- ghaneeludin0 contributionsGreat food + a tour of the area!Didem was amazing! My friends and I did the "Local Food and History Walk at Night, " which was a highlight of our trip to Istanbul. We tried food we would have never come across by ourselves, explored the Karakoy and Beyoglu area, and Didem even gave us recommendations for more restaurants to visit during our trip. Highly recommended!Written October 5, 2022

- svkravchenko0 contributionsInteresting, educational and deliciousWe booked this walking food tour as we both like to walk and are avid foodies. A very good choice this turned out to be. We got to see food markets, taste a variety of snacks, pastries, kebabs and desserts. Our guide, Ezgi was sociable, knowledgeable and gave us very good restaurant tips. A must do in Istanbul.Written December 17, 2020

Our guide, Sude, was an excellent guide to the wonderful foods of Istanbul. From the first mouth-watering fish wraps to the fortune-telling Turkish coffee, to the delicious dessert ending of our evening together, she was always an enthusiastic and knowledgeable food guide. Our group of three was provided with a private tour in Istanbul's New Town, and the price included all food and drinks. The 3-hour walking tour was not strenuous, and we were also introduced to many sights and features of Istanbul. All in all it was a great experience, and a wonderful introduction to Istanbul and the food of Turkey

Wow! This was the best tour I've ever done. If you're reading this you need to book this right now and on your first day would be best. Not only does this tour offer AMAZING value for money, you basically get 6 meals, but you also learn a lot about the city and tips for what to do the rest of your trip.
Didem is THE BEST tour guide ever! She is a native to the area and has so many recommendations. I recommend doing the morning and night tour with her to maximize your trip!
The food at all the stops is included in the tour price. You get a ton of food and as much water as you can drink. See something you love along the way? didem was so kind and flexible letting us stop to shop as needed.

Oskan is the ultimate food tour guide in Istanbul! His meticulous attention to detail and incredible dedication to discovering the city's culinary gems is unparalleled. This guy has tried countless restaurants to curate the best breakfast, candies, coffee and tea, kebab, kafta, and baklava experiences for his guests.
What's truly impressive is Oskan's commitment to excellence—he personally visits 4-5 new shops daily until he finds the perfect mix. During our tour, he went above and beyond, making two extra stops just to fulfill our specific cravings. His passion for food and knowledge of Istanbul's culinary scene made my birthday unforgettable.
Oskan gets my highest recommendation. If you're in Istanbul, do yourself a favor and book a tour with him. It's a must-try experience that will leave you with a full heart and an even fuller stomach!

Unforgettably wonderful food (and city sights) tour!
The highlight was meeting not just quality people in the tour who really wanted to be there and emmerse themselves in Turkish culture, but our local born and bred guide Ezgi. She has the most beautiful personality well suited to hosting visitors to her country and took the time to explain (in perfectly fluent English) customs and rituals as well as flowing with group dynamics and banter, reading the room and always being aware and accomodating of people's needs and preferences. She took the experiance up several notches by this professionalism yet also gave a real genuineness in sharing parts of her own life as a local. After the tour she offered assistance with recommendations and advice for our remaining stay. If I lived here permanently, I would definitly make room for as quality a human being as her in my life.

Ozcan gave us the best tour possible, he was incredibly patient with us, showed us places we would have never went without him. The restaurants he showed us were delicious! The places were incredible and he had a little historic background behind every place we went. We were all fascinated by the tour. It was amazing to get to know some major places in the city! 100% recommend!!

This is one of the best food tours I’ve ever been on. Four full hours of exploring, eating, and learning, our host Didem was an excellent guide. She was warm, engaging, and knowledgeable, really knew how to bring everyone in and create a welcoming group atmosphere.
The food itself was incredible, spanning five stops and ranging from breakfast to lunch, home cooking, street food, coffee, and dessert.
My only note wound be to warn you that the bulk of eating is weighted on the last half of the tour. It could have been because of Ramadan timings but pace yourself!! My husband and I should have split some of the meals at the end (it was all too good!). Our last bite was at 2pm and he didn’t eat the rest of the day! Worth the food coma but plan for a nice walk to the Hagia Sofia and/or Blue Mosque afterwards, then a late afternoon nap.

This is a terrific tour. My wife, 20yo son and I all had a great time, even though we aren't normally into any kind of group tour.
From an almost hidden 100 year old Turkish pizza place to the birthplace of Turkish Delight, from a working class home-food restaurant that you'd never be able to go to without special knowledge to a hidden courtyard in the grand Bazaar with history, diamonds and cats, we spent 3-4 hours at 7-8 places we'd never find on our own. Not too fast, not too slow.
Didi was a generous, enjoyable and knowledgeable host, who is happy to answer questions and provide recommendations not only during your tour but during the rest of your stay in Turkey.
If any of this sounds good to you, sign up and enjoy. It's well worth your time and the price.
