What to expect
Your tour begins at a central Bangkok location, where you’ll greet your guide and get to grips with your bike. Once you feel confident, you’ll head away from the city’s bustling center and cycle past villas to a local community, where you’ll have the chance to interact with residents and learn about their way of living. On arrival at the Chao Phraya River (Mae Nam Chao Phraya), you’ll board a traditional Thai long-tail boat and cruise over to what’s considered the green lung of Bangkok. After exploring the verdant area, you’ll stop for a traditional Thai meal and visit a Buddhist temple that attracts few crowds. After a stop at an open-air Muay Thai boxing school, you’ll return to your original departure point in central Bangkok.

After almost 20 years I came to Bangkok and hired again this impressive tour . We very lucky because we meet by chance with the owner Andre, who guided us again like in my first time.

I was a great experience and genuine as exactly I remembered it ,Andre keeps the same energy and he is still very passionate about his job.

Bikes are more comfortable now and the tracks through the green part are still as exciting as they used to be. Some times the track is narrow but it was not a problem at all.

It is an advisable experience and also a good reason to extend your time in Bangkok.

By our travel agency was arranged the tour 'Color of Bangkok' included in our holiday in February 2020. It was an amazing experience to see by the tour a total different view on Bangkok.
The arrangement and the tour guide were very professional, we seen nice places, nature and the rickshaw tour was perfekt. The lunch in an original restaurant with excellent and spicy Thai food - THX for a day we don't forget too fast.

Totally enjoyed the tour. Everything was perfectly organized and all you had to do was enjoying the ride and the beautiful 'Colours of Bangkok'
They gave you plenty of water throughout the tour and the guide (Khun B) was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Lunch was very local but delicious (recommend to take the TomYum Omelette), the owner (André) welcomed us and said good by and we chatted how everything started. He's a great guy. Totally recommend this place and I will book it again.

This was an absolutely brilliant cycle tour. We had a superb guide Tor who was very informative and adapted the speed as necessary. It gave us a unique insight into parts of Bangkok rarely seen by Western travellers. Highly recommend this for getting off the beaten track and seeing real life in Bangkok. The bikes were new and very comfortable.

Great experience this biking tour in a quiet part of Bangkok, crossing the river with our bikes. We went through the jungle, visited a temple and a floating market and a Thai boxing training place. Our guide was very friendly and had a lot to tell. Good bikes as well.

I cannot believe that I was convinced to try this based on a litany of positive reviews! 3-out-of-8 people on my tour were injured - including myself; sprained thumb, badly smashed up legs (*see unaltered photo) and ripped shorts/gouged thighs from a piece of metal jutting out from my bike seat! Part of the route is in traffic - you are dodging cars and motorbikes and tuk tuks. Then you drive through a slum with open sewage, putrefaction and emaciated dogs and children randomly jumping into your path; on THE WORST road you can imagine - holes in pavement, over huge tracks and through mud and water that is absolutely disgusting. I fell onto train tracks when my front tire lodged in the muck - I could have been very seriously injured! The green area involves riding on a elevated path that is VERY narrow - with green slime-covered water on one side and barbed wire on the other - heaven help you if you fall here! There was not enough cold water for our group at 2 of the stops and even feeding the fish can be dangerous as they literally jump out of the water - my husband got bit. Our guide was so far ahead in some cases that we couldn't see him and when my bike saddle cut my thigh and shorts open, he just nonchalantly swapped it out. I would NEVER EVER do this again or reccomend it to anyone else. I know my review will be lost among the positive ones and I can't imagine who's writing them but at least I did my part to try and warn others off.

Traveler06856742320
Dear eightfold, Thanks you so much for leaving a review. Although not the best one, we're open for criticism and comments and will always try to do better. We do understand understand that traffic can scare some people. That's our main reason we are avoiding main roads and cycle through alleys and back-street doors. Most people love this but obviously not you. The other side of the river we cycle on concrete pathways "floating" 1,5 meter above the ground in a jungle like area. Most of these pathways have a fence on one side. You do can fall down if you are not paying attention. But here again, people love this part. Obviously this tour wasn't for you, and I feel sorry about it. Perhaps it would have been better for you if you would have done our walking and rickshaw tour. Something you could consider next time when visiting Bangkok. I'm sure you will enjoy that better. We're keeping track of bicycles used and I just checked all female bicycles used on that day of the tour and checked the seats. 3 of them have a new seat (changed 3 months ago) so that must have been something else. We are operating this tour for 15 years and never had a serious accident. Besides a scratch or a bruise. That would have been different if the tour is as dangerous as you describe. Oh, the park we're visiting and feed the fish like roach, carp and similar no-one and I mean no-one ever, ever got bitten. Anyhow, I hope you had great stay in Thailand and will have beautiful memories that will stay with you for ever. Kind regards, Andre Breuer

This was a great tour and showed sides of the city we have not experienced before and would likely not have done otherwise. We wound our way around back streets and less wealthy areas of the city which gave an insight into the lives of those not living and working in the city centre. We also enjoyed cycling around the park area that was a breath of fresh air from the busy city with lovely views as well as a fascinating temple visit and a light meal of traditional Pad Thai. This is an excellent trip that was hugely enhanced by having such a wonderful guide - Up (or Pakawadee Pobai) was great company and a fantastic guide!
Highly recommend this trip!

We were not offered helmets for this ride through the crowded and chaotic Bangkok streets. We were both appalled to be dodging cars, trucks and motorcycles. Our guide told us that we would need to continue on busy streets for an hour. At that point, we decided to cancel that portion of the tour and our guide said we could head to the quieter portion. This turned out to be walking our bikes through alleys too narrow to bike past open homes; at least one of which had a naked man. At this point we cancelled our tour. I told our guide (who was very nice) that this was simply too dangerous. The trainee guide told us that she thought it was too too dangerous for her as well.

This was absolutely nothing like their brochures. It was unsafe and a waste of time and money.

Dear Kimberly, Thanks for your review. I'm happy to read your input but sad at the same time that we were unable to give you the experience and thrill we were hoping for. We certainly have helmets for all our guests but in Thailand it's not mandatory to wear one. Our guides do have to ask all our clients if they want to wear one and he/she will provide you one.If our guide failed to offer you a helmet I'm really sorry and I will take that up with him. The first hour of Colors of Bangkok tour is urban and routing goes through backstreet doors and hidden pathways of about one meter to 1,50 wide. It's no problem to ride a bicycle on these pathways. If we have guests that are insecure, we have them walk. Bangkok is a huge metropolis and well known for it's traffic congestions. Although we are avoiding most of the traffic (by using hidden pathways and small alleys) we're unable to avoid all traffic. After the first hour we cross the river and you will be in a green jungle of palm-, banana- and mango- trees, almost without traffic. Unfortunately your didn't want to continue to that part. Naked man: yes in those small communities it is possible you see someone without a shirt or in underwear. Thai, in general, are quite shy. It's a pity you didn't came up to our office/lounge once you were back I would have loved to hear your story and I would probably have come up with some alternatives to comfort. Although you didn't have the experience we were hoping for I sincerely hope you have enjoyed your stay in Thailand. With kind regards, Andre Breuer

We had a great time doing the weekend edition which involved a trip to the weekend market which was much less touristy than other markets we had been too. Pace of the cycling was very good given that we had two 12 year olds on the trip - better than some of the other cycling tours we had tried in the region. Some parts of the trail are narrow and on elevated pathways so if you are not too confident on a bike then this is not for you but really pace was relaxed so you can take it slowly. Highly recommended as a nice break from the main city and wonderful guides accompanied us. Crossing the river was also a nice part which our kids really enjoyed.

Our tour guide was Mond and he was such a fun and informative guide. He first guided us through a very small portion of the major city streets to see a beautiful temple where he gave us a little information about Buddhism and their traditions. From there we rode through the slums of Bangkok and saw lots of smiling, friendly residents happy to see outsiders. We rode past a train graveyard on our way to the pier where we got on a longtail boat and headed across the water to a lush green island away from the city. I really enjoyed riding on the raised pathways through the jungle, it was definitely a different experience. My husband enjoyed the brief lesson in Muay Thai boxing, he said that was the highlight of the tour for him. The lunch was very good too.

Overall, I recommend this tour if you would like to do something a little different that is outside of the city. I do suggest wearing lightweight clothing as it is pretty hot out there, but bike riding was a nice change of pace for us (versus walking everywhere).
