- jonesj8330 contributionsSnow Lake Hispar La Trekdid the Snow Lake Hispar La trek, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable adventures I've ever had. The trail winds through the heart of the Karakoram, offering views that are both humbling and breathtaking. Each day, I found myself surrounded by towering peaks, vast stretches of snow, and the serene, almost surreal beauty of Snow Lake itselfa massive, glistening expanse of ice that feels like something out of a dream. The trek isn’t easy; it really tests your physical endurance with steep ascents and unpredictable weather. But every challenging step is rewarded with moments of pure wonder and a sense of peaceful solitude that’s hard to find anywhere else. It’s a place where you can truly disconnect from the everyday and reconnect with nature on a deeper level. If you’re up for a challenge and ready to be awed by some of the most stunning landscapes on Earth, I’d definitely recommend giving the Snow Lake Hispar La trek a try with Vertical explorers. It’s an adventure that stays with you long after you’ve returned home.Written February 9, 2025
- Y9804YTbenj0 contributionsK2 base camp trek 2024Last September, I did the K2 Base Camp trek and it was an unforgettable experience. The trek was definitely challenging, but the breathtaking views of K2 and the surrounding peaks made every tough moment worthwhile. One of the highlights was waking up early to see the sunrise cast a golden glow over the mountains—it was truly magical. A few tips from my journey: take your time and let your body acclimatize; don't rush the pace even if you're excited to reach the base camp. Pack plenty of layers because the weather can change quickly, and make sure you have sturdy trekking boots and extra snacks for long days on the trail. Staying hydrated is also key. Our guide was knowledgeable and helped ensure we stayed safe and on track, which made a big difference. Overall, if you’re up for a physical challenge and a bit of adventure, the K2 Base Camp trek is an experience you won’t forget. Enjoy every step and take in all the incredible scenery along the way!Written February 6, 2025
- ch0c0ll0 contributionsMy Snow Lake Hispar La Trek, eewarding and full of heartWalking across Snow Lake feels like stepping onto another planet—just miles of white, surrounded by jagged peaks. Crossing the Hispar La Pass (over 5,000 meters!) was brutal, but the views? Unreal. You’ll curse your backpack weight one minute and cry at the beauty the next. Classic mountain magic. I went with Vertical Explorers, and thank goodness I did. They handled permits, gear, and all the nitty-gritty stuff I’d never want to figure out alone. But what really stood out were the people. Our guide, Kamran, was like a mountain guru. Calm, funny, and seriously knowledgeable—he’d point out hidden trails, tell stories about the peaks, and somehow make 8-hour hikes feel manageable. When I struggled on a steep climb, he stayed back, cracked a joke, and reminded me to “breathe like you’re napping, not running a marathon.” Lifesaver. And then there was Hussain, the camp chef. I still don’t know how he whipped up lentil curry, fresh bread, and even cake at 4,500 meters. After freezing my toes off all day, his meals felt like hugs. The man deserves a Michelin star… or at least a lifetime supply of warm socks. It’s worth every blister. If you’re dreaming of this adventure, do it—but go with a team that knows the mountains. They turned a challenging hike into a trip I’ll never forget.Written January 28, 2025
- arned7410 contributionsA South Pakistan AdventureWe started our Tour with a very insightful visit of Islamabad and Taxila, followed by 6 days in the Karakorum to get a flavour of that magnificent mountain range. We will come back here in summer to get closer to the 8000ers and do more extensive trekking. Our guide Abdul lead us to some fine places, to glaciers, planes and passes, all very patiently and with a talent to improvise due to the unstable weather in autumn. We already missed him already when we left the mountains on the KKH (of course the flight from Gilgit was cancelled 😉) What really stands out is the tour by private Car with Ehsan from Islamabad to Karachi with all the major landmarks on the way (the magnificent mosque in Lahore, the shrine in Multan and the necropolis of Makli but to name a few) I simply cannot imagine a better way to explore the south than with Ehsan. He brings a genuine enthusiasm for his beautiful country, steers his car skillfully through the traffic, knows the best eateries (chicken handi 🙂), cuts the best deals for hotels, tricks the police (a constant companion after Lahore) to gain us more freedom to move around. Ehsan happily answered questions on country and culture, sneaked us into hidden places, showed us a genuine sufi dance and found every place of interest almost on auto pilot, all that with an incredible calm and kindness. Sounds a bit like too much praise but seriously, go for Ehsan if you want to discover the south of Pakistan the proper way!Written December 8, 2024
- anjilaj20240 contributionsSkardu, Khaplu and Shigar Valleys tourvisited Skardu, Khaplu, and Shigar valleys this October, and was amazing. The fall colors were everywhere. Skardu was our first stop. Shangrila Resort was a peaceful spot to relax after exploring. The views of the mountains were breathtaking. In Khaplu, we visited the famous Khaplu Palace. It’s a beautiful old building with a lot of history. The locals were super friendly, and we got to try some delicious Balti food. Shigar Valley was another highlight. The Shigar Fort was incredible, mix of culture, history, and natural beauty made it special. The weather was perfect, not too cold, and the autumn scenery was at its best. It was an unforgettable trip, and I’d recommend these valleys to anyone who loves nature and wants to see something unique.Written December 1, 2024
- sunshine24950 contributionsExcellent trip to Fairy meadows and Nanga ParbarAs part of my trip with vertical explorers to Northern Pakistan I did a short trek to Fairy Meadows and Nanga Parbat with Irfan. I had an incredible time at Fairy Meadows with beautiful views of the mountain. VE uses the original fairy meadows cottages so you get uninterrupted views of the mountain, food was good as well as a bonfire each evening under the stars where we could chat with other guests. We hiked up to Fairy Meadows and then to the 'base camp' the next day. Irfan showed me other places of interest along the hike and ensured the pace was comfortable for me, as well as ensuring we had fun along the way. He also ensured we were safe along the hair raising jeep ride from Raikot. All in all this was a great short trek thanks to guide Irfan and VE.Written November 18, 2024
- chiaratonin50 contributionsVertical Explorers made it possible for us to have the experience of a lifetime - highly recommended! My partner and I had a great time during our visit to Pakistan, first in Islamabad and then in Skardu. Vertical explorers made it possible for us to visit incredible places. They took care of any unexpected issues and gave us the best experience possible. We had a super successful and fun expedition to Concordia, our dream of seeing K2. They also made it possible for us to summit the GG-La! Incredible. All the people of the crew were amazing and fun, basically family during our expedition. We could not be more grateful to all the people who made it possible for us to achieve this crazy dream. Thank you so much to the incredible Vertical Explorers crew. Big shoutout to our guides: - Irfan, who not only kept us safe, and taught us the way of the Karakoram, but kept the laughs going the whole way during our expedition to K2 and GG-La; - Abdul who took us to Nanga Parbat base camp and the fairy meadowsWritten November 2, 2024

This was a long time dream of mine. Grateful to vertical explorers for carefully planning this complicated trip. Also very grateful to guide Ehsaan for managing this complicated trip so well and with so much joy. And very grateful to all the porters, chef Khanchu and mule operators for sharing this adventure with me and working so hard to make sure we successfully and safely crossed Hispar La pass.Written September 18, 2024
- sunshine24950 contributionsAmazing tour of northern PakistanI had an exceptional trip with Vertical Explorers around northern Pakistan including Fairy Meadows, Hunza, Khunjerab Pass, Gilgit, Naltar Valley, Rakaposhi, Skardu and Shigar. I enjoyed it so much I extended my stay and also visited Peshawar and Murree with them. Vertical Explorers were highly flexible and adaptive from the beginning, when some members of the planned group tour were unable to join they quickly put together a new itinerary allowing me to tailor it to suit my interests. Although I usually travel independently I opted to travel with a guide in Pakistan as a solo female. Personally I enjoyed my trip much more as a result and as a solo female, I always felt very comfortable and safe in Pakistan and all the guides I had were unfailingly polite, kind and courteous and could not have done more to ensure my comfort and make it a fun trip. Particular highlights included Fairy Meadows and hike to Nanga Parbat base camp and Rakaposhi base camp, both of which were beautiful, as well as Safranga desert and Maslur Rock in Skardu. There is so much to see and do in Pakistan with relatively so few tourists. I was impressed with vertical explorers efficiency and flexibility throughout. All the logistics were smooth, I felt they offered value for money and they couldn't have done more to accommodate requests along the way. I would use them again for future visits to Pakistan.Written August 9, 2024
- iremep20240 contributionsK2 Gondogoro La Trek Where Determination Meets Majestic PeaksK2 base camp Gondogoro La Trek in late June was an incredible adventure, and we were fortunate to complete it with Vertical Explorers. The weather was generally good, with clear skies and breathtaking views of K2 and other towering peaks. Despite the challenging nature of the trek, including glaciers, rocky paths, and lush valleys, our group successfully crossed the Gondogoro La pass, which many other trekkers from different groups were unable to do. Late June proved to be a great time to go, as the melting snow made the paths easier to navigate. Overall, it was a tough but unforgettable experience, highlighting the importance of good preparation and support.Written July 24, 2024
- teherar0 contributionsUnforgettable Family Adventure in Swat, Kalam, Utror, and Kumrat ValleyWe had an unforgettable family trip to Swat, Kalam, Utror, and Kumrat Valley in June. Coming from the US, we were enchanted by the stunning landscapes and warm hospitality. Swat Valley's lush green hills, clear rivers, and historical sites like the Takht-i-Bahi Monastery were mesmerizing. We especially enjoyed the Swat Museum and the serene beauty of Malam Jabba. Our journey took us through Kalam Valley and Utror Valley, each offering its own unique charm and breathtaking views. The drive over the Bondai Top to Kumrat Valley was an adventure in itself, with panoramic vistas that left us in awe. The vehicles we used were comfortable and well-suited for the rugged terrain, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride. Kumrat Valley was a hidden gem with its pristine natural beauty, dense forests, and the breathtaking Panjkora River. The weather was perfect for exploring and picnicking. The locals were friendly and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable. Our guide from Vertical Explorers added to the richness of our experience, ensuring we saw the best the region had to offer. The hotels we stayed in were clean, comfortable, and offered excellent service, making us feel at home away from home. Traveling with family, including young children, was smooth as the area felt safe and the accommodations were comfortable. The scenic drives and easy hikes were suitable for all ages, making it a perfect family destination. We highly recommend visiting Swat, Kalam, Utror, and Kumrat Valley for anyone seeking a blend of nature, history, and adventure.Written July 18, 2024
- chulm20240 contributionsWonderful ExperienceI recently went on the Chitral Kalash tour with Vertical Explorers, and it was an amazing trip. From start to finish, everything was well-organized and enjoyable. The best part was visiting the Kalash Valleys. The culture and traditions of the Kalash people were fascinating. guide Irfan told us all about their history and way of life. explored colorful villages, saw traditional dances, and even joined a local festival. It was incredible! Chitral itself was also beautiful. The mountains, valleys, and historic sites were stunning. We visited Chitral Fort and the Chitral Mosque, which were both very interesting. Traveling through the Lowari Tunnel to get to Chitral was an adventure with amazing views.Written July 13, 2024

- jyl09080 contributionsBeautiful tour, could use work on communication with customersThis was a beautiful tour to see northern Pakistan and the various mountain ranges. It was an adventurous trip and we felt very safe with Ehsan, our guide, during the entire time. He showed us generous hospitality as he took us to various sites across Hunza and Skardu. Ehsan even invited us to his family home for a delicious home cooked meal. I especially appreciated the care with which he helped look after my uncle, who had difficulty with the more physical aspects of the trip. We learned a lot about the culture/history and found the scenery breathtaking. It is worthy to note that Vertical Explorers is one of the more experienced travel companies, especially in northern Pakistan, as Ehsan was incredibly knowledgeable and prepared to take us around. After speaking to some other travel companies, this experience became very evident. Overall, I am extremely glad I chose to book with Vertical Explorers. The only criticism I have would for Vertical Explorers to improve their communication during the booking process. I had to constantly message them (Syed) to give me updates, which was frustrating. They also didn’t send me any itinerary or receipt of payment until I asked. They ended up sending it to me the day I flew out to Pakistan but there was a mistake in my schedule which needed to be addressed, which was a bit worrisome since no one had informed me until I checked. It would also be helpful for them to notify tourists of the frequency of flight cancellations out of Gilgit and how some bookings are made very last minute. This would help manage expectations. These things made the company appear disorganized and chaotic, but I think after going there it seemed to be more of a problem with lack of communication than anything else.Written June 4, 2024

I did a 12-day trip with Vertical Explorers, exploring the rich history and culture of South Pakistan. From the bustling streets of Lahore to the ancient ruins of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro, every moment was unforgettable.
Guided by our knowledgeable and friendly guide, Abdul, we delved into the Mughal history of Lahore, the spiritual heart of Multan, and the majestic palaces of Bahawalpur. Mohenjo-Daro near Larkana offered a fascinating glimpse into ancient civilization, while vibrant markets provided a sensory overload.
Traveling in a comfortable vehicle and staying at well-chosen hotels made the journey smooth and enjoyable. Abdul shared stories about the local traditions, making the cultural aspects even more enriching.
few tips
Traveling with a local guide like Abdul is essential for safety and cultural insights.
Plan your trip during the cooler months to avoid extreme heat.
Dress modestly and respect local customs.
Enjoy local street food, but choose vendors carefully.
Carry some local currency for small transactions.
I highly recommend this trip to anyone passionate about history and culture.

One of my best adventure trips. Travelled with Vertical Tours. The trip was well organized and Ehsan was an amazing guide. He was well versed with all the different regions of Pakistan that we traveled to as well as local customs. He pointed out places of interest and was extremely accommodating, flexible and trustworthy. It felt like travelling with a good friend. We travelled from Islamabad to Gilgit Baltistan, Hunza, Sost, China Pakistan border, Swat Valley, Peshawar, Fairy Meadows and other areas. We hiked to Rakaposhi base camp as well. Had some very good interactions with locals in many parts and made many friends. Overall an amazing trip. I will visit again.
