About
Enjoy the beauty and discover miracles of Armenia - Jermuk city and Tatev Monastery!
One of the masterpieces of medieval Armenian architecture is the Tatev monastery. It is located on a hill which is surrounded on three sides by deep chasms, and it can only be reached from the north. Also you can use the service of the longest in the world cable car near Tatev Monastery, which is called "Wings of Tatev".
Jermuk is located in the mountains of Vayots Dzor. The town is surrounded by thick beutifull forests and is known for its hot springs and mineral water. The name of the town itself means "geyser" in the Armenian language. This underground geyser water is used both for drinking and for baths. It is useful for the treatment of various diseases .Fresh air, waterfalls, artificial lakes, surrounding forests and mineral water pools make Jermuk one of the best resort towns in ArmeniaThe town's name was first mentioned in the 13th century by famous Armenian historian Stepanos Orbelian.

- lornan9280 contributionsSmooth Journey & Amazing Private Tour in ArmeniaWe traveled to Armenia by land, with our tour guide from Georgia driving us for about 3–4 hours. The journey was smooth, and we were excited to explore Armenia. The next day, we had a private tour covering Tsaghkadzor, Kecharis Monastery, Lake Sevan, and Sevanavank. On our last day, we enjoyed a wonderful city tour. Our tour guide in Armenia, David, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, making our experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a well-organized and memorable trip! Highly recommended.Written February 9, 2025

- olivierrN3176UV0 contributionsMajestic snow-covered mountains - Peaceful lakeKaren was perfectly on time with a brand new BYD electric car: comfortable & silent. The cherry on the cake is free Wi-Fi in the car (in case you can't disconnect). But more than that, Karen is a perfect tour guide. He knows his Armenia up - down, left - right. The road to Tsaghkadzor slowly revealed beautiful mountains and, for us, the sun and blue sky, as Yerevan was very cloudy. The Kecharis Monastery is quite large compared to the others we visited. Karen gave us all the required information. After the monastery, it was time to go to the top of the mountain. There are three cable cars to reach the top of the mountain at 2819m. Take them! The view from the top is just breathtaking. There are two restaurants (1st stop and 2nd stop). We had lunch at the 2nd one: good traditional cuisine and wine. After the mountain ... Lake Sevan, and on a narrow peninsula, the Sevanavank Monastery with two stone churches dating to the 9th century. It's worth climbing to the top of the hill to enjoy a panoramic view of the lake. Again, Karen told us the story of the lake and the amazing loss of 20m of water level.Written January 17, 2025
- olivierrN3176UV0 contributionsBeautiful Monastery - Amazing StonesThe brand new BYD Electric car and the driver were perfectly on time to pick us up from the hotel. Smooth drive to the different locations, but unfortunately, the weather was not "friendly" and we had a full overcast sky. The Garni temple is impressive and the views around are breathtaking. The Symphony of Stones is magical. The column style rocks due to differential cooling of basaltic lava are really making a symphony.Written January 17, 2025
- olivierrN3176UV0 contributionsAmazing scenery, very good wine, perfect guide. Our first surprise was: it's a private tour, not a bus tour. We will enjoy our private driver for the whole day 😍. And when I say "enjoy" ... I mean it. Karen was a prefect driver of a brand new BYD electric car: comfortable & silent. Cherry on the cake: there is free Wi-Fi in the car (in case you can't disconnect). But more than that, Karen is perfect tour guide. He knows his Armenia up - down, left - right. We got all the historical, political, geographical information you can dream of. The tour talks about 2 monastery and a winery ... we got way more. Khor Virap is nice monastery atop a hill. Like many places ... destroyed, rebuild, etc.. If you are not scared, you can climb a ladder down to a prison cell. Don't forget to climb on top of the hill for a breathtaking view of the surroundings. Areni cave, hosts artifacts dating 6000 years back and proving it was the oldest winery on earh. We went to Hin Areni winery. No point to visit the factory in winter, but the tasting is a must. You pay a small fee, and ... travel from white to red, from young to old wines. If you have space on your luggage you can get a few bottles at a top price. Since it was lunch time, Karen took us to a very nice restaurant: Lchak. You eat in small cabin and the food is ... delicious. We had a grilled sterlet, some local cheese & herbs and ... the local wine. Karen shared our lunch (not mandatory) and we enjoyed a lot more stories. And last but not least: heaven also known as Noravank. After a magnificent road in the mountain, Noravank appears on the right ... high in the sky. It's a beautiful monastery, in an extremely peaceful place. And suddenly you ask yourself: how did they bring the stones there in the 11th century... If you are lucky you might see some wild life in the mountains. This was a fantastic day 10AM to 7PM, I higly recommend it!Written January 14, 2025

Very well planned and managed overnight private tour with Jan Armenia. Starting from Lilit, the tour coordinator to the amazing driver Artyom all went beyond my expectations. Lilit gave us a very fair deal, managed and monitored the whole trip and assaigned us a very friendly and knowledgable driver. Artyom acted like a “real” driver and a tour guide (eventhough I did not requested one). He was very, very knowledgable about every single village/town/stop and did not hesitate to inform us about all the details. We are very pleased and happy with the two day tour and I would definitely use them again for my future trips.

We spent a very good day but the price was very high. We paid a lot only for the driver, the ropeway and the food weren't included. There wasn't even a bottle of water or food during the whole day, we waited for the evening to eat....It's a theft for tourits. We were expecting much more for the day. Anyway thanks to the driver, but I advice you to take the tour in another agency for a better price and many more services.
