I knew coming into Istanbul, I wanted to experience some sort of 'Food & Wine" tour. As many people, I went to Trip Advisor to get a general feeling of the reviews. This one did not disappoint, I can see why 90+ people have taken the time to give Fukran an amazing review. (please note, at no time does he ever ask to be reviewed on Trip Advisor or google, I'm taking the time because I enjoyed it that much). He really takes the time to get a sense of what you want, and based on the areas he takes you he will do his best to fulfill it. Plus the endless conversation is a plus, it was like hanging out with a local just having some fun eating your way thru town. I am a solo traveller, so for me the food and conversation were lovely. He also answered my endless questions without a hint of being annoyed, and texted me suggestions for the rest of my trip. By reading the reviews, We started with Karkoy, and then headed to the Asian side. The food choices were outstanding. Loved breakfast, Coffee under some beautiful vines. Baklava and ice cream., Yes also a shot. Tried an oyster for the first time, and surprisingly 'lamb intestines', (yeah, I know & I am not a big lamb eater), but it was cooked that well. We ended at our final stop, which again the food choices were bang on. My tour was 10:30am to 3pm. So as far as pricing, yes generally all food tours are expensive, but if you have to let one go to do this, do it. Thank you Fukran for the suggestions and the wonderful day. You well deserve all these wonderful reviews!

We had an amazing holiday in Turkey and most certainly could not have organized such a diverse trip without Furkan's help in these unusual times. We cannot say enough about the professionalism of this travel company from our first contact to the end of our trip. They put together a custom itinerary, designed just for what we were looking for, and made sure everything went as smoothly as possible driver pickups, hotels, guides, etc. Visiting the Hagia Sophia and Suleymaniye Mosque, shopping in the Grand Bazaar, hiking in Cappadocia, and delicious food were the most enjoyable parts of our trip. They arranged tickets for museums and public transportation in advance. They had wifi device waiting for us on arrival at the airport. The quality of the hotel in Cappadocia was excellent. When we were in Cappadocia, they introduced new restrictions that at risk of disrupting our travel. Furkan contacted us immediately and worked over the night to adjust our schedule. Their personal touch was beyond our expectation and I would definitely recommend this travel company to anyone from the US who wants a bespoke holiday experience in Turkey. We have dealt with many travel companies in the past, but this travel agency was simply the best.

Despite the rain, the private and guided Istanbul food tour was terrific, engaging and delicious. The best part of the tour was our guide Furkan, who was so knowledgeable, about food and history and just a nice guy who was fun to be with. It felt like spending a day with a good friend showing us around Istanbul. All the places he took us were great, and the food was the top quality. We sampled cheese, clotted cream, menemen, Turkish pepperoni, kokorec, stuffed mussels, and a huge variety of authentic Turkish cuisines and kunefe dessert. The tour was my highlight of 10 days trip in Turkey. I highly recommend booking this tour early in your stay so you can use your knowledge for the time you are in Istanbul.

I cannot recommend this tour highly enough - if you want to experience the true food of Istanbul, this is the tour to go on. Furkan was absolutely amazing; we had such a laugh with him and his knowledge of the city and its culture was fascinating. I am a solo (female) traveller with only 2 days in Istanbul. I had a great time doing the guided Istanbul food tour with Private Istanbul Walking Tours and would recommend especially for those staying a short period of time. My tour guide was Derya and she took me all around (old city and new city on the European side and the Asian side). We used public transit (which is recommended given heavy congestion) and hit all the touristy as well as local favourites in one day (while eating / tasting all the food of course). I felt well taken care of and also felt like I was hanging out with a friend who also takes great photos.
For the food tour, we tried a mix of street food and dishes at restaurants (some examples include authentic spread of Turkish breakfast, Turkish coffee, intestine sandwich, muscles, pickled veggies, and many more that I do not remember the names of. We also went to Çiya Sofrası, which was featured on Chefs Table, and had a number of dishes there). All the places Derya took me to were authentic and clean. Derya also noted other popular restaurants / destinations etc for me to discover on my own.
I also arranged for pick up from the airport (with an additional fee) and it went smoothly. Derya was waiting for me with a sign and the meeting point was clearly communicated beforehand. The team is responsive and the tour is well laid out (ie they know where to find clean bathrooms etc). I would definitely go on another tour with them next time I am in Turkey.

Our guide (and owner of the company) Furkan was waiting outside of our AirBnb right on time and promptly took us to a delicious Turkish breakfast. It was the beginning of an amazing day of eating great food and learning about Istanbul and Turkey. Furkan is a great guide and even went out of his way to buy gluten free bread for my wife who has an allergy so she could have bread for all the dishes we tried. We went back to a few of the locations in the following days and the employees remembered us and were extremely welcoming. You can tell Furkan has a great relationship with all of these restaurants. We even ran into his wife giving a tour on one of the return visits. You can’t go wrong with this food tour, and I’m sure the same applies for any other tours this company operates!

All our tours with Furkan were phenomenal. Furkan made every single step of the tours easy and stress-free in these challenging times. Our food tasting tour in Istanbul was the most enjoyable and memorable part of our trip that showed us the less-visited parts of the city. We absolutely enjoyed all the main sights we visited in the old city. His personality and knowledge made the days a lot of fun. Turkish hospitality is the best. Also, the food is so tasty everywhere in Istanbul. The itinerary that he put together allowed us to experience the art, culture, history, and culinary of Istanbul. This trip was everything we dreamed of and more. He is one of the best travel organizers that I have ever worked with. He is clearly an expert in his market. We have referred Furkan and his team to other friends and they have had the same experience, this points out that they consistently deliver excellence.

Furkan was recommended by our friends and he did not disappoint. He did a fantastic job planning our trip. He was extremely attentive just like a friend would be. The trip was planned over a 3 week period with emails and WhatsApp calls even there was an 8-hour time difference between Dallas and Istanbul he responded back to me instantly. In 10 days we visited Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, and numerous nearby cities. Our private chauffeur, top-class boutique hotels, the historical sites and towns that we visited, the restaurants, the balanced flavor wine, and delicious Turkish cuisine, the private tours with local guides, and all other experiences such as balloon ride in Cappadocia, traditional Turkish bath treatments in Istanbul that were planned for us created us a trip of a lifetime. It was exactly what we wanted and it far exceeded our expectations. The local guides took us to places that were not visited by many travelers along with the main highlights in the area and the amount of time that we spent in each of the locations was perfect. We can't say enough about hot great they are. We stayed at Yesil Ev hotel in Istanbul 2 minutes from the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, in Cappadocia we stayed at Cappadocia Cave Suits, and in Ephesus, we stayed in Nisanyan Hotel. We loved getting a taste of life in Turkey and enjoyed every minute of our trip to Turkey. We have already recommended Furkan to friends who are planning a trip to Turkey in 2022.

This was my third time to Istanbul, and I was looking for a customized experience centered around food and conversation on a range of modern Turkish topics. Furkan facilitated all that - and much more. He curated the perfect day around eating venues he'd frequent as a local and that I'd have difficulty efficiently accessing on my own. Conversation was rich with chit chat about business, economics, culture and politics. He even provided some guidance on what I should do the next day on my own - I took all his suggestions and they were spot on. Furkan understood exactly what I wanted out of the tour - and delivered beyond my high expectations. I've met some fantastic private guides on each of my trips, so this is saying a lot.

We've toured with Private Istanbul Walking Tours and Furkan for 3 days in Istanbul in January and found outstanding value and service. Each day has been wonderful, full of learning and discovery moments. We loved the city and the friendly nature of the people. The unique things we did were wonderful and highlighted was the grand bazaar it has to be one of the most beautiful shopping paradises in the world. Furkan was a huge part of why we enjoyed our trip to Istanbul as much as we did. Furkan was not only knowledgeable about Istanbul he was always so patient with all of our questions and last-minute changes and he had such a good sense of humor. He gave us lots of information and really made Istanbul come alive. We would not hesitate to recommend Private Istanbul Walking Tour to anyone.

Hi We will be staying at Mr Cas Hotel Istikial Cadessi Beyoglu. Would we be collected and returned to our Hotel please? Where does the Tour start and finish please? Trip Advisor advertises the Tour at approximately
TRY475 but when I apply to book it increases to approximately TRY758 nearly double. That seems way out I would suggest.

Hi, bit of a silly question, does the price mentioned cover the cost of all the food we eat or are we just taken to the places and we have to pay for the food?

Price covers all food and transportation.
An amazing deal. Really it was an abundance of fabulous food.

I am sure this is fine; we had a mix of things including vegetarian. I would let the tour guide know in advance so they can ensure they select the best places to accommodate this focus. He is really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
