Just returned from a 9 days Sri Lanka trip organized by Traumland Tours. Fantastic services and arrangements starting right at the airport upon arrival where we received garlands and VIP reception. That was even when we arrived in the wee hours of the morning! Aside from the well planned iternary where we managed see a wide variety of wildlife, historical monuments and taste savoury local delights, Dilhan (our traumland tour guide) provided above and beyond services by providing personalized service based on our needs and is very knowledgeable in SriLanka history and wildlife. My wife left her jacket at the day 1 hotel and he made special arrangements to get it back to her just before we return to Singapore. Traveling around Sri Lanka was extremely comfortable with Sumedha (our driver) and Newton (Assistant Tour guide) always looking our for us in terms of safety and hygiene, especially when our children are crossing the road or stopping by the roadside to taste local delights or fruits. They even brought a knife to cut water melon along the way when they knew our children loved water melon! Dilhan was especially patient with kids, answering all the questions that they had throughout the trip! I highly recommend Traumland tours when visiting Sri Lanka, especially those with young children!

My son called Dylan "the best tour guide ever." That sums up our experience. We did a 9 day tour covering dhamballa, sirigiriya, Kandy, Little England, Yala, Bettota, Galle and Columbo. Did everything from picking tea leaves to eating wood apple and fresh fruits, catching elephants and leopards....Dylan, Sumedha (driver) and Newton (assistant) took really good care of my family.

Dylan is a wonderful host and took our extended family of 16 on an amazing 9 days tour of Sri Lanka. He and his team spared on efforts to retrieve lost items, made us comfortable and the children entertained with their weird request like random watermelon 🍉 farm tours!

We had an idea of what to do and see, and together with Traumland Tours we set an itinerary to our 13 days tour in beautiful Sri Lanka. Already during the planning of the tour, Traumland Tours showed patience and flexibility as our plans changed a few times. We had a privilege to have Mr. Mindika as our guide and Mr. Nihal as our driver. Mr. Mindika is a very high-level professional guide with immaculate service, friendly and helpful with passion to share his never ending knowledge about Sri Lanka. He walks the extra mile every day ensuring that everything is in order. Talked to the restaurants to ensure we get the “Sri Lanka” spicy food. Mr. Nihal is an excellent driver with a calm that is needed through sometimes very busy traffic and tricky roads. We felt always very safe as he drove us around Sri Lanka. We appreciate the flexibility and patience both showed throughout the whole tour. During our tour two of our family members had birthday and Mr. Mindika and Mr. Nihal had a surprise both days. We got to celebrate with birthday cakes and “party van”, such a wonderful and caring gesture. The tour exceeded all our expectations, our heartfelt thanks to Traumland Tours. We hope to be back one day.

Originally sceptics of tours, Traumland far exceeded our expectations. We would recommend them for your Sri Lanka adventure! Here’s what worked well for us. 1. Lots of flexibility and autonomy in the itinerary and during the trip. Our preferences were fully respected and incorporated (e.g. include whale watching, staying in preferred hotels) from the onset and during the trip. 2. High level of professionalism of our guide (also driver and eventual good friend) Dilhan. His passion and love for the country is truly infectious and inspiring. Ever reliable, responsible and knowledgeable, he took such good care of us, just like one would when a close friend visits your country. 3. Care for the animals, environment and doing the right things. Traumland is very forward in their sustainability mindset, consistent with their love for the country. They choose to work with operators who share the same belief. It gives us comfort that we minimised damage to the environment as we explored this beautiful country.

Traumland were superb! Mindika our guide and Nihal our driver were fantastic. They put together a bespoke tailor-made 10 day itinerary for our multi-gen family of six, with two kids under 11 and grandparents too. It was a great round trip across the whole island from West to East and we saw so many highlights and experiences. The trip was well put together, all hotels a good standard. The trip was well paced and never felt rushed. Mindika was a fabulous guide, so friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Nihal deserves a special mention for his impeccable driving through some very tricky terrain at times, and we always felt safe. I thoroughly appreciate the dedication and care that went into making our best family holiday yet! We very much hope to come back to Sri Lanka soon and explore the other areas we couldn’t squeeze in this time. Thoroughly recommend Traumland!

The Hidden Beauty tour with Mindika was wonderful. His knowledge of Sri Lanka nature and history and culture is extensive and met all my expectations. There was a good balance of outdoor activities, seeing animals and birds in their natural environment as well as very comfortable high standard hotels with great local food choices. It was a good introduction and I hope I can join this company again on another trip in future

I cannot express how fantastic this day was. My guide Dylan was absolutely wonderful. From start to finish he was a wonderful companion and very knowledgable guide. I highly recommend this trip to anyone but especially to those who may be travelling alone. As a single woman, I felt fully entertained, educated, safe and had an absolutely brilliant day. I cannot wait to do more tours with Dylan in the future!

My husband and I went on a 12-day adventure all over Sri Lanka with Dilhan, and we couldn't have asked for a better trip planner and guide. Even though he's super experienced - evident from the many fun facts and stories he shared with us about everything from local history to wildlife - Dilhan still maintains an infectious sense of enthusiasm and passion. He's very responsive, punctual, resourceful, and just a really fun person to be around. We also enjoyed having Nihal as our driver. His van is spacious and clean, and we always felt safe no matter the road conditions. We're already dreaming of our next trip with Traumland - thank you for showing us around your beautiful country and we can't wait to come back for more soon!

Whole trip was planned perfectly and according to our wishes. The Guide and the Jeep Driver were so experienced and proffesional, a real nature lovers. We took so many photos, spotted more than 30 elephants, no to mention other species as jackals, buffalos, crocodiles and so many birds. The trip was both adventurous and comfortable plus I was feeling super safe. This was my first time in Sri Lanka and when I will be back I am choosing the same company.

Mindika Dilhan is an exceptional tour guide. From the planning of our trip and throughout our entire trip he always went “that extra mile” to ensure our time in this amazing country would be enjoyable, memorable and stress-free. He succeeded 100%. Dilhan was well organised, enthusiastic, talented, knowledgeable, caring, fun, highly professional… and a genuinely lovely guy. A very careful and safe driver. Dilhan always discussed and explained our Itinerary at both ends of the day. He also checked out each hotel, its facilities, our room and food requirements. On occasion talking to the Chef to ensure our food was “not too spicy”! Each one of our eleven hotels was first class. The hospitality exceptional. We are seasoned travellers and this trip was one of our best. Thank you Dilhan. We miss you. Five stars … and more!

My wife and I spent a wonderful 4 weeks touring this amazing country with Traumland Tours. Communication from the start of our planning right through the process was excellent, emails were answered quickly and they were so helpful. Our main contact was the owner Mindika Dilhan, he suggested the itinerary and hotels, we wanted mainly 2 night stays, he gave us a comprehensive package which included hotels on b&b, all entry fees, wildlife safaris and the services of a qualified guide/driver throughout our visit. It represented great value for money! Dilhan himself was our guide and he was amazing, great knowledge, excellent English and such a lovely guy. We had an amazing 4 weeks everything went to plan, the hotels he’d recommended were as good as we’ve stayed in anywhere in the world and he was sensitive to our needing the occasional chilled afternoon. In summary, this was one of the best trips we’ve ever had made possible by the professionalism and knowledge of Dilhan and Traumland. Don’t consider any other operator for Sri Lanka!!

We were a group of 4 (2 couples) from Germany who did a 12 day trip across Sri Lanka with Traumland. I can only say positives about the whole experience: Before the trip: Mindika and his team were extremely responsive, tailored the itinerary to our needs, answered all the required questions and were good at following up to ensure a successful start to our journey. During the trip: 1. We had a wonderful guide, Tharindu. He is a gentle soul and extremely nice to travel with. He is very caring towards his guests and cautious, has a good sense of humor and can take a joke as well! Tharindu represents Sril Lanka very well and added to our overall positive experience of the trip, the people, the culture, the vibe and the country as a whole. A true 10/10 person. 2. Every trip has challenges, it's the way a tour operator reacts during these challenges that sets them apart. we had one big challenge that came on this trip where there was a disagreement, and the way Mindika and Tharindu reacted to the situation was exemplary. Wish all tour operators react like Traumland. 3. Overall, the trip was very well planned to fit the itinerar we wanted to execute. When there were delays, planned or unplanned, alternate strategies were created to make up for lost time. I have no hesitation in recommending Traumland for anyone planning to visit Sri Lanka.
