About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- JaneM2940 contributionsFirst class travel companyWe booked 2 back to back tours, the Fantastic Vietnam and Phi Quoc 20 day (4* upgrade), and the premium tour Siem Reap stopover 4 day. The company could not have been better. We were met everywhere -train station / airports - by a private car and transferred to the hotels. We went on 3 larger group tours with other europeans, which was great, but the vast majority of tours were with private guides for just the two of us. The guides were all excellent. The person overseeing all the arrangements was always on hand by WhatsApp. The tours were excellent and covered all of the important sites in Vietnam and Ankor Wat, some places such as Hue and Hoi An were enchanting. The hotels were really nice and some quite luxurious. Bakhan village resort was stunning. On the negative front - I hadn't expected the train to be quite so basic, and it is worth ensuring a private cabin. Take a sleeping mat and try not to use the loo! Some spots were very touristy (such as the Mekong Delta) but overall it was a great experience. For anyone who usually uses a really upmarket tour operator, I don't think you could better the experience, (avoiding the train of course) and it is way cheaper. The company are amazingly flexible, by having different guides in each city and occasionally booking you onto a group tours. I would highly recommend them.Written December 1, 2024
- Susiekg0 contributionsSplendors of Vietnam Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh 15 day tourFrom the moment we arrived in Hanoi we were looked after. The driver was waiting for us when the plane arrived. We met Danny at our Hotel on arrival, he talked us through the tour and also made sure we had his phone number to contact him just in case anything went wrong. Everything went to plan, if we were told we were being picked up at a certain time, they were always there before the allocated collection time. The tour guides were always very knowledgeable about the places we went to and were willing to answer any additional questions we had. Their English was also good. We stayed in 3 star accommodation, the hotels were always of a good standard and clean, also located in good areas with some good restaurants in the area. The tour at times could be tiring, but the amount of locations and sights that we saw in our 15 days was amazing. This trip will leave us with lasting good memories of Vietnam. If I was to travel to any region that Legend Travel Group do tours in I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.Written November 26, 2024
- Venture4483930 contributionsFantastic!!!We really enjoyed this trip. There were interesting, educational and entertaining activities every day. The service was excellent and the cruise manager, AK, was a very good organzer. We had local guides in every city who were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We never waited for our luggage or room keys. The planning was flawless. The dining was good with lots of choices. The fruit and the breakfasts were particulary good. There were good choices for every meal including western and local cuisine. The trip to Ha Long Bay was wonderful and the land packages and hotels in Seam Reap, Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi were top notch. We can highly recommend this cruise. It would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues to do all the activities. Anyone planning on doing this trip should be extremely careful when applying for a Vietnam visa as you need a multiple entry visa as some passengers discovered when we returned to Vietnam after visiting Cambodia.Written November 12, 2024
- Croatiantraveller190 contributionsHighly recommend Legend Travel groupKudos to Mr. Danny and the Legend Travel Group for their well-managed Vietnam and Cambodia historical tour. From start to finish we felt that Mr. Danny, his drivers and guides provided us with strong personal support, interesting experiences and luxury accommodations in both Vietnam and Cambodia that enhanced our understanding of the history and culture of both countries. We were initially met at Hanoi airport by a Legend driver and taken to our hotel where we met Mr. Danny who explained our itinerary in more detail and provided us with his What’s App number in the event of an emergency. We then met our first guide who facilitated a visit to the Ho Chi Minh complex, One Pillar Pagoda, Vietnam Ethnology Museum, Temple of Literature and the Hoa Lo Prison (otherwise known as the "Hanoi Hilton”). The following day we were driven to Halong Bay for an overnight cruise. During our onboard stay the crew provided many optional activities including a cooking class, Tai Chi demonstration, spa services, as well as an opportunity to visit Titov Island and Sung Sot cave. The food and services provided by the crew were exceptional. Following the cruise, under the guidance of Mr. Tho, we visited Hoi An, an ancient town known for its beautiful lanterns, tailor-made clothing, and handcrafted souvenirs. We then travelled to My Son, an UNESCO World Heritage site located 50 km southwest of Hoi An and one of Southeast Asia's greatest archaeological sites. The following day a Legend driver picked us up and drove us to Hue City, the ancient imperial capitol where we visited the Thien Mu Pagoda, the mausoleums of Emperor Khai Dinh and Tu Duc and the Imperial Citadel of the Nguyen Dynasty, another UNESCO World Heritage site. We then flew to Ho Chi Minh City and in subsequent days with different guides toured the city, the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta. Following that experience we flew to Siem Reap in Cambodia and under the guidance of Mr. Raty toured the Angkor Complex. The ruins were magnificent and the lunch provided upon our arrival showcased delicious, local cuisine. Walking in the larger cities in Vietnam is problematic due to the local disregard for traffic signals, therefore I particularly enjoyed Hoi An’s night market, Hue and Siem Reap’s Pub street as each city had areas designated for pedestrians only. While all the guides during our 12 day tour were very good, Mr. Tho (Vietnam) and Mr. Raty (Cambodia) were exceptional for their local, cultural and historical knowledge as well as the care that they provided to each individual in our group. As a result of our experience , I highly recommend Legend Travel group.Written November 12, 2024
- SimonBunn0 contributions12 day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia was just perfectThere are a lot of options available when looking for a tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. I was looking for a reasonably small group (less than 12) and a good itinerary. I also then checked with reviews and trip advisor before selecting the Legend 12 day Vietnam and Cambodia tour. What a great choice! From the moment I booked I couldn't be happier with the level of contact and feedback from the group and Legend. They promptly answered any questions and guided me through the visa processes for the two countries. On arrival in Hanoi we were met by the first of our excellent guides and drivers. We had booked the 4 star hotel package and each hotel on the trip was excellent. Arrival day was a transfer to the hotel and a chance to meet Danny, our trip manager. He had an updated tour package pre-printed for us with all the details and his WhatsApp number so we could ask any questions during our trip. Danny never failed to respond on WhatsApp promptly and always provided excellent service. Hanoi is an interesting start into Vietnam. The streets of the old quarter are small, packed with people and traffic. The footpaths seem strictly reserved for motorbike parking so you end up walking on the road which is.... interesting. The tour of pagodas and temples was topped off with a visit to the Tomb of Ho Chi MInh himself, perfectly embalmed. There was plenty of free time after 4pm to walk the streets and find good restaurants. Our tour group comprised a tight 3 who completed the full12 day tour, 2 more who did all of Vietnam and 3 or 4 who aligned in various locations so no more than 8 in total at any time. We formed good friendships and appreciated the smaller tour vans and more personalized service we got. You get a more personal experience with the guide and more opportunity to interact. I was actually very impressed how well Legend organizes the many tours it runs to overlap, mix and mingle, and then go their separate ways along the whole of the 12 days. The trip from Hanoi to Halong Bay covers rice paddy field land and some interesting countryside. The damage from the recent typhoon evident everywhere with almost all trees extensively damaged and missing roofs on industrial buildings. Our boat was changed as there was a lot of damaged and sunken boats in Halong Bay marina. I counted 10 sunken boats just in our area. The new boat was excellent, really nice cabins and a great crew. The weather was not so good but did not deter our enjoyment. A real highlight is a visit to the caves, I was not expecting this and even if I had been told about them, they still would exceed expectations. Next a return van to Hanoi to pick up our bags and off to the airport for the flight to Hoi An. Both my wife and I really enjoyed Hoi An. It has a slower, quieter (and much cleaner) feel to it than Hanoi and our hotel (Lantana Riverside) was the best hotel we stayed in, with great staff, and excellent pool and a restaurant next to the river we ate at three times. A market tour the next day was fascinating and we liked the fact you could safely walk on footpaths. You see some interesting older buildings and have time for coffee and relaxing. Gave a good idea on what to visit in our free time. The tour to My Son outside Hoi An to 10th century temples was excellent, again something I was not expecting. The next day was almost an entire free day which we really appreciated. We visited the beach and enjoyed iced coffee and a swim. Nice to recharge before Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC). HCMC is even busier than Hanoi but we spent most of our days out of it. The Cu Chi tunnels are interesting as is the chance to fire an AK46 or M16 machine gun. The Mekong Delta boat trip was OK. It showed us how industrious the locals are in finding ways to make some money through their own hard work and limited resources, and everyone was so nice you didn't feel the pressure or hustle you get in places like Egypt. The side visit to the temple with 4 separate Buddhas was really good. Then off to Siem Reap in Cambodia for the main highlight, Angkor Wat. We had an early morning pickup (5am) from HCMC and arrived into the nearly deserted Siem Reap airport in Cambodia at 9am. Too early to check into a hotel so off to Banteay Srei, probably the most lavishly detailed of the many temples we were about to see. the carving into sandstone is unbelievable, and the fact it has lasted 1000 years just adds to the experience. The airport is new and 1 hour from Siem Reap which doesn't make any sense as you drive along endless empty flat land to get there. Making the trip to Bateay Srei makes the trip back to the hotel more enjoyable. We stopped for lunch but were served western food with no option for Cambodian food, which was a surprise. The next day was a visit to 6 temples starting with Angkor Wat itself. Having been right through Egypt, and Petra in Jordan amongst many other amazing historical sites I wasn't expecting to be blown away as much as I was. This really is one of the bucket list places to visit. Stunning!. It actually reinforced how little I knew about Asian culture and history. Angkor Wat was the largest city on earth in the 10th century with 1.1M people. There are just so many amazing temples, but be prepared for climbing some steep steps if you want to visit the upper parts. The final temple of the day was the 'Tomb Raider' site Ta Prohm Temple. It really shows you what condition the temples had fallen into before the massive reconstructions carried out by the French, German and mainly Indian Governments. I really couldn't fault Legen anywhere, a great trip, great guides, faultless planning and excellent hotels. Don't hesitate to book with them. Special shout out to Danny who couldn't have been more helpful.Written October 10, 2024

- lanceg8390 contributionsIncredible Trip and Unbelievable Customer ServiceOur tour was the "Endless Beauty of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand - 19 Days." I normally take a more active role in the planning and execution of our trips. This was the first time I gave up control and let a tour company take care of everything. As a result, Legend Travel has changed the way we intend to travel in the future. The tour was exceptionally well organized and executed flawlessly. I can only imagine the logistical effort necessary to accomplish this feat, consistently, over three weeks, 3 different countries and 5 different airline flights. Communication was fantastic, prior to departure and in-country(s). This tour was a great way to see the highlights of three southeast Asian countries to decide where to return. The schedule was rigorous, but relaxed at the same time. There were only two days that we felt the group size was too large. Otherwise, we were normally a group of five to seven people. Half of the three weeks it was only us three in the group. I was apprehensive about paying such a large amount of money, up front, to a foreign company. However, I quickly discovered any concern was completely unwarranted. Legend Travel is reputable and definitely puts customer service first. The guides and drivers are phenomenal. Each area had a local guide and driver who were able to offer their personal insights and perspectives. They all shared local traditions and seemed genuinely interested in introducing us to their different cultures. In one instance, several hours after leaving us for the day, our guide noticed us on the street, left his group of friends in a restaurant to come out and say hello again. We knew one person in Bangkok. What are the odds we'd run into him on the street or he would have even cared enough to come say hello again after his obligation to us was complete? This is just one example of the personal interest our guides took in making our experience memorable. This review doesn't begin to do Legend Travel Group justice. My wife and I are already planning our return.Written June 28, 2024
- johntaveni0 contributionsGreat trip!!!I had a great trip! I had asked them to set up a trip for me - 5 days in Ho Chi Minh and 4 days in Hanoi. The purpose of my trip was to go to Son Doong Cave, so this was just “extra”. Everything perfect!!! I had not looked at my itinerary, so every day was a surprise. They treated me well. Very organized. I recommend!!!!Written April 27, 2024

- W6117YGalexb0 contributionsAmazing Vietnam and Cambodia tourMy wife and I just finished an amazing 12 day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia, organized by Legend Travel. The tour was first rate, hitting all the highlights in both countries. Each city had a guide specializing in that city and often UNESCO heritage site so very helpful. The tour exceeded our expectations. The hotels were all first rate as were the recommended restaurants. Everything went like clock work and as advertised. Special note of thanks to the "quarterback" Danny Nguyen, who coordinated all travel and tour arrangements. He was always online, always responsive. A true rock star.Written April 4, 2024
- zouklas0 contributionsMR DANNY THANK YOU / 10 day South to North of Vietnam10 Days in Vietnam: A Journey Through History and Culture. As I was a Solo traveller Mr Danny organised a 10 day tour of Vietnam which I loved From start to finish. Communication was excellent, and reassuring if there was any issues Mr Danny was easy to contact. I was met at every destination I visited with different drivers and Tour Guides and every one of them was professional friendly. I really enjoyed every moment of my 10 days in Vietnam learning the culture and the History, especially the food and the mini cruise wow, a beautiful place Vietnam. Towards the end of the 10 day tour I stayed on Vietnam to explore more, then 2 days Later Mr Danny contacted me to find out when I’m leaving Vietnam so he could arrange airport pick for me, which I was not expecting. A true gentleman, everything went smoothly my airport pick up arrived on time and I spoke to Mr Danny and he thanked me for visiting Vietnam and I also thanked him. - GordonR460 contributionsLegend Travel Group superbly organized our Trip to Cambodia & VietnamThis 14 day trip through Cambodia and Vietnam was superbly organized by Legend Travel Group . The trip took us through Cambodia with stops in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh , and then through the Mekong Delta to Saigon , Hoi An , Hanoi , Halong Bay in Vietnam. The organization of the tour was superb and there were no problems as we moved along the route , meeting up with different tour guides at the various destinations . All the taxi and shuttle bus arrangements were on time which was a big plus . The standard hotel for this tour is a 3 star , but we upgraded to 4 star hotels , and we were not disappointed . The hotel in Phnom Penh had the most fantastic top floor deck with a bar , wine bar , swimming pool , and a really nice dinner menu . We ate there both nights , and there was a Happy Hour for drinks. Mr Danny who organizes all the Legends tours was very helpful throughout , and was quick to respond to WhatsApp queries . He also went out of his way to personally retrieve my camera bag that I had mistakenly left on a shuttle bus for which I will be eternally grateful.Written March 4, 2024
- catherinemP3060OY0 contributionsReview of 10 Day Trip - Saigon to HanoiI booked a 10 day trip from Saigon to Hanoi with Legend Travel Group through TourRadar. The tour organiser Danny was very thorough and always available for any question we had - it really took all the stress out of travelling so we could just enjoy our trip!! Danny was even able to help us organise a trip to Ba Na Hills which wasn’t even included in our tour. The quality of the hotels we stayed at was wonderful and all activities were amazing! In Saigon, tour guide Tin Tin was a wealth of knowledge and was easy to get along with. I highly recommend Legend Travel Group for your next adventure.Written February 6, 2024
- H5245UXmonicac0 contributionsExcellent super organized local tour companyWe just came back from a fabulous 21 day tour of Cambodia and Vietnam with Legend Travel. Everything was extremely well organized. We would have never explored so many places and had such a variety of different experiences if we would have done this trip our own. The guides and drivers were all always punctual, ready to greet us before we arrived. Furthermore, to our surprise, although we had booked a group tour, our tour was mostly private, with a driver and guide in a private car just for ourselves. When choosing and booking the tour, the communication via email with Tony was excellent and he was very accommodating to our requests, And in Hanoi, we met Danny, who coordinates everybody”s trip. He is an amazing, kind, extremely hard working person that truly cares about your trip being enjoyable and running smoothly. We highly recommend Legend Travel.Written February 5, 2024

This was a unique experience that took my back in time. The village was tucked in off the main road, I missed the road a number of times before I found it. Once I got into village, I stopped at the center where I sat down and had a few glasses of ice tea, perfect after a hot ride on the motor scooter. The lady that was running the ice tea stand took me around to see all the sites of the village and her daughters watched my motor scooter. One of the best places I went was this temple where they were making Sake, excellent.
