This is a great cycle experience through the beautiful of Tonle Sap riverside where you’ll encounter experience with the beautiful farmlands, pretty floating villages, paddy rice fields, fishing community, Muslim community and Buddha temples. Refresh with a nice breezy from the river and enjoy the tropical fruits as the good way for us to keep up riding to visit silver and bronze handicraft villages where you will connect with a local artisan and learn from the villagers. A final climb up the Oudong Hill to see a largest Buddha status, royal stupas and get stunning view of Cambodia countryside. Oudong is a former royal capital of Cambodia from the 17th to the 19th centuries. It located at northwest of Phnom Penh. We will pick you up at your hotel and drive to the meeting point at north of Phnom Penh capital city.

Mr Nuth is an excellent cycle guide!
My mother (fit at 74 years) and I enjoyed a great day cycling, ferrying over to explore silk island with a sit-down tasting different Cambodia fruits at the silk factory, and later a great lunch on a floating restaurant. Mr Nuth was our super attentive and mindful guide. Being picked up and returned to our hotel, we truly enjoyed the day! Thank you very much Mr Nuth, kind regards, Jacobs family from Amsterdam NL

The only way to experience the islands
Amazing way to spend your first morning escaping the busy city. I was concerned before booking due to the heat and traffic but the tour escapes the madness. Sey met us at our hotel and had a tuk tuk take us to the ferry. Other companies left you to find your own way to the meet points across the ferries. Good new bikes and water provided. Sey was an amazing tour guide taking time to stop and explain anything and everything that caught our eye. 27km bike ride in total with lots of stops at interesting areas to ensure you do not notice the distance. 2 hours cycle across a 4/5 hours Water provided, mix of off road and tarmac but away from the traffic. Good amount of shade to keep a ginger fella safe. Great fruit break (Kong ;-)) at the silk tour. Lovely lunch stop by the river to learn more from Sey on the local ingredients and his home life on silk island. Best tour guide ever, give him a raise :-) Thanks Sey - Dave & Assunta

          Unforgettable experience
What a great tour , we had Mr Thong as our tour guide, best tour we have done so far and unforgettable experience. Mr Thong is extremely noligeable and passionate about Cambodia and its people and his English is very good. The tour started at 7:30 am and finished at 1:30 pm. We toured 3 island, met with many local villagers who were all so lovely, it is amazing how lovely and accepting the locals are , inviting complete strangers in to there homes and with the biggest smiles made us felt very welcome. We learnt about harvesting rice, making silk, making of grass mats as well as local farmers and how the sell there produce at the markets. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was delicious 10 out of 10

          Extremely humbling experience
Started the day at the Killing Fields. What an eerie place that is full of the remnants of such an atrocity. Afterwards it was the tuk tuk tour which was brilliant fun. It culminated with a traditional floating lunch at a local village. Really good day and many thanks go out to our fantastic guide Nute. Great fun to be with

          Cycling around three islands
Omg. This tour was so good. It was just the two of us and our guide. The bikes were great - well maintained and easy to use. Sey was our guide and he was very good. Very informative. We stopped several times, to examine the fruit and veg on the side of the road, at a couple of monasteries , the nunnery, to look at the reclining Buddha and to watch bean curd getting made - amazing. We also stopped to try some of the fresh cooked bananas from a road side stop all on Mekong island. Then we crossed a bridge to silk island. Where we cycled around the countryside. Then onto another ferry to the mainland island where we cycled to a home where we first had cold bottled water and some local fresh fruits. Then we spoke with, watched and did some silk weaving (well I did the winding of the silk onto the bobbin). Then off to a restaurant for lunch. All in all a fabulous tour.

          Great tour
Hong our guide and Yap our driver took great care of us. Hong has a great amount of enthusiasm for his country and its culture which only added to the experience. Highly recommend this tour of Silk Island and what it is all about. Also Hong is an avid for photographer which made the tour more interesting if you happen to be a fellow shutterbug.

Fantastic time cycling through villages and along farmlands, seeing the real Cambodia
I had a fantastic time on this cycle tour around Silk Island with our guide Nerith. He was lovely! Very friendly, interesting, and informative. The stops on route were great, with many photo opportunities and a really great restaurant for lunch - a deck over the river with hammocks to chill in and delicious local food and ice cold beers and waters! Thank you Nerith and Vana Adventure Tours.

          Wonderful Phnom Penh tour
It doesn't matter if you are in Phnom Penh Cambodia for a long or short time as we were, you must consider doing this tour. We had Narith as our guide, and he was fantastic. He assisted us getting used to our bikes, and ensured our safety as we were riding around Silk Island. All of our questions were answered by Narith. He is a wonderful ambassador promoting his country. We learnt so much during this tour that covered various aspects of Cambodian life. We found the pace of the tour relaxing(we aren't highly experienced bike riders). We rode along rural roads, and beside the Mekong river too at times. Stops along the way were well timed, and gave us a break... while learning about local industries such as cotton/silk weaving, soya bean production, and much more. The bikes were in excellent condition, with comfy riding seats too. Adjustments were made to suit our heights. Lunch was delicious, and included in the tour price. A must do tour if travelling to Phnom Penh Cambodia. Highly recommended.

          Brilliant cycling tour and experience
What an amazing experience this was. Thong is a fabulous guide, sharing his knowledge of the area and local people. Cycling was all easy and at a good pace for all in party. The water stops / breaks were well timed. The fruit at the silk weaving family home was so tasty and to watch the weavers was great. Lunch was delicious. All in all a fabulous way to see the islands around Phnom Penh.

          Enjoyable day in the countryside
A great time was had by us. Very good and informative tour guide. Loved the tuk tuk ride around the village. Enjoyed the ferry rides, grasshopper farm, mat making, and the silk weavers factory. Very cool checking out the silk worms! Yummy lunch and chill out on the floating Hut. It was a very enjoyable tour. Thank you!

          Silk Island
Catching and using a Tuk-tuk is a lovely way to see the island and explore around the Silk Centre. If travelling from Phnom Penh you will need to catch a ferry across to the island. The ferry runs frequently and the tuk-tuk driver drives you onto the barge/boat (ferry) while you're transported across the river.

          Nice places, boring tour
It’s a nice and interesting place to cycle around. The lunch was nice, too. A few adjustments could make this a much better activity. The guide was very quiet and reserved. An energetic, outgoing guide makes a big difference, so he can work on that, and maybe prepare things to talk about beyond “that’s a mango tree.” The bike was very uncomfortable, with a hard seat, hard handlebar grips, and a setup that didn’t allow you to sit up, so after a while it strains your back. It seemed like a good quality, newish bike, but maybe they should switch to a more comfortable style of bike. We arrived at the restaurant - the last stop on the itinerary - just after 10:30am. When we’d finished eating at 11, he suggested lying in a hammock for 10 minutes. That was nice! But after 10 minutes I waited a further 30 minutes before we left. Was this just killing time because the itinerary is too empty? I would suggest finding a similar tour with another company, because Silk Island and Mekong Island are nice.

Best Cambodian tuk tuk 6hr trip ever!
Thong (our guide) met us early directly at the hotel, he was extremely friendly and spoke good English. We started the 2.30pm arvo tour feeling exceptionally comfortable and safe. We hopped in our tuk tuk with driver Tran (also lovely) and headed to Silk Island across multiple ferries. Thong was an exceptional guide and took the time to explain about the farmers, their farming methods and their produce, of course silk weaving, & how bean curd is made (foreigners should never again complain about their work office conditions!), the curd is made 24x7 and rotated by family members on watch. Thong was extremely helpful and patient with our many cultural questions and observant of our needs (WC, water etc), and even made a quick stop when we showed interest in home made donuts on the side of the street (ps, delicious by the way). We cannot recommend Thong highly enough of Vana Adventure Travel (his own company), he truly is inspirational of his knowledge and care for the Cambodian people! This was the best trip we had during our 2wk stay across Vietnam and Cambodia. Thank you Thong.

Thong is the most genuine, friendly and considerate guide that I have ever met. He went out of his way to share details on any wildlife that we encountered (he is an avid bird watcher), and stopped to speak with residents at notable sites along the route we took, so that we could hear more about local life (people really respond to his friendliness and openness). We went out on the hottest day in Phnom Penh this year, and yet Thong did his best to make sure that we biked the shadiest route possible and that we stayed hydrated and cooled off at each stop. He took time to share details on Cambodia's history and culture, both historical challenges as well as bright spots, including sharing his family's/his personal experiences. He even invited me to join his family in doing an extra temple hike at the end of the day, where his wife and three children were excellent guides as well! I would happily join another of Thong's self-designed tours on my next trip to Phnom Penh, as he's always coming up with new ideas with an emphasis on eco-tourism and experiences that give a window on genuine Cambodian life.

Excellent day. We were worried we might not be up for the ride in the heat, but the pace was gentle with plenty of stops (and we’ll definitely be sleeping well tonight ).

Thong was very insightful, an open book enthusiastically sharing his broad knowledge of the country, industry, religion, history and food. And just a lovely warm and fine human who we genuinely enjoyed chatting with throughout the day. We’d love to tour with him again in future, highly recommended.

Wow! A breathtaking cycling tour with Thong. We cycled through amazing, tourist free, villages and we were able to get a true sense of life in rural Cambodia. Our lunch stop was at a place frequented by Cambodians. Thong provided us an opportunity to experience Cambodian life.

The cycling, which may put some people off, was very doable. Thong was mindful of our abilities and pace. He caters to the cyclists’ abilities.

The short hike on Oudong Mountain was icing on the cake. It is a place where Cambodians spend their weekends. The Buddhist temple, and being able to participate in face washing ritual was amazing.

        An unforgettable day!

I went with the English speaking guide Pis, who provided me a true adventure. First we took the ferry to leave Phnom Penh for Mekong island that offered stunning pagodas. Then back to the mainland into rural landscapes and remote villages. For hours I was the only non-Camodian which was noticed by hundred’s of kids welcoming me in their habitat. After a visit to a local silver craft shop and a Cambodian lunch we arrived at the old capital Oudong that offered countless temples, amazing views, a food market and monkey ‘s ! It was worth every penny, thanks Pis !

Udong was a great place to finish. We met Thong there who was also a super guy.

I booked the trip and was not able to cancel. It went towards the end of the cancellation time and still nothing happens. So the operator reached out to me on WhatsApp and dealt with the problem from his end. Really great from Thong and much appreciated from my side. He lost temporary business but still cared more for good customer service. Great man :)

Very good experience through the Cambodian villages far from the hustle and bustle of the city. This gives an idea of the way of life in Cambodian villages. The locals are very welcoming.
Thong is very friendly and gives us a lot of information and explanations.

The cycling trip was way above my expectations! We cycled for almost 38km in 4 hours from 8.30am - definitely a record for myself! We had brief stops along the way, but i was way behind the rest and missed all the interesting stories and information Thong gave. Wished to have more stops to take photos but i was afraid i was too much behind and needed to catch up. It was not easy to cycle this much this far, many parts of the roads were uneven, stoney and bumpy. Perhaps can start earlier - as it got really hot and sunny late morning and made it even more challenging to cycle. Rather challenging for me as a whole, but I am glad i did it - gave me quite a sense of achievement :) Thong was really great, super friendly and good knowledge of the places and oudong. He could give very good backgrounds, history and stories of the places and Cambodia. Really knowledgeable. His personal stories of growth, learning and success are very inspiring too!

I'd recommend this tour - go slow, at your pace, enjoy the rides and the journey.
