      2D/1N the way to go
My experience with Alisa Cruises at Hà Long Bay was truly delightful. The staff, consistently friendly and helpful, made the cruise a memorable journey. Their English proficiency facilitated engaging conversations, adding a personal touch to the experience. The activities offered were not only fun but also fulfilling, creating lasting memories. The cruise's commitment to safety was evident, ensuring a worry-free exploration of the stunning Hà Long Bay. Opting for the two-day cruise package proved to be the perfect choice, allowing ample time to immerse myself in the breathtaking surroundings and enjoy the well-curated activities. I also appreciated the ship's cleanliness, a testament to the meticulous maintenance standards of Alisa Cruises. I wholeheartedly recommend this cruise for a perfect blend of hospitality, adventure, and safety in the mesmerizing setting of Hà Long Bay.

Solid option for a two-night stay
We booked a two-night cruise on the Rita and were very satisfied with our cabin accommodations (senior suite with jacuzzi) and the amount of the bay that was covered. We particularly appreciated being encouraged to do outdoor activities like kayaking, biking, and swimming despite the rainy and overcast weather (which we thought made the scenery more scenic actually). Late night karaoke was noisy and the drinks were watered down, but the staff was attentive, so it didn’t dampen our experience.

A nice 1 day trip, spectacular views and good food. The cruise is however old and rooms are small, I may say tiny.
It’s a good trip but for 1 day. Don’t book the 2 nights trip, it is meaningless. Do check on the rooms, it’s outdated and small. The views are spectacular and the food is also awesome.

      Poor hygiene
The boat is old, they only have one hour transition time for departures and arrivals, so probably they only have about an hour to clean the room. Therefore, the facilities and furnitures appeared to be dusky. Itinerary is ok, staff is friendly but cleanliness is really an issue for us. I booked a room with private balcony, there are many ants on the chairs and tables. And the balcony is not private at all, it was just separated from the adjacent room by fences, and you may need to suffer from second hand smoke from the one who lived next to you. Also, they have a period of happy hour on the upper deck before dinner which you can order drinks like cocktails. When I was wandering around the boat after dinner, rubbish left on the table during happy hour was not cleaned up. The site for squid fishing is very crowded, only 5-6 ppl can do this activity and is on a first come first serve basis. I have killed a big cockroach of a size of a thumb. Cockroaches in room is really not acceptable for a so called 5 star cruise. Luckily, they prepared some old slippers for us as weapons. The slippers were used slippers and I did not dare to wear them. In conclusion, not matter how friendly the staff are, the poor hygiene deserved a poor rating.

      We pampering trip
We feel pampered. Feel the luxury of 5 star cruise, we booked and got good offer from agoda, orderedfamily suite. We decided to order pick up transport hanoi to halong port directly from web alisa/rita cruise despite many cheaper alternative transport. We just want to make sure we are worry free and relax. Most people & driver do not speak english so communication rather hard. there are so many docks for so many cruise lines. From transport booking we know one of the cruise staff Nelly. She gave good price on transfer transport, even got upgraded to vip suite with balcony and surprised gift sent to hotel. Nelly is very attentive, we communicate often for any questions by whatsapp. +84 96 612 19 42. Suite room in cruise is clean and comfortable. Food is good as they are included in the itinerary but drinks we have to pay with decent price. Love all the activities, from tiptop mountain, kayaking and cave visit on the next day. All staffs in the cruise and guide John are very helpful, they gave 5 star service as well. The whole journey is superb with ALISA cruise.

Very nice view, new experiences, great food and excellent service.
We were welcomed with a glass of watermelon juice. The lunch was delectable. We went hiking and to the beach looking for seashells at Titop Island. Then we went kayaking. My niece kept splashing water at me! The cooking class was fun. The Christmas dinner was scrumptious. Afterwards we went squid fishing. A lady caught a squid and it squirted black ink. That proved to us that it was real. But after that no one else caught any. That was not a lot of squid for about an hour of trying to catch those. We saw some other fish but no more squid. Then at about 10 p.m. there was a Christmas party. There were games to play and food and drinks. It was a fabulous night! The next morning we had a very delicious breakfast. Soon after we went to the largest cave in Halong Bay. There were a lot of photos to take. Then we checked out and took more photos of the scenery before having an early lunch or brunch. Later we reached shore and got off the Alisa cruise. It was an amazing experience for us!

      Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service, I booked and fully paid for a two night cruise for four people. Unfortunately due to the Corona virus we were unable to go. We cancelled the cruise and we received a full refund. This cruise came personally recommended to me and I am so disappointed that we didn’t get to go but hopefully when the world gets back to normal we can rebook with them.

      My vietnam vacation
All of the staffs are super friendly and polite including the driver who fetched us from the hotel to the harbour. Ms Thuy Trang was our tour guide to sung sont cave and Tip Top island, she also taught us Tai Chi. She was polite and her instructions were clear, she was also very helpful in helping us to take pictures too. We had a great time thanks to all these staffs.

Great views and tons of food
Fantastic cruise with loads of good food, we had 6 courses at the evening meal. Staff were really nice, particularly Thuy and Nancy who arranged the booking. Highly recommended, the room and shower were better than some hotels we’ve been in this trip.

      Great cruise company
I booked my trip with bookings .com and a very helpful women named Anna Pham dealt with the booking and arranged our transfer from Hanoi to Haylon. The cruise was great. Very clean rooms, lots of delicious food and great tours. We went to a cave , kayaking and to tip top mountain. The guide was so helpful and could not do enough. We also had a lesson on making spring rolls. Everything ran to time and we were taken back to Hanoi in a luxury mini bus.

I wont recommend this cruise. Although the staff were friendly and itinerary was ok, the furnitures in the room looks tired and the overall impression - the place looks dusty! We had to dine at the restaurant without aircon, only fan was provided (which is a real joke especially the weather is a 37degree!) The room with balcony room was just a sliding door away from the public but we had people removing furnitures from our balcony (so where is the privacy?). Food wise - average, nothing fantastic. Lastly the bus that picks up up from the port back to Hanoi, the aircon was not functioning at all, we had to endure 1.5hrs of journey without the aircon under the sweltering heat! Should have arranged my own transfer instead of paying a premium of USD35 for the group transfer!

The whole cruise was excellent. Halong Bay is breathtaking! The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were efficient and friendly. The food was tasty and plentiful. Tip top island was very touristy, but the views were beautiful from the viewpoint at the top. The Sung Sot cave was stunning also. Would recommended booking the transfer from Hanoi to the cruise also. It made life very easy.

We had a great 2 day 1 night cruise. All crew members were wonderful and accommodating towards our dietary needs.

Our tour guide Dan was brill, he explained in detail about the Vietnamese culture which added flavour to the tours.

    I’d recommend Alisa tours.

We booked Rita cruise with Anna who was really very helpful from the time we reached out to her. She was always responsive.well done Anna. As Rita didn’t sail on that day we were asked whether we would be ok with going on Alisa cruise for which we agreed. We arrived at the pier at 11:30 from a limousine bus transfer from Hanoi which again was arranged by Anna. We boarded the cruise at 12:30. And had lunch after the safety instructions. The ship sailed for 2 hours before it anchored for the day in Halong bay. We didn’t leave the cruise to visit the island though. The cave was great and a must do but if u have knee issues then better not. The VIP suite room was smaller than I expected. We had ala carte for lunch dinner and brunch and even though I was vegetarian the food was delicious and plenty. Would have loved to be on the newer cruise Rita but Alisa also didn’t disappoint. For best rates book direct with Anna from the cruise company itself.

Review - This review is based on 2 great highlights of our trip whilst in Hanoi, Vietnam. First Alisa Cruise and 2nd Halong Bay (separate reviews for both). First, our cruise, this was scheduled for 2 days 1 night organised via our tour operator in the UK. Alisa proved it’s worth the minute we stepped on board. This was an instant hit, the 21 private suites and cabin were of a high standard which served us well. We knew our short stay would be a comfortable and happy one. In hindsight, a 2 night stay would have been beneficial to enjoy the ambiance and surroundings and allow time to participate in extra activities and recuperate.

Ha Long Pearl Farm - Our first taste of this itinerary was on en-route to the port where we stopped at Ha Long Pearl Farm (a licensed company owned by the government) a bit of a respite, and I guess a crafty ‘tourist stop’. Still, it was interesting and good to watch the workings of how pearls are cultured and set in various forms, with the final product displayed in the showroom. The demonstration of this process was attention to detail, understandably the high price tags reflected the painstakingly time and effort put in producing intricate pieces of jewellery. It was a shopping paradise for those who got hungry to loosen their purse strings and come away with a bargain. (Separate review to follow).

Port Waiting Area - On arrival at the port we were seated in the waiting lounge, greeted by staff who made us feel welcome. Once ready for boarding we were met by a crew member leading us to Alisa. First impressions fabulous, the exterior had a fresh modern look which was carried throughout, elegant and ready to meet new arrivals. We managed to grab a few photos prior to boarding, and captured “Got the t-shirt” stamp.

Checking-in – A smooth transition, warm and welcoming. Staff friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. We were shown to our allocated cabins and once settled, our tour manager gave information on the range of activities, which we excitedly signed up for.

Our cabin – Immaculate and precision to detail great layout of furniture in such a tight space, genius! The colour scheme in blues & cream was in keeping with the overall look and highly maintained. Power sockets, lighting, and air con (my bug bear!) all in good working order. The bedding & pillows were clean and high quality which made all the difference to getting a good night’s sleep. Amenities conveniently laid out and spotless. Bathroom was airy and spacious with a touch of elegance, with usual toiletries and a slated wooden floor in the shower area. Awesome views overlooking rock formations, sitting silently on the glassy waters of the Bay, this was an ‘Wow & Omg’ moment rolled into one.

Activities – A pick & mix of activities e.g. Hiking, Tai Chi, Kayaking, Cooking sessions (in the evening) and various others. We signed up for Kayaking, this was an invigorating and interesting start to the day, highly recommend it. The activity brought alot of fun and laughter as we got off to a bit of a wobbly start, but managed back to the safety point in the given time frame. This was later followed by a hike up to Tip Top Island and Hang Sung Sot Caves, where we wandered around took some interesting photos and walked to a viewing platform admiring the majestic views of the bay.

Food – We were a party of veg and non-veg. The vegetarian cuisine was amazing! Varied and plentiful everything fresh and super yummy. The food was executed to the highest standards, not only in taste but presentation also. Staff were brilliant and efficient (not hovering over us and in your face). The food just kept coming large portions of starters and mains. We were pleasantly surprised the Vietnamese vegetarian dishes took a new spin on things, simple yet tasty. We struggled to leave room for the amazing desserts they were high 'calorific killers', but we didn’t care lol! delicious cakes, fruits, jellies etc. Vegetarian food can be hit or miss in this part of the world, but this dining experience exceeded our expectations. A special thanks to the chefs who went the extra mile to feed our hungry souls.

Staff & Management – Brilliant and organised. They were efficient and trained well delivering an impeccable service. Hospitality and engagement with customers was on par a 5 star. The Cruise Manager, (Phillip?) was gracious and pulled out all the stops ensuring our stay wasn’t compromised at any stage. He worked well in unison with our Tour Manager (Rashila) who also took the responsibility in ensuring the group left with a memorable experience. Staff servicing the bar /restaurant/reception/activities were of a high calibre, and happily obliged for photos. Alisa is a very customer orientated cruise whose primary focus is to serve well, and lead by example for others to follow. This is what brought our stay together as a perfect package.

On a closing note, would I recommend this cruise? Read the review again! We ended our final evening on the top deck of Alisa Sky Bar, enjoying tropical drinks/snacks, dancing to a mix of music (on requests) and admiring the stillness of the bay. This was our flawless fun adventure, with lots going on which ended beautifully in a calm and serene way. Alisa is well deserving of the 5 star rating. A big shout out to Phillip and crew for an amazing stay, thank you. Indu.

The organisation of our stay was done in a very professional and friendly way by Ms Alice. And also the special wish that I am vegetarian was communicated and responded to instantly, I received special meals on the boat. The boat itself was in a very good state and the cruise itself was spectacular. The staff in the boat were very friendly and assisted wherever required. It was a great experience.

I'm surprised they didn't cancel the trip. There were 4 groups, a total of just 12 passengers. The 'cruise' never actually takes you out of site of the port we left from. Nevertheless, we were among the famous bizarre hills in the Halong Bay. I got some incredible photos of the cloud shrouded hills. There were 2 dozen such cruises ships anchored in the area.

This is an extremely brief cruise where you don't even get a chance to settle in, but it's everything they advertise. Our room was the "Senior Suite with balcony", their premium room. The florescent light flickered in the bathroom. The fancy shower was unusable because it was unlit. The lesser shower worked fine. Our A/C was a nightmare that I just unplugged because it was either full on or not on at all. We froze until I just unplugged it. That resulted in a hot sweaty middle of the night.

The adventures were awesome. The food is multi-course and more than we could eat. Pace yourself, and don't feel obligated to eat any course you don't like.

I think if I had chosen a lesser accommodation than the top, I would have been happier, and scored them better. I shared my concerns in their survey.
