Don a helmet and after a safety briefing, set out behind your guide to explore. The route takes you along quiet paved roads and dirt tracks, past rice paddies, farms, and villages, and includes photo and snack stops. Call at a mat-weaving workshop, visit a cocoa farm, and pedal around two markets selling fresh fish and other produce. This was a unique and immersive experience in the backroads of this so beautiful region. Our guide "Dat" was exceptionally attentive to our needs and security. During this 25km ride, we had the pleasure to small family business growing cocoa beans, nat knitters, we also had lunch in a local family home along the way. I am just simply happy all over with this intimate experience (4 people), i highly recommend.

We had such an incredible time on this tour with Quyen/Vicky. We love cycling but have ended up on motorbikes most of our time here in Vietnam. The Mekong Delta was the perfect place to cycle, on small paths through the countryside bordered by fruit orchards and rice fields. Vicky is from the Mekong Delta and it felt like she was showing us around her home. We visited a family making mats and also a cacao farm. Both were family run and so welcoming. We really recommend this trip for a one day relaxing trip out of the city to see the Mekong! Cycling is the best way to experience it!

What a great tour on bike of the farms and countryside of the Mekond Delta. We were greeted with hellos from most homes we rode by. Dat was a very knowledgeable guide who answered all our questions and stopped frequently to show us interesting farms, vegetation and even a local wedding. The bikes were in excellent shape and he made sure we were well hydrated and taken care of the whole time. I highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Dat and our driver were a great team in accommodating our group and making sure we were well taken care of. The tour was very well thought out and there never moments where we were waiting around or wanting to get on with the tour. Dat is very informative and guests should be encouraged to ask him about the Vietnamese culture, lots of interesting insights!

I did the 3 day tour with my daughter in mid March. This began with a speed boat trip up river from Saigon, then onto bikes to reach the Chu Chi Tunnels, before we headed off into the Mekong Delta, or 9 Dragon River Delta as Vietnamese people know it. We didn't see another tourist from the moment we left the boat, until we reached the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City on Day 3! This was a fantastic end to 3 weeks in Vietnam! We were in a small group of 4 which made it easy to move around - funnily enough a mother and daughter plus a father and son combo. We felt we struck gold with Nguyen our guide, who was friendly, attentive, with a wry sense of humour and full of interesting information - but I suspect all Grasshopper guides are good!. His choice of food and places to stop along the way was perfect for us. This meant we got a really good impression of what life is like in this rural part of Vietnam. We visited lots of local industries along the way, and were invited into people's homes. I was very impressed with the routes we took off the beaten track, the accommodation and the overall set up Grasshopper provided. The first night we stayed in a smart modern hotel with a swimming pool - welcome after cycling in the daytime heat of mid 30 degrees; we had dinner in a riverboat restaurant. The second night we stayed at an island homestay, where the family provided a lovely meal and we slept in a shared dormitory; electric fans kept us cool at night. The setting among fruit trees and lotus blossoms was magical. Grasshopper's technical side of things was good too - the bikes were high quality with plenty of gears, front suspension and good brakes. Our support van made regular contact for refreshment stops but we never had to use him for mechanical assistance. The cycling was not difficult, but the narrow paths, sudden inclines over bridges, and the heat of the day still made it reasonably challenging.
Overall, I was very happy with what Grasshopper provided - it was at the top end of what I would consider spending on adventure activities, but I was impressed by the company's attention to detail - like giving us water bottles and cycling shirts to take home, and a goody bag of presents - as well covering important issues like good food and nice places to stay....I am now thinking about my next trip with Grasshoppers!

I can't praise this enough. Phat was our guide and had thought of everything from ice to cool the water bottles down to ringing ahead to the lovely lady who cooked us vegetarian food for our lunch. The cycle was 27km on a baking day but with light rain which kept us cool. The cycles were in excellent condition and the technical elements went very smoothly including fixing my saddle height and squeaky breaks. We had a minor injury our youngest (13) fell off (his fault)and Phat was quick and reassuring with a first aid kit. His knowledge of the local area was impeccable and we met the loveliest people including a new pen pall for our 13 year old in a 13 year old boy - a totally lovely family we'll keep in touch with we hope....we made the tour late by chatting for so long! The locals were fascinated by the long hair of our lads and the beard on my husband so lots of waving and friendly shouting. The roads were in excellent condition so very easy to cycle. lunch was absolutely gorgeous. we then went round a local market and ended on a boat tour with fresh coconuts. The whole experience was professional but with elements of spontaneity, uniquely warm, well planned, safe but fun and adventurous. You MUST do this!

We just did this tour with 10 people. 4 adults, 3 teenagers and a 10, 9, 7 year old. We left HCMC at 7:15 AM (from District 2) and returned around 6:00 pm. It’s a full/great day!

We have done other Grasshopper tours (Hoi An) and love it. Always professional, guides and fun, creative and good communicators in English.

The tour covers about 18 miles of riding through the delta with visits to a few highlights. We have been living in VN 3 years and been to Mekong probably 6 times and the shops and stops we visited on this tour were new and unique to us (off the beaten path).

Totally recommend this.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable day trip with our guide, Klas, and a family of 4. Over the course of a couple of hours, we pedaled 28 km through the back "roads" of the Mekong Delta, through mostly farming country. The "roads" vary from 0.5-meter-wide dirt tracks to ~1.5-meter-wide concrete lanes. The cycling is very easy, because it is dead flat. Nevertheless, you will be sharing the lanes with the occasional farmer on a scooter and school children on bikes and scooters. The people you will be sharing the road with will realize you are a tourist and take appropriate precautions!

As you ride, every school child (and many adults) within shouting distance will yell "Hello," so you will feel warmly greet.d

The path ranges from tree-shaded lanes to rice fields to the world's shortest ferry ride. We pulled over relatively frequently so the guide can point out various crops (rice, jackfruit, durian, dragonfruit, etc.), and there were a number of short stops to see mat weaving, a cacao "plantation," and the like.

Overall, I had a great day. Our guide was very knowledgeable, both about the Mekong in particular but also about various facets of life in Vietnam.
