This is a once in a lifetime experience, that will stay with you forever. You will be accompanied by one (or more) of our expert English-speaking native local guides who have so much knowledge about Sapa, the surroundings, its' history, culture, and the different tribes. We avoid other tourist routes, enjoy Sapa & the ancient tribal culture, craftsmanship and the breath taking rice fields. Stay the night in homestays & enjoy wifi & hot showers, or stay in an authentic local house with a local family. Huddle round an open fire, with rice wine and local delights. Spend time chatting and getting to know your host family. You’ll be surprised by the wonderful effect a “back to basics” lifestyle (even for a couple of days) can have. And by booking with Sapa Tribal Trekking, you are giving back to the local H’mong guides and the local people, giving them opportunities to earn a fair wage, which in a region where 70% of the population is below the poverty line, is desperately need.

        Culture and vegetation.
Great guide Miss Giang! Taught us lots on the culture of the black Hmung tribe, Zai tribe and the local plants whilst being off the beaten trails! The weather was uncooperative but was made up with the experience.

        Amazing day - exceeding expectations
Giao was the best tour guide - her English is incredible and obviously her local knowledge made our walking day extra special . She went over and above to ensure we had the best experience. We had a full day tour with various stops along the way - we went a little off piste (our choice) and saw so much of what the Sapa countryside has to offer . I would thoroughly recommend!

A Beautiful way to experience diverse vietnamese mountain cultures.
Our tours with Antoine from SaPa first day into rice fields and on our second day into farming communities were beautiful. Antoine has a gentle and determined way to inform and entertain us while keeping us motivated to bear the midday heat. We highly recommend tribal tours to anyone interested to experience unique nature and living first hand.

        Amazing, beautiful, interesting and special
I have travelled a lot but this tour was the most beautiful tour, landscape and people I have ever been on. With Antoine we learnt so much about the locals and their culture. I hope to come back one day and do it again and explore more of sapa with him!

        Amazing
Giang is hands down the best tour guide in Sapa. She’s extremely knowledgeable, has many interesting stories. She is very flexible, accommodating and patient. We were super lucky to have her on our private tour and besides the amazing Sapa, being accompanied by Giang was out highlight. We miss you dearly Giang. I would highly recommend her should you visit Sapa!

        Must Do Trek
The 2D/1N trek with Giang was one of the highlights of our trip. The trek was definitely challenging but Giang was encouraging and patient. We really enjoyed hearing about the local cultures and lifestyle and seeing the amazing scenery. Definitely would recommend.

        Increible
Incredible! We did a market tour to Coc Ly and a two day trek with Giang. Her knowledge, storytelling, and personality made the time with her truly memorable. The market tour was authentic as it gets as i t is not usually visited by many tourists. The trek was a challenge but only because we were there for cold, cloudy , rainy weather. Giang's explanations gave us insight into the lives of the tribal people of the region. A trek with Giang will remain in your memory bank for a long time.

        I can’t wait to return!
Thank you Giang… & my homestay family for the evening…. for one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I’m a keen traveller & rarely return to the same place twice - but I will return here as soon as possible. My guide Giang was so lovely, kind, sweet, knowledgeable & interesting. The perfect guide. Even though we had heavy heavy rain on the first day it was still fun! The homestay was the best night sleep I’ve had in a month travelling Vietnam. They gave me a hot shower, delicious dinner and comfortable, warm bed for the night which was so appreciated- the cute puppy was a bonus too! Followed by the best banana pancakes & coffee the following morning. Thank you all and hope to see you again soon 🙏❤️

        100% recommended. Giang is amazing.
Communication with Giang was great. I booked a 2d 1n trek. Giang replied quickly to help with transport from Hanoi inc a transfer from Lao Cai station, Unfortunately she was already booked up for day 1 of our trip. She joined us for day 2 which was noticeably improved due to her knowledge and obvious experience with travellers: We stayed at the home stay which was nice. We had our own room which isn’t something most other home stays offer. One thing to be aware of, when you arrive in SAPA, there are a lot of locals with baskets on their backs. They seem to pair up and follow every single tour group or person. Ours followed us for a few hours. It was obvious what the intention was, but once we stopped for lunch, they then tried to flog us stuff. Every group that arrived at this lunch stop off had a couple with them ready to pitch the gear. It did feel odd with having a private couple tour with a guide, then having a couple of random women’s following us for so long but others may not be fussed. Giang was great on day 2. As per our request, we arrived in SAPA early enough to have a look around the town. She stayed with us, showing us how the locals lived and shopped and remained with us til we got on our bus back to Hanoi, making sure there were no issues. She is so nice and super helpful. I couldn’t recommend her and sapa tribal trekking enough. And as they are the only real company 100% based on the tribal villages, please help support them.

A meaningful 2D1N trekking tour in Sa Pa
We had a really memorable tour with Giang. She is knowledgeable, friendly and considerate in many ways when guiding us through the villages. We’ve learned a lot about Sapa and she is very generous of sharing her own stories and village traditions. She has also been considerate in letting us choose the routes that suit our capabilities at different points of the tour. We also enjoyed the homestay with Mao, with her delicious home made dishes and lovely home which we spent a night. Both Giang and Mao had given us treasurable memories for our adventure in Sapa. Highly recommend to those who would like to trek in Sapa and get the most out of traveling.

Experience of a Lifetime Treking Through Sa Pa
We booked a one day trek with Giang on the very positive recommendation received from a friend who had also completed a trek with her. We had the most amazing experience, treking through the villages and learning all about the ethnic Hmong tribes and way of life. Giang was a wonderful, knowledgeable and kind guide, taking great care of us and ensuring we had a fantastic time. She had wonderful stories and was able to answer all our questions. She was very patient with us and our kids who had different levels of hiking ability. We enjoyed it so much we booked a second day out with her to explore the waterfalls and some more villages. If you are visiting Sa Pa be sure to book with this company - you won’t regret it!

The most amazing 2 days with my guide Toan! I learnt so much about life in Vietnam and not to mention the incredible scenery! Toan went out of his way to ensure I got the most out of my trek, and I certainly did. I would recommend this tour to everyone and anyone travelling to Vietnam!

        Amazing trek!! Highlight of Vietnam!
Sapa Tribal Trekking is the way to go! Giang was very helpful and responsive while we were planning. We had La La as our guide and she was absolutely amazing - great English, very knowledgeable, and super friendly. The trail was a little muddy in August, but worth it for the incredible views of the golden rice fields. Bring grippy shoes though!

Unforgettable experience made extra special by our guide Giang
My family (mum and grandma) and I did the 2D1N trek and consider it the highlight of our Vietnam trip. The scenery was beautiful and the guidance on cultural significance/history by our guide Giang really elevated the whole experience. We picked the “moderate” level hike and found it the perfect level of difficulty to feel a good workout, however some parts were quite difficult due to rain making the ground slippery - however my (very fit) 79 year old grandma managed both days really well so it’s certainly accessible to anyone with good mobility and balance. I would like to add a big big thank you to Giang for sharing with us many personal stories and brining a positive vibe throughout.

3 wonderful days with Giang, who entertained, informed and looked after us well despite the fog and rain. She was very communicative and we learned so much about the country and its people. We are fans of Vietnam, but even more of a fan of Giang. Thank you for the time we spent together.

Toan led us through an incredible 3D/2N trek through Sapa and its villages. Along the way, he was so happy to share so much interesting history and info about life in Vietnam. We had so much fun getting to know him and his flexibility and care for us along the way made our trek incredible. It is so eye opening to see the lives of the traditional villages up close, and we would not change a thing on our tour. The homestay allowed us to get to know such a different view of Vietnam. We saw so many animals and beautiful bamboo forests. This company sets up a great tour, with delicious food and drink spots along the way - HIGHLY recommend on your Vietnam itinerary. I found Toan and the company really cares about how your trek goes, and makes sure its tailored to your likes and that you walk away happy. Couldnt say more positive things definitely choose sapa tribal trekking!!!

Our 3 days trekking through Sapa with our guide Giang was an absolute delight. The trekking was hearty (Giang let's you choose how tough or easy you want it), the views breath-taking and the homestays a little slice of idyllic rural life. We highly recommend it to any travellers wanting to take a break from the busy cities and get to meet some of the people of Vietnam. You get fed VERY well: big portions at every mealtime, prepared for you by the locals (they easily accommodated our vegetarian needs). The homestays are very comfy with big rooms and hot showers. And Giang looks after you all the way, both helping you arrange your travel to get there, but also guiding you along the mountainside and informing you about the people and the nature as you go along. Do it. You won't regret it. Thank you Giang!

Giang shows you her breathtaking home and shares all her knowledge and personal story willingly in great English!
She is fun and good natured!
Also you support small Vietnamese homestays and she is self employed instead of employed by a European owned company.,
      The trek was beautiful!
I would go anywhere with her!!!

We had a wonderful 3 days exploring the farms, villages and homes outside Sa Pa. Giang was great company and had good rapport with my 12 year old daughter as well as me. She was happy to discuss everything from farming to local government to family relationships so I learned heaps and gained insight into the area. Giang was also very flexible- changing plans at short notice to suit our interests and energy.

A very nice trek, exotic and resourceful... despite an average weather (foggy and cool), compensated by the warmth of the welcome and the attention of our guide to adapt the program according to our wishes.
Many very informative exchanges with our guide on the customs of the different ethnic groups of the region etc...
So, one piece of advice: go ahead with your eyes closed and enjoy!

If you're a fan of eco tourism and stepping into the life of the black Hmong people of the sapa hills area, this is the trek for you.

Giang has grown her business herself from the ground up and is one of the kindest people I have met in Vietnam. Caring, informative and passionate about taking care of her local people.

She speaks fluent English which she learnt from interacting with tourists her whole life.

We spent our first night in her cousins house which was an experience I will never forget. We cooked and ate dinner together (amazing food). The second night we celebrated with locals by eating traditional food and drinking rice wine. Giang also came and sang kareoke with us! (Our idea but she was more than up for it!)

If you care about trekking with an ethical company and want your money going into the right hands with fare wages to guides (Unlike many other large trekking companies) then this is the tour for you.

10/10 Giang! We'll remember our experience forever.

We did the 2 day 1 night trek through sapa, staying the night in a homestay. Over the two days our guides included Giang and her husband. Both were extremely friendly and willing to answer all our questions. Their knowledge was outstanding whilst also making the trek fun. We spent the night at Giang’s cousins house. The family were extremely welcoming and the accomodation was above anything we expected. We would highly recommend sapa tribal trekking as they go above and beyond what one would expect.

3 days trekking through the rice paddies, bamboo Forrest and villages of Sapa was a truly magical experience! The guide Giang shared so much knowledge of the local people and places and helped us to navigate some tricky terrain without a single slip! She organized gumboots for us as we only had sneakers and some areas were very muddy so that was perfect (highly recommend if any recent rain)! The overnight home stays were very comfortable and the host families were so welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and plenty of it! Could not recommend this experience more!

We booked a 3 day trek with Sapa Tribal Trekking. Giang was unfortunately not available as we booked quite last minute, but the lovely Mi took us on an epic 18km trek up into the hills to see some truly spectacular views. We stopped for an amazing lunch at Chi's house and the rice terraces on the way back down were stunning and we hardly saw a soul as we had opted for the 'hard' route. We helped cook at our homestay in the evening and were spoiled with so much food! The next day was torrential rain so we went for the 'easy route', which still took us to some gorgeous waterfalls and beautiful scenery. We met Giang in the afternoon and she took us to her Aunt's house round the corner to our homestay. We got a real insight into how the locals live and Giang is super knowledgable and eager to tell you all about her culture and traditions, even if she is a little sceptical about some! We had a wonderful evening in Supan and the host at our homestay was an incredible chef - best food we had in Vietnam!! Giang then took us to do Batik on the last day as the weather was again RAIN and we had a really lovely day!! Could not recommend this experience or Giang enough, this was definitely a big highlights of our trip and I will definitely go back and do it all again if I have the opportunity!
