- bufordra00Beautiful tour! The incense stick making process was as beautiful as I had imagined! Hung was an excellent tour guide - very knowledgeable and had a good rapport with the people living in the village. I would want to do another tour with this company!
- Cindy K00An amazing photographic experience!Called Mike two days ago to book this tour as a last-minute opening in my schedule. He was extremely accommodating, and I’m thrilled that he sent Hung Nguyen Duy to give us such a professional guided tour. He was extremely knowledgeable, warm, superb translator, and a creative photographer, my friend, and I had an amazing day and I’m so glad we did not miss this. I highly recommend this company and my guide. Cindy Athens Georgia USA
- Giorgia R00Amazing photography tour and travel experience. We found Momentlives by chance during our time in Hanoi, and we could not have been more lucky! The tour was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. We got the chance to take awesome shots and learn some photography tips from Mike. We even won a photography award back home with one of the photos we took during the trip! But even if you are not into photography, the tour is definitely worth it. You'll have the chance to visit a picturesque and traditional village and receive the smiles of the lovely inhabitants, which you'll hardly forget. Last but not least, Mike is an awesome guide and photographer. He went above and beyond and transformed a photography tour into a not-to-be-missed learning and life experience. Thanks again Mike!
- Z4479OXvaleriar00Mike- our heroWe had the pleasure of meeting Mike for a private photography tour to visit the incense stick making village, the bodhi leaves drying process and the fish trap making village with all adventures that can with it including Ninh Binh area and Mia Caves. It was an exceptional trip and Mike is not only a great photographer but a great person and friend too. It was nice to have chats with him about local life and learning something new. Of our trip to Vietnam this past month this has been truly our favorite part and so well organized too.
- Z4479OXvaleriar00Not only about the Fish Traps but the people 🧡As soon as you step in the backyard there is something absolutely magical. Then you get to meet the locals who welcome you as they work through an unbelievable amount of traps. Not only is it a photographer delight but the smiles on these sweet souls, please take your time to make it all sink in- appreciate the artists and how they talk to each other, how the joke to one another. We did a two day tour with Mike and this was definitely our favorite spot to shoot and to feel a small part of local and authentic Vietnam, which saddens me to think that will be gone once this elderly population is gone. For any current or future tourists this should be on your to do/ to see list. My mom was so protective of the fish trap she bought there I think she almost wanted a separate seat for it on the plane.
- Marina S00Fantastic tourWe had and amazing custom tour with Momentlives visiting three craft villages near Hanoi - incense sticks, soy sauce and fish traps villages. Hung was our guide as Mike was away on another tour. We started our day at 5:30AM and returned to Hanoi about 12 hours later - fantastic day full of great photo opportunities and authentic experiences. We took so many great photos, and along the way we meat local people, visited their houses and listened to their stories. In Hung Yen fish traps village we went to a local house where 80+ years old elderly workers were making fish traps from bamboo. The front yard is beautifully decorated with all kinds of fish traps which looks stunning on photos, and we could also go to the house and balcony for different viewpoints. Locals are very welcoming and funny, they were laughing at our sometimes stupid questions ;) We highly recommend any tour with Momentlives and Fish traps village tour in particular. We will definitely book more tours with Momentlives when we are in Vietnam next time.
- surayayatis00ExcellentHung our tour guide was awesome. He bring us close to the villagers around and interact with them. The villagers are super friendly and welcoming. Incense village experience was amazing
- JulieLov00Exceeded expectations! We did the colours of incense village and the fishing trap makers in one day, and then a 5 day photo tour with Son. (Mike) The first two were outstanding for photography, as was the tour. I took more images with Son than ever before. Every aspect of the trip was handled efficiently, with humour, and with a smile, and Son 'makes it happen' with regard to chatting to the local people to get the best photos possible. If you're interested in photography and want to come away with amazing images I highly recommend going with Son.
- Culture75483200Amazing locations ! Excellent guided tours and a 'must experience 'before the chance is gone foreverI only had a short stay in Vietnam , as a solo traveller its often difficult to book guided tours if at least two people do not book- Mike was very flexible and the tours were still available for one person, with no surcharge when two tours are booked. This worked perfectly for me, I ended up doing two half day tours with no surcharge for a solo traveller. Both tours were amazing! I learned some game changing photography skills alongside the history and local customs of the places I visited ( Tho Ha - The rice paper making village and Hung Yen - The vanishing craft of making fish traps) Both places were unique and beautiful with warm and welcoming locals. These tour locations are a' must experience' - before long the traditional fish trap making skills will no longer exist . Mike was an excellent guide, everything was well planned and both trips went smoothly, the pace was just right, not too slow but not rushed, I managed to take an abundance of photographs and with Mikes valuable tuition, they are the best photographs I have ever taken despite my amateur skills and using my basic digital camera. The tour is suitable for amatuers like myself and the locations would be amazing for professional photographers. I will definitely book more tours with Momentlives when I return to Vietnam, I would like to do a longer trip next time as well as more of the day tours. The tours were the highlight of my visit to Hanoi.
- Relax57784700Perfect dayOne of the best photographic days in my entire life. I think that phrase explains what lived with Mike. He knows perfectly the best places to photograph and is always aware that you can get the best photos, helping with compositions, parameters and communicating to people the best poses for the best results. On top of that, Mike is one of the best people I have met on my trip to Vietnam, enjoying his company and allowing me to get to know the life of the local people. In short, the tour is worth every penny you pay.
- TheaM29500Best tour in Vietnam! The trip I made with Mike was by far the highlight of my entire travel experience here in Vietnam. I had a truly authentic experience, he always made sure we have everything we need for photography as well as travelers. The food was great, he even arranged a vegetarian meal for me, he gave us the chance to get to know local people, village life, interact with them. He is the best guide one could hope for, kind, friendly, fair, we laughed a lot, knows the lay of the land, knows so many people! I am so grateful to have chosen this! Highly highly recommend!!
- SimpsOnTheGo00BEST TOUR IN VIETNAM!!No joke, you won't find a more authentic tour in Vietnam. Whether you are into photography or not, this is so awesome nonetheless. Mike is an amazing photographer and will help/show you everything you need to do to walk away with the best photo possible. He also knows everyone in the village so we were able to see different ways of making incense and the different jobs people would do in the incense making process. We had the entire village to ourselves(as far as tourists) and we felt so lucky to be there. Mike's english is incredible and is full of Vietnam information so there is no question he can't answer for you, about the incense tour or about somewhere else in Vietnam. He also does photography tours throughout Vietnam, so if that is something you are interested in, definitely ask him about it! He takes you to all the photogenic places in Vietnam, and there are a lot!
- travessiaexpedicoes00The best experience ever!!!!Mike is an extremely professional. He gave us all the necessary support for the tour to go well! He is extremely kind to people. This tour is amazing for anyone who wants to get to know a less touristic Vietnam!
- Nanamihase00Amazing tour!Absolutely an amazing experience! Mike was an awesome tour guide. We had plenty of time shooting all the pictures we wanted. He was friends with literally everyone in the village, so he showed us around the village and we were able to learn and see their everyday life, which was so fun! He also kindly took portrait pictures of us with his really good camera and sent us all the pictures the next day! He even edited some of the pictures for us. I have nothing to say! This was one of the best tours I joined and it was so worth it. Thanks Mike for a great memory!
- addisonj78700The bestI have worked with a lot of photographers (I anm an professional) and Momentlives was hands down the best. His photography eye is not only amazing- the knowledge and wisdom he teaches to others is unmatched. The experience was amazing and he made sure I got every shot I was looking to get. I couldn’t recommend more!!!

This was an excellent review by Mike at Momentlives. We started early in the day (4:00 am) and went to the market, which was great, but the real treat was the trip to Tho Ha village. Mike was able to get us into about five houses where they were making rice paper and those were good, but . . Mike felt he could do better and we wandered and photographed people while Mike listened (yes he listened for the rice making machines) and found one that was just perfect. Mike is the kind of tour leader that will go into the house, strike up a conversation and get us photographing in a natural non tour situation. He is an excellent tour leader.

I am a Portuguese photographer who works in the field of travel photography, culture. It is important for me to be able to visit places that are still preserved with preserved cultures and to be able to count on the ground with the support of someone who is knowledgeable of the cultures and enables me to succeed in my work.
I found Momentlives - Vietnam Photo Tours as a partner to help me meet my photographic goals in Vietnam. Whether in the village of Tho Ha or in other northern regions I had the support I needed by communicating with the people from each of the villages I visited and allowing me to understand the spirit of each place and to understand the activities, traditions, food traditional of each places.
It was a fascinating experience that I recommend and I am sure that Momentlives will be the key to the success of your trip.
