About
During this 2-hour trip, you will see how necessary tea is for Taiwanese daily by drinking. You probably have tasted a cup of BOBA milk tea to quench your thirst, which is even being sold in 7-11 now. However, the first thought for Taiwanese people might be the Chinese herbal tea around the corner, and finish it right away! Tea also can be more than just a drink, we mix it with rice/meat/dessert, and making friends with a cup of tea just like a shot. Let's go through the way back to hundreds years ago, from the biggest business wharf "Dadaocheng" for the history of tea. Taste explosion of tea, bet you will totally change your mind about it.

- Gary H0 contributionsMark Chou 1/2 day walking TourMark Chou was our guide. He was well informed, knowledgeable and easy to listen to. He spoke excellent English. and was even entertaining. I highly recommend Mark for any day walking tour through Taipei!Written January 11, 2019
- Joy M0 contributionsCity tour of old town, Dadaocheng and other local areasWe got an inside view of Taipei through our guide. The tour included the Memorial Square, a viewing of Dong Men or the east gate, and a walk by the old hospital. Interwoven with each building was the history and its significance in Taipei. From the many Han migrations, Japanese government and the mass migration after World War II, you can see how each event is commemorated in events, buildings and the culture. We made our way to Dadaocheng and through it to visit temples, local markets, a traditional puppet theatre, Snow King the landmark ice cream store. Lunch was at a popular beef noodle restaurant. We took another tour the next day to see a printing press, the old streets in Dadaocheng and walked by the Taipei Bridge. Although we were a little past rush hour we saw the "motorcycle waterfall" cascade off the bridge into the streets of Dadaocheng. It turned out to be more of a motor scooter waterfall but it was quite the scene. That said, you can customize the tour to see more of what you like. We wanted to see traditional arts and industries so choose the puppet theatre and the printing press. It's great to see a city through the people who live there. I felt we had a view into the city and the people I would not have been able to see. Finally, you can do a walking tour on your own with a guide book if you want to DIY a city walk.Written April 2, 2017

- DWY_Soh0 contributionsGet to know the story behind the monumentsOur multi lingual guide Dr He was knowledgeable about the city and was able to tell us interesting snippets about the monuments, the cultural, historical and or political background behind the event or monument we were looking at. The rain didn't deter us as we were kitted out with audio receivers and could hear him clearly.Written April 15, 2015
- Krall20130 contributionsGreat way to experience Taipei cultureEven though I'm a Taipeier, I still enjoyed quite much of this tour getting participants to know more about Taipei and experiencing locals' way of living. Apparently, the tour guide is cultivated, professional and full of enthusiasm to introduce Taipei, making me feel the tour is different from typical travel tour, which takes people to some landmark like Taipei 101 or National Palace Museum. It's really highly recommended to people who want to experience really Taipei culture.Written April 3, 2015
- ninatptw0 contributionsThe best way to explore Taipei ! I was born and raised up in Taipei but I knew little about the history of the old downtown of Taipei under Japanese rule before I participated the walking tour today. I began to look at the details of the old buildings around my hometown. The tour guide, Mr. Hsu Yi-hung is an architecture expert with profound knowledge about all the heritages in Taipei so that I didn't get bored by the two-hour tour, instead I felt the tour was too short. The "Taipei walking tour" can arrange a private tour not only in Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese but also in English and Japanese for tourists visiting Taipei. Highly recommend the Taipei walking tour to whoever wishing to travel in depth!Written February 15, 2015
- cestlucy0 contributionsIt's definitely a good way to see Taipei City in a different style!Even though i was born in Taipei city, but the diversity of the city did came from the multi-history of Taiwan, sometimes i can only hear or ask about it from my grand parents but people will fade.......through the city guide tour i learn a lot more details of the streets i walked before, and the tour made me feel more connected to the city again! The tour guide lady is really nice and i do like her using Taiwanese to explain the story and history! Highly recommended to those of you would like to know more about the city!Written February 8, 2015
- kimchitravels0 contributionsExperiencing Taiwan in a new wayThis was my first experience of Taiwan - going from the airport to this tour group and I was not disappointed. The guide was very informative and I learned about the history between Japan and Taiwan. I am glad I was able to join and would definitely recommend it to others, especially if they are interested in history (at least for the tour I joined)Written February 3, 2015
- Laura Z0 contributionsThese guys really care about preserving Taipei's cultural heritageI called in advance and explained that I was traveling with my husband whose Mandarin skills are rather limited. They were kind enough to add an additional guide who spoke perfect English to what was meant to be a Mandarin-only tour. It was obvious that the guides do this out of the passion for sharing the local cultural heritage, and we enjoyed our walk around the Dadaocheng neighborhood despite the heat. We also had a chance to visit the local markets where food, Chinese medicine, and all sorts of interesting artifacts were sold. The locals are so gentle and polite, and the markets are very clean (unlike most of the similar markets in other major Asian metropolis). I strongly recommend this tour if you want to go beyond the familiar tourist spots even just for a couple hours. There is a very small fee to this tour, mainly to cover the cost of the earpiece and some other admin expenses. Yes, you are given an earpiece so everyone can hear the guide loud and clear, and you would return this at the end of the tour.Written July 30, 2014
- hsuehhanlee0 contributionsDon't miss the Taipei Walking TourBefore attending Taipei Walking Tour, I only knew about the fancy parts about Taipei, mostly the urban areas such as Taipei 101 and other department stores. After joining the Taipei Walking Tour, they showed me the historic part of Taipei city, it was something out of my expectation. This fun and easy tour they planned was amazing, and it is the fastest way to know more about the real Taipei.Written May 5, 2014
- aicatch0 contributionsthe best way to know the city!!!They got really professional guide!
