Charles is very experienced, very knowledgeable of the dive sites across Phuket , an ex serviceman from the UK he has dived all over the world and been an instructor since 2000. With tips about where to go in middle America and California, he even found a missing WW2 plane in Loch Ness and offered closure to the families of the fatal accident decades after the fact. Very generous with his knowledge, and I was lucky enough to have him as my personal instructor when others made the not bother with only one student. It’s the off season in phuket so many other instructors would wait until they could book multiple students on their dives. Now Padi open water certified, very confident, and having swum with leopard sharks, turtles, lion fish, and sighted many fish and corals I need to avoid to stay safe , I gotta say I can’t fault the training, detail, and knowledge I have is all down to the thorough and fun training of one very clever and talented Scottish fella. Completely unsteriotypically generous. (Sorry Charles had to remind you of the stingy Jock joke). Oh and special thanks to the boat crew , great food, friendly assistants, and awesome dive sites.

Booked our 2 days boat diving with Kiwidivers from UK before we got to Thailand. Booking couldn't have been easier - Charles was knowledgeable and really helpful. My daughter had to complete her open water dives for Padi Open Water certification and we completed 6 dives over 2 days in some of the most spectacular locations including Phi Phi. We had a great experience with the Kividivers! Charles was very flexible in the planning and with Jean we had a perfect dive instructor. I did my Padi Open Water Certification and my partner joined for the two diving days in the sea. Jean was the perfect teacher and he was also a very relaxed and calm instructor who showed us in a very responsible way all the cool spots at the dive sites! We highly recommend the Kividivers!

Charles was the best diving teacher and instructor one can wish for. I started my Open Water course really scared and unsure if diving was for me. But Charles was incredibly patient with me, answering all my questions in detail and made me feel safe and confident to try my first ever dive. His calmness and patience helped me stay relaxed. He knows the area really well and what species to look out for at each dive site. He knows how to get away from other divers, finding our own routes which is why we got lucky to see sharks, leopard sharks, cuttle fish, sea horses and turtles. But each dive was special as Charles finds and points out even the smallest shrimp in their holes. I had such a great time I booked another dive the week after finishing my course.

My husband and I booked Charles for 3- 3day tank dives. Charles was easy to communicate with prior to leaving home which ensured that we had the proper size equipment prior to arriving. We arrived at the meet site where other divers were also meeting their Dive Masters. From there we took a bus down the Pier and got onto the Sirolodive boat. This is a big boat for 50 plus divers and their dive masters. This seems like a large number, but the boat and crew are very efficient. The boat has 3 washrooms which is a plus and they also provide pretty good meals all day long, which is great because the days are long. What was nice is that we did not have to worry about grabbing a meal afterwards. Charles provided briefings each day on what to expect. On the first day we had one other diver in our group and the remaining 2 days their was just the two of us with Charles. We went to the Phi Phi Island's twice and to Ratcha on another day. The diving was really good with soft and hard corals, lots of large schools of fish, typical reef fish, moray, etc... The highlight was seeing a lemon shark, black tipped reef sharks and a sea horse. Sally and I did a 3 day dive with Charles (9 dives all together) on Jan 2023. We dove 1:2 with Charles for two full days. On the third day anther diver joined us, but it still felt quite personal. Charles is very knowledgable (over 8000 dives!). He guided us well above and underwater, and offered invaluable technical advice on equalization, buoyancy, leg work and kicking, etc. On our first day he suggested that I use larger air-tanks, and provided me with 15 lbs tanks for days 2 & 3, which extend our dives to 50min+. The boat we used (SiroloDive) was well equipped, had great staff, and served great meals We were told by other divers that it is considered the best boat around. Charles is also a wonderful underwater photographers. The photos he sent us after the dive are wonderful momentos from our 3 fun underwater days in Phuket.

My brother and I arrived in Phuket and decided on short notice to take an Open Water Course. All dive shops turned us down for short notice, however, Charles at Kiwi Diver made it happen! As we learned to dive, Charles was meticulous with the training, yet he made diving fun and not too technical! As I honed my skills, I became more confident and explored divergent dive sites. If you're in Phuket and thinking about taking a dive, Kiwi Diver is your place. The prices might be a little higher than other dive shops, but the divemaster here has over 9,000 dives under his belt, which translates to a fantastic learning experience.

Myself and my partner dived for 9 days with Charles and Kiwidivers in the incredible Andaman sea. Charles was a fantastic instructor and guide; he is competent and friendly, we always felt safe and he knew each dive site really well, sometimes taking us to areas where no other divers seemed to be visiting. We saw amazing wildlife while we were diving, and Charles also gave us time at each site to collect footage we wanted for a project. Both of us are certified divers but still felt like we improved massively during the course of the trip. We also completed the drift diver specialty with Kiwidivers, which was completed and signed off quickly. The dive sites themselves are special, and Charles ensured you get a variety if you go to the same island multiple times. Kiwidivers were extremely helpful with other travel tips, transport to the boat, and support when our gear broke/not appropriate for what we wanted to do. Could not recommend Kiwidivers enough, we had an amazing trip and will be coming back.

Charles was a fantastic instructor, very detailed, and tells you the why of things and real-life scenarios when teaching the techniques, safety skills, and equipment usage. When in open water, he guides you through everything and makes you feel safe even if you have never dived before, swimming between corals, showing you really cool marine life, and taking pictures of you! I highly recommend taking the Open Water Course with him, and I can't wait to be back in Thailand to dive more and maybe do the Advanced Course with the most experienced instructor in Phuket!

We booked a three tank dive with Kiwi Divers. Our guide Charles was super competent, friendly, and handled all the gear which for me, a relatively small woman, is a great perk. Charles also did a good job explaining the dive plan at each site, we saw a shark, a turtle, squid, eels, and lots of beautiful coral. Great day of diving!

I just finished my Open Water Diver Course with Charles and Kiwidivers. Charles was absolutely amazing and competent as my instructor. I had a personal 3 day session with him and i felt super safe and this made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. Charles was always extremely patient with me given that this was my first time diving. He made the process super easy and smooth. Would be recommending his center to my friends and family - would love to do my advanced course with him as well.
