I was meant to do a private tour with a friend, but she was unwell so I ended up doing the tour by myself. Dan ended up giving me a great tour using his motorbike since there was only one of me.

Arranging the tour from NZ was super easy to do with Lisa from Footprint Travel. Everything went to plan. Great service and good communication made life easy. Our guide for our 3 day tour was Happiness. His calm nature and willingness to assist were great qualities. Nothing was a problem. He had very good knowledge of the Mekong Delta. We saw things and went places you simply could not access as a tourist. The home stay accommodation was first rate and gave a genuine and authentic insight into how these Vietnamese people live. A real privilege. Highly recommended experience!

We used Footprint Travel to plan our trip from the South to North of Vietnam staying in Saigon, Hoi An and Hanoi. They did an amazing job planning out a tour that included a mix of culture, food, relaxation! The local tour guides they partner with in each city are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. The hotels they chose were of excellent quality. We loved that many of the tours emphasized meeting with local people and learning about their culture and traditions. Throughout the entire tour they were in constant contact with us, ensuring that our tour experience was excellent and transfers between cities and tours was seamless.

Our tour begin in Tam Coc and went to the Mua Cave and Trang A landscape. It was an amazing tour with a remarkable guide (Chung) . With an impressive knowledge of the vietnam culture. Thank you, Chung, for your kindness and availability of our needs!

Thanks to the Footprint team (including our amazing guide Khoi) we had a hassle free, great family holiday (includes 2 teenagers). We loved the motorbike tour of Hanoi, grabbing bargains in the night markets of Hanoi, hiking in the beautiful and remote Pu Luong and kayaking at Ha Long Bay. All our transfers were on time, our accommodation was great and we learnt lots from our guide Khoi. Would highly recommend.

A friend in the travel industry in England put us in touch with Footprints and they devised a bespoke 3 week tour of Vietnam for my family, recommending and then booking activities, tours, hotels, and internal flights. They were always willing to offer advice and responded to all my questions and changes of mind! Communication was outstanding, emails were always responded to promptly. We have now returned from this trip which included Ho Chi Min, Mekong delta, Hoi An, Hanoi, Halong Bay and Puluong and it was absolutely fantastic! Our contact in Vietnam kept us up to date with times drivers would collect us etc and was available to assist with any questions. Every driver and guide we had was reliable and friendly. All of the tours (street food, Vespa tour, cooking in Ho Chi Min, a cruise on Halong & Bai Tu bay , trekking in Puluong) Footprints had arranged for us were brilliant. I cannot recommend them highly enough – they really helped us have the trip of a lifetime and do things and go to places that we might not have done otherwise.

Footprint just wants to rob your money. We did the early morning Hanoi tour. They charge 65 USD per person and the tour definitely doesn’t worth that amount. It’s a tour that you can actually do it by yourself, just check on the travel blogs about the early morning tour and ask help from the hotel to arrange a taxi and go for it. To visit the wholesale flower market and the whole sale fruits and vegetables market at 5am is very safe. Both places are busting of commercial activities at that time, with police patrolling the areas, so there is no risk or danger at all. You don’t need such an expensive tour for this. Also, there is nothing really historical or cultural about this tour. After the visit of both markets you will have a stroll around the old quarter to see what you gonna see by yourself anyway. So. In conclusion, this tour lack of content to cost that much. In Vietnam that’s lots of money. You can even do a whole day Ha Long Bay for that price. Very bad footprint on trying to rob the tourist this way. The tour guide was really nice and tried to do her best, but she even admitted that she thinks this tour is too expensive for the content it has.

Minh arranged a 16 day tour of Vietnam for my 21 year old son and myself. Included Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An, HCMC, homestays in remote villages. Very authentic experiences away from the tourists (except for larger city tours where it can’t be avoided). 100% satisfaction and recommend without reservation. New guide for each area and all were professional, spoke English well, and were charming. We are well traveled. Hanoi was favorite city and homestays in villages (some not available by car) were amazing. Families were great and food authentic, safe and delicious.

I did two activities (Ha Long Bay Day trip, Bai Dinh - Trang Day trip) for my friends from Japan. They could answer carefully our many questions and we requested non-regular options of them, but they could arrange for us flexibly. Thank you!

Wow, what can I say??! This was a phenomenal experience! I found Footprint through a Vietnamese tea shop that suggested looking into the tour company for a tour to a tea farm. From the very start of the process, everything went smoothly. Customer service during the planning phase was top notch, very kind and attentive. The website offers a lot of good and valuable information in general outside of the tour package info, so check that out too. The tour itself with Mr. Dan was a blast. He knows everything you would want to know about basically anything. I loved that the tour not only shows you the farm and the facilities for tea production but allows you to take part in every step of the process in production until creating fully finished, ready to drink tea. The opportunity to be welcomed into the farmer's home for dinner with his family was also really heartwarming. This is one of those rare tours I would actually come back and do again someday because it was that interesting. For tea drinking enthusiasts, it is a must. For others, I would still recommend this as a very unique and fun way to explore an aspect of life in Vietnam that doesn't get as much attention.

Our good morning Vietnam tour was definitely not what we were in expecting but in a good way!!! Starting at 4.30am in the morning we were fortunate enough to see sights in Hanoi that you cannot see during normal hours such as the flower market and the raising of the flag at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. We also were very lucky to enjoy train street and experience having a train going past us. The tour guide was excellent, was a great experience

We had a wonderful time in Vietnam with Hiep. He brought us through Hanoi, Pu Luong and Nin Binh. He was extremely informative always giving great context to everything we where shown. The two days hiking in Pu Luong where a definite highlight. We can't recommend him highly enough! It was a unique and amazing experience.

My partner and I did the eight day trekking tour starting near Mai Châu traveling through the Pù Luông nature reserve area. We did the trek just before the Tet holiday and all of the homestay families were incredibly kind and welcoming. Dan was our guide, expert chef, medic, and informational gold mine along the way. He was incredibly supportive and responsive to my partner who had sprained her ankle a few weeks before and made adjustments when possible. He had connections with each of the homestays and was goofy and friendly with everyone. A few bits of extra info/advice for this challenging trek: - Our total distance was 95 km over basically 6 days (the first and last days were minimal walking) - Some days are fairly flat on roads through villages and rice paddies, other days are variable off road and very steep up mountains. - Many homestays of ours provided a shower towel, shampoo, and wifi but not all, so come prepared with your own basic toiletries. All homestays provided slippers so you could kick off your muddy boots. - Bring lightweight, quick dry layers in January as it was very humid and foggy, so it was easy to get damp and not be able to dry. - Otherwise seriously pack LIGHT. You don't want to be carrying too much like we were! - All water and food is provided and it was all incredible. Expect to tip the families and your guide as a thank you for all they do. We are so happy that we found Footprint Travel and had Dan as our guide. Knowing exactly where our money was going and that it was being kept local in these rural communities feels great. We got more than we paid for or expected with this trip. Happy New year!
