- cheric2650 contributionsWonderfulAmazing history in Turkey. Incredible ancient sites. Loved the interactive museum at Ephesus. As well as the landscape at the beautiful travertine pools in Pamukkale. Only downside to Pamukkale was the crowds and disrespectful Asians. Our guide Okmen was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodatingWritten October 9, 2024

- Luckydavid790 contributionsOutstanding day with flexible and knowledgeable guideMy teenaged daughter and I booked a half day tour around the historic sites near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. We both have experience with guides while traveling and our day with Experta tours was certainly the best! Our guide Ece was phenomenal. She was filled with detailed knowledge of all the historic, and even modern sites in the area. She was very flexible and happy to linger and discuss every detail, or just give us an overview and move on. Ece not only was a wealth of information regarding specific dates and historical figures, but was eager to share Turkish customs and fun traditions with us as we made our way through the sites or stoped to have coffee and paused to enjoy the scenery. She patiently answered all of my random questions, many having nothing to do with the sites we were visiting. Ece even took the time to help me plan other activities well outside the scope of a guided tour, complete with detailed written directions and metro information. Most importantly she genuinely made us feel welcome and her personality encouraged us to have fun and enjoy whatever we were doing. A little bit of rain? A mosque not open yet? No big deal, just a reason to go see something else beautiful and fascinating first. A truly naturally gifted guide! I cannot recommend this amazing service enough! Thank you Ece and Erkan for providing us with an unforgettable experience!!Written June 12, 2019

He certainly made our visit really interesting and as comprehensive as possible. Thank you so much.Written April 18, 2019

- mrtseckin0 contributionsExcellent tour with a great tour guide!I've participated a one-day tour of Experta which started from Kariye Museum and ended at Ecumenical Orthodox Patriarchate district. Our tour guide Erkan has a great historical background about the ancient Byzantine Empire and today's İstanbul. He also has lots of remarkable tales and ancient myths to share with you between two spots during the tour, so that you never lose your attention and curiosity about what's waiting for you at the next spot:)) If you're plannig to visit İstanbul, I'd definitely recommend you to get in contact with Erkan!!Written December 25, 2018
- kenya_afam0 contributionsGet out of the airport and tour the city! You won't regret it.What an experience! I had one eight hour and one ten hour layover in Istanbul on my trip to and from Sri Lanka. I arranged a city tour for both layovers and had a wonderful experience. The company was accommodating and they allowed me to map out my visit. My tour guide Ece was exceptional and quite the historian; I learned so much. She was funny, kind and extremely professional. Most importantly, Ece knows the city like the back of her hand. It’s amazing how she can navigate the city, the side streets and the markets! I could not have asked for a better tour guide. In 6 hours I visited a Turkish Bath, visited a mosque, strolled through the Bazaar and Spice Market and sat for cups of Turkish coffee. Being that I was traveling solo on both layovers it was also nice to have a female tour guide. It was definitely a memorable visit, one that I will remember for a lifetime! Why stay in the boring airport when you can explore the beautiful city of Istanbul? Turkish airlines provides free tours, but this tour is worth paying for. I promise!Written December 10, 2018
- Rain18000 contributionsGreat way to see IstanbulA friend recommended contacting Erkan for a tour in Istanbul and I’m glad we did! He met us at our hotel and took us on a great trip through the amazing markets, but also adapting it for us to take a detour through the blue mosque area which was not originally planned. He was very accommodating to our requests and pointed out a number of places to eat, things to see and one great pottery store (which I late went back to to buy some wonderful things). He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave a great insight into the things we saw. We also stopped to try and few things within the market like delicious Turkish delight and pickled vegetables with pickle juice (which was surprisingly nice). Towards the end if the tour we wanted to go some rooftop bars and again he recommended some great ones especially a bar called 360 which had amazing views! I would definitely recommend Erkan if you want a great tour in Istanbul as we had a wonderful time!Written September 23, 2018
- Chloe M0 contributions"istanbul on a budget"I was apart of a Gadventures tour in Turkey last October and Erkan was our Guide. Erkan made every part of our trip enjoyable, from the moment we arrived. His knowledge of his homeland is second to none, and he even has a few party trick he may show you if you're lucky. He was always ready to help with planning our free days, recommended the best restaurants to eat and places to visit. He ensured that the whole group were comfortable and always try to join us for dinner. I will most definitely be returning to Turkey with Erkan as my guide!!Written May 11, 2018

- barbarostorun0 contributionsExcellent Guide, Fantastic Tour!!!My wife and I spent two days in Istanbul with our friends. We were warmly welcomed by Erkan from the beginning and there was always a friendly atmosphere where ever we visit. We had a great time and could not have enjoyed it more. Erkan deserves a special thanks, as he was extremely knowledgeable about history, very flexible and highly motivated guide with excellent English. He is very witty and has a great sense of humour. Also, he was making sure that everyone in our group enjoyed the experience. He gave us great recommendations on almost everything to embrace the Turkish culture, especially on food. Many thanks again. I would highly recommend Erkan for anyone visiting Turkey and for sure we would like to meet him again.Written April 17, 2018
- Valcolleoni0 contributionsPerfect Turkish 12 days dream with a special guideMe and my boyfriend travelled in Turkey last summer and we asked Erkan for a taylor made tour of 12 days. We started from Cappadocia and continued across the west coast, finishing in Istanbul, the magic town. All was pefect: from the accomodations to the different sites we visited. We experienced various activities: baloon fire in Cappadocia, towns' tours, archeological excursions, trekking on the lycian way, time and meal with local family and lots of other very interesting things. We falled in love with the Kabak Valley: a paradise place inside the nature and next to the sea for a very relaxed and authentic experience...we suggest it, you have to stay almost 2 nights!!! You won't forget that magic valley! And finally...Istanbul: the atmosphere is special, I think that doesn't exist another city like that in all the world. You can take breakfast in Asia...and lunch in Europe...and have a rest with a hot cup of very tasty tea in front of the Bosforo for a special sunset view. At the end...we want to speak about him: Erkan. He is a simple and handsome man; he knows everything about his country, all the secret places with the best views, the best places where eat tipical dishes and the history...He is an enciclopedia! He can tell you all you want to know about roman empire, ottoman era, greek period etc. He will follow you in every detail of the tour, starting from the organization of your trip until the end of it. Thanks to him we had an Holiday that we will never forget!Written March 31, 2018
- wanderingroach0 contributionsI love these guys. Simply naturalI have used the services of these guys quite a few times. They have an amazing background in international travel. All their staff speak great English and their guides are amongst the best you could ever find in Turkey. They don't look t you like you're a walking-wallet. They take care of you, their ethos is to send you away with an experience beyond your expectations. I've recommended them to all my friends. And wish them the best of luckWritten March 26, 2018

Selcuk Ephesus Tour was an excellent way to go for older adults! We had a great tour guide who really took care of his customers. Our group enjoyed one another and the tour even included an excellent lunch before going on . It was hot but we didn't have to do a lot of climbing and the distance walked was just right. The ruins were unimaginable...a walk into time long ago. The guide gave us historic information that made the ruins reflect the time and understanding of how they lived. Selcuk, where we stayed, was a wonderful moderate city, and staying close to the center of the city square made it enchanting. We stayed at the Selena Hotel which even offered breakfast in the morning and was totally affordable. People were friendly everywhere we went.

Not quite what we were expecting, but Ece was fantastic. She showed us a few places that made the trip and her knowledge of history and passion for the city was second to none. She even helped us into the Ayasofya at the end, which wasn't on the itinerary.

I've been coming to Istanbul for some 40 years and took the history for granted as I'm not one for spending hours looking at every artefact.
But this tour was an eye opener, explaining the back story of this amazing city's history.

Ece was a greatly knowledgeable and personable guide. She laughed a lot. My teenager really enjoyed her while listening to all the history. It was fun going to shops and hotels to see Roman foundations and mosaics. We loved the panoramic view at seven hills where we stopped for coffee. The cistern with the art exhbit was a special treat. .

We did this tour on March 2019, me and my wife. Our guide was Ece. She is an excellent guide, though her job was helped by the subject, fascinating Istanbul. If you are interested in history, you want to do this tour, with Ece.

It was a blind shot if this trip could be good as there very little information.
My daughter and I was happily surprised by our guide that had a kind personality, great knowledge about history and a good sense of humor.
Highly recommended if history has your interest.
