About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- sandradD6952EO0 contributionsShort stay in BakuI booked a private tour of Baku Old and Modern city. I enjoyed the competence of the guide who shared rich history of Baku from many angles. Experiencing the walk in the old city as well as around some of the most prominent contemporary architecture was magnificent.Written November 11, 2024
- aroops8700 contributionsInteresting and fun visit to different parts of BakuBaku City Tours was super prompt with WhatsApp communication, and we also received re-confirmation from our guide Aysu the day before. She knew Icherisheher (Old City) like the back of her hand and efficiently guided us through the various alleys and shortcuts (Trust me its like a maze, and easy to get lost). She knew everything that I asked of her, and was super happy to take as many pictures that I requested. Also loved the funicular ride from Highland Park to the Carpet Museum.Written November 11, 2024
- aroops8700 contributionsHeart racing fun in the land of fireBaku City Tours was super prompt on WhatsApp with all my questions. Our guide Inara reached out to me the day before, and picked me up from my AirBnB on schedule. She was super enthusiastic and was always there to take my photos at the various locations. She was patient with all my questions throughout the tour. I really enjoyed the racing in the ancient Soviet Lada Neva 4x4 enroute to the mud volcanoes. Yanar Dagh or the Fire Mountain truly made it all the effort to travel all the way to Baku!Written November 11, 2024
- charliefsmith720 contributionsAmazing history of Azerbaijan , appalling tour operatorI dont like to be negative but, in this instance I am deeply disappointed by Baku City Tours. We used them last year for the same tour and it was good (I have heard of better). This year we arranged the tour for more family. It was a disaster. My son (adult) and his friends were collected , eventually from our home .. not a hotel which seemed to confuse them. They, along with many other adults from multiple pickups, were crammed into a ‘school’ size mini bus. On an incredibly hot day there was no Air Con. My son and his friend are a little over 6ft , so struggled to put their bodies into a comfortable position. After only half of the tour , at a pit stop in Baku, they couldnt go on any further and had to cut the tour short. I contacted BCT to make a complaint, and to ask for a partial refund so we could take our family ourselves to the rest of the sights. BCT acknowledged my complaint but, even after following up, I have yet to receive a response. On a slightly positive note, my family did thoroughly enjoy the bonkers Lada taxi to the mud volcanoes. Something we weren’t given last year!!! So, be warned . The history and sights of Azerbaijan are fantastic… just be careful who you choose to take you.Written November 11, 2024

The description of the tour online was different that how the tour actually was. Online at time of booking operator shows multiple stops which is false and misleading advertising. The tour was advertised for 10 hours starting at 9 am and with stops in Guba City , Qechresh village, khinalig village and other. The guide picked us up at 10 am , we can tell he was very tired or sleepy. We got in the van and for the first hour he didn't say anything but slept until driver stopped at supermarket for toilet stop. Thats when the guide spoke to us and asked if we want to go into store to get snacks which we did. Then we drove all day and passed a forrest which he did mention and stop us again at a restroom stop, great we now have seen two restrooms stops and a store to purchase souvenirs. few hours later we arrive at Kinalig village which was indeed beautiful. It was the only stop and the only thing we did. we passed Guba city and no stops . we even asked can we stop for pictures or see and were told we will stop later. well later came and went and the full day tour that was supposed to include multiple stops/visits was only one. I would have not given a negative review had the description of the tour stated this is a 10 hour tour for one stop at one village. But i want to have other travelers aware that the tour operator inflated the description of this tour. False advertising is unethical. The guide i believe was doing what he thought was the tour offered, but were i believe the problem is with the office that advertised the tour with multiple stops and things to see which is not the case. As an avid traveler i like to support the local operators but also will call out when the descriptions of the tour is inflated online in order to get guests to book the tour. This tour should be revised online to show as 8-9 hour tour with a visit to Khinalig village with lunch. All other stops are bathroom breaks and the other village and quba city are only pass by see from your window in car, not a stop as advertised. Recommend the operator to re-phrase the tour description so guests are not anticipating multiple sights to see on the full day tour. Otherwise the stop in Kinalig was lovely!

This was an amazing tour. Yes, it is long and tedious and some of the mountain roads are quite dangerous (car sickness?) but it is very worthwhile. Mahabat is an outstanding guide. We added a stop at the brand new Mountain Jews Museum in Quba, a multimillion dollar exhibition with a massive amount of modern electronics. After lunch in a forested restaurant we continued on to the mountain town of Khinalug. Every direction is breathtaking views. All in all a great tour!

Mahabat is a great guide and I had a great time during this one day tour of Guba and Khinaliq village. Th best part of the trip was lunch at Khinaliq village and sitting in Mr. Haji's house listening to the stories about history of the village, his family and the artefacts surrounding us. All in all a great tour and Mahabat was great in answering all questions and keeping us engaged. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing very long all day tour. After a slight confusion and change as to where I should meet the tour group, we set off for a day of amazing views, great company and stunning countryside. We travelled through many different villages and stopped plenty of times in the way for comfort breaks which made the journey seems less tedious. It also helped that Yasher, our guide and Zuar, our driver were great company. As well as having a great bunch of people on the same tour. The views were like none I’ve ever seen before and we all took done fab photos. The walls made out of animal dung in the village of Khinaliq were interesting. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Be mindful to buy liquids and snacks in the local shops before travelling as the service station prices were mad high. Oh and take toilet roll as very few places along the way have any and remember the toilets are squat toilets. I would definitely recommend this tour and Analí City Tours company, were great. Special shout out to Yasher and Zuar …

We took a private tour. Instead of going to Guba & Khinaliq our driver Tural gave us the option of going to Gabala which is further and we would have more to see. The best decision we did was to accept the offer. Tural was an excellent guide & driver. He never complained despite our never ending demands, he went well above & beyond to make sure our needs were met. We saw waterfalls, stopped for lunch at a local place, visited Nuhur Lake, ismayilli & Lahich village ( bought a hand made carpet where Tural helped us negotiate the price).

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with our tour guide, Ramil! From the moment we met him, his enthusiasm and deep knowledge of the area were evident. Ramil not only guided us through the scheduled destinations with insightful commentary and a friendly demeanor but also surprised us by taking us to an additional destination that wasn't even included in our package. This unexpected stop became one of the highlights of our trip, showcasing his dedication to making our experience memorable. Ramil's passion for his work and his commitment to ensuring we had the best time possible truly set him apart. We can't recommend him highly enough!

Some of the best views you can get in Azerbaijan within a day trip from Baku! I recommend this tour company because the group size is much smaller so it is not too crowded. The van was comfortable and tour guide (Michelle) was friendly and explained everything very well. A bottle of water is also included. Highly recommended!

This is an amazing day tour exploring North Azerbaijan. You would be amazed by changing landscapes throughout your journey with it culminating in amazing vistas of mountains in Quba and Khinaliq regions. Lunch in a village house was definitely a highlight. Our guide Yashar is an amazing guy who makes the whole journey comfortable, entertaining yet informative. He is constantly explaining to us all the anecdotes and culture of the region. He is extremely friendly too. The driver too was very skilled to drive on those curvy mountain roads. The vehicle was also quite comfortable. This tour organised by Baku City Tours is highly recommended.

My journey through Guba and Khinaliq was transformed by the insightful guidance of Mahabat Mehrabli. From the outset, Mahabat displayed an in-depth understanding of the region's history and traditions, coupled with a kindness that made every moment feel special. His genuine passion for showcasing the wonders of the area, combined with his caring and approachable demeanor, made our exploration both educational and deeply personal. Venturing through Guba and Khinaliq with Mahabat felt like traversing the landscape with an old friend. I can't recommend Mahabat Mehrabli highly enough to anyone seeking a genuine and memorable experience in these stunning locales.

wonderful place. I loved him once. Beautiful views of snow and along the way the views were beautiful. The organizing company was extremely professional, and the guide was smiling tirelessly throughout the trip. We had lunch in a beautiful place, a modest house in the village. It was unforgettable moments
