Overview
Halong Bay is one of Vietnam’s most famous natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tour takes in the highlights on a day trip from Hanoi and is ideal for those short on time. Travel through the Red River Delta, cruise around Thien Cung Cave and Dau Go Cave on a traditional junk boat, enjoy a kayaking or bamboo boat excursion, and dine on a seafood lunch on board.
What to Expect
After an early-morning pickup from your Hanoi hotel, admire the Red River Delta scenery on the approximately 4-hour drive to Halong Bay.

Then, board your boat—a traditional wooden junk—in Halong Bay. Keep your camera on hand as you set sail across the bay for endless photo opportunities.

Listen as your guide points out notable landmarks, all with unique names, such as Fighting Cocks Island, Finger Island, Duck Island, and Incense Burner Island, and glide through Thien Cung Cave (Heavenly Palace Grotto), filled with majestic stalactites and stalagmites.

Transfer to a small bamboo boat or sea kayak to get a closer look at the caves and islands, and enjoy about 45 minutes of paddling around one of the bay’s most scenic spots. Then, sail back to the wharf, where your driver will be ready to take you back to Hanoi.

Your tour ends with drop-off at your Hanoi hotel.

Unique seascape

Unique experience. The small boat trip to the caves was good fun. Be prepared for a 4 hour coach trip from and back to Hanoi but worth the journey.

Awesome seascape

We added a day trip to Haloing Bay once in Hanoi and were very glad we did notwithstanding that the travel to/from the bay area is roughly 3-4 hours each way. We had a boat to ourselves and had a full and tasty meal while...More

Great if you are short on time

A great way to see the bay if you don’t have the time to do an overnight cruise. The bus was comfortable, the lunch on the boat was tasty and catered to vegetarians, the guide was friendly. We got to choose between a kayak and...More

A gorgeous bay with magnificent rock formations but a long day on the bus

Halong bay is a Unesco World Heritage site, generally considered a must-see when visiting Hanoi. It can be done in a very long day trip, 4 hour bus ride each way and 4 hours on the bay. It is extraordinarily beautiful and you will have...More

you would need to contact a tour company, there are many listed, and find a location convenient to your ship. Usually they pick up from hotels in Hanoi. If you will be at the bay already I dont know where you would meet... More
