      Beautiful Scenery
Arrived at lunch enjoyed a complimentary drink and a nice lunch, then we took a smaller boat to the kayak pontoon and enjoyed kayaking and swimming , explored a small cave. Cocktails and dinner were served on the top deck. The cabin we had was spacious and also had a spa bath. In the morning we had breakfast then again ventured out on the smaller boat to explore the caves on an island. Before departing we had a light lunch before farewelling the crew and our guide Duc, thoroughly recommend, worth the drive from Hanoi to experience.

      This tour is a must!
Such an amazing day we had! Our guide, Tony, was so knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and should be given an award for ‘Best Guide’, or at least a pay rise! Seriously, nothing was too much trouble and he made sure we had the best day. Our driver was also excellent. I felt quite safe in that insane traffic! The sampan cruise at Tam Coc was so interesting, with photo opportunities galore. If it’s hot and sunny a sun umbrella is a must and also a cushion or some kind of padding for comfort. A hard seat gets really hard after an hour or so!! The Temples were intriguing and our lunch was incredible! Absolutely delicious. Oh, and we rode on a bullock cart through a delightful rural village and through the rice paddies. This was a great tour, and I highly recommend it.

      Beautiful scenery. Poor boat
The scenery is breathtaking. The service on board is mediocre and the boat is crap. It is a new boat....but it is still very uncomfortable. We paid 100 usd per person and didn’t get water for this price. You had to pay extra for any kind of drink. We were picked up in a beautiful van for a 2 hour drive each way to and from port. The driver was very rude and didn’t speak English. When we disembarked it was pouring rain and the driver didn’t bother with an umbrella or something to cover us from the rain. We had our 2 hour ride back to the hotel completely soaked. This is what I call “extremely bad service”. I don’t think the tour is worthwhile.

Disappointed as did not visit Ho Chi Minh mausoleum
The main reason for choosing to do a Hanoi tour was being able to visit the main attractions with all entrance tickets and fees organised to avoid wasting time queuing at each place. I had heard the queue at Ho Chi Minh mausoleum gets very long due to its limited opening hours and read many suggestions to visit it with a tour to avoid having to queue. So I booked this tour with the assumption all the entrance tickets would be pre organised since it was a half day tour with a number of places to visit. Surely, most of the time on the tour would be spent actually visiting the sites. My assumption was wrong. The day started out great. Our guide picked us up on time and informed my friend and I of the itinerary for the day. We will visit the mausoleum, Temple of Literature and finally Hoam Kiem lake and the temple of the Restored Sword. We were informed that the mausoleum will be quite busy as it is a Sunday. We arrived in the car to see the line snaking over 2 blocks and that it was probably a 2 hour wait. As we were driving, I could see the driver and guide looking for the end of the line and realised that we may not have tickets. The guide then suggested we go to the Temple of Literature first and we return to the mausoleum afterwards. We asked if we would be able to get in later and the impression given was that the queue will dissipate by the time we return. That assumption was so wrong. After the temple of Literature, where the guide bought our entrance tickets when we were there, we returned to the mausoleum to see that the queue wasn’t any shorter and if anything, it seemed even longer. Knowing now, that we would have to wait in the queue for potentially 2 hours, which would be the remaining time of the tour itself(!), we made the decision to disappointingly skip the mausoleum. The guide took us to the Museum of Ethnology instead and finished with the Hoam Kiem lake and temple as per the itinerary. Overall the tour was fine for the sites visited, the guide was good and accommodating. The Museum of Ethnology was actually quite interesting and a place I probably wouldn’t have thought to visit during my stay in Hanoi. HOWEVER, the main attraction of this tour is the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. This is what I am paying the tour price for. Yes, it was my decision to choose not to queue and skip it but there definitely should not be the expectation of the tour participant to pay for the tour and spend most of it in a queue to purchase a ticket. If that is the case, then that should be clearly communicated and written in the tour details. Otherwise, what was the point of the tour? I would have been better off just visiting these sites on my own. For those considering this tour, just be sure to ask the questions first before booking. It was my first time booking a tour via TripAdvisor ( Viator) but after this experience, I will definitely think twice. Proceed with caution.

One of the best time to travel Sapa
Sapa every season seems attractive to me, we came to Sapa in May and we felt that it is really one of the best time to visit sapa (from March to May), fields bring a speacial great nature beauty, water glittering on terraced fields. we take a photo at Sapa in 4/5/2016.
