- coolcars0 contributionsNot to be missed! All I can say is wow! The temples we were privileged to see were so very interesting and very different. What made this tour extra special was our guide Gobi! He was such an intelligent, interesting and great story teller! Our driver was also added a lot as he was also a photographer so he took so many fantastic pictures! Perfect amount of time, highly recommendedWritten March 9, 2025

We felt very comfortable and are grateful for the individual and kind planning and accomodation. Noi was a super competent and friendly host - the driver was also very kind to us. - 466akirak0 contributionsPerfect temple tour with fantastic guideOur private tour guide, Star, was an absolute superstar guide! She was so knowledgeable, polite and guided us at a comfortable pace. Hotel pick-up at 8.30am, three temple tours, and drop-off at 1pm was the perfect duration for a morning tour. Highly recommend for an informative and comfortable tour around some significant temples in Chiang Mai.Written February 24, 2025
- Dream210917351550 contributionsFantastic and meaningfulOur day began with Noom who was an outstanding guide. He provided all of the information we were interested in knowing and graciously responded to all of our questions. He was respectful to take cues from our pace, understood what was of interest to us, was sure they we always had the best vantage points, photo tips, and valuable information. Noom always made sure we were comfortable and happy. He also satisfied our intellectual curiosity. He had great communication with the driver to ensure he was at the ready for us as well and we had plenty of water and refreshing cool wipes. We had a memorable experience visiting the temples and understood the connection between them, the city of Chiang Mai and the people. This tour felt so personal and enriching. We felt so lucky to have this experience. Would highly recommend and suggest you request Noom. He will ensure your experience is meaningful to you.Written February 22, 2025

- U5466ZUpaulinec0 contributionsGood experienceOur second trip with guide Nui from AP Travel. Again we were picked up from our hotel this time on a half day tour to Doi Suthep and Palad temples. Very interesting trip made more so by Nui’s knowledge. We asked at the end of the trip if we could be dropped off in the old town of Chiang Mai instead of the hotel and Nui was happy to oblige. Fond memories of our visits to Chaing Mai and our guide Nui both trips were a reasonable price too for a private tour.Written February 1, 2025
- leedsrubysandy0 contributionsGreat evening trip.Really enjoyed this evening trip. We were picked up at 4pm in a mini bus. The traffic was busy leaving Chang Mai. The ‘Hidden Temple’ in a lovely setting in a forest and was very peaceful. The driver told us about the different parts of the temple. We then went to Doi Suthep temple. From there you could see the whole of Chiang Mai. The sunset was hazy but the view was still good.Written January 30, 2025

He was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor that made the whole time so enjoyable. We learned a lot about the local plants and history and enjoyed wonderful scenery . The pagoda gardens were stunning and hike in the park was one of the best parts of our trip so far . Would highly recommend!Written January 26, 2025

We learned so much as Nui trained to be a monk. I’d highly recommend this tour and be sure to ask for 2 Nui’s to make it extra special!!Written January 25, 2025
- Q3796YAscottd0 contributionsOnce In A Lifetime ExperienceThis week my wife and I went on the Half Day Long Neck Hill Tribe and Hmong Hill Tribe tour by private car. We were fortunate enough to have Mr Gobi as our tour guide for the 3rd time (upon our request). I have to say this was one of the best tours we have ever been on and was made even better by having Mr Gobi as our guide. We would never have been able to experience what we did, on our own, without attending this tour. Mr Gobi showed us all of the crops that the Hmong grew then took us into one of the Hmong villagers houses which was a very special experience. Follow that we headed to the Karon Long neck tribe village which again was a very special experience. We found Mr Gobi to be easy going and friendly with a great sense of humour which kept us entertained. He felt more like a friend than a tour guide by the end. We’d also like to give our driver, Mr Boo a shout out as he was an extremely careful driver who managed to navigate the windy roads to our destinations and return us safely back to our hotel. We highly recommend this tour!Written January 17, 2025

Had a brilliant tour with our guide Nui who collected us from our hotel which was a bonus. Nui was charming giving us just the right amount of information without overloading us. The temples were amazing well worth the drive in a very comfortable vehicle from Chaing Mai. Lunch was tasty and Nui offered us more if required. He gave us the best pineapple I have ever tasted and a delicious pastry from booths I probably wouldn’t have gone to but Nui knew they were good to eat. Would certainly recommend AP Travel and Nui as a guide

A wonderful day with Noom - he was friendly, efficient and very informative. He was brilliant at keeping a 15 year old teenager interested and engaged - as well as looking after the parents! I would not hesitate to recommend him. His English is better than mine - but then I am from Wales!
The selected sites were amazing and the drive, while quite long, was an experience in itself. The minivan was clean, comfortable and air conditioned and the views along the highway meant that time flew by.

WOW! I'm blown away at the quality of this tour. Our guide was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable and by far exceeded my expectations. We were shuttled around in a large van would was comfortable. Our driver was also fantastic. People in Bangkok tend to drive aggressively, but he was very patient and got us around safely. Don't hesitate to book this trip.

Took this tour in February 2020. I was staying in Chiang Mai and wanted to see the Chiang Rai temples. Thought this tour would be a good option. For an 11hr excursion, we only spent about 3 hours at actual sites. The rest of the trip was at a gross lunch and stuck in a car driving.
Pick up was 7:30am. I was one of the last to be picked up (there were 12 total people on the tour). Our tour guide really should not have been called a “guide”. She told us when we got to a new location and when to be back. Didn’t really tell is anything about the sites. Her English also wasn’t great, which led to a lot of confusion from some of the European tourists. A few of us had to translate for her for the rest of the group. Also awkward when she insisted for tips at the end, and no one wanted to tip her.
One thing I wish I knew was that there is SO much construction on the main highway between chiang mai and chiang rai, which caused a ton of traffic and a very uncomfortable ride. We were driving on a bumpy gravel road for most of it. Because it was construction zone, the drive took double as long (about 3hrs there and 4hrs back). And you couldn’t really nap on the drive given how bumpy it was.
We stopped at a hot spring on the way there - which was a waste of time. Despite everyone on the tour being ready to leave after about 10mins, the tour guide made us stick around for 30mins. On the way back, we stopped at a boring normal rest stop. Same thing where we were ready to leave after a bit, but were forced to wait around.
I will say the temples were fascinating - but make sure you understand what you are visiting! Some of the others on the tour were disappointed because they didn’t realize the temples were going to be so “modern”.

What a great day exploring the Temples of Chiang Rai. Noulie, our guide and Jackie our driver were wonderful. Nouie's knowledge, personality, and making sure we were having a great trip were so very welcome. I would recommend this trip for couples, small families and groups. The door to door service and comfortable ride were certainly an added perk.

Gobi was a fantastic tour guide!!! He really catered to the needs of our family. An excellent tour of the Northern region of Thailand with the highlights being the Golden Triangle, the white temple, and the opium museum. He was extremely helpful and caring. The restaurant he brought us to was absolutely wonderful! The best Tom Yum soup in Thailand. The drive was long although still enjoyable. He was insanely knowledgeable about Chiang Rai. Would recommend this tour to anyone!!!! Extra special thanks to Gobi!!!! 🇹🇭❤️

This tour was arranged through our hotel the Shangri La in Chiang Mai.
We can’t speak highly enough of how courteous and pleasant the guide Gobi and the driver Mr Gai were.
Gobi provided us with great information as we travelled which greatly to our trip.
I learned a lot about local culture and people Gobi as we travelled to Chiang Rai.
The van was extremely comfortable, air conditioned & spotlessly clean.
The white temple is stunning & exceeded our expectations.
Nothing was a problem for them and they went above and beyond to make sure we were very well looked after.
At this stage of my life I find it far less stressful than driving yourself in a foreign country. These guys know the area and practices which makes it very easy as the passengers.
The white temple is unlike any other temple I’ve visited in Thailand & extremely beautiful.
The extension to the Golden Triangle makes the day long but we are glad we’ve seen it. The visit to the Opium Museum is worth doing.
Highly recommended trip

My husband and I had a great time on this tour (it also included a hill tribe visit). Noom (our tour guide) and Boo (our driver) were the best we could have asked for. We took our time, asked lots of questions, and Noom took some amazing natural pictures of us as well as being very knowledgeable. It was an early start and late finish, but they really took care of us :)
Thanks for a brilliant experience.

We had the opportunity to visit multiple temples and hill tribes with Gobi during our stay in Chiang Mai.
Gobi exceeded all of our expectations! High-spirited and knowledgeable, Gobi made our experience fun and informative.
Gobi also took good care of our taste buds: be sure to ask him for the best spots to try local cuisine!
Thank you, Gobi, for the memorable experience!

We had the pleasure of having Pa as our tour guide and she was amazing!!!
We didn’t fully know what to expect but this tour was so incredible. The van ride is about 3 hours each way but on the way we stopped at the hot springs to break up the drive a little bit. Pa was awesome about taking our photos whenever we asked and recommended an amazing coconut ice cream place at the blue temple.
She was very knowledgeable on the different places we drove past and the locations we visited.
We appreciated how calm and effortless this experience was.
Thank you so much Pa!
