We did the Bai Tu Long Bay 3 day cruise as 2 couples in June 2024. We loved the room, which was beautifully presented and appointed. Food was exceptional, especially if you like sea food, but still great if that's not your thing. Mealtimes overall a rewarding experience. The trips off the boat, such as the beach bbq and kayaking were great. Although there were many trips going on we felt remote enough. Be aware there is some pollution so don't expect absolutely pristine water. The massage was enjoyable and good value and we enjoyed the early morning Tai chi. The one night 2 day trip which we shared with looked quite rushed. In reality you're only on the cruise for just over 24 hours. Stay longer and relax would be our advice.

Initially, the trip seemed perfectly normal, and we received decent assistance from the staff. Although we had a delay in resting because we had to change rooms due to a strong smoke smell in one of the cabins, it was resolved eventually. In the new room, we noticed some damage to the showerhead, but since it didn’t affect the water flow, we didn’t think much of it. Little did we know, this was just the beginning of a nightmare! The next day, after checking out and while waiting for the ship to dock, a staff member suddenly informed us that we needed to return to our room. Upon arrival, the ship manager sternly told us that we had damaged the showerhead and would need to pay $600 in damages. We explained that the damage was there before we used it, but the ship manager kept repeating that everything in the room was checked and found to be in good condition before we used it, so it must have been us who caused the damage. In reality, there were several issues in the room, including a safe whose door couldn’t be locked and a loose bathroom doorknob, among other things. When we pointed these out, the ship’s staff said they were unrelated to the current issue. Despite our refusal to pay the amount, the ship refused to let us leave. Since we had booked through a travel agent, the agent, concerned about our safety, negotiated with the ship on our behalf, and they agreed to let us leave if we paid $300. I have attached photos of the damage. If it weren’t for intentional destruction, would the equipment be damaged? According to the ship's policy, you are supposed to check everything during check-in. If anything is broken, regardless of the reason, you have to pay for it. This policy, however, was not communicated before boarding. It turns out that a cruise line claiming to be six-star operates under such rules. This was quite an eye-opener. While service quality can be subjective, a company’s attitude towards service can reveal a lot about what they can offer. I hope this information helps anyone considering this cruise.

My wife and two teenage children enjoyed 2nights aboard the Prince. We kayaked, explored caves, swam, visited a fishing village and had a bbq on the beach. It was wonderful. The crew are professional and very kind. The food was spectacular and the accommodation quite comfortable. We felt save and cared for the whole time. Our tour guide Tai was wonderful and ever present. We hope to return and will recommend to friends and family.

What a fantastic cruise along Halong bay. From start to finish it was seamless. The activities on board were excellent. All the meals we had were delicious. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. Our cabin was spacious with a large bed and balcony. Loved showering with a view from the bathroom window as the sun set

Everything was perfect from the start to the end of the trip. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. The kayaking and boat ride out to the caves was wonderful. The room and everywhere onboard was pristine. Halong Bay is simply beautiful and thankfully the water has been cleaned up, making the bay so mesmerising. A tick off my bucket list. Thank you Capella Cruise for making this trip even more memorable.

This is definitely a must do activity. Riooms are very nice and spacious. The crew are very accommodating. Alex was our cruise director and made sure everything and everyone was taken care of. Food was delicious along with the presentation Bring your swimsuit for the stop at To Top island. You will get the opportunity to try and catch squid at the end of the evening.

Wow! What an incredible experience. We had such a wonderful time aboard the Capella Cruise. The staff are so warm and friendly and there are plenty of things to see and do that I wish we had done a two night cruise. My partner and I got engaged and Tom and his staff were part of the experience which made it so special 🥰 Thank you again for an unforgettable trip and the birthday cake 🥹 we will definitely be back.

The reception and stay was excellent. The room was awesome with best facilities to remember. The food was awesome. We enjoyed the food and particularly the services and will remember the same in a long time. However the experience of being returned to the port and transported to the vehicle became so painful particularly for an elderly person like me that I would never forget it. Even though our host was trying to fix the things it seemed he had no control over things and he didn’t realise that shifting boats and landing at unauthorised location and then not finding right vehicle in terrible heat demonstrated lack of empathy

What a peaceful place!!!! I spent 2 nights with my family and enjoyed the scenery so much. The food was excellent. You can leave every stressful behind and just focus to enjoy the journey

The trip was one we all had wanted to do for a long time we flew in from Bali and our flew in from Thailand so just catching was great , fantastic staff and aftmosphere

We took the 1 night cruise last week .The experience was awesome and they took care of every small details.Ly, Tom and Gin gave great service with a smile.. The food spread was delightful

We had high expectations for our time on the Dragon Legend 2 - based on the reviews we had read and the price it cost... and the experience exceeded what we thought it would be. First of all, we were so well taken care of by "Mr. B" and his staff. The cleanliness and order of the boat and many courses of food were all done so well, and his young crew of waiters and attendants were super professional - until they let their personalities shine through, which was the genius of his management style. When prompted to by the patrons, they were engaging, kind and respectful. He really creates a good atmosphere on the ship. Also, they had to be flexible and capable, as they were when we "had a white-tablecloth BBQ in the rain" on a distant beach. It was fun and his staff actually held umbrellas over each of us through the entirety of the meal! Then, after we applauded the work all had done to pull it off, they seemed to be relieved and relaxed after their work was done. Everyone was soaked, but we were all having a great time! Mr. Smiley was our Tour Guide and he was funny, open, competent and wanted all of us to have a really good time while being safe and appreciating the beauty and natural surroundings of the phenomenal place we were in . He is a gem of a man, and would look at you in your eyes and be patient and explanatory and want you to have a wonderful experience. ------- We went during the "low season" in early June and found the boat to be not full, and the bay seemingly empty, so our experience was great. We specifically went with this company to go to Bai Tu Long Bay, and were happy with our decision. Also, we did the "2 nights" trip which allowed us to get really far out in the Bay... to our BBQ and swim, where we didn't see any other tour boats for the entire day - from morning until evening. The whole trip was amazing.

Great experience despite the rain. Staff were all accommodating and friendly. Loved every minute. We spent two day one night. This was a perfect amount of time for our family with young kids.
