- elrikad20140 contributionsDilek is a fantastic guide!Dilek is a very knowledgeable and lovely guide. She was very helpful and gave me many tips how to get the most out of Istanbul. She answred my wattsup question long after the tour and she has saved me money and time with her advise.Written July 24, 2024
- Simon W0 contributionsDilek is excellentDilek took me to the Asian side of Istanbul and showed me a part of the city I hadn’t seen before. She also shared much of the history of the city which was fascinating. Her style is warm and friendly and we finished the tour with a lovely meal.Written May 4, 2024
- 902nital0 contributionsDelightful and delicious food tourI went on a customized food tour with Dilek, exploring both Kadikoy and Karakoy, and taking the ferry between them to also get a nice view of the city skyline. There were so many options and things to eat, I finally had to tap out as I was completely stuffed! I really appreciated that Dilek did not have a set itinerary to follow, but presented options based on what I was interested in eating and my dietary restrictions. I learned so much and have a list of other places to try (her recommendations that I didn't have the stomach space for) on my future visits to Istanbul!Written April 30, 2024
- Wanderer094728669260 contributionsCan't wait to come back to Istanbul !The tour with Dilek is one of the highlights of my 10-day trip in Turkey. Dilek very kindly helped me look at my existing itinerary and customize a food tour for me which is not only not repetitive, but exceed my expectations. Before I met Dilek, I was “traumatized” with many days of kebab and I thought that’s all about Turkish food. Dilek totally changed my perception to Turkish cuisine by surprising me with fish wrap, grill lamb sandwiches, fried mussels, olivessss and coffee. She brought me to the Asian sides where more locals go to and I hadn’t explored before. Dilek kindly introduced me to curious locals and I feel very welcomed by everyone. She is also very capable in answering all my questions regarding culture, religion and food. I would love to express much gratitude to Dilek for making my trip more than perfect.Written February 29, 2024
- jeffjM7848IS0 contributionsPrivate tours with Dilek well worth the priceMy wife and I were fortunate enough to have Dilek be our guide in Istanbul for two full days in October 2023. Dilek was wonderful to work with prior to our trip and she is very adept at tailoring tours to your personal needs. We were in Istanbul for a full week (having been there once before) and we were Dilek the first two days of our visit. To hire a private guide might seem a bit extravagant but not in a city like Istanbul that has so many things to see and do. She saved us so much time and showed us many things (ie. navigating the public transport, restaurant suggestions and finding little treasures that we never would have seen on our own.) that really enhanced the rest of our week when we were on our own. She’s very dependable, a joy to be with and a complete professional. We highly recommend her tour guide services.Written November 26, 2023
- FYtravel0 contributionsWhen responsibilty makes an impact !I had booked Dilek for two days to walk around with us in Old Istanbul - however just before our arrival in Istanbul, Dilek had a family emergency and could not join us. I cannot thank Dilek enough for taking an initiative and responsibility for finding us another guide. She also came to meet us once we were back in Istanbul. I would recommend Dilek highly for anyone requiring a private guide . Thank you DilekWritten November 5, 2023
- Todd K0 contributionsThere are many guides in Istanbul but only one Dilek.Dilek is the perfect guide. Of course she knows her facts and figures and history, she is a licensed guide. She can talk on and on about the history of the Blue Mosque or breeze through with a summary. It’s up to you. She’s concerned about your wishes but has plenty planned if you don’t want to think. She’ll take you to local places and introduce you to some of her favorite thing. Beware she knows all the best cake and coffee cafes. She taught us how to negotiate the public transportation, it’s the only way to go. I can’t say enough if how much I enjoyed spending time with Dilek.Written June 20, 2023
- Peter G0 contributionsPerfect tour guideIt was the perfect tour, you won't find a better guide than Dilek or her husband. Simply the best. If you want a guide in Istanbul.. book Dilek.. friendly, funny, knowledgeable.Written December 8, 2022
- 300joannag0 contributionsThe most wonderful introduction to local culture!Dilek was wonderful!!! She took my through the Asian side, where I am staying, to help me get oriented to the different neighborhoods and local life. We just flowed through special historic places and local spots, trying food along the way. She was patient with me, willing to teach me Turkish phrases and some history. She was responsive to my curiosity about places and love for books, helpful beyond description with finding necessities for living here, and cared enough to make sure I was well set up for the rest of my stay! I also so appreciated her heartfelt conversation, and authentic enjoyment of her city! I had the best time!!!Written November 11, 2022
- mac7960 contributionsSecret gems and moreI am glad to know Dilek as she managed to bring us the real turkish atmosphere, leading us through secret gems of Istanbul and showing us monuments and mosques. It felt like we know each other for a long time and we felt like at home. Answering all our questions about Istanbul and country we are now richer for yet another journey. Thank you so much Dilek...untill we meet again.Written May 28, 2019
- Ben S0 contributionsWonderful!I was traveling solo to Istanbul in early dec and I was only in the city for a limited amount of time. Dilek took me on a 4 hour walking tour of Istanbul and we managed to cover all the sights that I wanted to see. She is warm, friendly and flexible - she knows istanbul like the back of her hand, and she shared interesting info about the sites that we visited. As a licensed tour guide, I did not have to waste time queuing for the sites as she had priority and that was a major bonus for me. If I ever return to Istanbul, I’d most definitely look for Dilek again.Written January 13, 2019
- Nabeel R0 contributionsBest Tour Guide EverIf ever there was awards for being the best then DIlek surely gets one. We arranged a tour with her from Istanbul to Bursa but modified it to suit our itinerary since we were staying over in Bursa and leaving again 2 days later. Dilek accommodated our needs and even arranged a pickup at a different hotel 2 days later for a transfer back to Istanbul without even charging us $1 more than agreed. She is very patient and your best interest at heart. We had lost one of our bags sometime during the day tour which she then found and kept with herself until we could meet up again to collect it from her. I don't believe this kind of service would be found in many other places around the world. If ever i'm back in Istanbul, Dilek would be the only person I call to arrange anything for me. 5 stars all the way.Written April 10, 2018
- MassiGirl0 contributionsDilek is a fantastic tour guideDilek is fresh, sweet, flexible and very knowledgeable. She gave us a wonderful overview of the life of the city, its culture and its people. We enjoyed the walks, the conversations and the tour. She was attentive to our needs and ready to adjust the itinerary of the day to our preferences. We felt we did a lot of things, considering it was just a half day tour. Thank you Dilek, we were delighted by your beautiful city and the kindness you showed to us. Dilek, you are a good ambassador of your culture! We hope to come back soon! HeidiWritten April 9, 2018
- 0 contributionsWonderful city tour with Dilek! We spent a delightful day with Dilek, seeing Istanbul through her eyes. It was a cold and blustery day, but Dilek’s smile and hospitality helped to keep us warm (along with plenty of hot Turkish tea!). We loved Istanbul and loved Dilek!Written March 29, 2018
- David P0 contributionsFantastic guide - so I'm taking my own advice and booking another tour!I could go on at length with how happy I was with the tour that Dilek guided me thru - she is very knowledgeable ( and I can be pretty painful wanting to know trivia), extremely personable and also perceptive; we had sat down at a restaurant that wasn't entirely my style and without having to say anything she suggested we go elsewhere. But the proof is in the pudding - on the way home I had booked flights with a short layover thru IST but changed those so I could take another tour!Written November 18, 2016

My wife and I booked Dilek for 3 days of sightseeing when we visited Istanbul in June. This was our first visit to Istanbul and we stayed at the magnificent The Peninsula Hotel Istanbul (highly recommend!). Dilek was kind enough to juggle her diary for the 3 days so that we did not need to change to another tour guide. Dilek arrived promptly at our hotel every day and we found her to be a knowledgable, thoughtful and kind guide who was able to help us to plan our itinerary in an interesting and time efficient manner. Dilek speaks excellent English and has a warm, straightforward and friendly personality. She proactively pointed out places of interest, sharing insights and anecdotes and kept us safe and well in this busy city. On the first day we visited Sultanahmet (Hagi Sophia, Blue Mosque) and the Grand Bazaar and Spice Market. One of the highlights was the excellent kebab within the Grand Bazaar - a real treat! On the second day we spent the entire morning at the Topkapi Palace and then hopped on a tram and had lunch at a fish stall in Karakoy before touring around the neighbourhoods near the Galata Tower. On the third day we took a ferry ride from the Karakoy pier near our hotel to explore the Asia side of Istanbul. Thank you Dilek for making this a memorable and special trip

Dilek is a tremendous tour guide. We spent 2 days with her and got a great overview of Istanbul. She is extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around. Her English is excellent. She mixes a great blend of the history of Istanbul with real life experiences in the city. This was my first trip to Istanbul and Dilek made the experience one to remember.

We spent two full days with Dilek as our private guide in Istanbul. She was professional and friendly, picking us up punctually at our hotel each morning. She expertly helped us navigate the city using public transportation and walking - the best options in Istanbul's heavy traffic. As an official certified guide, she provided an invaluable advantage by helping us skip long queues at major attractions like Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Basilica Cistern.
During our walks and shared meals, Dilek shared insights about Turkish culture, politics, and daily life in Istanbul. She was also open to talking about her multicultural background (she's married to a Mexican and also speaks Spanish), bringing an interesting perspective to our conversations. Even after our guided tour ended on the second day, she went the extra mile by securing our reservations for the Whirling Dervishes show. Her warmth, expertise, and dedication to providing exceptional service make her the perfect guide for anyone wanting to explore Istanbul.

Wow…just wow! We had an amazing full-day day tour of beautiful Istanbul with our phenomenal guide Dilek. Through her extensive experience, she possesses a depth and breadth of knowledge of Turkey’s complex and fascinating history, culture, architecture, and people. Dilek’s genuine appreciation and enthusiasm for Turkey is natural and contagious — she is truly an extraordinary combination of capability and likability. We are pleased to have booked her for two more tours in Istanbul. Thank you, Dilek, we look forward to touring with you again soon!

Dilek was the best tour guide ever! A friend of ours also highly recommended her to us after a great experience with her, and she exceeded our expectations. It can be difficult deciding what tour to book with and we came on a cruise so they always get you on buying a tour through the ship so you don’t get delayed getting back to the ship. But this was amazing and so much better than a huge group from the ship. Dilek met us at the cruise ship port exit, communicated on WhatsApp with us ahead of time, and customized our day for our family with two teens to be what we wanted. It was fantastic! She definitely made us feel safe and we quickly grew to know of her and really like her as a very kind and happy human who loves her country. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful experience, we went to many places in one day, we took advantage of every minute, Dilek spoiled us with a delicious meal in a typical and famous restaurant. We met near my hotel and he dropped us off one block from it. We talked and laughed and it was as if I had known her forever. When I return to Istanbul I will ask him to accompany us again. Highly recommended!!

Dilek is the best! I was staying in Istanbul for a long layover and she made everything I wanted happen. We mostly visited attractions near the Square but she was great sharing the history of these beautiful, historical sites. She accommodated to my wants. It was a full on 7 hour walking tour just in the Square. I wish I could've stayed longer and booked her for more tours.

My long-awaited visit to Istanbul was incredible in all areas. The sites were magnificent, and the guides i had were wonderful. I traveled alone, and at all times I felt safe. During my two- week stay I did not see any other Americans. I hope that many start to visit this city with such a long and multi-faceted history. I have to add that the shopping is well worth the bargaining process.

Dilek is great. She is very knowledgeable about history, culture and anything you care to ask about. And a lovely person to talk with. She saves you time by not having to queue in some places and in showing you the important things to see, which is especially useful if you are in Istanbul for a short time. I have no hesitation in recommending her
