- jocooper19670 contributionsDon’t miss this tour of Istanbul! This was one of the best tours I have been on. Our guide Alize was absolutely excellent - very open, friendly and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. Alize went the extra mile and invited me and my husband to join the full day tour people for a traditional Turkish lunch and it was delicious and a nice way to get to know your fellow travelers. 10/10 😊Written July 23, 2024

- R4985DCmichaelw0 contributionsGreat experience! This was a fantastic tour. My dad and I had a great time. Burak was our tour guide. He was excellent. As a history teacher, it was a dream come true. Strongly recommend it. From the food at Anka Palace Cuisine to Hagia Sophia, well worth it.Written June 10, 2024

- CityTrails0 contributionsAvoid the Medine Kuruyemiș ShopAvoid this shop at all cost! After quoting me one price when choosing the teas and spice, the owner, a fast- talking young man, charged me TRIPLE the price. Slices were already vacuum seated and bags written on. Felt awkward to walk away and cause a scene. The worst swindle of my life. Bait and switch sales techniques like this are what give Turkey a bad image. AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COST.Written May 20, 2024
- S1961GKpaulm0 contributionsA History LessonReally enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Sema, was a wealth of knowledge and very engaging throughout the whole tour. Firstly we visited the Topkapi Palace which was quite extensive and very interesting. We then went the Hagia Sofia. Sema already had our tickets so only a short time in the queue. She told us all the history of this quite majestic place. The history of this building is monumental. This was the joy the trip for us. Then we visited the Blue Mosque and managed to get in before the prayers. Very interesting especially when you hear how many blue tiles there are in the building. Shows off, of course :) Sema then took us for a tasty lunch before we finished our tour firstly with some Knowledge of the Hippodrome and finally at the Grand bazaar where she gave us another wonderful history lesson about the place. All in all a great tour. The best on our short trip to Istanbul. Thanks Sema 👍Written April 6, 2024
- C408TRlenaa0 contributionsGreat ExperienceWe had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide came to our hotel and guided us all the way. He was really knowledgeable and knew his city so well. Gave us all the details and history surrounding each attraction. He also walked back to our hotel with us and gave us recommendations for places to eat and other activities to do. We were really happy with this tour!Written March 26, 2024
- Jennie0180 contributionsWeird food choicesWe paid extra to travel in Mint and I found the seat uncomfortable when reclined. The footrest didn’t support my legs when reclined partly, so my feet hung over (I’m only 5’4”). If I adjusted by reclining further , I couldn’t see the screen easily. Also the food choices were weird. 2 apps (salad and orzo salad so I chose chicken as a main, thinking it would come with a vegetable and potato. No. Just a pice of chicken in a sauce. Odd. By the time I deplaned, I was hungry. The price was good but Mint won’t be my favorite business class of choice.Written February 16, 2024
- Marf136690 contributionsThe aromas, colors, and cornucopia of items will put your brain on overload.Built in 1664, as part of the mosque complex, the Spice Market (in Turkish - Mısır Çarşısı) is one of the largest in the world. It is colorful, fragrant and lots of fun. Some of the vendors stand in front of their stalls offering free samples of Turkish Delight, Baklava, and other delectables. I have never seen so many different colors of olives. Spices strange to us include sumac, dried red pepper flakes, pomegranate sauce, black cumin, and Turkish saffron (dried safflower).Written December 20, 2023
- Scenic186575581650 contributionsHighly recommended tour!Burak, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accomodating. Very proficient in English, our 8 hour tour flew by as we were able to see all the major sites with much information provided but at a great pacing as to not get overwhelmed. Lunch is included and the food was delicious! Highly recommended.Written December 13, 2023

- kristinebJ4329SZ0 contributionsCooking experience a must!We had the best tour with our guide, Tugba with Karavan Tours! She took us on a 2-hour walking tour through Ephesus in the morning before it got too hot. All 4 of us had been to Ephesus before with a large tour group. With Tugba we learned so much more because, since there were only 4 of us, we could hear well and ask questions. After Ephesus we were taken to a restaurant with a beautiful outdoor location. We were taught how to make a few Turkish dishes which we ate for lunch along with many other Turkish dishes. It was a quiet and relaxed meal just for us and our guide. After lunch we saw how the beautiful Turkish rugs were made. We also saw how silk worms create silk and how it is woven. Our final stop was a shop where they make homemade baklava and Turkish delight, as well as olive oil and other typical Turkish gifts. Great Day! Thank you, Tugba!
