- D8862IWcameronm0 contributionsAmazing experience visiting GallipoliWe have just finished our private 2-day tour from Istanbul with Hassle Free Travel to Gallipoli/Çanakkale and we absolutely LOVED every second of it. We were SO INCREDIBLY fortunate to have the services of a wonderful guide (Ercan Yavuz) who was just amazing! When we first booked this tour, we knew roughly what we wanted to do but Hassle Free also made recommendations to us, which we gladly went with. As an Aussie family of 4, it was important to us to visit not only the sites that are so well known back home but also to visit other locations and pay our respects to all of those who fought. Whilst we managed to get in a huge amount over the 2 days, it has left us wanting to come back and do more. The sites associated with the Gallipoli Campaign were just incredible and to get a first-hand glimpse at these locations was unforgettable. Adding on to that was the fact that we were able to visit Troy/Troia on the first afternoon, which we all just loved! Our guide Ercan was such an incredible part of our experience and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND requesting his services. His love and passion for what he does is obvious at every given moment - it is clear he wants visitors to have 'the experience' but he wants to ensure everyone leaves feeling completely satisfied. One of his first questions was whether we had any immediate connection to men who had served and whether we had a desire to find a particular resting place. When I mentioned that my great grandfather had come ashore on 25th April 1915 and which regiment he had served in, he knew and had immediate insight into things to see and places to go. As a History teacher myself, I feel like I have a good background about the locations of Gallipoli and what took place in each but his insights and specialised knowledge truly blew me away. He always wove tales of his experiences as a guide, working with different individuals, families, large groups and foreign dignitaries into what he shared with us at the many sites we visited. He would often share anecdotal stories from the time of the events in 1915, giving us a closer connection to the men serving at the front. Ercan was also incredibly warm and good with our teenage boys; he made sure to offer accounts of situations that could allow them to appreciate the horrors of the conflict for both sides whilst also helping them to more fully appreciate why the events mattered so much for all nations involved. He really did an amazing job and I would GLADLY go on another tour with him if I were even given the opportunity. Just as a little side note - the transportation from Istanbul was great...very easy and convenient in terms of pick up and drop off. Everything was very well organised in regards to food (lunch both days was delicious) ferry transportation across the Dardanelles was easy and enjoyable and our accommodation in Çanakkale was wonderful with a great dinner and breakfast (DoubleTree by Hilton). Thank you to Hassle Free and Ercan - we had such an amazing experience!Written November 2, 2023
- enjeekay0 contributionsA lesson from historyA touching place to learn about the history and the tragedy that happened to the brave soldiers. The marked cemetery has tombstones with touching messages, but none were sure if the bodies were buried there as some were lost at sea and some on land.Written October 16, 2023
- Graham S0 contributionsSouth eastern Turkey . Seeing the parts of Turkey not many Australians see.We had a good experience . We saw the real old history of Turkey. The guides were good / the food was good/ we liked the bazaars and markets as they were not as busy as Jnstanbul and more authentic.Written September 25, 2023
- lyndat6330 contributionsFantastic tripVery informative trip. Hulya's knowledge was incredible. It more than exceeded our expectations. Standing in the terrain, Hulya brought the scene to life. Glad we had sun hats with us and plenty of sun screen. The air conditioning in the bus was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend this tour to others.Written September 21, 2023

The private bus transfer was also comfortable, which we appreciated as we were travelling from 4 hours away for the tour. We would definitely recommend Hassle Free Travel. The staff were very helpful in booking and we really enjoyed it.Written September 17, 2023

- 942belindas0 contributionsGreat tour of TroyBooking our tour of Troy through Hassle free travel as the name suggests was straight forward. Our friendly guide met us as agreed at the port and took us by private vehicle to Troy which was around 30 minutes drive away. The guides knowledge of the site and explanations of it were excellent. We really enjoyed our visit.Written August 29, 2023
- 719karenaf0 contributionsAbsolutely wonderful experienceWe had the BEST experience with Aykut. We ended up having a private tour as the only guests for the day. Aykut was a fabulous story teller. We loved visiting the Troy museum the most. We learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed our day. It’s worth every penny and I recommend this tour a million times over!!Written August 14, 2023

- Phil-Joel0 contributionsA must do.The only negative feedback I have is lunch, as I would have preferred a more traditional Turkish meal. That aside the whole day was a great day out. The morning pick up was punctual, the 2 different vans were comfortable & the 2 guides (Burak for Troy & Gagn for Gallipoli) very personable & informative. I learned a lot about Troy from Burak & the passion from Gagn on Gallipoli was felt by all. Please keep up the good work.Written July 15, 2023
- MaBCDC0 contributionsOur only and *best* tour in all Turkiye. We had trouble with our hotel and they, not only helped us, but offered us an *amazing* tour around the memorials of Gallipoli. Hülya was really nice and attentive and Arjan was an outstanding guide. Everything was organized, timing was perfect, and we had lots of fun. One month already passed and I have the certainty I will never forget that day 😄.Written July 11, 2023

My trip with Hassle Free Travel was more than hassle free, it was exceptional!
The administration and communication (in fluent English) were outstanding. The transport to and from Istanbul, and on the two tours, was wonderfully comfortable. The hospitality at Helen Hotel was first-rate, specifically the hygiene and cleanliness, important factors currently (Covid). Our base on the Gallipoli peninsula was the Maydos Restaurant, a beautiful establishment overlooking the Dardanelles with easy access to all the battlefields and beaches (and ferries to Canakkale).
The history of the city of Troy, that is nearly 5000 years old, is understandably complex. My guide here (Ercan) is an expert and an avid historian who provided wonderful content and context. Truly fascinating.
The Gallipoli Campaign and its role in World War I and the rise of Mustafa Kemal, was covered in two days. Opa (guide), provided briefings for each day, showed extra information and detail on his tablet, provided uncomplicated detail at each site, and allowed personal space to appreciate where we were. His professional, personalised, and passionate approach was deeply appreciated.
I have no hesitation in promoting and recommending Hassle Free Travel.

This was my first visit to the Gallipoli battlefields. Hanafi made the transportation, food, and lodging arrangements truly "Hassle Free". Arcan, my tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and really helped to paint the picture of the battle as we walked the terrain. He was also great at recommending books and other reference material to learn more about the battle. Day Two was somewhat limited due to the closure of the Naval Museum during the pandemic, but exploring the town of Çanakkale was an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

I have just returned from Gallipoli with my family ( husband and 2 adult sons) following a battlefield tour of the Gallipoli peninsula aimed at understanding the campaign in which my Great Uncle was killed in June 1915. Having reviewed the various options available, we decided to book our tour with Hassle Free Tours who are based in Canakkale very close to the battlefields. This proved to be an excellent decision as every aspect of their service was first class and they certainly deserve their 5-star rating. The booking process is straightforward, following which we quickly received clear and helpful information regarding the programme and the arrangements. All subsequent questions were fully and promptly answered and Hassle Free also made every effort to ensure that we were able to visit locations that were relevant to my Great Uncle’s part in the campaign. Their service included a text 24 hours before travelling with a 24/7 number in case of difficulties on arrival. However, we needn’t have worried as we were met, as arranged, at Istanbul airport, and all subsequent transport arrangements were fantastic throughout. Our guide was Ercan who arrived at our hotel each day exactly as scheduled and he proved to be a fantastic guide. Absolutely passionate about all aspects of the campaign, he is extremely knowledgeable about every aspect and answered questions in an extremely helpful way. He was exceptionally flexible with respect to the time spent at each of the locations and went out of his way to ensure that we made the most of the time that we had available. I would wholehearted recommend the use of this company without reservation.

Abdurrahim Boz, and the team from Hassel Free Tours, Canakkale, went above and beyond my requests and expectations. I had specific requests where I wanted to walk, see and experience and Apo made sure he covered all my requests and more! Walking Anzac Cove beach, where ANZACs landed, standing where the Ottoman Empire soldiers stood, hearing explanations of landings, timing, battles and stories of real men, allowed my heart to be enriched by both accounts of this part of WWI history. Thank you Abdurrahim for going the extra mile for my Gallipoli experience.

We enjoyed every aspect of this tour and are pleased we chose to do the three day in depth tour as it's a long way to come and you miss out on so much trying to fit it all into one day. The accommodation and lunches which were included in the tour were excellent. We were also very lucky to have our guide, Apo, to ourselves on the second day which enabled him to customize our tour to what he felt interested us most. He was very good at showing the Turkish side and the Anzac side. We were unsure of exactly what to expect before we left on our trip but Apo and Hassel Free tours exceeded our expectations.

Our Guides Apo, Ercan and Mustafa, were experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. The Gallipoli, war graves and landing beaches were impressive. As were the Turkish museums, memorials. It was very in depth and the personal guides made it easy to understand and ask questions. Finding my great Uncles grave at Lone Pine was easy as we had the information of his row number and plot. We were given time to spend at the grave site which was very much appreciated. The whole experience was emotional, informative and respectful. Would recommend Hassle Free Travel for this experience.
