About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- zurb20180 contributionsAmazing VietnamWe booked a full package, north, center and south part of Vietnam. Our experience was really great. The service we received met our expectations and beyond, all parts. From program, guides, food, accommodations and of course the overall service. I highly recommend to use David and his company if you would like to have great time and not to worry about the service level and you stay in VietnamWritten November 5, 2022
- ventureagain0 contributionsHue Royal Tombs Private TourWe took the Hue Royal Tomb Private Tour with a private car accompanied by Hung, an English speaking guide. Arrangement was made the night before by WhatsApp and everything was fast and easy to arrange. The planned route was wonderful and Hung explained everything about the Royal family, history and why there are only 7 tombs for 13 kings. It was wonderful to learn so much in such a short time. The guide was great in helping us take couple photos as well. Suggesting the best spots at the sites. However the private car used could do better with the aircon as the weather is hot and humid but otherwise the entire tour was really wonderful.Written August 20, 2022
- Madetotravel250 contributionsHoi An Private Tour with David NguyenWe drove from Hue to Hoi An stopping at an Oyster Farm and Marble Mountain. Unfortunately it was cloudy and rainy in the mountain pass (hai van pass). Luckily the sun came out as we were descending to Da Nang. David stopped so that we could take some breathing photos. Hoi An is a beautiful place with all of the lanterns and small streets with lots to discover. Our guide David was extremely knowledgeable on the history and everyday life in Hoi An. He was very forthcoming with guidance and suggestions on how to spend out three days in Hoi An. He gave us excellent dining suggestions and shopping tips. He even took us to a fantastic tailor. (BeBE tailor) where we had some clothes made in 24 hours. He got us excellent tickets to see the amazing Bamboo Circus. David always remained professional (he also have a great sense of humour) and pleasant to deal with. You could see that it was important to him to ensure that we totally enjoyed our vacation. We would not hesitate to recommend his services. You will not be disappointed. Thank you David we really appreciated having you as our guide!!Written May 15, 2020
- Heidi T0 contributionsExotic Excursion on the Perfume RiverTraveling on a river cruise is a dream of a lifetime. Thanks to our fabulous guide, David, we were able to experience the Perfume River on a personal level. Observing Hue’s culture along the river gave us a glimpse of Vietnamese life. Relaxing, full of culture, and a special river ride made my tour to Hue! Thank you, David for your expertise and knowledge of Hue and Vietnam. If you want to learn about the culture of Vietnam – David is the person to take you on a Vacation of a Lifetime!Written February 14, 2020
- rustyman0 contributionsTours with David NguyenWe’re just home from an eventful cruise on the Millennium where we only managed 3 ports due to the Coronavirus situation. We had booked tours at each port with David Nguyen and I cannot speak highly enough of the tours. We had 2 buses booked with 12 on each and the tours were such fun and packed with sights, visits to historical sites and activity, including a great 45 minute trishaw ride through the crazy streets of Saigon(Ho Chi Min City). During the Hoi An day we visited Marble mountain, went on a scenic drive up a mountain(Top Gear trail), visited the weird Phuking Bridge at NhaTrang, some great beaches and through the tours lunches were included. If you’re on a cruise to Vietnam ports don’t hesitate to book with David, his tours are so good and his communication is excellent, I’m sure he can’t sleep as he responds to emails so quickly.Written February 13, 2020
- Tom and BJ K0 contributionsHue Private Shore Excursion from Da NangOur day with David was rich and complete. The long drive to Hue seemed short as he had us stopping at unique photo shots along the way. A sleepy fishing village was a complete surprise! He interpreted the history of the former capital to us with clarity. What unique experiences we had during the day, including tea on a dragon boat on the Perfume river for just the two of us. We loved the local restaurants we ate at. "Foodies" will love his choices. He perfectly captured our day with lots of photos of us.Written February 5, 2020
- danblair630 contributionsDMZ and Hue Day TourMy husband and I were seeking a tour that took us into the DMZ of the Vietnam War era, and also to see the Vinh Moc tunnels; David got us there and much more. Our ship was docked in Chan May Bay between DaNang and Hue, so he and our driver Tom obligingly transported us 3 hours to get to the sights we were looking for. Along the way we saw the agrarian side of Vietnam.... farmers working in their rice paddies, cassava fields, peanuts, cashews and bananas, and shrimp farms on the ocean side. We passed through many small country villages and absorbed the simplicity of life in the farming villages of Vietnam. We stopped for a sample of the amazing Vietnam coffee, so delicious!! We also paid a visit to the skeletal remains of the bombed Catholic Church, Long Hung, which stands through time as a war memorial. We saw a lot of beautiful coastline of the East Vietnam Sea, which we had mistakenly been calling the South China Sea. All through the drive David shared the area’s history, and current life of the people of central Vietnam, exactly what we were wanting. We arrived at the Vinh Moc tunnels and trenches, and David filled us in on that amazing engineering feat, and the history of the people’s years of sheltering there as we climbed deep down into the tunnels. Also still visible are craters from bombs that were dropped there. At the DMZ, we walked the bridge over the Ben Hai River at the 17th Parallel, the dividing line between the North and South, and discussed the photos and artifacts in the visitor center/ museum there. David then took us to our meal in a local restaurant that served us traditional family-style, and it was one of the tastiest meals of our trip.... so good! David took many photos of us to document our visit, and kept us well supplied with ice-cold water, and cold towelettes as the day was hot. Our driver Tom was the best, always safe and very smooth operation. We appreciated him very much. We cannot say enough good things about David and the tour he designed for us, it was perfect for us. Thank you very much, David and Tom.Written January 10, 2020
- Frenglish0 contributionsDa Nang done right! We had a wonderful time and great tour by David. He really knows Vietnam and I would recommend any of his tours. David made sure that we were always comfortable (nice new van) cold water, wet towels etc. David is the king of cutting queues but you have to stay close. We visited the wonderful and very crowded Bana Hills. Couldn’t have done it without this guide. A+Written July 6, 2019
- LuvLuvLuv2Travel0 contributionsNice DayMy friends and I had a very nice day with Son. It was raining pretty hard the morning of our trip, so we decided not to go to HUE, but to go to Hoi An with the hope that there would be nicer weather there. Good decision! We ended up having a really nice time and the sun came out. We all loved Hoi An, and wished that we could have been there longer. We found a great shop for silk and cashmere at really good prices. Our lunch in Hoi An at Hai Cafe was amazing, too. On our way to Hoi An we stopped by a beautiful lagoon (Oyster farm area) for local coffee, as well as stops at China Beach and Marble Mountain. It was a lovely day. A couple of things to NOTE: 1) If you would like David to be your guide, you have to ask for him specifically. I had been in contact with David prior to our cruise to arrange a tour, and thought that he was going to be our guide. I actually thought that he was the only guide for Chan May, and so I was surprised when a guide other that David showed up. The other guide was great, but just not what I was expecting. 2) TIP--If you want to spend more time in Hoi An, try to spend less time on the other stops. In hindsight, I wish that we had spent less time at Marble Mountain and China Beach. All and all we had a wonderful day, and I would highly recommend this company.Written February 18, 2019
- TravelBug7350 contributionsExcellent - Thank you DavidWe organised our tour with David prior to our cruise and were so glad we did. Davids' knowledge of the area is excellent. His explanations were clear and concise - truly appreciative of this. Upon arrival into Chan May Port, it was raining, cold and miserable day but we visited Oyster & Pearl Farm, prior to endeavouring the BBC Top Gear windy road. LOVED IT! The view stops were breathtaking. We then visited China Beach and Marble Mountain (purchased a few marble pieces as gifts for family). Lunch, which was included, was awesome! We then wondered through the colourful streets, the colour and vibe was magnified by the fact that it was leading up to Luna New Year. Upon returning to our cruise, our fellow passengers were disappointed with their day touring the area - this was NOT the case for my husband and I. Our visit has truly made us more determined to return. We will be contacting David when we confirm dates and get him to organise accommodation, tours etc. for our future visit. Thank you David, for making our initial visit to the area a happy and memorableWritten February 13, 2019
- bkahuna20 contributionsGreat private tour excursionMy wife and I took a private tour from the cruise port with David. We saw the sites of China Beach, Marble mountain and Hoi An city just before the Lunar new year so we got to enjoy the colors, flowers and celebrations. David not only is knowledgeable with narrative but he supplements is discussion with images on his tablet which make the sites come alive. We are both seniors and find walking long distances and climbing steps challenging so David modified the itinerary and time to meet our needs. Thank goodness for the elevator at marble mountain. We could not resist buying some hand made silk in Hoi An after David brought us to a place where we could see the process from worm to completed fabric. He also arranged an special lunch which met our restricted dietary requirement's. Overall a wonderful experience which I would definitely recommend to anyone. David's company does tours at a number of locations ours was of Hoi An and the surrounding areaWritten February 2, 2019
- Janine R0 contributionsPrivate Shore Excursion in HueWe travelled on Voyager of the Seas in July 2018 and booked our tour with David after reading great reviews. From the moment I made contact with David, his responses were prompt and clear, We were travelling with our teenage children and both my own parents and my parents-in-law. The day was particularly hot and humid - over 40 degrees C, Our guide, Son, was very considerate finding shade and offering the air-conditioned bus to our parents as an alternative to some attractions when the humidity got too much for them. Son's English was exceptional - the best that we had experienced in all of Vietnam - as not only were we able to understand him easily, he could also easily understand us so we were able to ask questions as we toured the attractions. My husband is still raving about the delicious coffee David provided as a gift so we certainly can not recommend David and Vietnam Shore Excursions enough! Especially when compared with the absolute shambles of the one and only (thankfully!) tour that we booked through Royal Caribbean - what a joke they are! Do yourself a favour and book with Vietnam Shore Excursions! https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowUserReviews-g298085-d8630974-r646164227-Vietnam_Shore_Excursions-Da_Nang.html#Written January 15, 2019
- Geordie W0 contributionsFood tour Hué by Geordie WorlandDavid’s food tour in Hué is world class. At just the right ace we made our way across the city to tucked away secret local restaurants. The food is fantastic and accompanied by David’s friendly nature and awesome knowledge the night was a huge success. I can’t recommend this highly enough. This highly enough! Thanks David!Written January 5, 2019
- travelguyCalgary0 contributionsShip Tours of Ha Long Bay, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu My (Saigon)We did not do a tour of Hue but used David's company for tours of 4 other locations in Vietnam. We were 4 couples on a cruise of SE Asia from Hong Kong to Singapore. After doing quite a bit of research we decided to book our 4 shore excursions with David. We are very glad that we did. He responded very promptly to all of our questions and provided accurate details and informative suggestions of each tour. We were met promptly at all of the stops. In Halong we did a 8 hour cruise of Halong Bay on a large boat for just the 8 of us. The meal of the ship had many many dishes, so something for everyone, and enough for 16 people. In Danang and Nha Trang we saw not only the regular tourist sights but were taken to visit families that worked in various crafts, clay cooking stoves, rice paper cakes, silks, traditional hats. In Phu My David convinced us to do both the Cu Chi tunnels and Saigon as the ship was there until 11pm. it was a long day with lots of driving but we were really glad we did. Not something that is possible on a ship tour and it was nice to see downtown Saigon lit up after dark. David picked excellent restaurants and no one complained about the food. All of the guides, including David who was our guide in Danang, spoke good English and were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They guided us through the busy streets very efficiently. And I cannot say enough about the unsung heroes, the drivers, who safely steered us through the chaos of Vietnamese traffic and were always there to pick us up. The vans were clean and comfortable and all had wifi. Highly recommended tours especially for a group of friends or family. Thanks David.Written December 5, 2018
- leannes1710 contributionsHue - Night Street Food Cyclo TourDavid really was an amazing, informative tour guide that took us to some fabulous places to dine and take in the local cultures of Hue. David had excellent English and we thoroughly enjoyed all the places we visited food was exceptional. It was such a fun night (which ended in a few beers together) we highly recommend David and would not hesitate to reach out again in future when we return to Vietnam. David is an excellent guide, good knowledge of local history and well able to adjust to our interests and background. He was helpful by e-mail in trip planning and able to adjust to our schedule (e.g, getting us to the airport and oriented there.) The mausoleums of two earlier kings, outside the city, were of great interest and not something we'd have thought of. We got around by small boat, car, pedicab, as needed to see the different aspects of the area, and he found wonderful places to eat.
