    Overpriced and boring
Very overpriced and not worth the taxi ride from Bangkok. Nothing to be found in this market that you cannot find anywhere else, you are just on the water and very uncomfortable. Good taxi there and back for 700bht 3500bht per person for 2.5 hour boat ride. Nothing that I can recommend

    Unfloating trap
This market should have been interesting decades ago. Nowadays is a tourist trap!!! The only thing that floats there are the boats, some weeds and some plastic stuff. Hundreds of shops selling overpriced items and food, none of them floating. Keep away from it, unless you love noisy engines blowing soot and smoke on your face (I was almost hit by the exhaust pipe of one of them), the boats clashing each other along the narrow channel.

Totally a tourist trap. The entrance fee is none but the boat supposed to charge 2000 Baht for up to 6 people yet we were charged 100$ USD cash. What a rip off!!!!!

Too crowded! Overpriced items! Don't recommend!
The market is more than 150 years old and still retains the original teak wood structure. However it was overcrowded with tourists, our boats clashing each other in the channels, loud motor boats which were letting out unpleasant smoke/fumes and souvenirs sold at exorbitant prices. Was quoted 850 baht for a wooden dragon fly hanging which we bargained and bought at 200 baht. Our tour guide told us not to buy anything without bargaining the price down by 80%. It would’ve been a better experience for tourists if the items were sold at a reasonable cost like in the other markets and vendors would get more sales. We had yummy coconut ice cream and mango sticky rice which our guide got us from a lovely lady selling from her boat. We stopped at a shop selling puppets and masks but decided not to buy anything after a closer inspection because we didn’t think it was worth the price quoted. A really nasty vendor selling paintings opposite this shop started yelling at us and called us cheap for not buying those overpriced items after looking at them. With such attitude I wonder if anyone would want to go back again. Couldn’t wait to get out of there after that. That person was enough to spoil the whole experience for us. I had read reviews from tourists not recommending this market and should’ve followed their advice. There are other genuine floating markets visited by locals which are way better. Don’t recommend this one at all!

    Bad idea. Faux floating market.
It’s not a floating market. An irrigation canal lined with expensive curio and other shops. Bad idea waste of 800 THB per person for the boat ride

    Scam - overpriced!!!!
Very expensive! Charged 4000 for two on a boat for 1hr! We think we might have been scammed! It was interesting for the first 20 mins then became a repeat of cheap tat stalls! Definitely work haggling with the boat operators! Would we recommend - probably not to be honest as it’s overpriced and a scam!

Ever experienced a waterborne traffic jam? We hadn’t before either, if nothing else great experience and bit of a laugh
Having seen the mixed reviews all I would say is regardless of the prices, and the content of the stalls give it a go and enjoy the chaos, we certainly haven’t experience anything like this before. We took a speed boat ride from a nearby market which was amazing and jumped on a paddle boat for a once round the market. You can even do it with a bottle of Chang in your hand.

Observed animal abuse, non-delivery of purchased activities. Do not make the same mistake!
Highly disappointing. We were told our options about stops we could choose and the related cost. We specifically told them that we were not interested in riding an elephant or posing with tigers due to ethical concerns with these practices. We chose four specific stops in addition to the standard shopping options that are included for everyone. Our boat operator did not speak English and we do not speak Thai so our ability to communicate was compromised. There were very few shopping option for the first approximately 20 minutes of our three hour ride. We stopped at two shops and looked from the boat. The driver did not stop at the area that had multiple shops that we could walk around at. The majority of the ride was along the canal that had a few homes and a lot of trees. We stopped at the temple and our boat driver said we had “5 minutes” to explore, which was insufficient. He then took us to a stop that had elephant rides. We told the staff that we specifically had declined this stop and were told that we could buy bananas to feed to the elephants. We did this and found that the adult elephant was chained to the ground and could not move. This abuse was heartbreaking to see. We were then dropped off at the end. We did not see three of the four stops/activities that we requested. The canal water was filthy and there was a large amount of floating trash along the entire ride. This was an expensive activity and felt like a tourist trap/scam.

    Floating Market review
This floating Market Tour was a ripped off , our rented van driver brought us to this Donmoen floating market and when we arrived. Some Thai girls offered us for the boat rental of 4k bht for the 3 of us my wife and daughter however as I am reluctant due to its excessive pricing and to go ahead they lowered the price to 2500k instead of which I agreed. While on our way the boats man stop us by to some shops of which he will tell you that the shopkeeper is his wife, another stop his mother , another stop , sister and so on. As I'm not really familiar of product prices ,they will let you buy. Scarf which priced at 600 bht which will only cost outside for only 80bht we found out afterwards😄😄and also they will take pictures of you while you are about to embark on to your rented boat and after the tour they will bring you to a counter with your picture pasted on the frame and they will let you buy it , don't fall into this trap as it will cost you 300 bht each frame. The food is fine and the price is ok as we dine in one of the restaurant long the way by the river.over all the place is not really an attractive place to see except that it's real purpose is just to lure tourist for their money to spend.Thailnd though is a beautiful place , the people are friendly in general , I love Thailand scenic rural places .I'll come back but never to the floating market .

Warning Warning stay away from Taxi Drivers offering this place.
Warning Beware of taxi drivers outside your hotel telling you they will take you here, its pressure selling scam. We initially just wanted to visit the temples but after constant insistence by the taxi driver we gave in thinking this was a short trip WRONG! it was 1 half hours away approx 80km from Bangkok city centre. When we got to the place there was no other people except the staff so it was a bit creepy, anyway they sat us down and a man with a calculator asked us what we wanted to see he then showed us a price list 7,500baht each my jaw dropped after they saw us react he then said ok 5,000baht we still said no too much, they again dropped it 2,800 baht each, at this point the guy started getting aggressive and stood up I said no we don’t want any of these and we only planned to see the floating market not pay and ride any boats. The man and the taxi driver started pressuring us saying you come very far just take the ride, we still insisted no and told the taxi driver to take us back to Bangkok, realising we are far away and had no idea where he took us I decided to stay calm and let him drive us back to one of the malls and parted ways. Lesson learned don’t be so trusting with the local taxi drivers, also beware of old taxi’s and old drivers they can barely understand any english, an old driver we took from one of the malls became really aggressive and angry at us when he got lost and was banging the steering wheel of his taxi that was falling apart. I had to direct him to the way back to our hotel. AGAIN STAY AWAY FROM THIS MARKET AREA ITS A SCAM!

Fun morning but may not be for everyone
So this isn’t for everyone and I’ve read the reviews but still decided I wanted to see it myself. A friend hired a car for the day and this trip took the entire morning. About 1.5hrs out of Bangkok with some traffic and then about an hour on the boat cruising in the canals and shopping. Then 1.5 hrs back. I enjoyed it. It was a beautiful day, there was a breeze on the water, no crowds and we got to see all the markets that sell all the same tchotchkes. You have to haggle hard. And the boat driver clearly had favorite stands he worked with but soon he knew what we were looking for so started to help us by yelling to the sellers. Technically you’re the one floating not the markets as they’re all on fixed platforms. There are some where you can pull over and get out and walk around the market so don’t forget to do that as well. We didn’t go for the whole big tour they try to sell you. That would’ve taken 3 hours. I only wanted to see the markets so you can negotiate with them. My friend didn’t think it was worth it! If you’re not in a rush and as with everything, you don’t have high expectations, it’s a nice thing to do. I liked the experience.

    Scammers everywhere
Totally agree with the previous two reviews. A BIG mistake to take a transfer to the floating market offered from a scammer waiting at the exit of the Gran palace, The transfer will cost you only 1000 bahts and leaves you at another scammer boat station, who will tell you that this is the only way to get to the floating market, by renting one of his trips for starting price 1500 bahts per person. There were just few boats with food, many stalls with prices x 5 compared to any other market. We were not allowed to get out of the boat at the floating market itself. Total waste of the time and money.

Khao Yai National Park was absolutely breathtaking! We drove from Bangkok, stayed at The Frog, a cosy and lovely accommodation located in Mu Si, Pak Chong. Todo en The Frog es perfecto😁
