Amazing tour with a great tour guide
Our tour guide, Sofia was amazing very friendly and happy to answer all our questions ☺️. The tour was very interesting, we learnt a lot but maybe including Wat Arun would have been an extra bonus. Apart from that we definitely recommend it. 😊

    Visit to wife's grandfather's grave.
Chose this hotel due to its unique location. Rooms floating on river were fantastic. Travel by boat to reach the hotel. Unique experience down river Kwai. Staff were willing and efficient as well as friendly. Thai food was lovely but I had dodgy stomach second on the second night so ordered steak. Without going into detail, we had a number of issues but they resolved satisfactorily. Recommend.

The best way to get to know Koh Samui
We had a fabulous day trip to see almost all of the sights in Koh Samui. Our guide, Palm, was simply excellent. He gauged what we were interested in to perfection. As a result, we completed a very wide itinerary without feeling rushed. Plenty of time where we wanted to explore a little more. Perfect lunch in the most wonderful location at the top of the mountain too. Palms english was excellent (thank goodness, as our Thai is almost non existent!). He noticed thing that might interest us as we travelled between planned stops. Amongst other things- a wonderful close encounter with a kingfisher, seeing the fruit growing naturally & showing us how rubber is tapped. He was clear about courtesy for the environment, others & farmers property so we felt very relaxed about enjoying our experiences without worrying that we may accidentally appear disrespectful to our hosts. Palm gave us an amazing day, lots of information, local knowledge - lots of humour- we laughed & smiled the day through. Can thoroughly recommend. 😊

    Tour with Piya!
The tour was scheduled by the Novotel Hotel at the Bangkok airport. We chose two consecutive tours of the city’s temples and Buddhas. It was first rate experience.

    Agressive dancers
The show was not so good or not so bad, in several languages. After show when we went out dancers called to take pictures. My friends took 2-3 pics each,I didn't. Once we were about to leave, they asked for money. They asked in a very agressive way, seems they were ready to fight. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS SHOW!!!!

    Very disorganized
Very disorganized. There were 7 similar cruises, all meeting at the same location at 7 different desks, and no one could tell you which cruise was yours without trial and error. This was not a relaxing event, but nonstop entertainment and no real chance to see the lights of the city and enjoy the river. I would not reconnect any of these cruises but would prefer a long tail boat tour instead.

Very good show. Good seats. good view. good actors. Great outfits. They danced non stop. The show started exactly at 7:30 and went on till the end. They interacted with guests which made the show even funnier

    A little rushed.....
Our boat was called Smile Riverside. The cruise provided a buffet and entertainment including traditional Thai dancing. It was worth the money to see beautiful Bangkok lit up at night however as it is only 2 hours long it felt a little rushed with everything happening at the same time ie people walking around the buffet and across the stage whilst dancers were performing (no ones fault) also it kind of became a choice between, getting some food, watching the entertainment or seeing the sights rather than being able to enjoy all 3. Still a great night but it would be good if tables went up individually for food rather than the long queues and if everyone had food and was seated in time for the beautiful traditional dancing..

    Mediocre
Mediocre experience. Put it this way, the best part was that they showed up on time. The guide did not speak very good English and I didn't feel like I learned anything. She barely told us anything about where we were. I would not recommend this tour at all.

    Absolute hell on earth.
Absolutely total rip off horrific toxic fume filled experience. If you want to spend the worst time of your life then waste your money on this. £40 for 1 hour on a diesel powered long boat trawling stenching canal water with people trying to sell you mass produced tourist trash...then barge your way through a diesel fumed long boat traffic jam for an hour...burning your eyes and swelling your tongue. A disgrace. TripAdvisor for health and safety reasons please do not promote this experience. There were families with young children crying and babies in arms with parents trying to protect thier young from the toxic hell... A disgrace to describe this experience anything but horrific.

Started very early (6:30am) as they collected all tourists in a central location for onward journey to Ayutthaya. This journey actually began at around 8:30am. Other than that the trip per se was interesting and worth seeing.

Thank you for your valuable review. Understand your inconvenience due to time wasted by collecting all guests, we have to provide enough buffer time to avoid bad traffic during rush hour in the morning. We appreciated your kind feedback and thank you for trusting Tour East Thailand.

We had just three days in Bangkok and wanted to visit Ayutthaya, so this seemed like a good option to squeeze a lot in. Donna was our tour guide. Her English was pretty good and she was very informative on the bus about the sites we were visiting. However, we really would have liked to have spent more time at most of the sites. It is a very rushed tour. You get to see quite a bit, but there isn't enough time to do more than just a quick walk around at the stops.

Half of the tour is the return trip down the river by boat. There is a lunch buffet with the typical "meh" buffet food. The staff also seemed to be a huge rush to shut down the buffet ASAP--they were already starting to remove things as I went for a second round of food. It was nice to see the Bangkok area by riverboat, but 3 hours of it is quite a bit. I would have preferred that time to be put towards extra time at the sites we visited, with a more speedy return to Bangkok by bus.

It is an inexpensive tour and you do get to see quite a quite a few sites, but don't expect more than just a quick overview.

We could not have been more pleased with this day trip from Bangkok. We were picked up and retuned to our hotel in Bangkok. We made three stops at palace and temple complexes in Ayutthara. All were interesting with ample time of about an hour each. The boat ride back was great. The boat is modern, air conditioned inside, and very comfortable. The lunch buffet was really superb. Everyone was polite, kind and informative. The cost pp was about $65 or so which was very reasonable. I heartily recommend,

A friend helped us arranged Ayutthaya trip. It's our 2nd last day in Bangkok but my teenage girl wasn't ready to wake up early, so finally we left Bangkok at 12.30pm. Yes, one day trip is enough to cover the main ruins of the temples if you have a tight schedule. Both my hubby n I were rather excited with this tour n we looked around along our journey to Ayutthaya, we found that the ruined temples are scattered over a big area of Ayutthaya. The 4 wheel drive driver was v skillful n careful too but too bad he was unable to speak much English. The travelling from Mahanak to Bangkok was smooth n comfortable, we were glad that we did pack our lunch to eat while otw there so that we didn't have to waste time at the restaurant. Journey took abt 1 n half hours only. Visited a big temple n 2 sites of temple ruins. V amazing sights, kept imagining life during those times must be care free n pollution free. Took abt 500 pictures here. V satisfied w this short trip. Managed to rush back to Bangkok by 7.00pm. The trip plus our packed lunch only cost us 4000bht. Very reasonable price for the 3 of us. Glad that we were here n I'll definitely come back for a longer period if have the chance. Thank you to Thai Government for preserving this wonderful n amazing sites of the ruined temples!

This time my wife and I hired a professional tour guide from our hotel. We went by Minivan and it was a totally different experience worth the little extra money that we paid. We had convenience but we also had the benefit of listening to a professional tour guide who explained everything in detail and who answered all of our questions. He even acted as our photographer to take some great photos of us among the ancient ruins. It was a very enjoyable day.

Great day out. We were picked up by our guide from our hotel and taken to the railway station for a train that would take us to Ayutthaya. Unfortunately our guide got us to the station an hour early so we had a bit of a wait. The more interesting thing was that we all had to stand up at 0800 as they played the national anthem over the tannoy system.

The train’s air conditioning system was over efficient and we all had to put on extra clothing , hats etc.

When we arrived at Ayutthaya we were picked up by a tuk tuk and taken round the temples which were fabulous. After the temples we had lunch in a local restaurant which had a good selection of local food.

I had originally thought that this trip would involve seeing an old ruined city and not just the old temples surrounded by modern housing.

After lunch we were taken by long tailed boat to the summer palace which was well worth a visit. For less able people there are golf buggies to save the long walk.

From the summer palace we were taken back by taxi to our hotel.

From being coached with English speaking people, after pick up from hotel, tour guided throughout to; The ancient ruins at the old Thai capital, the royal summer palace and temples. Then the return boat ride provided with a very full hot and cold buffet choice was a super day out and after all added up it was not over expensive.
PS. I was boggled by the number of bricks that must have been made to build the ancient capital and the beauty of the summer palace.

Ayutthaya is a very cool interesting place, full of ancient and ruin temples. The place is a magnet for Thai tourists rather than foreign tourist. It is still very much old school Thailand, not spoiled yet.A couple of night food markets which are worth visiting Tuk Tuk driver would charge you £5 an hour to drive you around visiting the famous places. There are different entry charges for foreign and Thai tourists for instance 10 baht for the Thais and 50baht for foreigners. Only 70 KM from Bangkok and if you take the train from Hualumpong it would cost you about 15 baht (40 Pence)

Our guide was very good. Get a good chance to see 3 of the main Ayutthaya sites. Guide let us do a fair amount of independent rambling at the site but was always available if we needed him.
I was somewhat surprised by how many of my fellow travelers ignored the very clear instructions on proper dress but the first site had a place to buy coverups so it wasn't a problem. Pants were about 100 baht (roughly 3 dollars) so very reasonable. The sites were all fascinating.
The river cruise was OK, food was pretty good. I would have liked to have spent more time outside but the areas with shade were the same areas the smokers would congregate. They really need a shaded no smoking area on the top deck.
They take you back to your hotel at the end of the trip which is a nice convenience.

Superb value for money tour which punches way above it's weight. Hotel pick up, air conditioned transport, nice extra touches of chilled bottled water, face refreshing wipes, a nice and relaxing cruise back down the Chao Phraya river past the Grand Palace and Wat Arun with an excellent buffet meal and then drop off back to hotel. The jewel in the crown of our trip was our tour guide, Donna, who combined humour, charm and a wealth of information. She is a credit to her company. Highly recommended tour.
