          Excellent tour
Great tour today. A full day one but interesting and good value. War cemetery for the death railway. Very moving. Great to walk over the bridge and then a train ride along the railway for a lunch stop. Drive back to Bangkok.

          Best day tour.
A very good day. Collected from the hotel. A nice drive out to Ayutthaya which was remarkable. Down to the river for a lunch cruise back to Bangkok. Staff were all great.

Bridge on the river kwai trip
The whole trip is run well and the guide and driver are great. Trip on the train was nice and chilled and lunch was good. Long tail boat was ok ..photo on the water heading up to the bridge is nice. Only downside is the return to bangkok, it does take a while as bangkok roads are so busy

          Great tour
We had a great guide! The bus was comfortable and the food on the boat was tasty. The boat could have stood for stronger AC, but we’re in a heat wave so it’s probably fine normally.

This was a wonderful tour with several stops that were all insta worthy. The tour guide also takes your pictures if you’re travelling alone or even if you’re in a group. I recommend this tour. Definitely worth what we paid for.

          A great tour of Ayutthaya
A well managed tour of a few of the Ayutthaya temples with a great history brought by our tour guide. The coach rides were very comfortable and we had a wonderful boat ride back into Bangkok while sitting on the front deck. Lunch was a tasty buffet of Thai food.

Don't book this tour. It's not what it says.
We had booked several tours through Viator prior to arrival in Asia. This was NOT worth what we paid. After receiving several emails about our tour, I thought it would be great. Nothing on WhatsApp the day of tour. We found our guide with a paper and my name on it. We had a large van and a driver, as well as a guide. We were unprepared for this. The drive from cruise port to the Grand Palace took 3 hours. The driver spent most of the time either on his phone or chatting up with the driver in their own language. And, they were loud! The driver would speed up and slow down, not a pleasant drive. We arrived at the Grand Palace (well, across the road and down a bit from the actual palace) Apparently, there was some type of ceremony that caused traffic to back up. When nearing the gate, the guide told my husband, who was wearing shorts, he would need to buy pants. He admitted it was his fault for not advising on this at the cruise terminal, where we met. He laughed. Also, he was a challenge to understand. He did know the Grand Palace, though. He was wanting to take lots of pictures of my husband and I and was angry when we kept telling him no. We were at the Palace for less than an hour. The guide asked about shopping and we said we were not looking for high end or junk. We are more impulse buyers than shoppers. We were looking forward to the market we had requested in the selection process. The guide decided we did not have enough time to go to the market (it was about noon and our onboard was 5:30PM) Instead, as he was busy on his phone, sending kissy face emojis, and speaking with the driver, they decided to take up to what was clearly a shop for tourists. Jewelry and junk. We browsed and when we went to find the guide, he was have a drink and chatting up a lady at the counter. All the way to Bangkok, we had no real shopping experience and no opportunity to have a Thai lunch. The guide insisted we head back. Again on the return, the driver and guide were talking and laughing. At one point, the guide explained to us that they get paid by the day not the hour. So, at the end of an 8 hour day, with allotment for lunch included in the 8 hours, they would not be paid extra. I guess the driver and the guide wanted to be done before the 8 hours. And, they were. The driver was much speedier on the return trip and we were back on board before 3PM. Guess we did have time to shop. This was 100% the worst tour and not worth even half what we paid. I will not recommend to anyone, not my clients and not to other travels.

The food was amazing, and they will refill the platter whenever needed. It was great to learn about Thai traditional dance and music.

          Interesting day viewing temple ruins
We were picked up from our hotel in an air-conditioned coach and drove about an hour with some commentary along the way. It was an interesting experience, but a very hot, humid day walking amongst the ruins. We visited a few other sights in the area before driving to the river where we boarded a boat which served a delicious buffet lunch and cruised back to Bangkok, viewing many interesting sights along the way.

Left at 7:30am for a 70 mile trip one way bus trip. This bus took us to an area full of other busses and dropped us off at a dock full of large engined canoes. These long boats flew through some mangroves and canals that were full of trash. Floating Market had some yummy coconut ice cream and sticky rice. Lots of trinkets and souvenirs for sale. Waste of a day and $$ on a Toursit trap at best.

We did this tour with Gift our guide. Private pick up and journey to the markets. A fast speed boat into the markets which was brilliant fun and like something out of James Bond! Then we paid extra to get a row boat round the markets. Really good experience and glad we did it! It’s quite full on so it’s definitely good to have someone who knows the scene and keep you right! Also stopped at a market and coconut and orchid farm which was amazing. Gift was a great guide and we would highly recommend.

I am giving this a 5/5 simply because of the customer service. First off, you aren't just going to the floating markets. On the way to the floating market you stop by a coconut farm and then go to a longtail boat and then the floating markets. Like the others said, once you get to the floating market you do have to pay for your own paddle boat (150 baht per person).

The market itself was not amazing and not a true floating market. It's more like tourists on boats going to the stalls versus the other way around.

What made this trip amazing was the customer service. On our way to the coconut farm, my mom asked about roasted coconuts and a rare coconut that she had heard when she was in Vietnam and they went out of their way to help her find what she wanted.

I would definitely do another tour with this company but probably not to Damnoen.

We were looking forward to seeing lots of colours with some good photography.
We had a private driver , the journey still took 2 hrs from Bangkok.
It was heaving with tourists, we were taken round some of the backwaters first in a small local boat which had nothing to offer, then into the main floating market which was hugely disappointing. There were not so many boats selling their wares as they have now gone into the covered market areas which are just full of tourist rubbish.
A few older ladies are trying to make a living, but it has just become a show put on for the tourists.
We would not have bothered if we had known.
There are far better markets around the world.

Dear Vony18, Yes the journey is around 90 minutes as this is another province. The boat which you went on is approx 30 minutes which is right into the market itself. There is a platform which you mention where they have another market and then you have the floating market itself. Its not a show for the tourists as many locals will also visit here on the weekend. However thanks for your comments, Nick

Overcorwded, dirty, way overpriced and not worth the time. It is almost a 2 hour drive from Bangkok (we had a private driver so probably longer by bus). While the idea of touring the market was very appealing to us, we found it to be way too commercialized and not any better than any day or night market that you can walk around for free in any Asian city. We felt like we wasted an entire day by going to Danmoen.

Dear Pierre, Thanks for your review and I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy this private tour. The tour has evolved since many tourists visit this however they have still kept a large portion of this area away from the mass markets. This market is the still only place where the sellers still sell their fruit and vegetables, souvenirs, etc from their boats. You can not find this anywhere on the streets of Bangkok. Thanks for your comments however, Regards, Nick

It is an experience that you will never forget. Its amazing to see all these little boats on the river and all are selling things.Hustle and bustle.Lots of haggling in price,a must, with the traders on either side of the river.
You must try sticky rice and mango...People are friendly and everyone will try and get you to buy but once you say no they leave you alone.Loved the experience.

Visited the Floating Markets as it’s a must do activity in Bangkok. The tour guide was initially helpful and had information. However, there is a stop at an orchid farm which is more of a ploy to get tourist money than anything. Yes the long tail boat ride was included - but the boat through the market was not (& that was only 15 minutes through a small part). There is nothing special about the products or food and actually everything was much pricier than the goods and food found around the temples and Grand Palace. Guide didn’t speak on way back - she didn’t seem to like that we were done 15-20 minutes early with “shopping”.

Sorry that you did not completely see the Damern Saduak floating market. Although it has been in operation for many, many years and is still a ‘genuine’ market, it is very much a place to give the visitor a feeling, or an insight, into the floating markets of Thailand. Thank you for echoing some details in the description of this tour. As it is very popular with the tourists, the products are largely geared towards the out-of-towers. That would only natural, I’m sure you agree! (And I think the sellers there would say “simple common sense”). That said, the food is safe to eat yet authentic. For your info, the stop at the orchid farm is not a ploy to grab tourist money. This tour must have a very early departure from the hotel so the location and facilities at the orchid farm make for an ideal place to stop on the way to the floating markets. It is both a Comfort Stop AND a welcome place to buy a little snack if you didn’t have time for breakfast at the hotel. Yes, a tourist can buy souvenirs here too but Tour East is not on the take at all.
