I really excited for the trip, however, Mua Cave has let me down. We drive there and it was suppose to be a road lead to the entrance of Mua Caves and along that road there are some parking spot. BUT the locals has blocked that road using trees and soil. I was so shock and disappointing. Furthermore, because the road was blocked, we had to park outside and the price is really a problem. After you climb over that soil wall, the locals offer you a ride (10000 VND). I don't recommend this because I feel like if we use that service, they will keep blocking the road. The view at Mua Caves is nice but I don't think it worth the money. Not recommend this place.

DO NOT STOP YOUR MOTORBIKE UNTIL YOU HAVE REACHED THE ENTRANCE TO HANG MUA! Dishonest local people there ruined the experience. The road leading to hang mua entrance is about 400m long with multiple "parking station" for motorbikes. People there lied to us and forcefully made us park 400 meters away from entrance to profit from parking fee. One of them insisted that only locals can bike to the entrance which is not true. Really a disappointing character from the people in Northern Vietnam.

The scenery is simply unreal, the stairs are WORTH the climb. The sea of Lotus flowers is like something out of a movie. Do not miss this😊

Beautiful place to visit in late afternoon. Gardens at entrance were clean and well maintained but parts before the climb were a little Disneyland ish - I mean what’s with the stone stallions charging thru the fake stream??? The climb up the steep stone steps was an effort but everyone makes it to the top and the view is breathtaking.
Took a taxi from Trang An who waited for us 300k return.

The view overlooking the tam com river is nice even though it was cloudy. A little crammed at the peak with lots of tourists, which made photo-taking challenging. The hike up to the top is manageable, with some steep steps towards the peak. A highlight of the tour despite rainy weather.

There is a fantastic viewing up on the top of the hill, next to the Pagoda. It's quite a climb, but it's worth it. Unfortunately the spot on the top is narrow and it's very crowded.

Would recommend! Definitely go in the morning as early as you can. I started climbing around 9:30 am. The steps themselves aren’t bad at all but it’s the humidity that kills you. I had to take several breaks and sweated a lot but it was definitely worth it and not a long climb to the top. I only climbed to one peak where the dragon statue is (to the left when the path forks). I would recommend that peak if you’re only going to climb one. It’s much higher and you get a view of the river which is beautiful. In the morning there weren’t a ton of people which was very nice.

I had read the reviews on here about the parking scams and was well aware on what to expect. However, I was doing this solo on a bicycle and decided before I got there I was just going to accept getting scammed since it wasn’t worth the hassle over $.20. I was able to ride halfway down the road before being stopped by a lady with a whistle and paid 5k for a bike. It was a short walk to the entrance and I did pass several other locals trying to stop people. I didn’t see the man with scissors until after I had climbed and was walking back to my bike. He didn’t bother me cause I was already walking but there were two men standing in the road with scissors trying to force people to park with them. I did see the free parking inside the gate once I had paid for my ticket (100k). In hindsight, I probably could have avoided them and pushed on to the free parking-but again- wasn’t worth the hassle for such a little amount in USD when I was alone on a bicycle.

Basically, decide for yourself if it’s really worth fighting over less than $1 to park your bike before you go. Expect to pay 5k for a bike or 10k for a scooter.

WARNING: PARKING SCAM AT HANG MUA ENTRANCE!!!

About 250m a lady and man with a whistle jump out in front of your bike/motorbike/car and demand that you must park for a fee (that changes as they decide). They are very aggressive and adamant.
      DO NOT STOP.
There is lots of additional, cheaper and potentially free parking ahead closer to the gate.
When we warned other tourists that they had stopped the lady and man yelled at us and attempted to physically put a hand over my mouth.
      Very unpleasant experience.

The mountain and views are lovely, well worth the climb but this parking issue has unfortunately left a sour taste.
