- Dream605146897000 contributionsGreat fun in Chiang MaiBooked the class through our hotel and we were picked up at 9am before being taken to a local market where the instructor talked us through some ingredients used in Thai cooking. Then we were taken to the cooked school and shown around the garden. Before preparing the ingredients and cooking the food. We made 3 courses a soup a curry and a stir fry. Afterwards we made mango sticky rice and Thai milk tea, then we were dropped back at our hotel. Overall I felt the price of 1000 baht per person was fair and there was a lot of food to eat. The instructor was good and very friendly and fun day overall. Would defiantly recommend a visit.Written January 16, 2024
- Ellie H0 contributionsHighly recommend and well worth itA great morning. We started at the local market and then had a tour of the organic garden at Mamanoi. We were able to choose what we wanted to cook and then prepared and cooked three courses to eat ourselves. Everyone in our group was very friendly and the staff were really patient with a 7 year old girl in our group, helping her cut and prepare. Highly recommend and Arm was a great teacher!!!Written December 25, 2023

- 561nicg0 contributionsSo worth it!We LOVED our trip to Mama Noi’s cooking school. We, a family of 4 with a 9 and 18 yr old, started the morning with a super informative trip to the market where we were introduced to many of the ingredients we would be cooking with. It was an eye opening experience to see the range and quality of the produce being sold there and Nook, our guide and tutor, was very helpful, funny and informative. We then headed to the school itself for a tour of the gardens which were amazing too - not to mention we all loved meeting the two resident tortoises and cats. The class itself worked like clockwork even though we had our 10yr old who had never cooked before. The tutor, Nook, was fun and kind and we were all amazed that a short time later we had all created three fantastic dishes! After we had eaten these we finished off by making Thai sticky rice and mango as well as Thai tea. We left feeling full of great food and grateful for such an excellent experience.Written September 26, 2023

Pick-up and drop off was included (anywhere near Chiang Mai) which was super convenient!:) You get to pick from a number of options and make three main meals plus dessert and Thai tea! - Chau_Le03080 contributionsPerfect cooking experience in ChiangmaiIt's an amazing experience in Chiangmai. We did join the best cooking school :D The teacher Arm and all staffs are super kind, nice and funny. We visited the local market and learnt more about Thai Cuisine. Also, the best thing that we can choose the dishes we want to cook, there is no fixed menu that you have to follow. Really like the flexible menu for all people who join the class. Highly recommended the best activity.Written January 3, 2023
- O8991TBpatrickm0 contributionsPerfect funNo lie, the best Thai food we have had on our trip so far (we have been here 4 days - we ate at House of Ginger and the Four Seasons restaurant Khao, the street market food was VERY good as well but we ate different dishes). We came in, a family of 7, and Arm was super patient with us and shared detailed information about the ingredients and process. Shout out to ARM! It is December 2022 and they just reopened for the first time since Covid 3 months ago so they could use the business, head here for a really fun experience and great food.Written December 27, 2022

The cooking class at Mama Noi’s was even more fun (and educational) than we anticipated. I took it with my 13-year-old son on our last day in Chiang Mai to kill time before catching our midnight flight home. Wow! Im so glad we took this class. Great value! We agreed it was one of our top three highlights in Chiang Mai. The half-day program was well organized. Our instructor, Blue, was easy to understand and very approachable. She added to the overall festive, friendly vibe as did the other six students from various countries. We were picked up on time at our accommodation at 3:30 pm and got back around 8 pm. The shopping trip /market tour was informative, and the cooking school’s campus, with its organic gardens, is so beautiful and whimsical: look for the cute nooks and kitties hiding around the grounds! The cooking part of the day was relatively easy to follow and felt safe although you should have some very basic cooking skills like how to use a knife and practice safety measure when using a stovetop with high heat/flames. Might be a little unsafe for those kids without any cooking experience or under age nine/ten. The cooking moves pretty fast and there are a lot of instructions to follow. I left inspired to cook each recipe listed in the cookbook that everyone receives at the end of the class. Note: We booked AC. I highly recommend it, especially if you have kids. It's worth it. It could be challenging for those people uncomfortable in warmer climates, such as is my son, if they didn't have the long breaks from the heat in a fabulously air-conditioned cooking space. The AC space was used after the market during introductions, setup, during ingredient prep, and for our eating time. All of the cooking stoves are outside but if you booked AC the majority (70%?) of your time is in AC after the market. Thank you, Blue & all at the school!

This Thai cooking class was really, really enjoyable. We were picked up at our hotel and then stopped at a local market. We were taken around to a few vendors and then were able to explore on our own for about 15 minutes or so. We hopped back into the vehicle and were taken to the organic farm and cooking school. Blue was our chef and showed us some lovely produce in the garden and we got to feed two tortoises. We then got to choose a stir fry dish, a soup, and a curry dish we wanted to cook. Blue was very encouraging and kept the mood light as we cooked our dishes together. We all sat down to eat the dishes (really big portions) and then made mango sticky rice and Thai tea. Blue also handed out little cookbooks at the end so we could make the recipes at home. I would recommend this cooking class to anyone! Thanks, Blue and the rest of the staff!

The cooking class with our leader Maddie was a lot of fun. The cooking school is in the middle of its own garden with a lake and is very lovingly designed. We chose three dishes from each of the three to cook, plus a dessert for each of us and a Thai tea. Everything was super delicious and very educational. Maddie was super relaxed and really funny. During the previous market tour and the short tour of the cooking school garden, we saw everything that we then used to cook. Make sure you come hungry!
The only thing that was a bit too fast for me personally was the pace, especially during the market tour and the meal at the end. But that's a matter of taste ;).
Thank you for everything, Maddie, I will definitely cook from the cookbook again at home!

What an amazing experience! We had such a great time visiting the market to learn about the Thai produce and ingredients, and we loved cooking all the dishes - but the best part was enjoying the incredible food at the end of the class. Everything was SO flavorful and better than many restaurants we went to! Rae was our guide and did a fantastic job teaching us about the ingredients and how to cook, and keeping us engaged and having lots of fun! If you love Thai food and want a great cooking class experience, we highly recommend this class.

Experience was perfectly executed - from hotel pickup to clean up! They made cooking 4 dishes for the evening class seem so easy, and we were more than stuffed by the end. Teachers were knowledgeable and talented. Food was tasty and the place where the classes took place was so interesting and fun! 10/10 would recommend, worth the value we paid.

This cooking course was so nice, it was very well organized. You start at the local market and then go to their place where they show you around their garden and let you taste some ingredients. (And feed the turtles…omg) Everybody got to choose their own recipes they wanted to make out of some options. Our host was Maddie, who was really sweet and explained and showed everything very well. Afterwards we got a little book with all the recipes in it to try it at home :)

We were over the moon with our day today at Mama Noi’s half day cooking class with Fern! We each got to choose three different dishes to cook and ended the day making mango sticky rice and Thai iced tea. All of the dishes tasted amazing (and I am no cook) and it was really refreshing to see all the ingredients are grown on site. Special shout out to Fern who was really attentive, helpful and knowledgeable too. We left the kitchen having had a lot of fun, with a new understanding of Thai food and very full bellies. Me and my boyfriend would recommend this to anyone coming to Thailand no matter what skill level you have - thanks Mama Noi :)

This was absolutely a highlight of my time in Chiang Mai. The class was impeccably organized, and I loved how each person got to choose their own dishes to cook. Even though everybody was making different things, our guide Arm led everybody so seamlessly. He was very helpful and informative. I can’t recommend this experience enough!

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this experience! The company picked us up from our hotel and took us to a local market to learn about the ingredients that typically go into Thai dishes. We had a few minutes to sample snacks and make any purchases. From there, they drove us to the organic garden and cooking school.
The edible garden has really cute artwork and many of the ingredients we used for the cooking class. We also were able to feed long beans to the two tortoises that live there, which was very fun.
Our cooking teacher’s name is Blue and she was energetic, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We got to choose one of three stir fry’s, soups, and curries. We had a ton of fun and built up an appetite as we made curry paste by hand, and combined many of the ingredients. The cooking school made the experience seamless and worked like a well oiled machine so all ingredients and cooking equipment were ready to go exactly when we needed them. My boyfriend appreciated the option to make vegetarian versions of the recipe and we could also opt to add more or less ingredients to our taste which was fantastic! Mamanoi’s wonderful staff did a lot of tidying up so students wouldn’t have to worry about anything other than learning about the recipes.
After preparing and eating those three delicious courses, we learned how to make Thai iced tea and mango sticky rice. Both of these were also delicious very fun to make. After this, they offered to drive us back to our hotel or to another place of our choosing.
Overall, we highly recommend this experience!

**Revised Comments:**
The courses in this cooking class are really rich. They even took us to the market to buy fresh fruits and vegetables, which was a really fun experience. Each lesson arrangement is very organized, making the learning process active and interesting. Every cooking step is clearly explained and demonstrated, making the entire process flow very smoothly. The best part is that the food we make is not only delicious, but also functional.
