- Sil19080 contributionsA perfect day with Ephesus Port ToursI booked a guided tour to Ephesus, Virgin Mary, Artemis and Sirince via the Internet from Germany. Everything was perfectly organized, we couldn't be more satisfied. We had a private driver, the amazing Isik was our lovely and very professional guide and everything went smoothly. We were picked up at our house and were taken back at the end. It couldn't have been more comfortable. The price for this was more than fair. The locations are definitely all must-sees. Ephesus Port Tours is highly recommendable. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience.Written July 6, 2021

- livingthedream300 contributionsbooked thru Oceania cruisesNot sure if this is the same tour - tour bus to marketplace in Sirence; wine tasting at Artemis (bought a bottle of the pomegranate wine - excellent!); went to a museum in town, then bused to a former water mill that's now a restaurant (Gunlok Kahvalt Verilis); for lunch - excellent food, great service, TONS of beautiful plants & flowers. Hope I'm spelling everything correctly but I'm sure it's close!Written January 9, 2020
- PeteBarb_IL0 contributionsEphesus Port Tours: Nice recovery after initial fumbleHakan was an excellent guide! Very informative and took great care of us. The ONLY complaint would be that he initially gave us some bad information on when ferries run from Samos ... so my suggestion would be to confirm any ferry schedules, don't rely on the tour companies. It cost us several hundred dollars to readjust schedules to accommodate. I almost gave him a 4 rating out of 5, but that would diminish how good a guide he is, and the fact that he bent over backward to help us after the initial mistake was realized. Go with Hakan.Written November 15, 2018
- smont070 contributionsGreat experienceMy husband and I visited Samos back in August, and while we were there, we wanted to take a day trip to Turkey for a tour of Ephesus and to see some surrounding sites. We had never been before and contacted Ephesus Port Tours a couple of days before we had planned to visit. We received a response quickly and Hakan Bozdag (who came highly recommended) was available for the day we requested. Our time with him was great; he's very knowledgable and a kind host. I do not remember his name, but the driver who drove us around was great as well. Though our time in Turkey was short, we enjoyed it very much. Hope to visit again someday.Written November 9, 2018
- debora09030 contributionsUnforgettable ExperienceToday was our first day in Turkey. We had a private tour scheduled with HAKAN from EPHESUS PORT TOURS and we loved it. From the first email exchange to the final scheduling their response was always fast and very nice and acommodating. We booked the private 'Best of Ephesus Tour' for 2 people. Everything was great: on time pick up at our hotel in Kusadasi, safe driving - the driver was so nice and attentive -, and the guide - Hakan - was awesome, very knowledgeable and even funny. He went above and beyond to fulfill our requests: "You are the boss!" Regular tours skip some places because you have to pay separate entrance fees but on the private tour we went to places that were really worthwhile to see. Even better: Hakan knew all the best spots to take pictures at all the sites. The lunch was optional and not included in the tour price. The recommended lunch spot was peaceful with excellent service, delicious food at €5 per person. Prior to the our scheduled tour we were offered an option for a shopping tour. Hakan left us very comfortable to choose if we wanted to see this part or not. He explained that we were not forced to buy anything and it was to learn about the culture. And so it was, no pressure. We watched how silk carpet is made and visited a leather factory. In the end we were glad we went and we didn't buy anything, although the products are beautiful and of exceptional quality. We had an unforgettable experience and truly enjoyed it. I highly recommend the tour and Hakan is the best guide.Written October 30, 2018
- Damasus0 contributionsGreat tour and great valueMy wife and I booked the Best of Ephesus tour for September 24 through Tours by Locals. Elif was very responsive and helpful in finalizing our tour plans, and Hasan was our tour guide. Hasan met us at the port terminal at 8:30 as arranged and led us on a short walk to our van with private driver. The van was very clean and comfortable. We first visited Mary's House and then traveled to Ephesus. We included the Terrace Houses in the tour, which was a good decision. The excavations of the Terrace Houses are impressive, as is all of Ephesus. Hasan was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and his English and familiarity with the U.S. was excellent. He shared insights into life in current Turkey, which we appreciated. Hasan respected my desire to avoid any carpet-making demonstration. He took us to a local Turkish restaurant for lunch, where we sampled typical Turkish foods-all good. After lunch, we visited the Temple of Artemis, which is unimpressive after the ruins of Ephesus, Athens, and Corinth. The tour lasted about 7 hours. We paid a little less for our private tour with Hasan than we would have for a group tour with our cruise ship, so it was a far superior value. You must see Ephesus, and you cannot go wrong booking a tour with Ephesus Port Tours.Written October 29, 2018
- shuilee20180 contributionsExcellent experience tour. The companies mini-bus was very clean and comfortable for the tours which, as a group of eight of us, found it so nice to be able to talk with our tour guide,Zeynep, freely and who seems to know her stuff throughtout the trip. We all agreed the tour was well worth it and they even drop us off for lunch at a nice seafood restaurant in town and came back few hours later to picked us all up and took us all back to our hotel. Excellent service and cannot be faulty.Written October 25, 2018

- Alejandra P0 contributionsWonderful experienceIt was our first time in Ephesus and were very worried about what to do, but thankfully our wonderful guide Oguz brought us to the best of Ephesus and explained everything to us in perfect Spanish. It was a delight to get to know about this place and also to experience more of the crafts that the people in this place do, especially to see how the carpets are done. Definitely, recommend taking this tour if you visit Turkey and Ephesus. It's a must see place.Written October 10, 2018
- Carole M0 contributionsBest tourEphesus has been our bucket list for years. When the time came we looked on TripAdvisor for your guides and companies. It was obvious which company and guide to select. The reviews did not steer us wrong. Hakan and his company met and exceeded any expectations. Charming, knowledgeable, detailed just a few adjectives of Hakan . You can't go wrong with Hakan.Written October 9, 2018

We highly recommend this private tour with Banu! It was such a pleasure having an expert guide explain the archeological and historical sites and museums to us and give us the flexibility to prioritize based on our interests. We were spoiled with her express pass entrance and ability to customize our tour and lunch stop according to our preferences. We packed in everything we wanted to see and returned to the ship right on time. Plus, the cost of this tour was less than the tour options offered by the cruise line. It’s the best way to go!

I booked this tour of Ephesus, for four of us, instead of taking one of the shore excursions offered by our Viking cruise ship. We wanted a much more "personal" tour to such a fascinating and important site, rather than a large impersonal "group" visit, and this tour was sensational! Our guide, Isik, was truly exceptional: very personable, knowledgeable, and creative in arranging our visits to various sites. She took us to the House of the Virgin Mary before any of the crowds arrived, which made for a very nice experience. We saw all the the main sites, including the amazing Library of Celsus, and wondered around the Great Theater to see it in depth (which not all Viking shore excursions did). All accompanied by excellent explanations and insights offered by Isik. We had a very nice lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the Artemis Temple. We were all very pleased with the tour and would give it the highest recommendation! (It was actually cheaper for the four of us than the "paid" Viking shore excursions, and we got close-up personal insights from an outstanding guide.)

Thank you Elif for a memorable tour! Your customer service skills, knowledge and personality were fantastic! You made sure that we were able to experience the sites we had hoped to see, while you provided your knowledge of the history and fun facts about them and shared inside information about Ephesus and the people that we would never had known without your tour. We are truly happy that we booked the private tour and had you as our guide for an educational and enjoyable time. We recommend that others traveling in the area use your service….they won’t be disappointed!!!

Really great. Our tour guide Metin Yoruk was wonderful. Very personable and accommodating. He knew everyone! And arranged a few extra side trips for us as we requested. I would highly recommend this private tour. And for the money it is well worth it. One thing to keep in mind, the price doesn’t include entrances. We spent an additional $100 for entrance fees and tips so be sure to account for that.
We ate lunch at a great restaurant, dined with Metin and had a wonderful Turkish meal ($10 per person, GREAT FOOD AND A LOT OF IT).
Make sure you include the terrace houses in your tour. It is located inside Ephesus. Costs a few euros more but amazing!
We will definitely be using Metin again.

We had just 6 hours in port but Kusadasi Tours made use of every minute. Not much is open at 7 am, but our tour guide took us to a pottery factory where we were served tea and learned how they made their beautiful plates, vases, and glow-in-the-dark pottery. Then we went to a weaving school where we were treated to a complete demonstration on how the rugs were made, from the silkworms to the final product. This was my favorite part. No pressure at either place to buy. Then we headed to the Ephesus ruins which were just opening. Awesome ruins, I never would have guessed. Then to St. John's place. We didn't make it to Mary's House as we had to be back at our cruise ship at 12:30 and we were. We saw much more than we would have on any of the cruise excursions. An excellent tour!

A simply beautiful spring day opened this informative and well paced private tour of the ruins of Ephesus. Our guide Dogukan was excellent in identifying sites that ordinary travellers could easily miss. Thoroughly recommend.

We had a fantastic tour with the most knowledgeable guide who assisted us in every way. Our guide, Azer, was friendly, professional and gave us a picture of current life in turkey as well as the historical facts about Ephesus. Our tour was private with guide and safe driver. Azer was able to customize our day to fit our interests with plenty of time to get back to ship. Do not worry. We had a beautiful lunch sampling incredibly delicious food, a tour of Ephesus, as well as educational observation of rug making (hand made rugs). If you are interested in purchasing a beautiful hand made rug Turkey is one of the countries where culture and high quality craftsmanship remain. It was the best tour ever. Do not book with another company and ask for Azer. She is wonderful!

Fabulous private tour and highly recommended! Our guide along with our driver picked us up at the port in a comfortable van and we visited the House of the Virgin Mary, the Ephesus ruins, and then a rug factory, where we were treated like royalty as we were served Turkish tea along with a private showing of the most amazing rugs. However, the best part is when we visited a leather factory and had a private runway show with live models displaying leather coats and jackets of the finest quality. Then as we were escorted into a huge leather showroom, and needless to say, we purchased the finest leather jackets. We had an early embarkation and we made it back on time. It was one of the most memorable days of our cruise.

Our small group had a fantastic day on this tour. Easy pick up from the cruise port in a nice roomy van and we were able to customize our trip to our liking. The highlight of course was Ephesus which we were able to spend lots of time wandering around and our guide Burak was quite informative. A must see for sure if you’re interested in ancient history. Another nice surprise was our lunch stop at a Turkish cooperative. The food was excellent and well worth the stop. We had a quick stop at a pottery shop which was very informative. All hand painted and very beautiful work and also had time for a museum stop to finish off. Our first stop was at the house of the Virgin Mary but for me it wasn’t worth it. It was crowded and touristy and it was a small reconstructed house on a hill. The drive there was gorgeous though. Overall it was well worth booking this tour. Added bonus was staying ahead of the cruise buses. Thx Burak for making our day in turkey special

I highly recommend this tour. My husband said that of all the tours we went on while on this cruise, this was his very favorite. Our group of 3 couples went on a trip from Izmir port to Ephesus on a van with about 6 or 7 others from our cruise. The van ride was under an hour, broken up along the way with a short stop at the rug factory (with clean bathrooms, "free" Turkish coffee and pastries, and salesman who are determined to sell you the rug of your dreams).
Our tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She had a very good command of the English language and was able to entertain us with her dialogue and give relevant and knowledgeable answers to our questions. The bus driver was professional and got us back with plenty of time for an on-time departure.
