- 10dorisc0 contributionsAmazing Silk Island TourMy friend and I took this Half Day Tour on October 27th and we had a great time. Our guide, Vutiy, was wonderful. He was always smiling, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We were served drinks and a fruit platter while cruising on the river and got a chance to see the people that live on the river and on boats. We walked around the island with Vutiy as he explained various things such as burial practices, info on monks, etc. Once at the Silk community, we saw several women work on looms as Vutiy provided information on the silk process from start to finish. We even got to touch the silk worm cocoons. Before we left the island, we were given the opportunity to buy items at the Silk Shop. I had to purchase several items as they were too beautiful not too. Do yourself a favor and book this tour! I highly recommend it!Written October 30, 2024
- Zhen_Juan_Kinfe0 contributionsRomantic Sunset on the MekongWe took a sunset cruise on the Mekong River, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The views of Phnom Penh’s skyline as the sun set were breathtaking. The boat was comfortable, and the service on board was great. The romantic atmosphere was perfect for couples looking to enjoy a quiet evening together.Written September 8, 2024
- FloandNa0 contributionsGreat experience. We wanted a water trip during the day and most were at night. Booked this one the evening before and called them early morning (7am) to confirm pick up. English was not a problem. We were the only booking and time was arranged for our convience. Fun tuktuk ride and a friendly welcome on the boat - smaller, old stock with character. Great information and engagement with our guide who provided fresh fruit and offered refreshments too. Such contrast with river lifestyles and significant development. What a hard working people.Written August 10, 2024
- johnbO1600RL0 contributionsGreat 4 hour river and land adventureWe went on the afternoon cruise and there were only 4 of us onboard which meant our guide had plenty of time to tell us all about his life and local life. It was fascinating and extremly informative. We cruised round into the Mekong River and went ashore at a small peacful island. Visited the Budist temple and our guide explained so much we didn't know. we briefley vistied a school in the grounds of the temple and the children were so friendly and all smiles. Onwards to the silk village were we saw the silk worms and how the silk was harvested and soun. This was followed by seeing the ladies working thr handlooms to produce the silk cloth. Well worthwhile trip.Written March 6, 2024
- 848simonea0 contributionsGreat experienceReally enjoyed visiting silk island, we both learnt so much on this trip. It definitely makes me appreciate a beautiful silk scarf now. There was only 4 people on the tour we booked. Great trip.Written February 16, 2024

- mallory1340 contributionsGreat tourI love silk and textiles, and so I knew I wanted to do this cruise! You are guided through a local village to a silk producing workshop. The weavers are mainly widows, some with children to support. You can see the entire silk producing process -- from laying eggs to the silk worms, to how they spin the silk thread from the cocoons, and then how they set up the looms and start weaving. You can buy silk pieces from the store there, and I bought a couple. They are absolutely gorgeous. The guide is knowledgeable, cheerful, and friendly. I picked this company because it is run by Cambodian tourism/hospitality students.Written December 3, 2023

- Roving660318433270 contributionsExcellent - One of few gems in/around Phnom PenhHad an awesome cruise. Being off season we had the boat and guide all to ourselves (2 of us). Very knowledgeable guide. A second tuk tuk guide (Kim) on the island was equally impressive. Learnt a lot about silk farming. Very interesting with the right guide. Again we were the only tourists on the island for a couple of hours. Ended up spending a lot more than intended at the store but no regrets. Products were available at very different price points for different budgets but high quality craftsmanship. Funds go to the island women's cooperative that keep the traditions going.Written September 18, 2023
- johnarnold20180 contributionsBASIC FUN DAYAlthough we enjoyed the day and the host was good value, on boarding the boat we noticed it is in dire need of refurbishing (about 20 years ago) it was interesting. Not the crew but the guy who showed us through the silk producing process was knowledgeable BUT annoyingly wanted us to buy stuff and continually asked about a ‘tip’. So bad he turned us off the whole experience. We advised our crew host of this and he was mad and told us that he would sort it out as he had warned that man about this on previous occasions. On way back to the Phom Penh dock we were caught in a monsoonal downpour and ended up soaked. But it was a bit of an experience we enjoyed the day and would recommend the tour.Written August 11, 2023
- cheryl a0 contributionsSilk IslandA wonderful afternoon in a lovely village filled with laughing, playing children and beautiful ladies continuing with their traditional skills. The cruise down the river was relaxing watching life and it’s contrasts from the river. Our guide was very accommodating and knowledgeable.Written August 9, 2023
- Gareth J0 contributionsStunning !An truly amazing trip! For the whole day we came across no other tourists which was such a massive plus and for those in Cambodia who did not visit Oudongk it’s absolutely their miss! We started off with a cruise up the river past the floating villages with various sights as we moved up the river towards Oudongk. Our boat moored off the bank and our guide (who was absolutely brilliant) then took us up by tuk tuk to a silver village and from their to the Buddhist temples below Oudongk. We met the monks and the nuns, we were able to fully explore all the temples and the living accommodation for the monks and nuns who were so friendly and curious about ourselves. The nuns in particular. From there we went up the mountain, down to a street market and then had a lovely late lunch before heading back to our boat and down the river. This tour was the best of our entire three week trip. The guide was knowledgeable and incredibly accommodating to allow us to explore all the areas we wanted to. It felt very authentic to the area and felt like we really were experiencing a part of Cambodia that very few people have the privilege in experiencing. But thank you to our guide for a truly memorable experience! Gareth Jones (and the family)Written July 27, 2023

My husband and I booked this sunset cruise to appreciate the Phnom Penh skyline by night. It did not disappoint. The cruise travelled downstream to the Face of Four river and back via the floating villages. The guide pointed out points of interest along the trip. Watching fisherman bring in their haul for the day, children swimming in the river and locals going about their daily business while watching the sun go down and the lights of Phnom Penh come to life was a beautiful, relaxing experience.
The crew were very attentive, keeping everyone’s drinks full, chatting with guests and providing a plate of fruit (watermelon, dragonfruit and pineapple).
Pick up from your hotel can be arranged although we walked down to the dock along the river.
The crew are hospitality students and love interacting with guests to learn about life overseas and improve their already impeccable English!
A great experience that I would recommend to anyone!

We had pick up from our hotel, the tuktuk ride took 15 minutes. We boarded the not so big touristboat, could take around 20 passengers. We waited for a while, for more passengers, and started our journey. The guide was very friendly, and he gave us ice cold refill, evertime the level in our glasses reached low levels. The guide told us about what we saw, to the left and right, and it was a nice trip, the traffic on mekong river is pretty busy, we saw fishermen villages, and of course the many buildings of Phnom Penh. The guide served us fruit on our way back. We enjoyed the trip, and recommend it

From hotel pick-up throughout the entire 1.5 hours, the Sunset Cruise team delivered what they have promised in the services here on trip advisor. Good value for money. The cruising guide was very friendly and used good English to explain everything. Recommended for everyone who travels with family as well.

Really well organised from pick up to disembarking. Cruise was great, host was entertaining and informative creating good balance between providing commentary and allowing time to just enjoy views. The team were also very attentive topping up glasses with the inclusive drinks.
On our case we accidentally left a scarf on board, the team tracked us down via text message and then delivered scarf to hotel. Outstanding service. Thanks all

This was one of the best things I did in phnom penh, the staff are so so friendly and inviting. The lady told us all about the different buildings along the water front, the people who live along the river and so much more. The drinks just kept coming and the sunset is absolutely beautiful, if you want to so something memorable then definitely go on this cruise.

I knew that this was going to be a professional tour when a very polite Cambodian man called up to postpone for a day as there were thunderstorms. He was really apologetic, but obviously it wasn’t his fault! When we went the next day we had a really good time- lovely boat, very humourous and knowledgable guide and an abundance of beer and some lovely fresh fruit. I actually don’t like beer so I asked if I could purchase some wine and they had some lovely, cold Sauvignon Blanc for $3 a glass so I was really happy. Really recommend the tour and thought it represented excellent value for money.

Let's be honest, this isn't Paris, so let's start from the fact that it's not that spectacular to begin with. But for what it is...
There are a plethora of sunset cruises you can do, all vying for your business right now. Generally they last 1 hour and it's about $10. Memorable Cambodia runs for 1.5 hours for $16 and they seem to have the tallest boat. Not sure if you get the guide with the other guys, or the drinks, but I can say for sure that this company gets you a slightly better view, which is good.
All the rest I could do without. I'm not into beer, coke, or sprite, and that's all they had. So I just had a water. The fruit salad is a nice touch, but I was pretty much set for a good dinner so I didn't need it at 6:30PM. The sights aren't exactly amazing, just a pleasant cruise. With another half hour, they fill up the time by going out a little further and swinging by the Vietnamese community fishing villages on the other side, which was interesting.
But all in all, I think it was a half hour too long. Too make it worse (or better, if you have nowhere to go), they started 10 minutes late because they were waiting for someone who apparently made a reservation, and then they got back rather slowly, making the thing more like 1:45 rather than 1:30. If I didn't have dinner reservations, I wouldn't have been so miffed.
Tip: right now (December 2022) you don't need any reservations. Just show up a bit before 5:00 and take a look at which boat you want to go out on.

Value for money. They serve Beer and Coke or other drinks but mostly you will not drink beyond one glass as that glass is big! Fruit platter was good. Quite relaxing and the English speaking guide is good and helpful. The sunset trip brings with it cool breeze which is a treasure in a hot and humid city. Please note the boat is medium size but not very big or posh and it is open air upper deck but it is still nice as you can sit at the top and enjoy the views. The boat is neat and clean. They offer hotel pick up service

A river journey of adventure and enlightenment
Whisked by Took Took from our hotel, through the streets of Phenom Penh, the evening's adventure begins. We share it with what we presume is a Europeon couple, as they, our Took Took pilot, and we can not find a common language amongst us. We arrive at the banks of Mekong, and through a series simple words and gestures are told to hike down its bank to where a number of waiting river boats await.
This is not the Love Boat, your typical pier, or even a dock. The flat bottom boat's hull is lying on the bank, and we gingerly step across a couple of loose wooden planks which serve a boarding ramp. Momentarily you question if it is wise to embark on this vessel, but the crew is welcoming you aboard. Once committed, you are glad you did, and are thankful for the memory to share. In a few short years, Phenom Penh will likely be less gritty, and this boat ride will be more commercialized, but likely absent its character.
Finding a spot on the upper deck, the crew offers beer, wine, water, and we depart with the sun still high in the sky. We are treated to a view of the city you can only see from our water vantage point. The narrator, who is both funny, and informative, explains what we are seeing, including the city skyline, and the various encampments which dot the river's banks, and the historical landmarks. We gain insights into the significance of the river, and the culture which has thrived and survived good and bad times through the ages. It's a reminder that travel can be more than sightseeing; it can be a gateway to understanding and appreciation.
As the sun slowly makes its way to the horizon, painting the sky in hues of fiery orange and tranquil purple, the Mekong River embraces the evening with a serene grace. Aboard our river barge one cannot help but feel a profound connection to the pulse of the city and the ancient waterway that has been its lifeblood for centuries.
The highlight, of course, is the sunset. It's a moment that seems to stand still in time, a spectacle that reminds us of the world's effortless beauty. The water reflects the sky's metamorphosis, becoming a canvas for the sun's final performance of the day. It's a scene that captures the heart and etches itself into memory.
As the cruise comes to an end and the night blankets the Mekong, we see other brightly lit boats on the Mekong. All of us sharing a moment. The Captain deftly brings the boat to rest on the shore again, we climb down the deck's ladder, and wish a farewell. We leave grateful for having been able to experience this moment.

We booked a Sunset cruise with unlimited beer and soft drinks, fruit platter. The bar tenders were very rude when we asked about the fruit platter. Said they were getting it ready. There were 3 of us and they gave us 6 tiny pieces of pineapple and 6 tiny pieces of watermelon. The guide was extremely loud, said because the top floor had to hear him. Isn't that what speakers are for? Also, it was a sunset cruise, and he never called attention to that! We totally missed the sunset! Boarding and de boarding, we had to walk across planks on the beach. It was very dark, and honestly scary. I would not recommend. The views were amazing, and that is why I gave it 2 stars.

Dear Lourdes,
Thank you very much for your feedback!
We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was not satisfied. We will make sure with our crew about this concerns. Of course we provide unlimited beer and soft drinks on board and we always make sure to all passengers to have enough drinks. As for fruit plate we serve to everyone directly to table, in case if you don't have enough fruits you can always ask for some more. Sometimes it just a misunderstanding because we serve fruit to your table already and you just come to the counter to have a fruit while our crew is cutting, so they say they already served you but if you said "Can I have one more plate of fruit?" I am sure they will give you another plate. As you choose a table that next to speaker and it just why you feel so loud, we actually have a lot of spaces where you can avoid from noise but you just happy to seat under the loudspeaker.
We are sorry for any inconvenience!
Best regards,
Davuth
