- arrwes0 contributionsGreat way to taste Chiang Mai!We did the evening foodie tour and met our tour guide outside of the Warorot Market where she showed us around and arranged for some tasty treats before going to the flower market. Afterwards she drove us to a neighborhood spot for some great dishes - lots of food to try, plus it was nice to see different areas from where we had been staying. After our dinner we went to the beautiful Wat Chedi Luang built in the 13th Century - lovely temple, especially at night. We then drove to another night market and had some more delicious hand-picked street food. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and gave helpful tips on other places to try near our hotel. Overall, great food your and way to see a different part of Chiang Mai!Written February 8, 2020
- saa4270 contributions100% Recommend! My husband and I had a half day tour visiting various tourist spots and we had the best time with our guides. They were super nice and friendly and very accommodating with the activities we wanted to do and how we wanted it to fit into our schedule. I would definitely recommend going with them!Written January 26, 2020
- 626kelseyb0 contributionsWonderful! This tour was fantastic! We called last minute (at 3:15) to see if we could make the 4 pm tour and were able to book a tour for 4:30. It ended up being a private tour as we were the only ones who booked. Dee was amazing! She is so friendly and taught us a ton in 4 hours. I highly recommend this tour for your first day in Chiang Mai. It’s a great way to learn about the city and how to navigate it, all while eating delicious food. Definitely come hungry. We were stuffed by the end!Written November 20, 2019
- Diane G0 contributionsAmazing experience!!Amazing food tour! We tasted so many amazing things, the guide gave us personal attention, we got to know the city better, and the food was delicious!! Well worth the time and money!Written November 12, 2019
- Nadja8720 contributionsGreat experience of food and cultureWe booked the evening tour starting at 4pm. It turned out to be private as only the two of us booked the tour. Our guide was really lovely, open and also interested in us. The food which we most probably would not have tried w/o the tour was great and a huge variety. The nearly 4 hours flew by and we will come back for the morning tour. Thanks for this experience.Written November 9, 2019
- gutakesworld0 contributionsPrivate Morning Food Tour was fantasticI can not recommend this food tour enough. It’s such a beautiful way to explore a new city, through your taste buds. I have done many food tours around the world and this was perfectly executed. we got to try around 10 dishes and loved every one of them. our tour guides were sweet and punctual. they were very knowledgeable about each dish, restaurant and history of it. I learned a lot about northern thailand and am appreciative of the knowledge i has gained from this 4 hour excursion.Written June 19, 2019
- igs0 contributionsSo much great foodMy wife and I did the evening walking tour with dang. It was an amazing experience. Over the course of the tour, we sampled many different types of food. In fact, there was almost too much good food. After walking around a market, Dang drove us to a restaurant which specialized in Northern Thai food, where we had a full dinner. After taking us through the town, we stopped off at the north gate market and had another dinner. After that, we were so ful, but could not say no to some mango sticky rice and Roti to finish the evening off. Dang did an excellent job and the tour was wonderful. Very highly recommended.Written May 28, 2019
- ktsmith50 contributionsAwesome tour of chiang maiWe ended up getting a private tour for 2 because no one else signed up for our time slot! Daeng was awesome and so genuine. She gave us a great overview of the city, customs, traditional Thai food, and the markets. She dropped us off at our hotel after which was great!! Would definitely recommend.Written February 13, 2019
- RTWreset0 contributionsGreat hosts and lots of amazing foodWe typically go on a food tour within a few days of arriving to a new place, and this food tour was terrific! Our hosts were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, not only about the food, but also the history of the area. Come hungry because you will get tons of food on this tour. We were stuffed by the end and enjoyed every bit of it.Written December 18, 2018
- Kelly N0 contributionsFantastic way to try it all! This tour is a must do in Chiang Mai. Pontip was a terrific tour guide, and we ate amazing street food we never would have found on our own. Being with her was like hanging out with a friend for the afternoon — a friend who knows all of the good secrets about the city! Dang was a wonderful driver who was also fun to talk with between stops. The food was so good and we ended the evening with full bellies and big smiles. Highly recommend!Written December 16, 2018
- susansD7810GW0 contributionsTerrific Food TourWe had a delicious and fun time! Deang was our tour guide and she couldn’t have been better. She walked and drove us all over Chiang Mai. We tasted many kinds of interesting snacks, drinks, main courses, and desserts. Don’t think we’ll have to eat for a week! She showed us sites along the way and took us to a beautiful temple. She was delightful to be with and we got a great sense of Northern Thai food. I’d highly recommend this tour!Written November 28, 2018
- AndyandKim20100 contributionsA perfect tour to start a holiday in Chiang MaiWhat a great tour to familiarise yourself with the area and most importantly the safe and delicious food of this region. Deang, our wonderful, friendly tour guide was the perfect hostess. The program was excellent and took us to various locations throughout town. We were on the evening tour on our first night in Chiang Mai and visited markets, restaurants and temples. We found that temples in the evening was more pleasant than during the day as it’s cooler and there are no crowds. We tried so many new & some of our favourite dishes. Notable mentions are the Chiang Mai sausage & rice cookies at the market, the dinosaur donuts, roti with banana, cinnamon & honey and my absolute favourite was the super delicious mango with sticky rice that was topped with crunchy mung beans 😋 You will be in a good food coma at the end of this tour! Highly recommended!!! Thanks for a fantastic tour!Written November 23, 2018
- SubhasisB0 contributionsWalk, eat, pray, love!Walking through the colour splashed food nd flower markets, eating every now and then, at shops, stalls, restaurants and push carts, praying at the spectacular temples cast against a pink sunset, listening to the nuggets of information from the foodie guides, learning to love Chiangmai bit by bit :)Written October 2, 2018
- Denise D0 contributionsGreat Experience, Great Tour GuidesI traveled alone to Chiang Mai and found this tour through Trip Advisor. They told me where to meet the tour guide, but I got lost and the driver came and found me and brought me to the group. Such wonderful guides. Very informative and helpful. Great knowledge of Thailand and good variety of food to try. Really appreciated their welcoming attitude.Written September 4, 2018

Our guide PT was amazing at handling our special dietary requests. She gave us the confidence to try new dishes in restaurants we would have never entered on our own. I also appreciated her knowledge of the history and culture of the region. I would highly recommend this tour.

Let me tell you it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had traveling! We got to try SO MANY local dishes that I wouldn’t even have known to order. We visited multiple markets, restaurants, and even got to visit a temple at night time (to give us some time to make room for more food lol).
Sampling dishes is one thing but having a local explain the differences between regional cuisine, how rare they are, and the profile flavors was just incredible.
Also S/O to our guide PT and our driver D for not just stuffing us w/ delish food but also teaching us about Thai history, culture, and giving us tips for other restaurants and dishes to try.

Despite arriving unexpectedly late for the tour, we were warmly welcomed when we caught up and ultimately had a great time.
Our guide; PT, was lovely and took us on a tour of the local marketplace, pointing out many ingredients and ready-to-eat produce, explaining their use and place in the local Thai diet.
The selection of food she provided for us, via the various street-food stalls and one restaurant was really varied and all very tasty. We ended the tour all feeling a little better educated and completely stuffed!

It was just the two of us for the tour & we had a great time! Our guide P'Thi met us at the Three Kings Monument and took us to six places to try 11 dishes, including Chiang Mai classic such as Khao Soi, sausage and mango sticky rice (and more) but also some great local tips for traditional breakfast food and dumplings.
The dishes were delicious and, as someone who has lived in Chiang Mai before, I thought they were a great way introduction to local cuisine. P'Thi also showed us around some temples and local sights and took the time to explain some of the history to us.
Towards the end, the summer heat in Chiang Mai really got to us so I recommend bringing a hat & a fan.
Thanks a lot for the great experience!

We joined the evening tour and met our guide PT outside the Warorot market.
She took us through the market and made it interesting for us.
She also took us to Wat Chedi Luang and gave us historical lessons regarding the old city.
During the trip, we had lots of different and delicious food. Do come hungry and be prepared to indulge in the food dishes.
Everything was very organised and PT took care of us well.

I had a private tour with PT who was sweet and a wonderful tour guide. She took us to all the popular places visited by locals. There was so much food to eat during the tour that I highly recommend going on an empty stomach. From the local Thai sausage and sticky rice, Thai iced tea, fried donuts, and others, it was a delicious and amazing experience. We even got to go to a place Anthony Bourdain (a food hero) visited, which I didn't know about, so that was a big bonus for me.
One tip is that if you Google Maps search the name of the meeting location hotel, it will take you to the side street entrance of the hotel. The meeting location is on the main street around the corner next to the McDonalds.

I'm a foodie and I try to check out the local cuisine in every place I visit. This time I was on a scouting trip and decided to do the evening foodie tour. Fantastic! PT, our foodie/tour guide, was great. Very pleasant and funny. The tour starts off with some tea and classic Northern Thai street market food and just kept getting better. The restaurant we visited is a place locals go and the food was all yummy. Did not have a dish I did not like. We finished it up with some street food desserts and she arranged to have our driver return us to our hotel.
If you are coming to Chiang Mai and you like food you need to book this tour!

PT was a wonderful tour guide who told us much about northern Thailand dishes and culture more generally, as well as Chiang Mai spots. We toured around in a tuk-tuk for part of the tour and walked through local streets and food market tasting delicious authentic dishes. Since it was our first day in the city PT suggested several places we might enjoy during our stay, which we might enjoy, and those did not disappoint!

PT was such a great food tour guide! Not only did I learn a lot about Thai food but I also learned a lot about the history of Chiang Mai. PT was also so friendly and welcoming. I definitely felt very full at the end of this tour, it was a good selection of authentic Thai dishes from places locals actually eat at! PT was also very considerate about the spice levels and comfort levels of trying new foods. Overall a really great experience!

We just booked for tonight’s evening tour. Where exactly is the meeting place in the Warorot Market? It says near the ping River. Can you be more specific?
