About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- G9586ZKmarkm0 contributionsThis is a must do if you have any interest in WW2 and the ordeals of the PoWs and the local populations. This was a long day but well worth it. We saved on a few other parts of this holiday so that we could afford this day out, and have no regrets in spending the extra on a private tour. Our guide was reasonably knowledgable, and left us to our own devices when appropriate - if you're after a step-by-step explanation of every part of the day then maybe this particular tour is not for you, but it worked for us. The absolute hightlght is Hellfire Pass, and the work that the Australian government have done here is amazing.Written August 26, 2024

- deborahgX607MZ0 contributionsRiver Kwai visitGreat day abs well worth a visit. It’s a lot if travelling from Bangkok to the locations but it was something we wanted to do. We was not disappointed and Peter our guide and our driver were great company for the full day (12 hours in total) The good thing is …you can catch up on some sleep during travelling time as the transportation is very comfortable and coolWritten March 5, 2024
- seangX7483TY0 contributionsPrivate Tour: River Kwai, Erawan waterfalls, Hellfire Pass & Death RailwayA memorable day trip. Erawan National Park and waterfalls were especially beautiful. Our guide, Daranee, went above and beyond to accommodate our interests. She even arranged a gluten free lunch at a restaurant near the waterfalls and our bus driver had an ice bin full of water bottles, welcome after walks to the waterfalls and Hellfire Pass. A lovely end to our holiday in Thailand.Written January 28, 2024

- rowenal9310 contributionsAmazing experienceWe had an amazing experience with the elephants. Everything was very laid back and we went with what the elephants wanted. The elephants and their carers obviously have a mutual respect and our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. He always made sure our daughter was safe and able to join in. An unforgettable experience. It was so fun.Written August 22, 2023
- R7962ILbrians0 contributionsAmazing ExperienceThis was an amazing experience. My driver was on time and worked hard to make sure I was comfortable for the whole trip. He even bought me a tasty snack to try on the way. The guides at the elephant sanctuary were all really nice, especially the lead gentleman, Patrick. It was a beautiful experience with the animals. I had lots of close up time to feed, play and wash the elephants and they were wonderful to be around. Very gentle and majestic animals.Written August 15, 2023

Awesome tour. No hassle and berry accommodating. Prakob was our tour guide and he was amazing. Great communication and patience and knows all the awesome spots for memories that last forever. This tour was definitely worth it and allowed us to maximize our experience with no worries about finding reliable rides or being taken advantage of. I definitely recommend this tour and if you are lucky you will get Prakob. The waterfalls were a sight out of this world and feeding and bathing the elephants was priceless. You can tell that they are well taken care of and are living happy lives. A+!

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand. There were only 2 of us on this tour. It involved a long drive from Bangkok (3 hours each way) however it was well worth it. Our guide (Peter) worked very hard making sure we were comfortable and keeping us informed. He also took photos for us (A LOT of photos) at times when we were immersed in the experience so we could enjoy the activities. The trip involved a journey to the Erawan National park. We swam in the opalescent waters beneath a waterfall. Everyone wore life vests as a safety measure. The waters had fish which nibbled at our feet which freaked us out at first, but once we learnt they were harmless the experience was more ticklish than anything else.
We then went for lunch (a buffet of Thai dishes) at a local restaurant. Then it was off to the elephant haven. Without a doubt this was the highlight of the trip for us. We prepared food for the elephants (under instruction). We then fed the elephants allowing the elephants to grab the food out of our hands with their trunks. We then were taken to the river where we washed an elephant (with brushes). The elephant then returned the favour and showered us with water from the river, with her trunk as an act of reciprocity. We were given soap and shampoo to shower afterwards.
We then went to the Death Railroad (built by POWs in WWII). We went first to the railroad by the Buddha cave, and then ended the tour with a visit to the Bridge over the River Kwai.
All aspects of this trip were worthwhile but the standout part was, for us, the elephants.

This was such an amazing experience! Our guides were friendly, caring, spoke great English and really took their time with us on this day trip. Love that they pick you up from your hotel and take care of every stop and back to your place. Lots of great information about the Erawan Waterfalls and the Death Railway. You hike to the 7 different levels of waterfalls so bring your tennis/hiking shoes! Nice medium hike and you can swim in 3 of the 7 falls to cool off. They had planned a lunch after our hike at the bottom with such authentic Thai food! Was soooooo good! Love that the guide was mindful to ask us of any food allergies or our spice level to ensure we would enjoy. We then got to view the Death Railway and then stopped at the Elephant Sanctuary. Loved this! Elephants are treated very humanly and get to roam when they are not being cared for or fed. You get to make elephant sushi balls, dice up some watermelon and hand feed them. Then you get to wash them which was an endearing and wholesome experience. DO this INSTEAD of picking a place to ride elephants that don't treat them well at those places. Bring a change of clothes or use their robes;) Would do this again!

The trip was outstanding and better than expected. Our guide “Guitar” was great. Not only did he handle all tour matters but took photos and video for us and sent them to us after the trip. He was very knowledgeable of all areas visited and the areas we drove through in the trip. We were picked up in a luxury modified van with air conditioning and reclining leather seats. In addition to our guide Guitar, we also had a driver. We visited all of the sites mentioned in the trip decription and we were very pleased with the entire tour and would highly recommend it to those visiting Bangkok!!

The best day! Super organised, eventful day. I initially thought the 12 hour day with so much driving would be difficult however, the itinerary was so well planned that the driving in between destinations was barely noticeable.
Our guide Ya, cared for myself and my daughter beautifully, even providing personal wipes for the toilet stops. We could not have completed this journey without her, she was so diligent and gently guided us with appropriate tipping protocol (tip the elephant attendants well as they take the best photos and videos for you on your phone which you will appreciate, they will capture the best moments. One of the highlights of the day (there were many) was using my new phase Ya taught me to say that my daughter cannot have cows milk. It was awesome to say this correctly and have the local people understand instantly and completely. Thank you Ya, this will aid my daughter and I for a long time.
The sites were all incredible, a genuine mix of history, nature and wildlife. Elephants were definitely the highlight, just experienced so much joy. We could not stop smiling, I would do this trip just for this experience alone.
The waterfalls were incredible, take thongs for the walking paths unless you have tough feet. Just a hint, if you don’t want your feet exfoliated by the tiny fish in each pool (they don’t hurt, it just feels weird), wear long socks. You may look ridiculous but not as ridiculous as jumping around like an idiot when they take their first nibble.
Overall, I absolutely recommend this tour and Ya as your guide. Enjoy the journey.

A long day, but good one. Our guide and driver were fantastic and the guide very knowledgeable. Be aware that a fair bit of the day is spent in the vehicle,, so stops at the Bridge, the railway and other attractions are necessarily short. The waterfalls are stunning and we enjoyed our walk and swim there. The elephant sanctuary was a highlight, and lots of fun; be prepared to get wet!!! Lunch at a local, family restaurant is included and was tasty.

Upside :
Amazing guide (Ying) and driver
Beautiful waterfall
Informative
Beautiful elephants
Loved the antics of the elephant when left to her own devices.
Downside :
Elephants were made to ‘perform’ for us until I specifically stopped it. Everything was made as a photo opportunity, which was disrespectful to the intelligent pachyderms.
Suggestion : There’s no need to ask elephants to ‘say hello’, ‘pose for us’ etc. It negates their care at a ‘sanctuary’
We were happy just to watch and feed them.
Only saw two elephants.
The drive two and fro was nearly 6 hours. This should be mentioned in the itinerary before booking.

Didn’t go. Received two confirmation emails advising us of pick up time of 6.30am. Woke up early and excited and waiting for car. After 30mins, contacted company to be advised they had cancelled our booking. No reasons given, just told to check the website. When asked if they had anyone available they said they were booked out. I guess that was the reason. Double checked and never received an email to advise they cancelled the booking the day before. Now I have to chase the bank to get a refund of over $500usd for a 3 person booking. Will also be leaving BKK in 2 days so won’t get a chance to see it. Absolutely shocking. Don’t bother with these people.

Prakob was a wonderful guide and the highlight of the day was definitely the hike up erawan falls. Bring a towel bc they have shower rooms at the bottom to change after a swim. The trip to/from Bangkok took about 3 hours each way so be prepared for that. The elephant park was my least favorite bc the elephants are clearly trained to cater to tourists for photo opportunities. They seemed to be more interested in the business of tourism there than providing a sanctuary for animals. It was more like a zoo with trained elephants to do tricks. But the cave temple at Burma railway was very cool. Overall it was a fantastic outing and customer service with my guide and chauffeur was top notch.

We did the tour during our honeymoon. We did not get too lucky with a tour guide but more on that below.
We had a very polite and nice driver. The locations and what we saw on the trip was spectacular, I would highly recommend to go see it. Make sure to walk all the way to 7th level of Erewan falls, the last fall is the most beautiful to swim in (btw. No need to take the life jackets…) The elephant sanctuary was amazing - an absolute highlight.
As mentioned in the beginning, we unfortunately didn’t get a very good guide but when we contacted the travel agency about it, they were so understanding and repaid the majority of the trip to compensate - very strong customer service showing they care deeply about their customers. I recommend them for your trip for sure. Must day trip to do when in Bangkok ☺️

If there are any solo travelers who want to do this tour (with this specific tour guide) who’d like to split with me (min is 2 people so I’m paying for 2 people’s worth as is), reply and we can work something out.
