What an amazing experience!!! We booked in advance the first class (front row) seats which were well worth it. We enjoyed this so much---the live music, the amazing puppets and learning more about Vietnamese folklore. I recommend renting the translator audio guide. I cannot comprehend how these puppet masters perform this without making more splashing and movement.... incredible!

Traditional water puppets for only one hour. The show was great, would have liked it go a bit longer with maybe a brochure about the stories being depicted. Large tour group in the audience left early which was disruptive and I think very unfair to the performers.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Service was on point throughout. Food was ok, not very “Vietnamese” as I think they were trying to cater to western tastes, but could be improved. Drinks on board are VERY expensive by Vietnamese standards. Nice boat and great sitting/lounging areas

Really an exciting and enjoyable cruise. Our family enjoyed moments of togetherness and hospitality. the crew served us very well. especially when our family got a surprise birthday party for my parents on the cruise. I had such an incredible stay on the Peony. The views from my corner room were surreal. The staff are exceptional. Bright (Tu) was amazing. He learned English in just a few months and was able to give me information about the squid fishing at night. Highly recommend!

Bobby was phenomenal. He shared his knowledge of the area and his country. Always attentive and helpful! Food was plentiful and very tasty. Rooms were clean comfortably quiet and relaxing. A must do for anyone visiting Vietnam. Extremely happy we booked with Peony!

Amazing views, beautiful cabins and a great staff. There's not a huge number of people so it wasn't very crowded. Great experience if you're looking for a relaxing experience with a few of your friends and family.

The Best Experience! If you’re visiting Vietnam with family, friends or even solo, Peony Cruise is an experience you shouldn’t miss. Extremely well-organised, friendly and helpful staff and an activity-filled 24hours. If you’re a foodie, this is a wonderful opportunity to widen your palette: they provide lunch, dinner, breakfast and brunch with a wide range of seafood and Vietnamese food adapted for a continental taste palette. Kayaking, swimming in the ocean and visiting the Trung Trung Cave are the activities that we had the pleasure of engaging in. However, the cruise also offers a cooking session in the evening and a Tai Chi class early in the morning. As you float through the Halong Bay, you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the blue-green ocean and the grand mountains surrounding it. The top deck offers a breathtaking view and has a pool where you can opt to relax if you prefer that to the ocean. The cherry on top is the crew that is extremely hospitable, helpful and friendly especially Mr. Ken, who was the tour guide for our trip to the cave and with whom we had the pleasure of having a conversation about Vietnamese culture and tradition. So if you’re looking for a cruise experience in Halong Bay (and you 100% should), I would most definitely recommend the Peony Cruise.
