About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Theresa W0 contributionsHighly recommend Ozgur! We were in Istanbul for an overnight on the cruise ship, Celebrity Infinity. We hired Ozgur for a private 2-day tour (all day, both days.) He was amazing! My husband has mobility issues and Ozgur took his time, allowing him to rest as needed. We saw so much more than we possibly could have on a cruise excursion. During our 2 days we saw Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Mosque, Roman Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace, Spice Market, Golden Horn, Pierre Loti Hill, Taksim Square, İstiklal Street and Galata Tower (outside). He also took us to Dolmabahçe Palace and on the ferry to and from the Asian side of Istanbul. Ozgur was so knowledgeable and so eager to share his culture. We went to a couple of great local restaurants and had the best ever baklava. He also took tons of great photos for us. Highly recommend!Written September 21, 2024
- Trail207032993620 contributionsIstanbul from the InsideDiana, our tour guide, provided us with rich Turkish experiences and memories which we would not have if not for her. Ice cream with a show, kebabs on the street, Turkish coffee in the bazaar, rich history lessons of the Roman and Ottoman Empires, and an appreciation for the art and architecture of Istanbul are etched in our memory banks now. All the while, Diana kindly concerned herself with our needs for refreshment, shade from the sun, and finding specific gift items to take home. We would not know Istanbul without her.Written July 15, 2024
- patricemmmb0 contributionsIstanbul Private Shore ExcursionI booked private shore excursion for my mom while she was in Turkey for a 2 day stop. The booking process was easy and the tour was amazing. My mom really enjoyed not only the actual tour but also loved the humor and information that the tour guide provided. 5 out of 5 stars!Written February 25, 2024
- Timmy1090 contributionsIstanbul with EmelEmel, our tour guide knew everything about the locations we visited and the city itself. I would definitely go back and ask for Emel to show us the rest of the city.Written November 2, 2023

- vasanthiv20230 contributionsAmazing Tour of IstanbulHazal was an amazing tour guide who helped us navigate the crowds and line ups in Istanbul. She kept us informed about important aspects of the highlights with passion and enthusiasm. Of note, one of the tour group members lost their phone/wallet in the vehicle and she ensured that the phone/wallet was returned to the ship intact! We appreciate the efforts Hazal displayed in our visit to Istanbul and look forward to visiting again! The tour operator, Soner, was very responsive prior to the tour and we appreciate prompt responses to requests for changes. As well, Soner ensured detailed communications to assist in retrieving the phone/wallet. Thank you Soner and Hazal!Written October 23, 2023
- I3744RTlisav0 contributionsGreat tour of EphesusWe had an amazing tour in Ephesus and to the House of Mary, as well as seeing native pottery and Turkish rugs being made. It was an amazing eventful day packed in to only a short few hours! Our tour Soner made sure we got the most out of the short time we were able to do as our shore time was limited. We highly recommend this tour group and our guide!Written October 19, 2023
- ArthurH2910 contributionsThe Most Competent Tour Company we have ever dealt with.Soner Tufan the Operations Manager for Daily Istanbul Tours did an outstanding job of organizing my family of 9 adults - their pick up at the Istanbul cruise ship terminal, their transport with all their baggage and personal items from the terminal to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Old City of Istanbul, getting everyone checked in and then providing us with a full two day tour of all the sites in the city including the Topkapi Palace, the Dolmabahçe Palace, the Roman cisterns, the Agha Sophia Cathedral, the Blue Mosque, the Mosque of Sulieman the Magnificent, the spice bazaar, the Grand Bazaar, the list was endless. More importantly he provided us with a professional driver for our Mercedes tour vehicle and the best tour guide any of us have ever had. BEYZA is exceptional. She is fully knowledgeable of the history of Constantinople and Istanbul from 300 AD to present. She is a university graduate, is perfectly fluent in English, is amenable and a person fully focused on the comfort, safety and enjoyment of her guests. She was a pleasure to be with at all times and never left our sides keeping all 9 of us with her and under her scrutiny from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm each day. I cannot praise or compliment her enough. She is an exceptional, caring, considerate, competent, knowledgeable, warm, intelligent person in all aspects. She is the best ever and for touring Istanbul and Turkey you will never find a better one. On our third day in Istanbul, Sonar organized our travel from the Crowne Plaza Hotel to the Airport. Right on schedule. I cannot praise Soner's skills at organizing and implementing all aspects of our tour. An outstanding exceutive to work with at all times. A true credit to his compnay.Written October 17, 2023
- NoStones0 contributionsAn Amazing CompanyWe were scheduled on a Celebrity Cruise in the Mediterranean which we had to cancel because of complications from Covid. Our first stop was to be Istanbul where we had booked with Daily Istanbul Tours for a two-day city tour and then a tour later to Ephesus. Soner was fantastic to deal with, responsive, thorough and informative. When we had to cancel, he was so gracious, wished us well and there were no cancellation fees. Will definitely use them when we are able to return to the Mediterranean.Written October 14, 2023
- Q1280XGmichellem0 contributionsA fabulous day in IstanbulWe had the most fabulous day - one of the best of our entire cruise. We were not docked in Instanbul for as long as we had been on previous cruises but we managed to pack so man y sights in with the time available The places we saw were fascinating and our tour guide Emel was just lovely. She was so knowledgable and was accommodating to our needs. As an extra treat we finished the day with dinner at a local restaurant where she joined us and recommended what local dishes we should try. I would thoroughly recommend this tour.Written October 12, 2023
- Relax7245910 contributionsExcellent guide in Turkey!Diana was the best guide ever. We had a two day tour and she made she we saw exactly what we wanted. Her knowledge of history was so helpful and added a lot of value to our tour. She was hands down best tour guide ever! We highly recommend taking this tour over the cruise line tour. It’s personal and perfect. And cost about the same or less.Written October 11, 2023
- Juliafost0 contributionsPrivate Istanbul TourWe took this tour independently from our cruise booked through Viator. As I’ve booked quite a from from them, I knew this would be a good tour and I was not disappointed. Our guide, Attila, was very knowledgeable and personable. Our tour was to include The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. We ended up not going into either of these as the line was SO long for both. This had absolutely nothing to do with our tour. In fact, Attila was more than happy to wait, but my husband and I had no desire to wait that long. Our problem (I believe) was that our cruise did not get into port until almost 1:30PM. Too late in the day to visit such busy monuments. We had a lovely visit to the Basilica Cistern. We were able to do a “skip-the-line” and go right in, which was so nice! And because we had extra time, Attila gave us options to choose from, depending on our interests. We chose to go to a ceramic shop, Firca, that had a demonstration of making them as well as many beautiful options. The best part of a private tour is that they give you these options and gear it toward your preferences. These private tours are the best was to see a large city. We used this company in Kusadasi/Ephesus and loved it. They were so helpful in working with our cruise info and in communications. I would recommend this company any time!Written October 8, 2023
- AmyR105380 contributionsSplurge on this Private Tour - So worth it!!!My husband and I stopped in Istanbul for 2 days while on a cruise in Greece and Turkey. We wanted to see as much as we could in this short time so decided to splurge on a private guided tour. Our guide, Diana, met us at the cruise ship terminal and we spent 6 amazing hours with her!! We visited Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, the underground Cisterns and the Grand Bazaar. Diana guided us through each site while providing the history, background and more recent developments of each location. She was incredibly easy to spend time with! In addition to the fascinating "tourist" attractions, Diana was patient and helpful with shopping stops along the way for us to purchase gifts to take home. We learned a lot about the Old City but Diana also shared what it's like to live in Istanbul today. We would highly recommend this private tour and especially our fabulous guide, Diana!!Written October 8, 2023

Fantastic experience with Our guide Semen, who was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and very accomodating. Very responsive to our interests and happy to change the tour to match them. A very enjoyable and informative tour of the Topkapi Palace followed by a delicious and memorable lunch. Semen recommended local specialities that raised the experience to new level. The whole day was enjoyable and felt like a day out with friend. Highly recommended

We've just returned from a 12-day Med.Cruise with an over night stop in Istanbul. Our ship arrived Istanbul at 4pm on Sunday afternoon and was scheduled to depart at 5pm on Monday. We really wanted to see the Hagia Sophia but found out that it was closed on Mondays. Once I realized that the Hagia Sophia was only open until 6:30pm on Sunday, I knew I needed to reserve a private tour. After extensive research, I decided on Daily Istanbul Tours.
Words cannot express how pleased we are with Soner and his travel/tour company (Chora Travel). Soner's prompt and thorough emails allowed us to customize a private 2-day Istanbul tour, to include an interior tour of the Hagia Sophia on Sunday afternoon. He and his driver were waiting for us as we walked off of the ship and whisked us off to the sites, ahead of the large group cruise ship tours. The skills of our driver were much appreciated, as the city congestion/traffic is difficult to imagine. We relaxed in an air conditioned van while Soner oriented us to the historic parts of town and got to know us. Luckily, he had already purchased our entrance tickets so we did not have to wait in line to purchase tickets; this allowed us extra time to see the Hagia Sophia and surrounding area. Soner did a fantastic job of relating historical information, cultural information and answering any question we asked. It took less than an hour for us to determine we'd found a "gem of a tour guide" and a new friend....
We visited the Spice Market and were introduced to Turkish Delights (sweets), saw the New Mosque, the Galata Bridge and the crazy fish boats. We then took a 1-1/2 hour evening cruise on the Bosphorus River and were able to see the palaces, government buildings, bridges and expensive homes. Soner narrated the trip and pointed out interesting sites. While on the boat, we asked for a restaurant recommendation, as we wanted to experience traditional local turkish food. Soner called Hamdi Restaurant & was able to secure a reservation and a table with a view. We were hesitant to wander the city at dark without our guide and asked if he'd join us for dinner. Soner rearranged his family plans that evening to accommodate our special request. A great meal was had by all and the restaurant manager entertained us until late that evening. He must have been a stand up comedian in a former life! We were safely delivered back to our ship at 10pm, only to be picked up at 7:45 am the following morning, for our full-day tour.
Our 2nd day was packed with fun: once again, we achieved our goal of beating the crowds and arrived at the Hippodrome & surrounding area. I was able to take photos without tourists in them which was nice. We visited the Blue Mosque as it opened and then toured the incredible Topkapi Palace. Soner knew exactly which order to see the sites and the best way to prioritize our time. We never felt rushed or uncomfortable. He helped us barter for water, pretzels and guide books on the streets, took us to a great spot for lunch (which was included) and then onto the Underground Cisterns and to the Grand Bazaar for some shopping. Soner even helped me pick out a gold chain at one of the jewelry stores.
Having traveled extensively in Europe in the past, I have to say that Soner provided us with one of the best tours and value for our money we've experienced.
HE EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!
We were sorry our time in Istanbul was so short and are eager to return. For future trips in that region, we will contact Soner for advice, and highly recommend him to all of our friends!
He truly loves his job and you can tell he's spent an enormous amount of time reading and becoming well-educated about Turkey. I wish we could've packed him in our bags and taken him as our "personal guide" for the remainder of our trip.
Disclaimer: I don't usually take the time to write lengthy positive reviews, but I was really impressed by our tour guide. This comes from an Art History major with a big interest in historical architecture. You won't be disappointed if you use this company! Our 2-days in Istanbul were the highlight of our trip, thanks to Soner!

My son and I only spent two days in Istanbul and I selected this tour company. And they were incredible. The first day, with Ayse, was a group tour (although there was only one other small family with us so it felt like a private tour). She took us to the main highlights in Istanbul not to be missed and she was quite knowledgeable, funny and a joy to be around. The second day, with our private tour guide Ozlem, who picked us up at the hotel, we did the Off the Beaten Trail too and that was even more awesome. My son is a huge history buff so she geared the tour to his needs and we walked in neighborhoods not traveled by many tourists and saw the real Istanbul beyond the highlights (which are a must as well). She gave us incredible insight and she was just a delight. We had a private driver all day who picked us up after we walked the neighborhoods and she really gave us a flavor of being a native in town. I highly recommend Ozlem for a private tour and specifically her Off the Beaten track tour. I'm so happy I choose this company. Well worth the money! Don't miss out.

Istanbul was amazing by itself but what made it unforgettable and fun was our tour guide Ozlem! Not only was she knowledgeable and insightful but she was attentive to our different needs (group of 10 with seniors and a child). I would definitely come back to Istanbul, and most certainly insist on having Ozlem tour us again!!!

Thanks to Ayse I had a great day in Istambul. I was not only able to see the highlights of the city with very interesting stories behind but also enjoyed great conversations and time together. I could try the local food an cofee with sweets. I also got some tips what to see and where to go after our trip. Thank you!

Ozlem our guide promptly met us at our hotel for our walking tour around Istanbul old city. My wife and I had a great time seeing the sights with in-depth information provided by Ozlem as we walked around Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque and all the interesting surrounding attractions all the way to the Grand Bazaar.
Definitely something to do when visiting Istanbul to make you love this city more.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our Private Tour with Ozlem Aydin. She did an excellent job of giving us the history and stories behind all of the sites we visited. Ozlem even sent us a note to make sure we were ok after the earthquake that occurred just after we left her! We had booked another tour to Cappadocia and Ephesus with Daily Istanbul Tours, and were extremely satisfied. All of the tours and travel arrangements went like clockwork. Thank you again!

Hi we get into Halkali station at 7.40am on 20 July. If we can leave luggage there, could we start the tour there. If not, will the places be open on a Sunday. I’ve read lots about tourist places being closed on Mondays. Is that correct. Many thanks Caroline
Written June 29, 2019
Spice Bazaar aka Egyptian Bazaar is open everyday. The Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays. Dolmabache Palace is closed on Mondays. Best deals for purchases are at the Slice Bazaar.

We are arriving in Istanbul at 3:15 pm. on August 27th. We are looking for a late afternoon evening tour of the high lites of the city. We fly out early on Aug. 28. Can your tour company accommodate us and what is the cost? We would need to be picked up at the airport and after the tour dropped off at our hotel.
Written June 14, 2019
Not sure if a tour would work for you as your landing at 3:15pm and if your landing at Ataturk, plan on at the very least another hour getting through immigration and out of the airport. All attractions close by 5 or 6 pm. Your best bet is to go directly to the Egyptian Spice Bazaar not the Grand Bazaar as prices are slot better on the same things. Take a dinner/cruise along the Bosphorus and see the sights from the water. You’ll be able to see most things. Great food is everywhere so take advantage of that. Another idea is to go to the Hodjapasha whirling dervish show very near to the spice bazaar (Ankara Caddesi Hoca Paşa Hamami Sokak) it’s a beautiful show and the only one that is a World UNESCO event! Use your uber app to get around. It’s very reasonable in Istanbul. As far as night tours, I’m sure they have them but given your window of time, I’m not sure that would be the best bet to see things.
