          Petra tour from Eilat…..Amazing
From start to finish, this was a great tour with truly great guides. We were picked up at our hotel, and he walked us through the border and we were immediately met on the other side to get through to Jordan. Our guide, Hakam was awesome. He was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating whenever I wanted to stop to take pictures. Our tour guide in Petra was also so great and made that amazing place come to life. I cannot recommend this tour more.

Very Suspicious Behavior - made us feel unsafe
One of the scariest experiences I have ever had. I do not trust the people that were supposed to take us across the boarder into Jordan. They were definitely up something that was triggering a very unsafe feeling. Their behavior was so suspicious, we turned around at the border and did not go on to see Petra. The strangeness started the day before our scheduled pick-up. I sent a couple of texts to the tour person, asking about currency. On the link in Viator it said we need 65 USD per person for the Visa into Jordan. We live in Tel Aviv. So, I do not have USD. I was asking if NIS was acceptable. Or could I use my Visa Card. We never received a single response. After talking to others, I do know you can use a Bank Visa Card. But when I asked the driver (he is a Taxi driver – But this is normal in the area.) that question. He said USD. It wasn’t until I told him I only had NIS. He took that. But would not use my credit card. Ok, whatever.. Let’s just get across. Well, that is when it really turned from strange to scary The driver (name on his card read Ovadia Moshe) only takes you through the Israeli side. Ovadia talked us through the process said when we walk into the Jordan side, there was a man named Hassan waiting for us. He did repeat the name several times and even added the phrase, “very important, you only go with Hassan.” Well, Hassan wasn’t there. In fact, he never showed. After 10-15 minutes, all the other tour groups had moved on and left us alone in a long hallway, unable to proceed. The Jordan Immigration Officers would not let us proceed until Hassan came and finished the paperwork. So, I called our taxi driver (who did say call me if you have any issues). He acted like he didn’t know who I was. I had to tell him 3 times I was the guy he just took to the border and Hassan was not here. Finally, he said would call Hassan and call me right back in 2 minutes. He never called back. First call was at 08:12.. I called back at 08:36. Ovadia said he talked to Hassan was on his way and will be there in 2 minutes. I could see a person walking in the door. I assumed it was Hassan and got off the phone. But it was not. At 08:40 I called back, again. This time Ovadia was telling me that Hassan’s son was coming. He was saying things that I could not understand so I walked over to the Immigration Officer and asked if he could talk to Ovadia. While they were talking, a strange man who looked very suspicious walked in. And who announced himself as Hassan to the Immigration Officer, who already told me he knew Hassan. He challenged that and the man then said he was Hassan’s son. This man took my cell phone from the Immigration Officer (as he was still talking with Ovadia) in an aggressive manner and then pushed past me with my phone in his hand and walked to the end of the hall where nobody would be able to hear what he was saying. The look on the Immigration Officers face said everything I needed to know. He was obviously scared of this person. So, I followed him to the end of the hall, asking him to stop the entire way, which he ignored. When he got to the end of the hall he turned around. At that point I took my phone out of his hand and said, I will go nowhere with you Sir. Then I turned around and asked the Immigration Officer for help in getting us back to the Israel side of the border. To which he gladly did. Giving me further comfort that I was making the safe choice. While walking us back through he even stated, “I don’t know what was happening there, I have never seen him before”. The strange man never once said a single word to me. He only made eye contact with me when I took my phone away from him. I am a firm believer in the fact that the eyes can’t lie. This persons eyes told me, he was bad news. Was he planning bad things for us. I clearly don’t know for sure. But I know I was not about to risk my wife and my safety. Once we got back to the Israel side of the border. I made several attempts to call Ovadia to have him come back and return us to our hotel. He stopped answering my calls. Luckily, there was another tour groups escort person that we met while in line earlier, still sitting outside when we came across. We told him what happened. He said he knew Ovadia and called him and told him to come back and get us. Big Thank you to him. As I am certain Ovadia was not going to come back. Then when he did, he proceed to yell at us and tell me I have no patience. He told me this over and over, all the way back to the hotel. I told him how unprofessional they are, and that this behavior is suspicious and in my view criminal. And his response to that was again, "you have no patience". Honestly, if I figure out who to report this behavior to, so they can investigate what was happening there, I will. Maybe I am wrong. And hopefully I am. But if these individuals are doing something to travelers they need to be stopped. I feel bad. As seeing Petra has been something we have had on our must do list while living here in Israel. But we will have to skip seeing it. As our safety is way more important. I reached out to Viator about the incident. Who said they will investigate. Unfortunately, they are only the booking agents. And Fun Time Tour & Travel is who hires these guys. So, I am going to have to avoid using their services. I am not going to tell people do not use Fun Time Tour & Travel. But I will say, if you do, make sure you pay attention to your surroundings and make decisions based on you and your loved one’s safety your priority. As I don’t believe that they do. We all know they say they do. But those are just words. If they did, then I would not be writing this post and we would have seen Petra yesterday. For reference. Our Booking Reference #1028545253

          Great experience!
Petra is a wonderful place and should not be missed. Our trip left Eilat right on time. The tour staff at the border was well organized and got us across efficiently. The Jordanian bus and driver were great. Our tour guide, Kareem, was entertaining and shared his love and pride for his country and people, and Petra in particular. He kept us on schedule. We arrived to Petra 12:30. Had to be at a restaurant for buffet lunch at 15:45, departed 16:30 and arrived back to pick up point at around 19:00.

          Petra Beauty vs Border Confussion
Petra was as impressive as expected. It has to be experienced to appreciate the beauty and history. We were unfortunately only able to a walk a portion of it as a 1 day tour has it's limits. Our trip was based out of Eilat and crossed into Jordan at the Aqaba crossing. Pick up at our hotel was well coordinated and got us to the border in good time. You are required to walk across the border. There was a disconnect on the Jordan side with our transfer agent who wasn't around when our group arrived and part of our group was also late joining us. In all it ended up costing us nearly an hour of our limited day. There were also unexpected additional costs (apparently it said there would be additional costs on the package info but none of the group had seen it). Make sure you have additional cash with you ($US or credit) or you won't be getting in or out of Jordan! Once assembled the vehicle taking us to Petra and the on board travel guide were great. Return crossing back into Israel was much simpler. It is one of the most memorable parts of tour which was based in Israel.

          Your need longer
Petra will not disappoint you it’s amazing. We only did a day trip but you really do need longer than that. I’d say 2 or even 3 days. You have to visit this place. Don’t buy off the stalls at the entrance they ripped us off nearly £300 for two headscarves. But apart from that it’s one of the best historical places on earth.

          They don’t want customers
Don't hold your breath that they will deliver anything. They started answering and then stoped. Avoid this company.

          excellent
Today we went to Wadi Ram for an amazing trip with a driver accompanying us and then a guide with a jeep waiting for us. It was fun in their company, they were very kind, told us about the place, and gave us a tour of the area. Wadi Ram and Petra are among the most beautiful places in the world. Thanks to the company for the kind service, meeting the schedules and the interesting companions. We highly recommend them.

          Beware!
Beware this company! Booked this tour but unable to travel because of Covid. Numerous attempts to cancel thwarted - emails bounced back, they hung up on telephone calls and a signed registered letter was not delivered as tracking states: "addressee unknown at this address". It was the address given on the website so looks like they refused to sign for it. We are $750 out of pocket!

          Best part of my trip!
The sunrise from the top of Masada was the best part of my trip! I cannot recommend it enough! I also loved Ein Gedi nature reserve, the birdlife was amazing. The 'tour' only includes the minibus journey there and back, you can see Jerico out the window on the way.

Good Tour Company for a Solo Traveler
Petra was absolutely wonderful to see, and well worth the trip. The Tour Guide was excellent, extremely knowledgeable - intertwining history and humor. Travelers should know that there are different staff members on the Israel side and the Jordan side - but from my understanding, that is not unique to this tour group. Eli was incredibly helpful, as I planned the trip last minute. He helped to make sure everything was in order and that I had all I needed. Thank you, Eli!

          Great Experience!
This is a great option if you are mostly looking for transportation from Tel Aviv to these amazing sites and wish to combine several events in one, organized day. The tour provides ample time at all three sites (the Dead Sea, Masada and Ein Gedi) to explore as you wish. Adding the travel in, this becomes a very full day but well worth it!

          Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Dead Sea
We had an amazing time, very much enjoyed this day. This tour is really suitable for the people who want to tick the box on their list. Both our tour guides were extremely knowledgable and very friendly people. You can certainly learn a lot from them and they were both very passionate of their job. Very open to questions and very willing to do whatever the group want to see, experience, obviously within the time frame they had. I can highly recommend this tour. Just a not, for those who want to visit Jerusalem in depth-this tour isn't for you as you max spend 3h in Jerusalem, and that gives you just enough time to see the highlights of it. In my opinion 3h isn't enough for Jerusalem and I will definitely return just to be able to get to know the holy city more in depth and can spend more time there. All in all it was a great experience and will definitely use this tour company again on my return.
