Unfortunately we did not see any animals in the cat family, but we saw a jackal, elephants, peacocks, monkeys, crocodiles, mongoose, land monitors, deer, painted storks, and so many other birds and animals. The lunch, served buffet style, was very good. Even my picky husband found food he could eat. Henry set up a WhatsApp group for our tour, and keep us informed. Henry was very responsive from the time we booked until we took the tour. I would not hesitate for one moment to recommend Henry and Merganser tours. He went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience in Sri Lanka and make our 2 week stay smooth sailing throughout. An example of him going the extra mile was when he was willing to drive back to pick up our passports on our behalf which we had left at our previous hotel, a 3 hour journey for him. He collected us from Colombo airport and took us to our hotel, where we stayed for 2 nights before commencing our 11-day tour. At the sites where a guide was needed, this was arranged by Merganser on our behalf. We found Henry to be affable and friendly and he took us to restaurants and spas that were safe and hygienic. I was a tad nervous traveling solo as a woman but Henry made sure I was safe and had his watchful eyes on me, and gave me advise at each location.. He picked me up from the airport, drove me around for 6 days around Srilanka and he made Srilanka come alive. His knowledge of its culture, its people, its history, its geography was amazing. He had excellent spoken English and he customized my tour. Henry is passionate about his job – he has a love for his country, and is a shining example of a Srilankan. The contact and planning of the trip with the company went smoothly. Based on the places we wanted to visit, we were provided with a day-to-day itinerary. Sir Henry Lionel drove very safely while also telling a lot of interesting information about the country. He is reliable and punctual. Things like safaris or transport to Horton Plains were also arranged by him, which ensures that you can relax during your holiday without having to arrange too much. The car is clean and well maintained. The price is fixed, and there are no hidden costs. - hopkinst20180 contributionsa good time in NgeomboI went to Negombo in Sri Lanka on the 14th of June until the 29th of June we stayed at the Beach Apartments in Negombo it was a very nice place to stay we had a lovely Apartment with all with everything in it that we needed and the staff and manager were very polite and helpful if i were to go back I would stay there again as it was also a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants near by and the everyone was very friendly there was a great restaurant right by us called Edwin's good food and drink and cheap we went there several times and it was my husbands 70th Birthday and they made a fuss of us and even presented us with a cake which was a very gesture .Written July 13, 2024

The booking process was very smooth with Henry who was very willing to help accommodate what we wanted with clear and friendly communication throughout. We booked a hotel room through Merganser which was also completed smoothly with no issues on arrival. A friendly tour guide named Senal welcomed us at the airport and drove well throughout. He was more than willing to accommodate our timings and give us recommendations. We had a 24 hour hotline to use if we needed to (we did not) so it was nice to know we had that failsafe too just in case.Written June 29, 2024

When I needed to buy local chilli sauce to bring back home he drove to a large supermarket. He also helped me select the brands when I bought chocolates and chips. I had to arrange my time properly as I was heading to multiple locations and Henry was always on standby. Henry is steady, approachable, service- oriented, obliging. Very trustworthy and I’m very glad to have had him on this trip to bring me around! Will be back again hopefully with family next round!Written May 2, 2024

First time in Srilanka, pristine and beautiful island country. Our six days trip started from bentota. Henry was thorough professional. His driving skills were commendable, given the traffic conditions in Sri Lanka. He wasn’t insistent on things to do and flexible to shows us around places on our request.
Overall, our Sri Lankan road travel experience was fun and safe. Thanks to Henry. I would highly recommend his tour and guide service, if anyone would like to visit Sri Lanka in future.
