We did a two day guided tour with Orchun Kamit. It was great. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything we saw, and he budgeted our time well, so we managed to avoid the crowds and standing in lines. We visited the Dolmabahçe Palace, took a boat tour on the Bosporus, and visited the Grand Bazaar on the first day. He also showed us the main shopping area in Taksim. On the next day we saw the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace and the Basilica Cistern. Mr. Kamit told us the history of each area in amazing detail. This is definitely the best way to learn about Istanbul.

We had an incredible day in Istanbul with Berke as our guide! From exploring the city's rich history to savoring the best food and enjoying its breathtaking panoramic views, Berke's knowledge was exceptional. We had an amazing two days in Istanbul, with Osman as our Guide. Osman went out of the way, to ensure that we were able to see everything that we wanted to see. The first day was a little bit too much of a walk for me, as I have had Knee Replacement Surgery, so walking long distances is difficult. But, Osman made sure that we didn't have to wait too long in queues, helping us to navigate as quickly as possible, and ensuring that I kept getting breaks in between. Even when I was really tired, he kept pacing the tour at my speed, without any pressure, but, still ensured that we got to see all the sites. We wouldn't have been able to do the tour, without him.. Even on the second day, he customised the tour, as per our preferences, helped me to shop for things at places I liked, helping us to get good rates, and shop at places of our choice. He even carried my shopping bags,never letting me carry anything! He clicked wonderful pictures everywhere helping us to create beautiful memories, we will treasure forever. Osman is a wonderful person, more like a family friend, than guide. Thank you so much for this wonderful tour, Osman. I would highly, highly recommend this tour to everyone, and specially Osman. Each place on the itinerary, Karim was able to teach us something interesting. The itinerary was easy to follow, easy to understand why we made the stops, and his timing was perfect in that Karim knew when to attend each place and when to wait for the crowds to thin. His local knowledge and his ability to educate were essential to making our day tour a success

We had a daylong stopover in Turkey and I’ve always wanted to see Istanbul. Amex Platinum’s travel desk recommended Unique and it was a terrific experience. I was a little thrown off when the company’s website didn’t have an option for airport pickup (too far away from the city center) but I sent them a note a day or two before the trip and they were extremely responsive and made the airport pickup and drop off happen. (Note that if you’re looking for the driver, look outside of the airport, not right when you exit immigration and baggage claim). Our guide was a wonderful fellow named Remzi. His English was perfect and his knowledge of local history stretched as far back as time itself. Since it was a single day tour we hit the major attractions: Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Palace and the Grand Bazaar. These are all located within walking distance of each other with plenty of excellent food options along the way. If you’ve got a day or two to discover Istanbul, choose Unique and ask for Remzi and let them handle it all for you, worry free.

Orchun Kamit. He was not only a great tour guide, but our key to get to understand the city. Absolutely need a guide in Istanbul to navigate this place. He is very knowledgeable and knew all the ways to get into everything we wanted to see. I would highly recommend Orchun!

With only a short break from work we booked the 2 day private walking tour of Istanbul with guide. Having been before many years ago it would be possible to tour by ourselves but having Gulsen, our local guide, made a huge difference. Gulsen was hugely knowledgeable but also adapted the tour to our requirements, and managed the entrance to sites in such a way as to minimise queues. In addition she helped with recommending other places to visit, buying transport cards and local food to try. Overall a great experience

I don’t know where to start. I have never given a 1 star review, but I can’t help not to do so now. Our guide, Gülsevim, clearly did not want to be guiding us from the beginning. When she spoke, it was as though she was reading from a script. I asked so many questions that she didn’t actually answer…I’m not sure if she didn’t know or if she didn’t understand (we had requested a guide fluent in English). Although she got us into the attractions quickly she was always rushing us. At the very start, she made a comment that the tour ends at 4:00 but she would be ok staying until 5:00…there were no times outlined in our purchased tour. I told her several times that we wanted to have a traditional fish sandwich for lunch, and she said she would take us there for lunch. She took us to an outrageously expensive seafood restaurant that did not have fish sandwiches. When I asked her about this she said, “yes, I wouldn’t recommend the fish sandwich.” I didn’t ask whether you would recommend having a fish sandwich! I asked where I could get one! She then sat down with us, ordered food and had them put her meal on our ticket! The only reason I didn’t refuse to pay for her is because my husband would have been mortified. How dare you ruin our lunch and then make us pay for yours! She also never said thank you. Finally, I reminded her twice that she owed us 100 Lire from the 1,600 Lire I had given her for tickets that cost 1,500. She pretended not to hear/understand me and never gave me my money back. Where we’re from, that’s called a thief. It’s sad that we came all the way here and this was our experience. It’s been an internal battle not demanding a refund! Definitely choose a different company for your tour!

Our guide Nurten was excellent. She was knowledgeable of the historic landmarks as well as friendly and flexible with what we wanted to do and see. Highly recommend her!

My tour guide was Çiçek, she was amazing. She did a very personalized tour of Istanbul. We walked most of it and used public transportation for the rest. I did not speak any Turkish at all, and she made me feel very comfortable even at places where they only spoke Turkish. She seemed to know a lot of the attractions we visited.
