About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Quest469287419820 contributionsWatch out for the whales.First thing to know is whales are unpredictable. We found out that we actually went during the off season for whale watching, but saw plenty of dolphins. Disappointing that we didn't see whales, but our driver made the day. He said to call him DC, which he said was short for his name which we would never be able to pronounce, and told us all about the culture and history of Sri Lanka. After a fantastic lunch on the beach, we visited a turtle sanctuary. I thought originally we would be able to swim (which seemed to be what was advertised) but we were able to see baby and rescued sea turtles. On the bad side there is also a "shopping tour" where you visit a moonstine mine, which is interesting, a spice farm and a tea shoppe. All of these have opportunities to buy, but the moonstone jewelry store was a bit high pressure. And be prepared for an all day adventure as we started at 4 in the morning and return around 5 in the evening. Overall, we had a great time and recommend you do too, but schedule between April and August for better chances of seeing the whales!Written September 22, 2024
- 129fahdk0 contributions10 day holiday in Sri LankaOn a close friend's advice, I chose Lanka Tours, and it was the best decision ever! I hired a Toyota Coaster bus with a driver and assistant. From the get-go, I was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism. The director patiently waited for us at the airport, greeted us warmly, and showed us to the vehicle, which was spotless and looked brand new. The hire fee was very reasonable, especially since it included both a driver and an assistant. The driver was highly experienced, and we always felt safe in his hands. The assistant, Kavidu, was incredibly attentive, always available, and by our side. He was an excellent tour guide, using his vast connections to get us into exclusive places, like a premium hotel with breathtaking views of Little Adam's Peak. The tour was well organized and friendly. Kavidu went out of his way to help, always available at short notice and staying with us until midnight every day. He was dependable, knowledgeable, and friendly-truly amazing!Written July 22, 2024
- czarrrrrr0 contributionsVery highly recommended!Had a really great time in Galle area. Beautiful place. This tour was awesomely executed, and the driver (and his son) and the tour agency owner were very helpful, friendly and accommodating.Written April 23, 2024
- sharondaw480 contributionsKnowledgeable and EnjoyableMy driver was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He drove safely. The car was clean and AC to keep me cool. I visited many temples to experience the cultural life. I ate at a wonderful restaurant for lunch. We able to go to a store for survivors.Written April 7, 2024
- j_hannamar_aj20240 contributionsUnforgettable Galle Tour: A Day with DeshanWe went on a tour to Galle, and it exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Deshan, was simply amazing. His knowledge of the area, coupled with his friendly demeanor, made the experience truly memorable. The stops along the way were diverse, offering insights into the rich history and culture of Galle. From exploring the iconic Galle Fort to visiting jungle beach and a sea turtle conservation center. It was truly a great day, thanks to Deshan and the well-planned itinerary. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the beauty of Galle!Written March 19, 2024
- Voyager093687749610 contributionsIncredible experience thank you!So amazing. Thank you so much, we had a great day. Very knowledgable and super helpful. If you are thinking of doing a safari go ahead and book! Incredible thanks so much!Written March 16, 2024
- P2927UGbernardr0 contributionsServiceGreat services. Codiinating and contacting was very easy. All the pickup were on time. The staffs were friendly and very efficient.Written February 17, 2024
- izs060 contributionsBeautiful temples !The driver was very knowledgeable of Hindi and Buddhists temples. The sights were fantastic. Even though the tour online it says approx 6 hours, we were informed that is actually 4 hours of tour then 1 hour of shopping which was not in the description. We did 4 1/4 hours and were exhausted, so it’s the right amount of touring. We recommend this tour.Written January 15, 2024
- tiac4720 contributionsAmazing Tour on our honeymoonMy husband and I went on the tour in October while we were on our honeymoon. Deshan was our tour guide and he was great! It was a long day but we got to see so much ans Deshan was very flexible. We had such an amazing memorable time and definitely got our money's worth! I would recommend this tour to anyone!Written December 31, 2023
- 38TravelLover380 contributionsThis is the best memory I will never forget! This agency truly respected my feelings and intentions, allowing me to enjoy my time at my own pace. Mr. Tharindu, my guide, also took plenty of photos for me. I already miss Sri Lanka and I'd love to spend more time there. Hope I can go back there again so soon! If I were to point out one thing, it was regrettable that I felt pressured to purchase at the gem & jewelry shop. But they became beautiful souvenirs for my mom and me. Apart from this, everything else was truly perfect. Mr. Tharindu was a very kind, attentive, and careful person. He took care of me a lot! And the scenery in Galle was breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves the sea, nature, and animals! This is the best memory I will never forget.Written October 27, 2023
- andytY3488TF0 contributionsAction packed day tripWe had a fantastic day trip to Galle as a family group of 8. Our guide DC was friendly and knowledgeable and we packed a huge amount into the day. Lunch on the beach was tasty, and the highlight of the day was a visit to the turtle hatchery. The walk down to jungle beach was too challenging for some of our party but the rest of us enjoyed a quick dip in the sea. Be prepared to spend a few dollars on souvenirs or donations at each stop and you will enjoy the experiences more!Written October 24, 2023
- 771mathewa0 contributionsMild interesting, largely disappointingUnfortunately our tour to Galle was overshadowed with poor weather but I've taken that into consideration with this review. The stilt fisherman site was just for show, they are just acting and was therefore disappointing. The Galle fort was mildly interesting as was the tsunami picture museum. One of the stops was at a herb garden where we were sat down, handed a catalogue of products and a pencil and asked to awkwardly sit through a sales pitch of medicinal plants products we might like to buy, where we could mark our catalogue when they spoke about a product we might like to purchase. We included lunch in our package, where the staff were rude when paying up. The highlight was stopping past the turtle sanctuary, where we saw baby turtles a few days old and some of the older ones too. We were a bit concerned about the driving standard.Written October 1, 2023
- SivaRam9410 contributionsUpcountry and Yala safari experienceWe went on a two day tour of Ella and Yala National park with Lanka tours. We did brief stopovers in Kandy Dalada, Peradeniya university, Ramboda falls, Tea estate and tea tasting, Nuwaraeliya Eliya (Sita Eliya temple) along the way. Breathtaking sceneries, water falls, mountains and activities. Deshan was our guide and ensured we covered everything we wanted to see and do. Absolutely brilliant tour and excellent service by the tour company. In Ella, we did zip line ride, mini Sri pada climb, Ravana cave, stroll in Ella town dining and shopping areas, nine arch bridge. But if you want to do it in two days, be prepared to start early on the first day and finish late on the second day. It is well worth your two days and keeping yourselves active.Written August 23, 2023
- jessicasW9357YO0 contributionsGreat experienceReally great experience, you can visit the main points of the south-west coast and get in touch with Sri Lanka history. Best parts for sure Tsunami museum and turtles hatchery. Or maybe the lunch by the sea and the jungle beach! Great our guide that explained us really well all the things.Written August 15, 2023

We had a wonderful tour of Colombo with our guide, Chamika. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city. We visited several temples where Chamika provided very detailed explanations for what we were seeing. After a delicious lunch we visited the Lotus Tower and Independence Square; followed by a driving tour of the city as we made our way back to our cruise ship.
The transportation was a very nice air conditioned van with ample space for the four of us. Our pick-up at the port was especially convenient; we were met inside the port near the end of the gangway. This was a very nice surprise!
Thanks again to Camika and Lanka Tours for a special day in Colombo

Me and my partner had a lovely trip yesterday. We were picked up on time by our tour guide Subash, the car was air conditioned and clean. Subash was very attentive and even made a detour at the end as we had already seen one of the temples. Water was provided in the car and he drove safely and was extremely informative and was happy to answer all our questions. The highlight of the trip was the visit to the Buddhist Temple in Kelaniya this was turkey beautiful.
Thank you Subash for a wonderful trip.

Our driver was at the ship on time so no delays. Car provided was clean and comfortable for my wife and I. We visited all of the temples and other places. Our driver taking us on personal tours of each place we visited. He was very good and attentive and I am sorry that I can't spell his name. We were last in Colombo in 1984 and it was interesting to see how some things had changed and other things remained the same. The lunch venue was very good but be aware that nearly all of the food offered is either a curry or similar. All in all a good day and no problem with recommending this tour

Good tour if you have one day in Sri Lanka. It allows you to visit most important sights in Colombo and enjoy Sri Lankan buffet lunch at Rajabojun Grand Buffet. My guide and driver Nimal was exceptional.

The temples and history of Sri Lanka were good to see, and the guide was quite knowledgeable on the temples. The guide (who was also the driver) spoke excellent English, was a very good and safe driver and had a lot of local knowledge.
I also enjoyed most of the shopping, especially the Laksala.
The only thing to be aware of, is some of the shopping is where they take you to a single shop and the shop tries to pressure you in to buying expensive items at triple the cost they would charge locals - although if you enjoy this type of shopping, then no issues.
