stunning tour, absolute highlight of the trip
the tour was amazing ,well worth the early start! i can mostly repeat what most are saying- the climb is tougher than expected, especially since trying to make it in time. its possible, but my legs were shaking on he way down. for me personally, everything was quite tight in timing, i would have liked the tour to be longer with more time at every spot. however, i had friends on the same tour on a different bus/ company and they had even less time. the driver was on time and waited for us when we were a few minutes late, there was no tour or no explanations other when to be back. Do the tour, its amazing!

Positiv: tour guide Eli (only first day) was very competent and told us a lot about Jordans and Petras history. Transport and border crossing in Eilat was well organized. Very cheap price for a tour like that. Negativ: You will feel the disadvantages of the cheap price. Lunch in restaurant was ok, but you have to pay all drinks extra and they are extremely expensive. Hotel in Petra was very bad (3 stars). Tour group got the worst rooms, directly under the restaurant, loud chair moving noise at breakfirst and dinner time. Damaged furniture and equipment in the room. Never again. 2nd day: transport from hotel to Petra visitor center. Free time till 4 p.m.. Transport to Wadi Rum. Don't expect a real Beduine camp, its a lodge. Night spent in a kind of tent. But was ok, tents are situated in a garden around the restaurant, clean, nice to see. 3rd day: Jeep tour Wadi Rum, 3 hours, was good. Transport to Aquaba then was bad organized. Small mini bus for 9 people and luggage. Dangeros. Conclusion: If you want to see much for less money take it and live with the bad things. Otherwise take another tour, spend more money and have more comfort hopefully.

I would not book it again
Overall, the Trip was okay but there were several inconveniences. First, the driver picked us up 45 minutes too late. We arrived in Petra at around 1 p.m. and did the tour through Petra before having „lunch“ at around 3.45 p.m. We were brought to the Al Anbat Hotel in Petra which was really bad (I do not know how they got 3 stars). The next day was free time in Petra until meeting the group again to go to the camp in Wadi Rum. After approx. 10 minutes the bus broke down. A replacement came after 30 minutes which was okay. The stay in the camp was okay but not authentic. The tents are very simple, the sanitary facilities were borderline. The Jeep tour was cool. On the way back we stopped for 1,5 h in Akhaba which was unnecessary and then back in Israel we were brought to Eilat to wait there for 3 Hours before being brought back to the border to go back to TLV via Jerusalem together with the one day tourists. We arrived in TLV at 1 a.m. We were not informed about the itinarary in advance esp. for the last day. There were lots of different drivers and different kinds of vehicles (not all new as promised). The experience explains the low price.

Petra with Fun time? Don’t think so!
I will start by saying that I’m sorry I didn’t check TripAdvisor for the reviews of this agency before I booked this tour for my husband and I. I can see now that our experience was not an isolated occurrence. We booked this 3 day tour to Petra and Wadi Rum and We were told that the tour will leave on 8/10/19 at 3am and at 3:15 from 2 different pick up places/hotels in tel aviv and from there we’ll have a 4 hr drive to Eilat to the crossing point to Jordan. Since we were coming from a different city in Israel we left at 2am and arrive by 3:05 at the second picking point. There were already waiting another 2 groups of people. About 3:30am a small and very old mini bus for about 15 people arrived to pick up us and we were told that we were going to Jerusalem first to join another group already waiting in a big tour bus... no mention of this when we booked but, we were happy to finally leave Tel Aviv at 3:45 . I can’t even begin to tell how annoying the driver of this particular minibus was, he just wouldn’t stop talking about himself with such a loud voice that some of the passengers had to ask him to please stop as they wanted to sleep. During that time the driver of the bus in Jerusalem called 3 times to enquire abut his whereabouts as he was very late and the people in Jerusalem where losing their patience, we where able to hear that and the excuses given as the phone volume was at the loudest. Finally we left Jerusalem and arrived an hour later than anticipated to the crossing point in Eilat extremely tired and uncomfortable as the sits in the bus were very close to each other and didn’t recline. A representative of Funtime came to meet us and help cross the border and told us that in the other side a Jordanian tour guide and bus driver will meet us. After waiting for about 40-50 minutes the tour guide came and took us to the bus and we drove another almost 4 hours to Petra with 1 stop at a souvenir shop where we could go to the toilet and buy souvenirs , coffee and or water at a very inflated price. Here I’d like to mention that the 3 days were very hot, around 33 C to 36 C and we were never offered water during all this time, we were suppose to buy anytime we had the opportunity, pay top dollars and carry with us as even though this was a dessert tour there was no water on offer. We finally arrived to Petra after another 4 hours drive and straight away we went for the main attraction tour in the heat of midday very tired from the long trip. But hey, we were in Petra, the Jordanian guide was very knowledgeable albeit a bit bored, he was just reciting all of the information and that’s good enough I guess... then he said that he finished his job there and that we could stay there and look around a bit more or do whatever but to get around 3:30 pm but not later than 4:00pm to a designated restaurant for lunch. My husband and I walked around a bit more and being very tired, hot and hungry we’ve decided to go to the restaurant at 3:30pm but we were told we needed to wait for the all group as this was a buffet and the food wasn’t ready, again no mention of all of us needed to be there together to eat. Finally the rest of the group arrived slowly and when everybody was seated the food was brought to the serving tables and it was so dry that was almost impossible to eat...Of course we had to pay separately for any drinks ordered including water and it was charged at gold price! At 4:30pm we all met at the Petra tour office to be taken to the hotel. We arrived at a very nice 3 star hotel took all our luggage and once inside we were told they had no rooms that we needed to go to a different hotel, just about 200mt away and that it was a very nice hotel just like the first . We put all our luggage on the bus and off we went... I can’t even start to described how bad was the second hotel! I’m not even sure if 1 star would have been suitable, some people were so tired that they didn’t care and stayed but another couple and us told them that we were going to find another hotel and pay extra but we were not going to stay there, then suddenly they had room for us in the 1st hotel they offered... we went there and although a very simply hotel it was clean and had very comfy beds and private shower and toilet so we stayed the night there. We were told that the next day we were on our own to explore more of Petra until 4 pm where we were going to meet again at the office to leave for Wadi Rum. At 4 pm we were there and about 4:30 we left to Wadi Rum. We arrived about 3 and a half hours later (after the bus broke down) at the camp site, it looked very nice from the outside with the tents all in the middle but inside just 2-3 or 4 camp beds , nothing else and shared/comunal toilet and showers, since we paid extra for a private room, we were taken to our “Chalet”, what a joke! A small and old room with 3 stone beds and a mattress on top , a small toilet and shower that smelled like sewer but we had no where to go in the middle of the dessert so we stayed. At 7pm we had dinner, at a quite nice outdoor camp restaurant and quite nice meal too, but of course although the dinner was included as well as the breakfast the following day , any drinks, coffee, tea, wine, or water had to be paid separately at a premium price again. We went to sleep without knowing what we were doing the next day, we were just told to be at breakfast between 7 and 9 and then someone will tell us what was the plan. After 9am we still didn’t know what we were doing, nobody knew... around 10 am open back Toyotas with benches to sit on took us for a drive through Wadi Rum for about 1 and a half hour including a stop of half an hour at a souvenir Bedouin tent were we could uy water... you know the drill....and back to the camp to take the bus to Aqaba were we arrived at about 12:30pm at yet another souvenir shop where we were told we needed to leave our luggage there and at 1:30 we were to be back to cross the border to Eilat where we were going to stay until 7pm and then take the long drive to Jerusalem and tel aviv , a few minutes later we were told that we will cross at 2 pm, so off we went for lunch and for a walk on our own, thinking about the long wait in Eilat and the drive, my husband and I decided to buy tickets to fly from Eilat to tel aviv (45 minutes instead of 5 hrs in Eilat and 5 hours drive to tel aviv) we thought if we bought for the flight at 4:30pm we’ll have plenty of time to get there without problem... big Mistake! At 3 pm we were still waiting at the front of the souvenir shop in Aqaba for our bus to take us to cross the border, when we became very agitated and started screaming at one of the drivers that arrived with a van for 6 passengers and wanted to wait until more vans will come as we were more than 20 in the group, he finally agree to take us to the border, we were lucky there were not many people and got to the airport in Eilat just in time to board the plane to Tel Aviv ! I do recommend everybody to go and see Petra it’s a sight that will stay with you for ever! But please do your self a favour and and do not go with Funtime tours!!

Terrible service
This agency was recommended to us by the hotel concierge. Unfortunately we, like the rest of our almost 30-people group, did not do due diligence and check in advance reviews of Fun Time Travel by people who already used its services. It all started with the 3-hour delay at the Jordanian border. 3 separate groups were supposed to be consolidated into 1 bus at the check point in Jordan. Fun Time completely miscalculated time of arrival of the groups from Tel-Aviv, making us wait at the boarder from 7.45am till 10.30am. Nobody could tell exactly what time we will be on the bus en route to Petra. We arrived to Petra at 1.45pm and only had 2 hours to tour. That's nothing for such a vast site! English speaking guide was simply awful! We were told that the French speaking guide for the French speaking part of the group was also terrible. Lunch that Fun Time arranged in Petra was rediculous! Many people in the group were lied to about their arrangements and had nobody from Fun Time willing to be helpful. On contrary, they were rude and unwelcoming. At some point in Petra local office of Fun Time Travel we were told by Mr. Ziad - the manager - that the bus will not leave until we sign complaint waiver. It was pure blackmail. Anywhere in the world it would be illegal to hold hostage the whole bus, forcing people to waive their tight to complaint about terrible job the agency did. Not with Fun Time Travel! They, indeed, held the bus until we signed such waiver. Overall experience was the worst we've ever had!

Great tour, great organized!!
I m super happy I pick this company for made my 3 days tour to Petra. At the begin I wasn't sure because they offer the tour much cheaper then other companies, what make me think the quality isn't too good. Lucky me I choose them. Everything was well plan, in schedule. Great hotels and meals. I was really happy after this 3 days with the company.

Terrible and unorganized
If you wish to waist your time this company is a perfect partner. They are very good to the moment they take your money and promises services. After that you are screwed. They will made you wait for hour or two for other groups without any info and options.

The tour was Great. With a guide to tell us about the histories. Only Minus: We didn’t get an itinerary so we didn’t have a clear overview of our day

False Pricing
We booked and canceled this tour because Fun Times gave false information on extra charges. They claim that you will need $65 USD border fee and $60 USD visa fee to cross from Eilat to Aqaba on the way to Petra and Wadi Rum. It is unclear if the $65 USD border fee includes both the Israel exit and the Jordan exit fee of 10JD. We ended up doing it ourselves because all government official websites and Trip Advisor told us that the fee is 105 ILS shekels + 2 ILS processing fee = 107 ILS = $30.66USD. 10JD = 14USD totaling $44.66 USD - NOT $65USD. As for the visa, we as Canadians got a FREE visa. When I asked them how this will be handled at the border they told me we would give this USD to the driver to handle it for us. They also charged a 5% refund fee which I understand should be charged for late cancellations but it was written no where and I dealt with them on the phone and they charged it without telling me.

Sheep without a shepherd
I rate this journey 3 because on average it was good. The Jordan side was fantastic but Fun Time was shocking. The bus arrived 40 minutes late at 4:40 am. This snowballed and we arrived nearly two hours late at Petra failing to have time to view the site at leisure. The agency left the group without a guide on the Jordan side and the group was left to fend for themselves. It is one thing if one signs up for this type of travel but this was unacceptable. Further, when we got to Wadi Rum there was a function and zero experience of local food or culture. It was expected of us to fall in with the guests and the food can be found anywhere in the world. The contrast was confirmed because the next morning's warm flat bread and fantastic cuisine. So Jordan's side get's a 5 but Fun Time a zero!

Bad value for money
One of the worst tours. Time to spent in Petra: 3 hours because of waiting time for a group coming from Jerusalem and a stop at a gift shop. Wadi Rum: jeep safari is only a couple of kilometers including gift shop. After that there is max. 2 hours in Aqqaba. Second day ended at 15:00. In general no good guide and no good info about planning (Wadi Rum). Bad value for money!!

Brilliant
The one day tour to Petra is very long due to the distance and border crossing so I booked the two day and I’m so glad I did. Petra is stunning. The overnight stay at a desert camp was brilliant. The jeep safari was great fun and the afternoon swimming in the Red Sea while waiting for the bus ride back was a fantastic surprise.

Petra Day Tour, horrible drivers!
We booked this tour via a tour agency which we loved, unaware that it would be operated by Fun Time. First we were told we can only get picked up at a hotel 40 mins walk away from us, so we booked a taxi to get to the pick up point... only to then drive to a hotel 5 mins walk away from where we are staying to pick up another passenger. The driver was smoking while driving and honestly drove way to fast and reckless to get us to Eilat. The border was fine, it didn't take too long and the bus driver and guide in Jordan were really nice (and the only reason I didn't give a zero rating). Petra itself was lovely, the lunch was okay. The way back was equally horrible as now our driver drove incredibly slow, making the way back 2.5hrs longer and dropping off people everywhere (we spent an hour in Jerusalem just dropping people off). He also didn't seem to know his way around and had to keep double checking with his GPS. Absolutely avoid booking with this company, all other passengers had equally bad experiences. In general, a day is too short in Petra and the drive from / to Tel Aviv is too long (but that is not fun time tours fault).

Quick trip
I have to say I was more then a littke disappointed with this trip. 45 minutes out of the whole day to see Petra. I didn't get to see everything. Two hours waiting for other people to join the tour at the boarder. Was a very frustrating day to say the least.
