About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Tinwyn0 contributionsActive and RelaxingHad a fantastic time hiking with Tan. He shared his knowledge of the area, peoples, plants and animals. We saw mountains, jungles, farms and sunsets. It was very peaceful. All 3 days seemed just right, with the longest distance on day 2 and delicious food throughout. If you are looking for a unique hike, requiring some fitness, that takes you on a little trail through the mountains this is it. I would recommend wearing long pants (not shorts) and regular running shoes with good grip - don’t bring a lot, just rinse your clothes at night. Tan will make you a hiking pole from a bamboo tree. Super wonderful!Written February 15, 2024
- denizs1730 contributionsWonderful active way of learning about culture and natureWonderful trip. Out guide spoke good english and gave a lot of info on culture and nature. The bikes were good and the lunch was gooodWritten January 16, 2024

- ElenaW2690 contributionsImmerse yourself in natureWe chose this trip as we wanted a more strenuous hiking experience in order to get off the beaten track (as much as is realistically possible) and see lots of jungle, which we did :) we barely saw any other tourists or people during the trip, we stayed in a beautiful homestay on the first night and in a village on the second. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about all the plants and trees and was happy to answer any questions we had, he was also a great cook. Highlights for us were our picnic fried rice and the waterfall. The only downside was the that the hiking on the last day was just along a road/mudtrack, it would be great if we could have used hiking paths as we did on the first and second days. Be aware that the 'staying with the hill tribe' part included minimal interaction, they just own the accommodation. Overall a great experience!Written August 20, 2023
- mirandastoccoaus0 contributionsA Thailand trip highlight and a must-do for anyone wanting to get off the beaten track. My partner and I absolutely loved this 3 day trek with the incredible Mr Tan (our guide). The trek takes you through various stunning environments including jungle, farmland, woodland, waterfalls and forest. We found the walking to be the perfect level of difficulty whilst still being able to soak up the scenery and enjoy yourself. Mr Tan’s knowledge of the area, the plants, animals and the local tribes that inhabit each area is nothing short of remarkable! We learned so much from him and he is a lovely man with an epic sense of humour! The home stays are authentic and offer the most incredible sunrise and sunset views over mountains. Not one other tourist or group was spotted throughout the trip, which makes it even more authentic and special. This trip was definitely the highlight of our 16 day stay in Thailand. Thank you Mr Tan- we hope to see you again next time! From Miranda and Jimmy.Written February 12, 2023

- Trek5205020 contributionsNice hiking day at a remote hillVery nice trip with guide Khun Sap. We had nice hike around and Khun Sap explained the different plants and we tried various leaves. Lunch was freshly cooked and we all got a fresh coffee or tea. The group of 6 was mixed and we all enjoined the day (27.12.2022)Written December 30, 2022

- Kathryn950 contributionsA life changing experience and one you will never forget! Our trip to Thailand included a 3-day mountain trek in Chiang Dao and this was most definitely the highlight of our holiday. The trek was certainly challenging, especially on day 2 with a steep climb down and then a steep climb up in the afternoon, but the experience and the views were well worth it. Our guide, Sap, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and a great cook! He showed us so much and was a fantastic guide. I think we were lucky in that it was just my partner and I on the trek, so it really was a personal guided tour. The villages we visited and the homestay accommodation were in the most spectacular settings and we saw some great sunsets and sunrises. The heat and humidity were tough, especially for us Brits and there were a few moments when I doubted I could do it but it soon passed and this trek is all we can talk about! If you have any doubts, don't! Just do it, you won't regret it.Written October 26, 2022
- H5503OTsandrinef0 contributionsgreat experienceThe tour was pleasant. A driver picked us up at the hotel and brought us to the start of the hike. The hike was very interesting. All along the tour, the guide explained us things about the vegetation and made us taste fruits and plants. The lunch was very good with the possibility to eat vegetarian. The hike is not very long, exactly what we were looking for.Thank you very much for the tour.Written September 21, 2022

- 333maril0 contributionsJungle hike/zipline tourPeaceful jungle hike with a knowledable and sympatetic guide (Mikael). After a tasty lunch the higlight of the day, zipline! This was our first zipline experience. It was great. all in all, a very enjoyable day.Written February 3, 2020
- Tianna O0 contributionsChinMy brother and I completed this tour and loved it! Our guide was Chin, and he took the time to stop and explain so much. As we trekked he was always discussing different stories from the jungle, traditions, customs, and overall shared a lot of knowledge that we thoroughly enjoyed! The hike was not strenuous per se, but I’d say you have to be fairly active because there is climbing up and down the hills/mountainside as well as around rocks, etc. The second part of the tour, zip lining, was really fun as well! We loved our guides and they were really funny. There are 2 drops (1 is 15m and one is 40m) and they were a bit scary, but we felt completely safe and the drops were still fun! I’d recommend this tour!Written January 12, 2020
- AmyClaireM0 contributionsBest trip of the holiday! We did this back in May so apologies for the delayed review! Our tour guide was Zak and he was so friendly and knowledgable! He had so much to tell us about the flora and fauna. He has a great sense of humour and really made the day special. I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of our trip. It was super hot (over 40 degrees) on the day we did this trip and Zak and the minibus driver kept us well hydrated with cool water which was much appreciated!Written December 1, 2019
- steveamcb0 contributionsGreat Trek and Learning Experience of Thai Plants, Trees, Fruits & InsectsOverall I very much enjoyed the trek, accompanied by just 2 others and the guide. Every morning the jungle was shrouded in cloud, but it was great, quite mysterious, and also cooler. We still had some great vistas of the mountains mainly late morning and afternoons. Khun Sak was a fantastic guide, very lively, happy and a good sense of humour. He taught us a great deal about the plants, insects, fruits and way of life in the jungle. The length and grade of the walk was fine, but could easily do a bit more on day 3. The Lahu Village on the first night was OK (although we all thought that the dogs barking were crazy), whilst the Shan Homestay on the second night was excellent. The walk down on Day 3 is really nice through tea and coffee plantations, but overall I feel it could be improved because in reality it's only half a day. On the descent there is a small village, and I bought an iced coffee at the "Jungle Cafe" there, so we all stopped for about 30 minutes. Perhaps a little longer at the Homestay after breakfast, because it's a really nice place, and a planned stop at the Jungle Cafe for an iced drink and snack/light lunch would be a great enhancement. Total length is about 6km (up) + 14km (up/down) + 7km (down) = 27km.Written August 23, 2019

Amazing day jam packed with activities. The day started with a beautiful and informative bike ride around the Chiang Mai countryside, complete with a stop by the rice fields to check out the rice growing process. We then kayaked across the stunning lake to the floating houses where we ate a delicious lunch (plenty of food to go around!). Pan was an amazing tour guide - informative, funny and genuine. Sarah was an excellent addition to the team and got some spectacular photos. Would highly recommend this team.
