- leewin29180 contributionsBest Food Tour in SaigonHands down the best tour I've ever been on. The staff went above and beyond to make the tour exceptional. We had some amazing food, got to see Saigon up close, and made some great memories. Highly, highly recommend!Written October 10, 2024
- R2907LAmarkr0 contributionsA blast of a nightMs Hao and Ms Nhi were hilarious, generous and very sharp in their night-time tour of Ho Chi Minh City’s restaurants and back streets. We learnt about so much apart from food, and the food itself was glorious. It was a night we won’t forget. Thank you and good luck Ms Hao and Ms NhiWritten September 9, 2024
- C9307EFmarym0 contributionsThe very BEST way to explore the real Saigon!Surely one of the very best ways to explore the real Saigon and to experience daily life - and some amazing food, first hand. Of course it also helps to be accompanied by two of the most FANTASTIC guides - Kim and Tao, who were knowledgable, interesting and lots of fun - and excellent motorbike drivers! This tour should be compulsory for anyone wishing to really get to know Saigon! AMAZING!Written August 21, 2024
- 417briara0 contributionsAwesome night outGreat night out with Ai Truc and Phuong around Simon last night. Great fun and food along with information about the country Please do this if you get a chanceWritten July 14, 2024
- Andrewmillar40 contributionsFantastic experience - absolute just do in SaigonSuch an incredible, authentic Vietnam experience - not to be missed. Lovely drivers/hosts, amazing local food and sightseeing. Couldn’t fault the experience. So lovely of them to accomodate for our dietary requirements as we went from local food vendor to the next. Everyone from our 7 yo son, our teenage boys, adults - all loved the experience. Best thing we’ve done in Vietnam. Thank you to Back of the Bike tours for looking after our family so well.Written July 3, 2024
- Val P0 contributionsBest way to spend an afternoonMy husband and I did this yesterday as we had very limited time in Saigon and thought this was a good way to use our time. It was absolutely the right choice. Our guides Tien and Ai were 2 delightful young women and there was also one extra rider who rode ahead to make sure everything was ready for our visit at each vendor. Tien and Ai were very competent riders in Saigon’s hectic traffic. I didn’t once feel uncomfortable or scared on the bike! The food we ate was nothing we’d had before and we would not have found these places to eat either. One was tucked away through alley after alley of back streets in district 10. My favourite stop was the second where we sampled the most delicious sea snails in coconut broth, 2 different dishes of clams, and morning glory with finger (razor) clams. Then we were served a delicious crab dish. There were 5 stops altogether. And we were dropped back at our hotel at the end. All in all an exciting experience which we are so glad we did.Written May 25, 2024
- Mark R0 contributionsHo Chi Minh’s Best Meals on WheelsKim took me on a fabulous tour to many out of the way places to sample some of Ho Chi Minh’s best dishes. Being on the back of her motorcycle during peak hour traffic took things to the next level! Her “wingman” Dung (trust I got that right) also did an amazing job. I have done many food tours in Asia recently and this one is up there as one of the best! Highly recommend.Written May 9, 2024
- 2022ShereeM0 contributionsBest night ever!My husband and I absolutely loved the foodie night out on the back of the bikes. We would never have taken ourselves to the places we were taken to or ordered some of the food that was cooked for us. The two drivers of the bikes were amazing! They were very experienced and put us at ease in the busy traffic right from the start. They both spoke very good English and were very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information with us. They were very bubbly, fun and exciting and it was obvious they enjoyed what they did on these tours. They were very easy to get along with which made the evening very enjoyable. Thanks so much for the best night out and we would definitely recommend this trip to everyone!Written May 9, 2024
- gordonbY2173UQ0 contributionsBrilliant experienceWe did the Back of the Bike Food Tour and it was fantastic. Very competent and thoughtful drivers who took good care of us but still made sure we got a real taste of being on a scooter in Ho Chi Minh City!! Great food to in places that we probably wouldn’t have gone to without their guidance. Thoroughly recommend tour. Great fun.Written April 22, 2024
- V6754JSmichaelb0 contributionsSo much fun!An absolute highlight of my families 2 week tour of Vietnam. Really really good fun, great guides (all of whom are girls) and something I’d highly recommend for anyone going to Saigon. It all kicked off with our 4 guides rocking up to our hotel on these scooters, intros were done, helmets issued, and we were given a short safety brief on the tour which was about to unfold. We kicked off, the girls drive, you just sit on the back as they weave their magic charging through the bustle known as Ho Chi Minh. It’s initially, like ‘what the heck, are we going to be ok or are we gonna eat asphalt’!!! I’m normally the one on the front, so to be a pillion was weird, but after only a few minutes I was like, this is cool. Cat, my driver has it all in hand. The girls, yes they are all girls, can ride, drive; call it what you will. My wife was with her rider, my son and daughter with theirs respectfully as we motored through town heading for our first destination. All of which were outside of District 1, so we got to see where the locals actually tend to eat. We were amongst a larger group of around 25-30 people. If you don’t feel comfortable being on the back of a bike, we also noticed that they have the option of being driven in a car and joining the rest of your group at each stop, but in our case, we loved being amongst the traffic so didn’t require this options. We went to 5 restaurants tasting their individual speciality dishes (complete with free flowing drinks). We stayed for around say 30-45 mins in each location, trialling different food whilst slotting a quick beer, juice, ice tea or whatever your preference is, before we pressed onto the next restaurant. Also just to note, my wife is allergic to shellfish which we let them know in advance and they were easily able to accommodate this. One of the other great things about this tour is that they have multiple people riding bikes alongside you who are taking photos & videos all the way. We ended up getting over 40 photos/videos emailed to us the next day which was fantastic. All up I think the tour went for around 4.5 hours which sounds like a long time but in reality, it whizzes by as its such good fun. Let me just say that you will not leave this tour hungry, and you will end up with photos/videos of your experience. Well worth the investment in my opinion.Written April 17, 2024
- mlphan0 contributionsCan't miss this food tour with the friendliest tour guides! One of the highlights of our month-long trip to Vietnam was the Back of the Bike tour! My sister and her husband had done it five years ago and loved it so much that they booked the same tour for us when we went back with our parents this year. My mum was very nervous at first because she had never ridden on a motorbike before, but each of the tour guides was matched up with us perfectly. The guide that my mum got was very kind and considerate and consented to having my mum wrap her arms around her. However, my mum quickly got very comfortable. After the first couple of rides, she was the only one out of the five of us who didn’t hang onto anything while riding the bike! She was just like a local. ;) We got the Chefs tour and each place we went to was thoughtfully selected and explained to us. There was plenty of food; each of the guides made sure that if we wanted anything more or different, we would get it. We got to try so many different drinks and food! And we were so truly well taken care of. For example, both my parents felt quite pampered when the guides were getting the crab meat out of the shells for all of us; normally, it’s my parents who do that for us kids so this was a real treat for them! (If you’re Asian, especially, you will understand. :D) Our trip was already a couple of months ago now, but whenever I talk to my mum on the phone, she always brings up how she wants to be back on the bike. 🙂 Thank you so much to Lan, Phuong Anh, Kim Anh, Ai & Uyen for being so absolutely lovely, kind, and considerate. We had so much fun with all of you; you made my parents so happy and I cannot thank you all enough for that! The pictures that were taken are such happy memories that we will treasure forever. (Many thanks to the two gentlemen who were part of the group, as well!)Written March 28, 2024
- alicebL6482ZC0 contributionsA Can’t Miss TourMy favorite experience on our trip to Vietnam! Kim Anh and Linh were amazing guides, taking us to 5 different delicious spots on their bikes. The bikes are the best way to see Saigon, a very comfortable experience. I felt nervous at first but acclimated very quickly, and our guides made us feel safe. It was so lovely to have Kim Ang and Linh introduce us to some local foods, and to make the experience seamless by picking us up from our hotel, shepherding us from place to place and dealing with the parking, the ordering, and dropping us back off. It feels like a true VIP experience. Along the way, we took lots of photos that they shared with us later, and they gifted us with a brochure of personalized recommendations at the end of the tour. I really can’t recommend this tour enough. A huge thanks to Kim Anh and Linh for the best possible intro to Ho Chi Minh City.Written February 28, 2024
- alexbE1487RW0 contributionsGreat food and conversationMy wife and I were guided by Kim Anh and Linh to some very unique eating experiences in HCM. They tailored our orders to match our more-adventurous tastes to included baby quail egg and Durian desert. Getting around on the scooters is great and not at all scary. Beyond the food, getting to know these local guides over a few shared meals and learning about how they live in HCM is what really sets this tour apart.Written February 28, 2024
- Big_Earle0 contributionsMust Do If you like food!!We had a free evening in HCMC and thought this would be a fun way to see the city and try a bunch of great food. We were right! Nhung, Tham and Tuan meet us at our hotel right on time, gave us an orientation and off we went! First, from a safety and comfort standpoint, any reservations we had about being on scooters were fine by the first stop. Nhung and Tham, our drivers and personal guides were expert drivers and we felt secure and comfortable the whole time. If you choose this tour, come hungry because there are a lot of stops and everything we tried was great. All the food was a highlight. That said, for us, the highlights of the highlights were: First stop of papaya salad with beef; second stop of wraps and rolls (this was a highlight especially because of the time Tham and Nhung spent explaining the different herbs that were offered for the wraps); third stop of pork skewers (so simple, but amazing!); fifth stop of seafood (sea snails, prawns, razor clams…) might have been our favorite for the combination of great food and a fun setting; final stop for dessert (che thai with durian and the soursop smoothie were terrific). After we admitted that we couldn’t eat any more, Tham and Nhung dropped us back at our hotel. None of this would have been as good without Tuan, who went ahead to each spot to ensure that we had tables, parking and orders placed for quick service when we arrived. Apart from the tour itself, it was great to be able to talk and share meals with our guides for an extended period of time instead of the typical tour where the guides are primarily there to lecture and answer questions. This was truly interactive. Back of the Bike Tours is a first class operation and was prompt and easy to work with before and after the tour.Written February 17, 2024
- chantalew20200 contributionsHoliday Highlight! My family and I had an amazing experience riding on the back of bikes around Ho Chi Minh City and sampling amazing authentic Vietnamese cuisine at 5 different locations. As well as being a good feed the bikers took us through over half of the city districts which provided a great overview of the city and major attractions. The areas visited included picturesque alley ways that are only known by the locals providing a good insight into Vietnamese daily life. Tun, Phong, Anh and Thao were all very knowledgeable guides as well as charming entertaining hosts. We would consider the tour the highlight of the holiday!Written January 23, 2024

We did the Back of the Bike tour with Thanh and Diep and had the most incredible time! They are so sweet and very knowledgeable about the cuisine we tasted as well as sharing lots of information about their country. They made to the tour so much fun! Their English is superb and their energy and positivity is infectious! We felt totally safe with them behind the wheel of the bikes. Driving in HCM City is pretty scary to a westerner, but they are professionals and made safety a top priority. We went to a total of 5 restaurants in several districts around HCM City and are the most exquisite food. It’s hard to pick a favorite, as the all were so delicious. We were even invited to participate in a few places to learn more about the cuisine we’d be eating. This was such a special & memorable experience and I would highly recommend it. A huge thanks to Thanh and Diep for taking such good care of us & to the photographer for the fun pictures. Everything about this was professional & top-notch!!!

We had an incredible time on this tour! Our hosts Quynh2 and Hieu were simply sensational, along with the other guides. We travelled in small groups and it was easy to get chatting with the other people.
Quynh2 and Hieu were full of fun facts and stories, I really feel that they went above and beyond to make sure that we all had a good time, which we all did! They even joined us for some karaoke after :)
Travelling by bike through the city was so much fun. A wonderful way to see the city. And the food! The food!! You just need to try it.
Go on this tour. You won't regret it. One of the best things I did in HCMC.

My wife and I went on a Back of the Bike tour on our recent trip to Saigon. We had a truly wonderful experience, from the extensive and diverse food, to traveling to parts of the city that we otherwise would not have gone to. Our guides were great drivers, spoke perfect English, and shared with us plenty of interesting details about Vietnamese food and culture. The restaurants we went to provided a variety of delicious food - we were stuffed by the end. The tour that night ended up being quite large, but the fact that there is 1 guide/driver for every person meant that the experience did not overcrowded. If you enjoy food and want to experience Saigon a little off the beaten path, then I would highly recommend this tour.

I booked back of the bike after hearing my friend rave about her experience. It was definitely a highlight of my trip. The team was very professional and friendly. Before I hopped on the motorbike, my guide Khanh instructed me to remove my gold jewelry and she put my purse away before going to the local eateries. I got to try a wide variety of Vietnamese food and even tried Balut. We didn't go to any touristy places which was a plus. I will say however that the tour was on the pricier side compared to other food tours on airbnb.

I did this the very first night in HCMC and I recommend you do too. First off, it was so fun riding through the traffic with the experienced drivers, such a great experience, and safe!. Each guests has their own driver and mine was awesome and I liked him a lot. The restaurants they bring us to are very Vietnamese and it's great to taste the local flavor and dishes with the expertise of the tour hosts (they know a lot). You even get to make some of your own and try some foods you thought you might never try (Balut?!). Pace yourself along the way, don't eat too much in the first couple of places or you might not truly enjoy everything! Only thing I wish they done is introduce all the guests more formally before starting the tour. In any case, I would 100% do this! Have fun!

Our group of 3 adults had an absolute blast on the taste of Vietnam tour. I was a little hesitant to book because of the cost and I was uneasy about riding on the back of the bike. Have no fear, the cost is 100% worth it and riding on the back of the bike is a total thrill that you must try while in Saigon.
We were treated to a private tour as it was only the three of us on the tour that evening. (Had there been more people I'm confident it would have been just as fun.) We cruised around the city to 5 different food stops. At each location we had unlimited food and drink, discussed ingredients, cooking and of course eating. They also had a guy (I cant remember his name, sorry!), who took photos the entire night and made sure everything ran smoothly. It was like having your own photographer. Lol. This company has thought of everything!
The food was fantastic and we got to try things we had never had before and now look for on menus. We also had the chance to cook some of the food ourselves which was so much fun.
The highlight of the tour was our guides. They were such a riot!! We had so much fun getting to know them and sharing so many laughs.
I have travelled all over the world and never had so much fun on a tour. A big shout out to our amazing, guides Hung1, Van and Thuy2 who taught us about vietnamese food, culture and fun. We lovvvvvved our time with you and haven't stopped talking about you guys for the last 5 days. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I cant imagine anybody, young or old not having a blast on this tour. It really feels like a great night out, eating with friends!

My wife and I did this tour together and we just loved it. There is no way you could possibly find these restaurants or types of foods on your own. Trust me we have tried. Hahah. Our drivers Ai and Tien were amazing. We have done 3 tours while in Saigon and they have been the bear guides so far. They explained all the foods and there meaning to the culture as well as along the rides pointing out interesting parts of the city. I can’t say enough great things about our drivers. It was such a great way to see and experience the city. I posted some videos on my IG and got plenty of comments on the foods and the explanations from the guide. Sooo much fun. No shortage of food that’s forsure

If you believe as we do that food and culture are related and important, then put this on your "must do" list. Our guides, Khoa, Hanh and Sang, were outstanding. They were knowledgeable, outgoing and enable to convey their wonderful personalities because they possess outstanding language skills. Two of us are in our 80s and we felt absolutely comfortable on the back of their motorbikes, a view of Ho Chi Minh at night we wouldn't have had otherwise. My wife is a restauranteur and cookbook author, specializing in Asian cuisine, and she found the food and presentation at all five stops, as we three did, delicious, interesting and new to her (and our palates). There are less expensive tours of this type, but in this case you really get what you pay for.

A wonderful tasting tour with warm and enthusiastic locals. Riding the streets on scooters is a whole lot more fun and relaxing than walking amongst them. And what a pleasure to spend time talking to the young team of guides who really embody all that’s positive about Vietnam. Excellent fun...

My husband and I had a wonderful food tour last night with the delightful Hanh2 and Hung1 and a photographer who made us fell like celebrities. We dashed around Saigon from restaurant to restaurant moving seamlessly and safely through the sea of bikes and cars chatting all the way.
Couple of cookery demonstrations and 5 dishes later we were set to work at our own pancake stall. We finished the evening with 4 different desserts and a great overview of Vietnamese cuisine
A must do tour in Saigon with great guides and the addition of a fabulous photographer who snapped away whilst we rode and ensured we did not kill ourselves taking the perfect selfie. he duly sent a great selection of pictures the next day
Well done you deserve your success

A reply from one of our team members from your tour:
“We're very glad to have such great customers like you, Claire and Mike. It's not just doing our jobs as tour guides, it's more like meeting the long lost friends. And don't worry about the Dalat's rumor, we're sure your love for each other forever grow."

Why are your tours more than twice as expensive as other comparable street food motorbike tours? Are they different?
Written February 21, 2020
I think it comes down to the quality of the tours, there's an old addich, you get what you pay for. There are lots of copycat tours out there now. And you want to go to somewhere you not going to end up ill.

Can you do this tour in the day or only at night?
Written February 3, 2020
We did it at night - better vibe then during the day in our opinion - and safe
