- NinaS0 contributionsLovely way to spend an early eveningWe were really impressed with this little sunset experience - it was great value. The team at memorable Cambodia communicated with us well booking the tickets and free pick up via email. The tour guide was very amusing - and we also found out a lot about the city of Phnom Penh - and the unlimited drinks and fresh fruit platter were very welcome too. The guide was also happy to take our pictures at sunset which was great too. Highly recommended.Written January 21, 2025

The guide was fast-paced and funny, covering much ground with passion and the beverage service was more than ample! Beautiful sunset too which was a nice bonus!Written November 22, 2024
- KentSmb0 contributionsStunning sunset cruiseWe were picked up from our hotel and taken to the boat. Had a good seat on the top deck with amazing views of the city. We had about 40 mins of commentary which was interesting. The servers were very busy but friendly and helpful and we had regular top ups of beer and coke. There were other drinks to buy at very reasonable prices. Had a fruit platter to share on the way back. Toilets available on the boat. We had a great evening. Thoroughly recommend!!!!Written November 20, 2024

- saragio150 contributionsA Great Experience !The positive reviews on TA are fully justified, the sunset cruise was an outstanding experience. Part of the package was a pick up from our hotel by a Tuc Tuc and then taken to the jetty with another couple. The cruise was about 90 minutes. The local English speaking guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. And yes free beer and soft drinks were served on board and seemed virtually unlimited for those who wanted a drink. The sunset cruise was great a chance to see the city lit up including a bridge with lights the colour of the Cambodian flag and the Royal Palace. Outstanding value at $17 USD per person. Strongly recommendWritten November 6, 2024
- karolinarO4424UZ0 contributionsThe Perfect Way to Relax After WorkThe sunset cruise on the Mekong River was the highlight of my trip. We went on the afternoon cruise and there were only 4 of us onboard which meant our guide had plenty of time to tell us all about his life and local life. It was fascinating and extremly informative. We cruised round into the Mekong River and went ashore at a small peacful island. Visited the Budist temple and our guide explained so much we didn't know. we briefley vistied a school in the grounds of the temple and the children were so friendly and all smiles. Onwards to the silk village were we saw the silk worms and how the silk was harvested and soun. This was followed by seeing the ladies working thr handlooms to produce the silk cloth. Well worthwhile trip.

Lovely river cruise to silk island. Our guide had fantastic knowledge about all things Cambodia. Loved learning about buddhist religion on the island. Personal highlight was going into the primary school and being able to meet the children and read some books to them. Once at the silk village our guide We was outstanding, great English, he was great at explaining all the processes involved to make silk products from raising the silk worms to extracting the silk from the cocoon. Great day out

Had an awesome cruise. Being off season we had the boat and guide all to ourselves (2 of us). Very knowledgeable guide. A second tuk tuk guide (Kim) on the island was equally impressive. Learnt a lot about silk farming. Very interesting with the right guide. Again we were the only tourists on the island for a couple of hours.
Ended up spending a lot more than intended at the store but no regrets. Products were available at very different price points for different budgets but high quality craftsmanship. Funds go to the island women's cooperative that keep the traditions going.

The guide would not stop talking and I wanted to look at the sights. It was pretty frustrating. I bought a silk on the island and then tipped the silk guide (different to the guide who was on the boat). I showed the boat guide I had spent all my money and after that he was not interested as no tip was coming.
Worse was that I was stranded on the road with no tuk tuk to take me back to the hotel. Pretty grim service really. Never again.

I thought it was an authentic silk weaving island. Yes they show you the loom and silk worm etc but there were too many products on display to have been made by hand. Also the usual "hard sell" and "I give you special discount ". If the product is original then the official fixed price should apply.

A must do your that gives you a beautiful view of Phnom Phen from the River. We learned so much about the history of the city and seeing first hand the fishing life of the people who make the rivers their livelihood and home. Beautiful sunset cruise with delightful crew and guide. Drinks and fresh fruit plate included. Great value. A wonderful calming night to end a hectic day of touring.

Booked an afternoon cruise the night before I wanted to go. Emailed them the pickup location at my hotel and a description of me; the tuktuk driver found me on time. I ended up being the only person on the afternoon cruise because of heat so I had a personalized tour. The owner/operator spoke very good English and taught me about the local culture, religions, farming, and silk production. Picked up 20 bicycle riders on the way back and the boat broke down but the driver jumped in and fixed it to get us back. Great time, I'd recommend it!

Although we enjoyed the day and the host was good value, on boarding the boat we noticed it is in dire need of refurbishing (about 20 years ago) it was interesting.
Not the crew but the guy who showed us through the silk producing process was knowledgeable BUT annoyingly wanted us to buy stuff and continually asked about a ‘tip’. So bad he turned us off the whole experience.
We advised our crew host of this and he was mad and told us that he would sort it out as he had warned that man about this on previous occasions.
On way back to the Phom Penh dock we were caught in a monsoonal downpour and ended up soaked. But it was a bit of an experience we enjoyed the day and would recommend the tour.

My friend and I booked the trip online, as it was cheaper than what our hotel was quoting. Booking confirmation was immediate and a couple of hours later we were contacted to organize hotel pickup.
The next day, a tuk-tuk collected us from the hotel and took us to the boat. There we met the guide, were served drinks and fruit and enjoyed an informative journey to the Silk Island.
The island was cleaner and much quieter than Phnom Penh, the silk process was very interesting and we were fortunate to spend time with the local kids from the primary school.
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Phnom Penh and I recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic trip to Silk Island. We had a lovely trip to the island and once ashore, our guide, Vuthy, gave us a very informative tour including a lot of information about Buddhism and it’s culture as well as a fantastic trip around the island on a tuk-tuk.
Then we had a tour around the Silk Farm with another guide who explained the process of silk making.
On our return boat trip to the Riverside we had a platter of fresh pineapple and drinks.
All in all, we had an excellent experience made all the better thanks to our wonderful guide Vuthy who was very patient and seemed delighted to answer our numerous questions!

Is it required to wear long pants when visiting the Buddhist monastery? Would my husband be able to wear shorts and a t shirt.??
