Very informative and fun walking tour with our guide Alex. We enjoyed listening to Old Baku's interesting history & we went top of the Maiden tower to see the beautiful panoramic view of Baku & Caspian sea. We had pomegranate wine tasting and he gave us enough time souvenir shopping. Thank you!

We enjoyed an Old City Tour with Elnara who took us to places we would never have found ourselves. Elnara had great knowledge of the city, old and new, and was happy to answer our many questions. Well worth the money, highly recommended.

Baku Old City is worth spending time and looking into History of Baku. Well maintained and very clean. While moving we feel we are in the history. At least 4 to 5 hrs are required to get full taste of area and really enjoyable. There is a museum of books. People here are friendly.

We did not have the best conditions as there was pouring rain and strong winds, but I don’t think we got a lot out of the tour. Too much information on dates and unfamiliar names we simply could not take in. One piece of useful advice was not to climb the Maiden Tower, but go to Hillhead and take the funicular, which only costs 1manat each way. I short walk along the martyrs lane commemorates the massacre of Armenians by the Russians in 1990. There is an everlasting flame at the end and a great view across the city and the bay. It’s stunning at night when the flame towers are also lit with waves of changing colours.

Dear Christine, thank You for reviewing us. Obviously You were unlucky because of weather condition on your activity date, and it looks like You are not much interested in history.
Actually your review is a big disrespect to Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani citizens: Alley of Martyrs in Highland Park Baku is the cemetery and memorial park of Azerbaijani civil people who were killed on 20th January 1990 by russian soviet army.
Please be informed that all formal visits to Azerbaijan Government start with the Visit to Alley of Martyrs, and we included the sight to our program to express the culture and history of Azerbaijan better or in a specific way, as we believe it will be interesting to the guests of the country.

Tour was advertised as approximately 3-4 hrs and was only 2. The tour included pick up and drop off - which is the reason I chose this company as I was travelling on my own, it was my first day in the city and didn’t want to worry about how I would get back to the hotel. At the end of the tour I asked the guide if they were dropping me back at the hotel to which she replied “no, it is not included”, but she went out on the road and organised a taxi - but that added to the expense of the tour. The tour also did not go to all the places advertised - the miniature books museum is closed on Thursdays (there’s a sign on the door) the guide should have known this, also we did not go to Highland Park. So I was a bit disappointed as tours are not cheap, needless to say I chose other companies for my other tours. The tour guide was pleasant though.

My husband and I spent over four hours exploring old Baku city and its surroundings with Elnara, our tour guide on the walking tour.
Elnara is very knowledgeable about the history, arts and culture of her country. She is fluent in English which was s big plus. Fortunately we were the only ones on the tour so she tailored it to our interests, patiently answered all our questions and even when we had run out of time continued with the rest of the tour and left us with good suggestions of how to spend the rest of our time in Baku.
We would highly recommend TES tours They were very responsive to our questions and concerns and responded to my texts within minutes of my sending them.
