I'm writing this a little late, but I was looking back at photos of my trip (actually in December 2018) and realized I had missed a review on this tour. This should tell you how good it was! This food tour was amazing! There was great explanation about the food preparation as well as the history of the city - and most importantly it was all delicious. Mod was a fantastic guide and I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a true local experience!

We booked a private tour with Historic Bangrak Food Tasting and Culture Tour through our travel consultant Allison of Sodha Travel. This was a fantastic way to experience this aspect of Thailand. Our nice and interesting guide took us to a neighborhood with few tourists where locals live and eat. We had a variety of fresh Thai dishes cooked right in front of us and our guide was able to translate and take care of all the details. I highly recommend this tour.

My tour with our guide Nuch was better than I could have hoped for. I'd originally expressed interest in the Thonburi tour but they were unable to accommodate as I was the only one to sign up (totally fair). They immediately suggested the Bangrak tour as an alternative. I'm glad I took them up on their offer. I met with Nuch at the local BTS station and from there we walked a short ways (~ 5 minutes) to our first destination. Each of the restaurants we went to had great food. Nuch not only provided deep insight into what we were eating (ingredients, method of preparation, etc), but also into cultural and historical aspects of the area as well.

I would recommend this tour to anyone. One note though - many of the dishes were served "family style" (i.e. from a common dish). This didn't bother me at all, but I thought I'd mention it. Also, come hungry. One of the members of the couple I was on the tour with had a light breakfast and I think she regretted it. Along those same lines, I'm a fairly big eater and I walked away more than satisfied.

We really enjoyed our time with Mod. My dad particularly enjoyed the roasted duck on rice, and I loved the Thai iced milk tea, papaya salad and many other things. Mod was hilarious - full of jokes in addition to great knowledge about the food scene in Bangkok. One warning though: try not to eat ANYTHING in the 3-4 hours before your tour and do not stuff yourselves at the food stops, or you won't have room for all the delicious tastings!

My brother and I enjoyed this street food tour on Christmas Day from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Our guide Nuch was wonderful - she was extremely knowledgeable about the area and was very enthusiastic in sharing the food and general experience with us. Definitely worth it!

Our tour guide was Mod, and she wonderful! We walked around the streets as she taught us about the food, the customs and the people of Bangkok. She showed us food and Flower markets. We tried a variety of foods as we walking around the streets and took a ferry to the other side of the river. Mod is very knowledgeable and entertaining as well. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

We were guided on the Bang Rak food tour by the wonderful Lily. She was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to suit our family making it interesting for our son 10yrs.
We visited several family restaurants as well as some local sites. The walking isn't too vigerous and stops were often & some of the restaurants have airconditioning. We tasted duck; crispy pork belly; chicken masaman; Green curry chicken with Thai roti, tamarind ice cream, Pandan buns; chicken knuckles & catfish floss all delicious. Highly recommended. Easy to book and organise direct.
