Many are unaware of China's centuries-long influence on Thailand that has permeated much of Thai cuisine. From noodles to stir fries, it's time to feast on the history of this culinary marriage. In small groups of up to 8 exclusive guests, our passionate foodie guides take you on a journey around the alleyways of Yaowarat, Bangkok's Chinatown. We don't want to spoil the surprises, but prepare to drool over crispy chive dumplings with nam jim jaew sauce, mop up rich satay with charcoal-grilled chicken, work chopsticks over slow-braised pork, and delve into fragrant steamy bowls of shrimp dumplings and tum yum goong seafood soup, along with a dozen more lip-smackingly good tastings at places you'd struggle to find alone.

      Well worth it!
Fantastic experience. The tour guide (Nini- not sure of spelling) was knowledgeable, engaging, entertaining and truly provided an unforgettable gastronomic experience. Well worth the time and cost….please don’t forget to tip. These guides depend on it for their livelihood. It’s just coffee money for us.

      Perfect authentic food tour
The Old Siam tour was just perfect, we tried so many things we probably wouldn't have tried by ourselves, some of which you may not even find at touristy markets (no Pad Thai, no Tom Yum). Getting to ride the waterbus and tuktuk definitely added to the experience. Our guides had everything planned and everything went smoothly. All around an incredible way to experience Bangkok.

      Amazing Flavours - worth doing
This was a great experience and well worth doing. Eating away from the tourists and experiencing the dishes enjoyed by locals, the balance of flavours was amazing. The different modes of travel experienced on the tour was a lovely touch too. Would very much recommend. (Tour by Johny supported by Champ)

A taste of old Siam loaded with yumminess
Bew & Pang were excellent & friendly guides. Their explanations of the foods we tried were very clear & informative. Their service & attention to detail top notch. Arrangements were well made so that we had no problems having a place to sit at each stop & little to no waiting time at each food stop. Although we’ve been to Bangkok several times, the experience was still new for us with the introduction to a new area of the city & the chance to try street foods new to us. The tour opened our eyes to some traditional & still yummy dishes prepared at decades old restaurants & food stalls not so well known to most tourists. It was also interesting to find foods that were similar but different to some we have in Malaysia — with Thailand’s own take on the same dish. Overall it was a very good experience. A tour worth doing.

      Taste Bangkok like locals
Amazing way to experience Bangkok like locals. Taste the variety of public transports choice and obviously the yummy menus selected. Not only rich in taste, some of this food also have a long story that passed on generations, and the flow was arranged in a way to maximize our culinary adventure. Our guide, Annie and Pang had been superb; they were very friendly and attentive to each and every one of the tour group member.

      Eat,eat,repeat!
We selected this tour based on the number of tastings and the fact that it included a variety of modes of transport to parts of Bangkok that were off the tourist path. It did not disappoint! We travelled along the canals on a waterbus, by tuk tuk and by public bus to family-run restaurants and a market. Johnny, our guide, and Ammi(?),his assistant, did a great job taking us around, explaining all about the dishes and the history of the restaurants, ensuring that everything ran smoothly.. We tried a great, varied selection of dishes in traditional local establishments that we would not have been adventurous enough to do under our own steam. We highly recommend this tour!

As others have mentioned, this is an extensive food tour with only a small group of people and knowledgeable guides. We had Aa and Fit as guides and they were great, constantly asking if we needed water refills, scheduling bathrooms breaks and answering all our questions. Yes, it's pricey for this city, however you get the convenience of hitting multiple spots, some down hidden alley ways and side streets and there are tables and chairs waiting for you at your arrival. We never would have been able to eat this variety in a similar timeframe on our own. We had a total of 16 different dishes, including a drink, over almost 4hrs. Highly recommended.

We went on this tour back in November and it was the best food tour I've ever been on. We would never have found all these amazing places down twisting back alleys on our own. The food was incredible and so diverse. The tour combined the exciting busy main drag with jaunts off into the quiet back streets of Chinatown. Highlights included the Michelin recommended shrimp dumplings, the soy sauce ice cream, and the Tom Yum soup at this fantastic restaurant with four crazy floors and a line around the corner. The great part about the tour was no waiting in lines. The assistant would go ahead of the group and put us on the list and then we would just walk right in when we got there. The main tour guide and the assistant were such lovely people and full of great information. Highly recommend this tour! Come hungry!

Were it possible, I would give this tour 6 stars out of 5. Oh boy, what an experience! We felt so welcome right from the meeting point up to the very end. Tom's English (our guide) was absolutely amazing. It was almost as if talking to a native speaker. Which makes it just soooo easy to communicate and shoot out your many, many questions about the wonderful diversity of Bangkok's street food. We met up in Chinatown and over the course of 4 hours we got to taste 19 (!) different dishes and drinks all over the many many different food stalls of Chinatown. Ranging from morning glory dumplings to pork stew to shrimps, green curry, satay some green juice, sweet dumplings, Tom Yam soup and even some crispy insects (on request). We've even visited two stalls which have been awarded a Michelin star. The group of 9 people was just small enough so you could really approach the tour guide as well, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, he seems to enjoy his job tremendously. As did his helpers, always paying attention, so we tourists didn't stray or stand too far on the road. It happened quite often that I was so stunned by the scenery, I just forgot about cars and everything, and suddenly one of the elves appeared, shooing me back to safety. Again, I'm trying to put the experience into words, but they fail me, such a fab time we had. I can only say, if you are in Bangkok, try it out yourself, it's well worth the money and the time is so well spent, since you not only get to taste the food, but the stroll through Chinatown and Tom's explanation gives you a glimpse of how people live their daily lives in Bangkok. Just wonderful.

Our guides Tom & Fit took us on a 4 hour tour around the back alleys of Chinatown and along Yaowaret Road visiting vendors we would've never have gone to and to eat things we would've never have tried on our own.

In total we had around 20 samples of food and, by the end of the tour, we were left very full so make sure you don't eat much beforehand!

I've been on a few food tours before and this by far and away was the best one I had been on- a massive thanks to Tom for being such a great guide and for Fit for running ahead and sorting us our tables.....my wife also has a nut allergy and Tom was very good at ensuring that this was checked before each sample of food. Overall a really well run, informative and, best of all, very tasty food tour!

This is an excellent tour conducted by Andy, a local man who clearly has immense passion, knowledge and pride in his city and its food. You walk with him and his assistant in a small group (we had 5) and he leads you through the back streets, alleys and markets, stopping regularly to sample the most beautiful and authentic street food that you almost certainly would never be able to find yourself, or have confidence in its quality. As you finish at one place, Andy's helper scurries ahead to the next venue to secure a few chairs for the next experience. We had, I think, 14 different delicious dishes with great variety, so you don't need dinner afterwards! A great experience and excellent value, and perfect to do it early on a visit to Bangkok, as it gives you a wonderful feel for the city.

Loved the tour. Arrived from 30+ hours in transit, starving! Left well satisfied and well armed to order some excellent street food for myself for the next few days.
Our guide was Pravit, and it was a great bumping into him 2 days later and having a chat about other places in Chinatown that I had stumbled across...despite the amount of places we tried on the tour, there is a lot more in Chinatown, I was there for 3 days and could spend another 2 weeks!
I'd definitely book one of the other tours next time I'm in town.
You guys are doing an amazing job of marketing Chinatown while helping to preserve the rich food heritage of a rapidly changing city.

When I booked this tour, I was hesitant despite the fabulous reviews. A lot of people told me "why would you book an expensive tour when Thai food is already so cheap?". I also wondered if this was going to be a mistake. Let me tell you that it was absolutely not. Yaowrat or Chinatown is such a crazy hectic area (like most of bangkok) and it is really hard to window shop for food when theres tons of people everywhere. Additionally, Yaowrat is a maze of back alleys filled with delicious food but unless you know exactly where you're going, you will almost surely miss them. Our tour guid Tom was so kind, funny and accommodating. The food was delicious and they made sure we were totally taken care of. Always keeping lots of water on hand, pointing us to the nearest washrooms and always giving us good places to sit. Everyone in the reviews says that you should comes with an empty stomach and that is totally true. They certainly do not skimp on portion sizes here. By the end of the tour I was absolutely stuffed and at no point did I ever think it was a waste of money, despite thai food being cheap in general. I understand that I could have probably gone out and purchased every item on the list for cheaper than the excursion but there is no way I would have been able to find it to buy it in the first place! Some of the stuff we ate was literally tucked in an alley, hidden in an unassuming convenience store, or just hidden in plain view covered with other stalls and people. Not only did we get delicious food, we got memories. This was so much fun and now I have so many suggestions for my friends who travel to Bangkok. I would recommend this to anyone as long as they're not picky and willing to try new food!

Amazing Tour! Our guide Tom took us through the back alleys of Chinatown eating at delicious and unassuming food carts, exploring restaurants with Michelin guide and Newsweek awards, and navigating through the main busy and energetic street of Yaowarat. Tom took us to places we never would have found alone and gave us a fascinating history of all of the restaurants-- including the origin of pad thai to Thai cuisine. We ate so so much and had the most incredible time!

we cooked 4 courses and I realy can not say which was the best.
Maybe the Green thai curryy which was defenitely the best curry inmy live.
Natcha made sure that I´m capable to redo it without her by fisrt cooking and explaining and then let me repeat the cooking by doing my meal.
She gave me great insides in the incrediance, how to replace some if I can not get them in Germany and on top on the culture of thai cooking.
It was a great day and I will defginitely come back!

The tour was fantastic. We had Tom as our host with Phon and Fit helping out, all had great personalities and very informative. Loved seeing some new Thai dishes that have made the cut such as soya sauce ice cream and pennywort juice. I know some of the
Michelin street food were a favourite with the others. Highly recommend the tour and would go on another in a different country if given the chance.
