        Highlight
This is probably going to stand out as a highlight of my trip although I’m still in Thailand! Our guide was so knowledgeable and throughout the whole experience which begins with the cave (which is also a temple so ladies bring something suitable to wear, I didn’t but they give you something to cover up with thankfully) he pointed out different creatures living in the cave and all about the rock formations and the history, the fish there. Really really good! Lunch. Kayaking next which you get a really good tutorial in before you go sailing off and I’d never kayaked before and I managed it no problem so you’re definitely in good hands. 100% recommend this!

        Take the Adventure Route!
My daughters & I had an awesome day with our guide A! It was only the 3 of us, so we were lucky to have him all to ourselves! Unfortunately the hike to the highest summit is closed right now, but we still hiked 2.5 miles and A said the elevation gain is about 800 meters. Very steep in sections! We brought along temple appropriate clothing (covered legs & shoulders) and put those on over hiking clothes along the way so we could visit the 2 temples. (And put them right back in our backpacks after!) A also took us to a village where we enjoyed local coffee and guided us on another hiking trail to a waterfall. Highly recommend!

A wonderful day , firstly exploring the caves, our guide was friendly and informative, looking after our needs, the local lunch of Pad Thai delicious, followed up with the two hour kayak through the Ping River. We would highly recommend .

        Fun day out
Great opportunity to try proper downhill MTB. Definitely not for the faint of heart as its a steep and bumpy ride. Fun day out all round. Would be better if there were larger option bikes available; they all seemed to be M size so it was difficult to pedal uphill on the few occasions that was needed.

        Recommended Operator and Tour
I highly rate this adventure tour operator and this tour. Starting with a well prepared orientation for the day at their office we had a 90 minute drive north. As we are older participants they were attentive to our needs and let us ride in the pickup truck cab. The cave visit was memorable. Cave ecology and the caves history as a Burmese monastery were explained. bats, snakes and spiders pointed out (no danger to us). It is a long walk with some narrow or low or slippery passages. Lunch was very plain. I wish we had been told there is a selection at the restaurant besides Pad Thai. The kayaking portion was also memorable. Good orientation. River never too swift but we still managed to capsize once. Khun Jojo was right there to help, but still I got my phone wet (you are warned). On the way back Khun Jojo kindly took us to a phone repair shop where the phone surgeon declared my phone DOA.

Great fun for all the family
This was our second guided tour during our time in Chiang Mai and another cracker. We were collected by Jen (our very friendly guide) from our hotel in the Old Town and after a good briefing of how to control a single person kayak plus being fitted for our buoyancy jackets we were on our way. The minivan was comfortable with air conditioning and our first stop was the caving at Chiang Dao. We saw loads of bats inside the caves, huntsman spiders and crickets together with some spectacular stalagmites and stalactites. There were some narrow passages to fit through (nothing too claustrophobic) which was part of the fun and Jen provided us with some historical facts on our way. After the caving we were treated to a nice Pad Thai lunch then on to kayaking. This was great fun and well supervised. It was very much at an easy pace and no sign of white water which made the whole experience very relaxed. We kayaked through some beautiful areas, stopped halfway on a sandbank for a cooling swim and break and completed the river section in just over 2 hours. Overall a great tour - big thanks to Jen and his fellow guide for a fun and friendly time 🙏

        A bit boring
Pick up was as planned. The kayak trip itself is fairly boring, very little to see along the way. For an inexperienced kayaker this would be quite hard, it is over 1 hour long.

Great tour of DOI Mountain temples with a fantastic mountain bike descent on the road from the top… at least 20 minutes (15 km). Lunch of Pad Thai was good, too!

        Excellent tour worth every penny
Jo-Jo our guide was exceptional - he was fun informative and engaging, in the caves he showed us the different forms of geological formations and made it really interesting. He also held a very large spider and by being so calm allowed us to hold it too which seemed incredible. To me a complete arachnophobe. The kayaking was just right and our guides were bery helpful and involved, I guess some of the comments directed about the young woman on the trip seemed a bit “off” but I genuinely think It was an attempt to be funny not meaning to be offensive. And certainly not something that would lose a star. One point the whole day is quite tiring so note that it says a reasonable level of fitness is required - I went with the England over 50’s international football team. And they snoozed all the way home!😯

        Beautiful Scenery full of Surprises
This super exceeded our expectations. The wait in the morning for the kayaking lesson had to have been the only negative but is required. It's over an hour's drive to The Caves. It's beautiful, it is a temple, so ladies do have to cover up. There were a lot of self-exploration opportunities and it's a pretty slippery and dark space with some crawl spaces and neat temple items. Lunch is served after the cave - Pad Thai a short walk outside of the caves. The kayaking launch was only 15 or mins from the lunch spot. The guides did an awesome job with this! We loved the scenery and this was a highlight from our entire trip to Thailand.

        Great ride in Chiang Mai.
I had a fantastic day of riding with Bas-definitely was a challenge, but Bas was a capable and knowledgeable guide, and we had a blast! Although you are descending from a mountaintop, there are certainly some tough climbs as well. We had several short stops to admire the scenery and look at the foliage, but there was several hours of riding. We enjoyed a lakeside lunch, and then rode the 15kms into town and back to the shop.

Great tour! Nice to get out of the city. Fun kayak ride. :)
The caves were much bigger than expected! Very interesting. The 2 hour kayak ride was very enjoyable. Bring sunscreen! The trip out and back in the van was very comfortable (about 90 mins each way). Great time getting out of the city.

        Recommendable tour
I can really recomnend this tour. Our guide was very funny. The cave very interesting and big (we spent there approx. 1 hour). We also enjoyed the river kayaking suitable for beginners as you get a short introduction in advance. The only negative point here was that the group could have been smaller, as we had to make many stops to wait for the others.

Fantastic day, the guys who looked after us were amazing.! Needed a small Amount of first aid after a slight scrap in a cave. This was carried out in a very gentle professional manner. Think our kayak skills left a lot to be desired but they never lost patience. Smiling through out! Make sure you take swimming clothes and wet bag. Especially for your phones.

We booked route #1 (the 'Eagles route') which is advertised as being suitable for beginners. I was somewhat surprised when in the briefing the manager asked if we had done mountain biking before ( we had) and described it as 'quite difficult'. It did not seem suitable for beginners given how steep and rocky it was. The large covering of very dry leaves over hard ground made matters a lot worse. Even when applying the brakes it just carried on skidding down.Several of our group fell off, 1 with quite a serious injury. One lady just go off her bike and walked it down. Even the group doing the more advanced trails described the dry leaves as a big problem and quite dangerous. I guess it depends on the time of the year but i ended up feeling misled about what i had booked. Not exactly fun....I ended up cuts and bruises which impacted the quality of the rest of my holiday. Also, the guide's English was not the best. I had hoped to learn a lot more about the plants in the jungle or the Hmong people for example.Oh well....

Dear Reviewer Thank you for your feedback regarding your bike trip. Indeed adverse conditions such as rain or fallen leaves can make a mountain bike trip a lot more challenging. then one would expect. I commend you for your courage completing the course into the valley as rescue vehicles are at our disposal if it is necessary . In general having spend many years in the mountains biking, I always tell myself , "I am in the mountains and I happen to have a bike with me" Preferably I can ride the whole trail but its cool to walk too. We are never in a hurry and we group our riders by ability . It all comes together at the morning briefing at our base camp in Chiang mai where we confirm conditions and your trip with you together. With a wide verity of trails to choose from we ususally are able to place you on the right trip. Thank you for joining us on our daily adventures in the mountains and on the rivers. Happy Trails Aidan

Make sure you confirm where you going and what is in store. We spent over 1.5 hours at Hmong village that seemed really excessive, we were all bored. Additionally, going down hill on a paved winding road with scooters, tuk tusk and cars is not mountain biking. Rather just get a scooter if we were not going to trail ride.

      Buyer beware.

We provide a easy road ride down the mountain and a off road ride as well. Yes please read the itinerary as to avoid disapointments. Having said that we struggled with the National Park to open all of our rides, right after the country opened from COVID. Happily Its all back to the regular schedulle again.

This is anything but a beginner run. Going to the top of the hill the guide said we would do pavement going down hill but after 100 meters it turned into dirt ruts covered in slippery leaves and very steep. I’ve ridden lots of trails and this is a 4 out of 5.

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for sharing your recent off-road ride experience with us. We apologize that the ride did not meet your expectations and was too challenging for you or your partner. At our company, we prioritize our guests' safety and satisfaction and strive to provide clear and accurate information about our rides. We understand that we may not have been clear enough about the trail conditions during the pre-trip briefing, which is why we spend time at the shop prior to the trip doing a "Google Earth" briefing. We regret any confusion that may have arisen regarding the difficulty level of the trail you rode. It seems there may have been a misunderstanding when booking the ride, which resulted in you being placed on the off-road ride. Our Trip #1 Eagles route is advertised as an off-road ride and is considered a beginner ride among mountain bikers. However, we also offer a leisurely "float" ride, Trip #9 "Above Chiang Mai," which is entirely on paved roads, including a downhill route through Doi Suthep National Park from the same starting point, Doi Pui Summit. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Best regards, Aidan

This was a fun day if you can ride a mountain bike on gravel trails. It's mostly downhill except for one 400m significant uphill. Bike is good and safety gear was adequate. Lunch good, bring your own electrolyte drink and snacks for energy.

I did 5 different trails with theese guys and they where all quite fun...

Route 1 is an easy scenic route mostly on dualtrack dirt road, where you get a feal of the bike and see a bit of the nature around the mountain.

Trail 4C old is a realy tecnical single trail downhill ride with many roots, stones and drops where you will get tested.. but its good fun and the guidesm are great.

Trail 4C New is also technical but more flowing and with some quite fast sections but also some steep drops and knarly roots etc.

Trail 4x The fastest track we ran, single track all the way with jumps and realy smooth lines with very few technical steep sections on the way.

Trail 4b Also a fast fun trail with many jumps and good flow.

All in all i am sure i will come back and ride wth theese guys again :)

Our group had a great day riding with Chiang Mai mountain biking. The staff was great, the equipment was good too. And the ride itself was a great experience. We rode in trucks to the top of the hill, then descended 1500 meters to the bottom, along a combination of paved roads, dirt roads and single track. All of it was very doable for our mixed skill group. A SAG truck followed to help when needed. 26 students and instructors had a great time.

This trip was really good! We took the downhill trip tour 1 because it was our first time. But it was just the two of us in that group and the guide we said did we did quite well so we did a little of single track as well. It was quite hard though but is was a real great experience. Our guide was very friendly and told us a lot about the area around us. He took good care of us and teach us a few tricks on how to handle our bike.
At the end of the trip there was a nice lunch waiting for us with a beautiful view on the mountain where we just biked.
It was such a nice day, one to always remember!

We were really looking forward to the day and it did not disappoint! Our guide was hilarious and straight away picked up on names and made nick names for you if he didn't know it!

There were 3 groups out at the same time but we were in group 1 (easiest course) with the funny guide.

He made us feel very comfortable from the beginning but it was incredibly difficult to start with. After a shorter ride to the coffee shop the guide had noticed that me and my sister needed help with the techniques so he made us follow him. I was so glad he did as we really enjoyed it and others in the group fell off a few times but we didn't!! A few others joined us through choice and even commented on our better technique than them as we had been taught by him how to do it properly, the others just freestyled! Nearer the end we all joined the main group as our confidence had grown.

This was the easiest bike ride route but it was really difficult! We would recommend it for fit individuals who are very confident on a bike. 80% of the course was downhill with most of it on really uneven ground. It was slippery and it hadn't even rained so I dread to think what it would be like if it had!!

Although we did find it really difficult, we had an awesome time. It was exhilarating and felt like quite an achievement.

It was a long way and our backsides now hurt but the reward was a beautiful lunch at the lake.

I have given it 5* because I had specific help from a guide but I'm not sure if others who did not get the same help would agree.

I had a great time wight these guys. I was the only person on my ride so had a great time with Jen. We stopped at some farms and ate fresh from the tree lychees and peaches. At the end we rode straight into the lake and ate a delicious meal. Definitely recommend it for anyone that wants to ride in some beautiful mountains.

My girlfriend and I wanted to explore Doi Suthep National Park through mountain biking. So as we were looking around, we found Chiang Mai Mountain Biking and Kayaks. The website for this place was really good and the video sold us. So we decided to try the trip #2 ("The Highlands Route").

On the website, it said that this trail (#2) was for "motivated beginners to experts." Let me tell you that this was no trail for "motivated beginners." After playing sports all my life, I feel like I am in good shape. But this mountain bike trail really kicked my butt. It was a lot of hiking with the bike because some of the hills were so steep (both up and down) that it was nearly impossible to use the bike. Also, many of the trails were in poor condition. If you want to do this trail, I would advise being at least an intermediate or advance rider.

Other than this, I thought the staff was overall friendly. Some of the views were amazing and the lunch on the lake was really good. Just a food for thought.
