- Q2061XJjimmyp00Amazing timeI had a great time! Our tour guide, Mr Châu was an amazing person to have on our tour. Super friendly and informative
- JonDCork00Great trip cycling and kayaking roads, paths and waterways less travelledDid exactly what it said on the tin. Off the beaten track. Didnt meet any other tourists. Fantastic time cycling down paths visiting villages, market places , local eateries and our homestay. Highlights were a kayak trip to see sunrise on Mekong Delta and an early morning visit to a local market. Travelled with my 21 year old daughter. Lee pitched the physical exertion just right, pushed our limits but not beyond which was great. Thanks for a great trip Lee and also for sending on some great photos.
- jofrepoch400Pleasant and wonderful day in family in the rural VietnamIt was an amazing experience and a wonderful day in family. We enjoyed cycling and kayaking in rural and local areas, where we have been able to take a taste of the authentic rural Vietnamese culture. Thanks a lot to Bao, our guide, which has been the best guide ever. He told us a lot about Vietnamese history, culture and traditions. The best decision!
- sbwakeford00Great for getting off the tourist trail! What a fantastic day. Our guide Lee was such a superstar, great English, happy to answer all our questions and gave us some great insights into life in the Mekong Delta. The bikes were excellent , great gear and such a beautiful, flat ride.. even in the heat, the breeze kept us cool and we saw so many interesting things. Lee made sure we were watered and fed, he took really good care of us. Boat trip and kayak were a great addition to the experience, tranquil and peaceful as we travelled along the stream and mangroves. There were awesome photo opportunities and Lee took lots of images of us so we have some great photos of our memories… would 100% recommend trip…
- Jet60018800Book this TripIf you are looking for a quiet day in the countryside, this trip is for you. There were only 3 people booked for the day and normally the minimum is 4 (August is the slow season) so we were asked to pay an additional $15 for a "private" trip, which was fine. We were picked up in a comfortable SUV for the ~2 hour drive down to Cái Be, where Mr. Lee picked up some bánh mì for us. We had a restroom break where we picked up the bikes, then we rode down to the boat. Mr. Lee took us to the local market where they had a few treats set up for us- fresh pineapple and pummelo. Then back on the boat for another half an hour or so to the canal where we kayaked. It poured down rain and we got very wet! But it was peaceful and quiet kayaking in the canal for about 30-45 minutes. Then back on the boat where we sampled some rice wine made by Captain Ba's wife and fruit from his garden. Then we offloaded the bikes and spent an hour or so riding through the area around Cái Be, stopping for fried banana in sticky rice (amazing!!!). We rode to a local restaurant for pho (delicious), had a snooze in the hammocks while it rained some more, and then rode maybe another 30 minutes back to the car where Mr. Lee had cold beers waiting for us. A short break to change out of our wet clothes and then the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. This outfit does a great job with logistics. They have clearly set up relationships with several local businesses in Cái Be and the whole trip is very smooth and stress free. You don't need to worry about water or snacks or bathroom breaks because they have planned all of it. You literally only need your sunscreen and maybe sunglasses and a change of shorts for the day. And it feels less like a tour than going to visit your Vietnamese cousin and having him show you around his hometown. We ran into an issue with the a/c in the car not working, but we just had some coffee while Mr. Lee had it fixed - they clearly have contingency plans in place. It was great to just cruise around and see the countryside a bit and no other tourists in sight. Pro tips: wear shorts and Tevas or similar if you have them. You leave your shoes on the boat when you go kayaking. Bring an extra pair of shorts to change into for the ride home. They provide rain ponchos but you might be a little damp and dirty if it rains. I might have gotten a mosquito bite or two but I didn't notice until I got home-there were not a lot of mosquitoes in Cái Be. I didn't have bug spray on and it was fine.
- colmh768005/5Absolutely fantastic tour, our favourite thus far in Vietnam. Bao, our guide, had a wonderfully genuine manner and was happy to answer any questions we had!
- MGot1700Local views & exerciseWorth the trip! Included pick up from hotel, stop at a local coffee shop, boat ride with stop at a local wet market, 30+min kayak on the Mekong through local canals and a 24km bike ride through local village roads with stops for a snack and lunch.
- U2550TGjoycel00Excellent kayak and cycling tourWe had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful scenery of Mekong area by kayak and bike in the tour. Our tour guide Bao was excellent, he is genuinely friendly, knowledgeable and very good at taking pictures. We chose a private tour due to low season. Bao came with the driver at 7am to pick us up at our hotel, from there a wonderful day started. The drive from CBD to Mekong was two hours. After an hour Bao bought some yummy Vietnamese buns, and we stopped by a cafe to have breakfast. We arrived Countryside Adventures in Cai Be Town at 10 am. From there we walked 5 minutes to the pier to take a private boat. The boat operator let us drove the boat a bit which was quite fun. When the boat arrived at an island Bao and the boat operator put three kayaks in the water. The kayaks were very new and clean. We kayaked through some scenic passages with greens on both sides. It was quite a unique experience. When we came back to the boat some fresh fruit and coconut were prepared for us. After the boat dropping us to the pier, we walked back to Countryside Adventures and Bao set up bicycles for us. Bao asked us our preference for lunch, we opted for Vietnamese pancakes which we never had before. We cycled 4 kilometers to the restaurant, and had the delicious pancake with meat and vegetable, together with fried and plain Vietnamese rolls. After lunch we cycled 12 kilometers and passed through houses, villages, durian tree and beautiful flowers. It was raining a bit or otherwise we may complete the whole 25 kilometers cycling route. I highly recommend this tour to someone looking for some adventure in the Mekong area. Thanks again Bao for your hospitality and nice pictures.
- maiaibing00Varied and well-thought-out cycling tourThank you to Bao for taking us on this wonderful tour where we learned a lot about the Vietnamese people and nature. We went places where tourists usually don't come, riding along beautiful bike paths. Also the kayaking was nice. The bikes are in good condition. The only thing I would like different was the choice of restaurant. The food was OK, but it was right by a busy road. We saw some nice restaurants along the river.
- jamescA4138TG00Adventure filled dayI would highly recommend this tour for anyone who is up for adventure in the Mekong without the crowdedness of most other tours. The day started with getting picked up from our accommodation and our tour guide, Bao, providing a high level overview of the day's activities. The first stop we made was for a light breakfast and drink which was a nice way to break up the long drive to the Mekong. The cycling activity was great as the bikes provided were very comfortable for the terrain which made it easier to enjoy the scenery of durian and jackfruit trees. The activity is suitable for all fitness levels and Bao ensures that everyone is able to go at their own pace and allows for multiple stops to take photos. You are provided with a bottle of water at the beginning of the activity and about midway through we had a stop at a small shop where we could get more water (included as part of the tour at no further cost) and Bao also went to buy the local speciality which was a delicious fried banana (also at no further cost). Prior to returning to the bike rental shop, we had lunch at local restaurant which was a delicious bowl of pho and again, this was another stop where we could grab more bottles of water. Following returning the bikes, we walked to the boat tour which was about 5min away. While making our way to the kayaking spot, we were given the opportunity to drive the boat! The kayaking was through a very calm stretch of water which made it easy to paddle and suitable for even first time kayakers. Once back on the boat, we had a feast of local fruits. Overall, it was a fantastic day out and I would highly recommend to everyone!
- aashwinv00I don't say this too often...But I feel like they're underselling the experience here. I'm not easily impressed, but I have to say I had a fantastic experience and can whole heartedly recommend this. I coordinated a special arrangement with Joe to book the trip who was very accomodating and understanding. Great communication and friendly. Our tour guide on the day was Bao who was absolutely fantastic. Couldn't have asked for anything more. he offered great insights, was friendly, and adapted to everyones needs and skill level. He was switched on and made sure everyone was safe and having a good time. At various points during the trip, things were included that aren't mentioned in the advertisement. It's all inclusive! So you don't have to worry about hidden costs. They pick up right from your hotel/airbnb, include a free breakfast and coffee break, lunches, water, fruit stops... The cycling was great. The bikes are more than capable for the riding we did. You are riding away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and through the local region near the mekong. No traffic or traffic lights for the majority of the course. Just windy paths and scenery. It's beautiful and you'll be greeted with many 'Xin Chao's from the locals and children of the region. The lunch was a delicious bowl of pho, and prior to this Bao spontaneously decided that we must a local speciality that of fried banana. Again delicious. Next up was a boat trip through the Mekong. It was informative and the captain even let us take the wheel for a bit. The kayaking was serene and beautiful. Good kayaks. We finished off with a coconut and fruit feast to replenish our energy on the boat ride back. All activities are not very physically strenuous, so I would say it accessible to all fitness levels. Highlight of my Vietnam trip.
- theworldiswide00Our guide, Bao, deserves 100 stars! We’ve been on numerous bike tours and Bao was one of the best guides we’ve ever had. While the Mekong delta river wasn’t anything special, we enjoyed the kayaking. The biking though little village neighborhoods was a lot of fun! The tour was expertly organized and executed, every little detail considered. And despite it being a record-breaking HOT day, Bao kept the day fun and made sure we felt safe and well looked after!
- formeryogi00Do it.We booked a full day and were exhausted at the end, but it was worth every penny. Vietnam was in the midst of a heat wave, so we were very hot! Our van ride started at our hotel in Siagon. Along the way, we stopped at a "rest stop" and has included sandwich snack and drinks. The bike ride was mostly flat and easy. It took us on pathways through villages that a normal tourist would never know existed. We saw the real Vietnam... some of the houses were very nice and some were very shabby. Our lunch stop was at an authentic "roadside" restaurant where we were served a type of Pho. The bike ride continued and then we transitioned to a boat that dropped us off for a kayak ride through the canal (thankfully shaded by trees). It was a fantastic day. In a perfect world, I would have cut the bike ride about 15 minutes earlier (it was long) but our guide and the overall trip was excellent.
- 756ashleighw00Amazing, unforgettable day 10/10Best tour we did in Vietnam!! Had the best day with a very small of 4 people and our guide Bao was incredible! Amazing man who was very personable, compassionate and was clearly and excellent and passionate guide. Very well organised trip and a great way to experience the Mekong delta. Kayaks and bikes were comfortable and great quality and the routes we took were beautiful and felt very untouched. Comfortable small bus transport to and from the city was very easy, and we would absolutely do this again if we come back to South Vietnam. Simply cannot recommend high enough, and feel incredibly lucky to have been assigned Bao as our guide for the day
- gerrydD3981OQ00Great day outBao was a great guide and the activities were very enjoyable. The food was very tasty and thankfully, because of the very high temperature, we had lots of drinks breaks
