    Nice trip, good views
We had an evening on the mid trip at the end of our holiday. It was pleasant enough with the views from the river if the skyline nice. The food was ok, there was certainly plenty of it. As you would expect with such a large buffet meal, there were time where certain foods ran out but the staff worked to replenish it quickly and guests could go up as many times as they liked. The buffet was busy and felt at times like a bit of a scrum. The tour itself was pleasant and delivered what it said it would, my personal choice of doing this in the future would be to look out for a smaller boat that may have felt less busy / chaotic at times. Get to the pier well in advance, we got off the sky train 50 minutes before expecting the shuttle boat to only take 10 minutes but a 30 minute wait made us very late which led to a frantic arrival (not the companies fault). The pier prior to boarding is VERY busy.

Meridian Dinner Cruise, 2 hours of spectacular dining, sightseeing & live singing & dancing along the Chao Phraya River
After the world has re-opened from Covid-19 lockdowns, me and my family were able to visit again one of our favourite cities in the world - Bangkok. Since I’ve tried once experiencing a Dnner Cruise along the Chao Phraya river together with my Grandma around 2014 before her 80th Bday, the good memories of that trip was etched in my hearts and minds. So being said that, I told myself to bring my parents, sister and nephew this time. And off we did, we booked another company from my last trip 8 years back and was looking for a very affordable price for the same experience and we found Meridian Dinner Cruise. I loved its White, Elegant, Slender, Luxurious and very Modern Cruise ship from the photos and the timing seems perfect for us as well. We booked the ticket via Agoda for about 30 SGD++ for adults and 20++ SGD for my nephew at 19:30 in front of Icon Siam pier which will run for 2 hours of unlimited buffet food and drinks, live entertainment and picturesque sceneries and historic buildings of Thailand along the Chao Phraya river which include the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and the newest landmark of the river and the country’s biggest mall - Icon Siam. We arrived quite early 30 mins before our departure thinking we are already late because we have to walk from behind Icon Siam to the river. It was a very busy, vivid and packed night outside Icon Siam with a colorul and whimsical fountain show, outdoor activities especially for kids, dazzling lights and displays and tons of people either watching the fountain show, just walking around and those who are waiting for their cruise ships. We exchanged our online vouchers for the tickets stipulated on the instructions at the Icon Siam Pier2 Meridian Cruis Counter. After witnessing 3 to 4 cruise ships boarding and departing before us and in fact it seems ours is the last to arrive. Yes we departed 30 mins behind and really hungry with a toddler in tow who is very sleepy already. Note to Meridian to please be on time especially when we try yours again next time. Despite the late departure we were really, really excited to board. We took our lovely shots and videos as we go along and enter the ship. After you exchange your voucher, you will be assigned a seat so you will have to find if not ask the crew to assist you. Boarding wss fast, smooth and easy. We were assigned a seat on the upper deck area where the show is happening beside the railing which is one of the best seat out there for a group of 5 people. Thanks for this Meridian for giving us the best sit outdoors and beside the railing where you would have an impeccable view of the river and its surroundings at the same time also the interior of the ship. The inside is very organized, clean, spacious, beautiful and very colorful. There is upper deck outdoor seating and lower deck indoor seating which is airconditioned. It wasn’t hot and humid that night instead its very refreshing with a breathe of the river’s fresh air so outdoor for us is perfect. But some people loved to sit indoors with controlled ventilation or if the ship is fully booked you don’t have a choice. That night seemed not fully booked so we didn’t see the lower deck fully occupied. One thing that took my attention and stood out is their very elegant and posh dining table and chairs. Our table is wrapped in clean White table clothe with Grey placemates and a charming romantic candle lamps and a flower vase. We were seated on a Golden brown classy cushioned chairs - truly a 5 star fine dining experience indeed!!! To top it all off - our tableware was wrapped in plastic which is very hygienic and they already served us cold water and fresh tamarind juice if I’m not mistaken truly refreshing!!! We felt like a VIP, relaxed, comfortable and special for a very affordable price nothing could get better than this. At the center of it all is the long and wide Buffet table serving 16 different types of main dishes on a neatly placed Silver service 8 on each row. We were so hungry that night that right after we were ushered to our seats we went to the Buffet table right away which is already open and ready to serve. I couldn’t remember the exact dishes served during our time but I could remember there’s tons of variety on it which include Western food like Italian/French, Asian like Japanese/Chinese and of course Thai. What I could remember are the ones we took like Spaghetti with Tomato sauce, Beef Bourguignon, Grilled Shrimp and Mussels, Sashimi, Sushi, Pad Thai, Fried Rice, Teriyaki chicken, Sauteed Vegetables and Potato Salad. The mains also serve Vegetarian options for veg customers. There are also separate smaller table for Desert, Fruits, Roast Pork/Beef, Soup, Sushi/Sashimi and Appetizers like Salad. We also took a bunch of fresh fruits and deserts like Brownies, Cream Puffs and small cake slices. The food is quite tasty, delicious and satisfying. I especially loved the Beef Bourguignon which is so tender, juicy and very yummy - not all buffet served French food and this is quite pricey on a typical French restau so I took it right away. The Grilled Shrimp is fresh, juice, tender and fatty which really fills your stomach. So those 2 are my top favourite. Sushi is also fresh and tasty and the Sashimi is very fresh and tender. The fruits are perfectly riped and served fresh. And finally the Desert were just the right amount of size, tasty, fluffy, creamy and light - just the right amount of sweetness in it which is perfect to cap off your amazing and satisfying dinner. We decided not to buy alcoholic drinks since we are satisfied with what we have which is included in our ticket. It’s a self-service buffet dinner but the staff are plentiful and ready to assist you at any time. They also roam around the dining area ready to clean your used tableware and leftovers. They also check for water and fruit juice refilling all the time which we really admire. Whilst your having dinner, the band consist of Filipino talents will play non-stop for 2 hours both with their carefully curated songs from different countries and your requests. Me and my father requested 2 songs - I had the Olivia Newton John classic ‘Let Me Be There’ and my Pa a Visayan Filipino song - ‘Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko’, which means Sing it and I will Dance. Truly wonderful, incredible and talented Filipino band in here - Duo Music headed by the Lead Guy Singer and main Lady vocalist who are both very talented and fantastic. To request a song you can leave a note in a white paper and give it to them in front of the stage. I was truly delighted and surprisd that they both catered to our requests specally for a classic Olivia and a Tagalog song which much to our amazement they played last, the finale song before we took off the boat. My father was really happy and thrilled to experience this first hand much more it was also his pre-Bday treat from us!!! Kudos to this Meridian and keep playing the best band out there!!! :=) There is also a traditional Thai dance with lovely Thai dancers in their traditional bejewelled colorful Thai clothes called Suea Pai adorned with large bling Fans gracefully and classically dancing in the middle of the dining area - not sure if its Thai or Chinese in my opinion but it was a beautiful dance performance truly adorable. Whilst having dinner, watching the band and dance, and there’s even a group of Ladies from Indonesia who were celebrating a Bday dinner dancing on the floor, having small talks, enjoying ourselves, taking time to eat and taking those lovely and special photos and videos we were also greeted and embraced by the magnificent Temples, Palaces, Icons, Buildings and Bridges that span the Mighty and Grand Chao Phraya River. Perhaps for me this is my favourite river in the world, one of the biggest, widest, and mightiest yet it exhudes this charm and beauty whenever I see it. We get to see the lit temples, palaces, buildings, bridges and monuments along the way in those bright Orange/Yellow colours. There was the iconic Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn, the elegant Grand Palace, the iconic Icon SIam - Bangkok’s talk of the town and the enigmatic Rama VIII bridge which we crossed under on our way back to the pier. The night was cool, calm, breezy and bright and the waves were just perfect not too big and we didn’t feel dizzy at all whilst riding the boat. The ride will make a u-turn from Rama VIII bridge so you would have both views of each side of the river. I was seated on the Icon Siam side when we made our way and the opposite side when we came back. As we made our way back to Pier 2 of Icon Siam the clouds have started to condense bringing some drizzles and light rain but it was the perfect way to cap our amazing, magical, romantic and memorable dinner cruise as a family and finally I got to bring my Parents to witness and experience this one of a kind cruise ship experience on a mighty and beautiful river that is called Chao Phraya. And what’s more my nephew enjoyed his time as well even though its already his sleeping time :=) Kudos to our wonderful and special trip Meridian we will surely be back again given time permits and perhaps celebrate another special occasion when we return. Keep up the Excellent work and See you soon!!! Kapkunkap!!! :=)

    Beautiful city views. Must visit.
River Cruise on beautiful Chao Phraya river is a must do activity in Bangkok. We took Meridian cruise since it had Indian food options in its buffet. Seating was on two floors. The top floor does not have non aircon and open area to stand and taking photos. The bottom floor has aircon. But the seating is fixed before you enter the boat. We were seated on the bottom floor but went up for photographs and views. The night view of the city is the key highlight of the cruise.

Awful, again, of my own doing.
Sadly, I booked the wrong date, and we missed the cruise! We arrived a day late; unfortunately, the cruise was full. They offered us passage the next day for an up charge of an extra B200, which is reasonable; however, our travel already had us at our next destination. The mistake was totally mine. I called Oh-Hoo, the local tour operator, for help. I began the call with a calm and clear admission of my mistake. The operator then launched! He screamed at me - "Why did you not tell me you would miss the cruise?" He repeated the question several times. I met his intensity and insisted that he stop and listen. I proceeded to remind him that I started the conversation with a full acknowledgment of my mistake and that I did not blame him at any time in the short call. I only asked for help and for the possibility of rebooking. Maybe it was a language barrier, and certainly a cultural one. He assumed that I was attacking him and would not help me. I cannot give Oh-Hoo a strong enough condemnation. If you can avoid bookings with them, please do so. T.A. I ask that you find another operator that can offer respectful customer service in the future.

    May not visit it again
The ticket puchase was easy from klook. We wanted to reserve a table (indoor) because we have 2 years old toddler who loves to walk around. The customer service staff at the counter told us to just inform the staff on board. When we arrived and wanted to request, the staff reluctant to listen and insist for us to go up (outdoor sitting area). When we tried to explain, they shut us up and demanded us to proceed upstair. The lady staff, i didnt see her name. You need to learn to speak politely. We didn't come for free. We paid for the service.

    Boat buffet
Would not class this as a sightseeing tour. Food was okay, some of it a bit cold. Entertainment- singers good but the system made loud noises. Very loud on the boat.

Wasn't perfect but would definitely cruise again on the Meridian
The day we had this dinner cruise booked, it was totally raining. Wasn't sure if the cruise would still happen so I asked the front desk at my hotel and they said the dinner cruises would still happen even if it was raining. The bottom level of the ship is enclosed and the top is pretty much sheltered from the rain. Seating is assigned so you cannot sit anywhere you want. We were assigned to the lower level with our table right in front of the A/C. Sounds like heaven when it's super hot outside but I felt like a popsicle. It was freezing cold and I didn't have a jacket. There were some kids at the table next to us and the parents asked for a tablecloth for the kids to wrap around themselves. Maybe an hour into the trip, one of the workers on the cruise turned the temp up a little bit but it was still super cold. However, we decided to go up to the top level to check it out and they were the complete opposite. It was hot and kinda musty upstairs with no A/C. The top level is open in the back so it would be impossible to run A/C and fans would probably just blow hot air around. So word of advice, bring a jacket just in case you are assigned to sit on the lower level. Because it was raining, the windows downstairs were covered in raindrops and making it impossible to look out and see the view. I wanted to go on this dinner cruise so we could see all the temples lit up at night but we couldn't see anything. They also have these great singers performing throughout the cruise and it would have been nice if they had given a heads-up when we were approaching the temples so we could try to see them. The food was pretty good. There was a good variety. However, it is a buffet, but not all you can eat. Our table was next to a group of about 12 of the rowdiest, semi-drunk group. It was pretty annoying. They were SO loud and practically screaming while people were performing which I thought was so rude. When it was time to get food, they jumped up right away and I swear their group seemed to have taken most of the food. My family was closer to the end of the line and a lot of the food was almost all gone. I want to say maybe they might have replenished the trays once. Overall, we still had a great time. If the annoying group next to us wasn't there, I would rate this very high.

Well worth a look - Watch for the scam.
Expecting to be delivered to a tourist focused excursion I was pleasantly surprised by the realness of both the Train market and the floating market. The fresh market along the railway was very good and by no means a display for the tourists. Our experience at the flower market was similar, riverside trading, paddle boat ride and surrounding tourist market were all of a high standard. Buy souvenirs, a coconut pancake, plate of fresh fruit or a beer as you drift along the canals. Paddle boat pricing can be negotiated and is better once you move away from the carpark. As a couple through a tourist office on Khaosan road we arranged a private driver to take us to both (750BHT pp). The drive time is at least 90 minutes each way in reasonable traffic. Everything was good until we got to a carpark ~ 3km from the Damnoen Saduak floating market where the boat guys wanted another 4000 BHT to take us to the market, more if you wanted to see the Elephants as well. It took us the next 15mins and google maps to convince our driver to take us to the floating market carpark where entrance is free and the only additional cost is incurred if you want to get in a paddle boat. For this we paid 300BHT for both of us.

Good experience but will not do it twice
It’s really crowded and be there for taking photos with a train. It’s really far from bangkok, not worth your time. I rather to spend my time seeing beaches and hiking.

Fun night out with family & friends
They arranged the trip well, Boarding, entertaining & dinner (quite many choices of food, dessert), good service - however the seafood (shrimp) wasn’t that fresh. Overall it was fun & worth the money. Just in case you are stay a bit away from ICONSIAM, make sure you come there a bit early to avoid traffic because the boat leaves at 7.45pm.

It was my first time visiting Thailand, especially Bangkok and its tourism destination. Dinner on Alangka Cruise was such priceless experience for me and my friend. We're spending the night enjoying the view of Chao Praya River with nice and delicious choices of Buffet Dinner.
I think I'll try this kind of Dinner Cruise on my next vacation.

Was totally disappointed, the boat was so packed with people you couldn’t move. The food was cold and ran out before you could get through the lines. Just a horrible experience.
